Chapter 8

As soon as I saw lord slug I knew we would have to regroup. While Goku was busy running around dodging a giant lord slug I started to gather the injured z fighters starting with Gohan and piccolo.

"You still alive?" Piccolo grunted, "I'll take that as a yes." I kneeled and lifted him onto my shoulders carrying Gohan with my tail "we can't beat slug as we are now. We need to regroup and come up with a strategy." I moved them to one of the few buildings still standing and sat them against the wall. "Think we could do what we did against Frieza?"

Piccolo checked on Gohan to make sure he was still breathing "I doubt it. Even if we all combine our attacks we wouldn't be able to seriously injure him." Crossing his arms he leaned back "if we could get Goku then we might be able to use the spirit bomb."

I remember the spirit bomb but doesn't it take like an hour to charge it up? I don't think slug is gonna be very generous to give us enough time. "I'm going to assume it takes a while to charge right?" Piccolo nodded "I doubt lord slug is just gonna let us do it and non of us are in any condition to fight." Piccolo looked towards Gohan remembering what happened this morning "I got away but I need you to do it fast. He won't be distracted for long." I nodded and felt out where killings ki signature was at. "I'll go get Krillin and inform him." I began limping towards the down z fighters and put his arm around my shoulder.

"W-we need to help Goku" Krillin wheezed out "I will. We need to get you back to the hideout first." When we were almost at the temporary hideout. We heard a bone-chilling scream. "GOKU!!" Krillin shoved me away and started moving to where Goku was. "Dammit, Krillin do you have enough ki to use a solar flare?" He shook his head then gained a determined expression "no but I have enough for a weak ki blast. I'll distract him and you hurry up and grab Goku."

Before he got closer to slug I grabbed Krillin by the shoulder. "But what about you? Nobody is going to be capable of protecting you once the plan starts.." he gave me a strained smile "I can't have a friend die on me just to save my skin. Now let's do this."

Goku

"I can't lose now! Everyone is continuing on me." Goku thought, remembering all of his friends defeated. 'Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, and Kuriza are all counting on me.' lord slug had already transformed into his giant form. Goku had been dodging his attacks and trying to find an opening for an hour now. His beaten body was slowly running out of juice. 'if only I had a few minutes to charge up a spirit ball.'

Suddenly giant hands sprung out of the ground grabbing Goku. The rest of the slug's body followed soon after. "I got you now you crafty little earthling." Lord slug began breaking everyone in Goku's body one by one.

Crack AHHHHHH!!

He kept cracking Goku's bones until there was only one bone left, the spine. "Time for the big finale." He started to put pressure onto Goku's neck until a weak ki blast hit him on the side of the head. Dropping the near-catatonic Goku lord slug tracked where the ki blast came from.

"Not you again." Krillin stood there arm dangling from his side. "The rest is up to you now." He drops exhausted.

"Tch couldn't even scratch me. Now where was I?" Slug looked down to find Goku again but he was gone. "Where has he scampered off to now."

Kura

I slap Goku on the face a couple of times "Goku man, wake up we need you." Only to get no response. "He needs energy." I looked to the right and saw Piccolo cradling Gohan. We were in one of the few buildings that were left standing buying our time.

I looked towards piccolo "how do I transfer him some?" Piccolo held out a hand "you feel your ki from your core and saturate your body with it." His body started to glow softly "focus into your arm then your hands." He grabbed a piece of rubble "try to connect with the thing feel out its ki then." The rubble glowed brightly in the dark "release."

I followed piccolo's instructions and managed to push some ki into Goku. *Cough "listen Goku can you hear me?" He nodded faintly "can you charge up a spirit bomb?" He looked at the ceiling eyes lidded "Goku we need you awake can you charge up a spirit bomb?" He slowly nodded "good, piccolo it's time to enact your part of the plan." Piccolo picked up Gohan and limped towards slug mutilating killings corpse.

'you'll pay for that, you bastard!'

I picked up Goku and started to fly on top of a decently sized building with a clear line of sight on lord slug. "I need you to start charging now Goku. Don't worry about falling over I'll hold you up." Goku put his hands up in the sky blue particles started to flow into him. Every time he looked like he was gonna drop over I held him up.

Piccolo executed his plan perfectly. Having Gohan whistle to weaken lord slug was a thing I forgot about. Over the years my memory of small details in dragon ball had been waning.

"Do it now Goku!!!" Piccolo yelled being squished by slug Goku gathered the energy inside of his hand and threw it at slug if he hadn't had tripped at the last second he would have hit him dead on. "Dammit!!" Time seemed to slow down for me. The spirit ball was a small distance behind the slug. I should be able to reach it before it gets too far.

I speed after the spirit ball eventually overtaking it. I got Infront of it and tried to bounce it back. 'oh yeah I'm not pure of heart.' seeing as I was fighting a losing battle trying to bounce the spirit bomb back I began infusing my ki into it. Eventually taking control of the technique I made the bomb swirl in a drill pattern. If I can't bounce it back then why not shove it in his chest?

I blasted off to slug my handheld high. Lord slug noticed me and fired a mouth beam. I put my rotating spirit bomb in front of me. Slug's ki wave hit it but The technique seemed to just drill it away. 'i can work with this.' I started to walk before slowly taking off into a jog which turned into Sprint. As soon as slug finished firing his beam he didn't even notice me right under him.

"HEAVENS DRILL!!" I shoved the technique into he the lug's chest blowing it out his back. The energy started to react to slugs evil ki and dragged his bleeding body into the atmosphere and exploded also destroying the device spewing out fog into the atmosphere. "Finally it's-" I collapsed before I even finished the sentence. The last thing I saw was the sun shining down on us.

When we came too we were back in Goku's house. I looked out the window to find that the sky was clearing up but not fast enough to save what animal life we still had left.

'wait, we can just use the dragon balls to reverse the damage slug did to the planet. Problem solved'

Chichi opened the door carrying some bandages. She knelt and started to change my blood-soaked ones. "So how are the others?" She finished wrapping up my arm "doing better. Nairobi should be here any minute to hand out sensu beans." She left the room to change Gohan's bandages.

I flopped down onto my pillow. 'i've been slacking off.' I hadn't used my foreknowledge more to train or prevent certain events from happening. I could've been training in a gravity room by Bulma preparing for the next big threat but no I'm here stealing music from my home dimension.

'no use crying over spilled milk. The only thing I can do now is to rectify the problem.' since Vegeta is conveniently off-planet Bulma's place is safe to visit now. I'll just ask her to build me a gravity room to train in. Maybe a gravity belt to simulate weighted clothing?

I rolled onto my left side 'that is gonna cost a hefty Penny' I said I would train more seriously not accept freebies. I'm more than fine getting the machine early but I have to pay her back later.' yajurobi arrived with the sensu beans an hour later. Kling Kai already contacted the Namekians to ask them to use their dragon balls to revive Krillin. When he was revived he was tackled hugged by Gohan and Goku. I can't imagine seeing someone you grew up with a corpse being mutilated.

"Goku." He turned around "what is it?" Now would be the perfect time to ask about that yellow aura I saw earlier. "What was that aura I saw you with when you rescued me?"

"I don't know to be honest" Goku looked at his hands "when I thought about all my friends, my family, and my planet dying on the whim of some space pirate I just got so angry." He clenched his fist " I felt a burning sensation on my back. I held onto that sensation until slug ripped his arm off."

"Do you think it's a transformation? Imagine if you could tap into that power?" Goku got excited "you're right."

I smiled "wanna go try it out?" We trained together for the rest of the day with Gohan occasionally watching us.

'it's time to be more proactive. I swear I won't let another villain blindside me again!!'
