A/N: I promise I'm getting to the good part. It's just that I love chaos? Does that make things better nope! But a couple of chapters ago I got a suggestion or the same suggestion from a couple of people which I really liked. The girls were going to get together in this one, but damn, you guys made me change my mind.

Anyway, here you are!

Chapter 14

Arizona Robbins did not anticipate getting angry on her birthday, actually far from it. Firstly, she was woken by her father at an ungodly hour and then dragged onto a ship because she shares a name with something similar, this made her annoyed than angry. Sure, she met Danny but then here right now, looking at Callie, it took everything she had not to run away.

"I don't think you have the time anyway. I mean you don't have the time to write me a note or anything. You are too busy with yourself to talk to civilians. You're so busy that you can't seem to have time to tell me that you are at least breathing, so go back to work," she said as she turned around and walked away.

Callie was not going to let her go, not when she was so close, not when she had so much to say. She just couldn't. The brunette reached for the alabaster hand before pulling her towards herself, grabbing a hold of those hips and shoving her on the wall, keeping her trapped by using her own body.

"Fine, I'll admit it! I know it's your birthday!" she said shyly as she avoided making any eye contact.

This was a new Callie to her, she had never seen her shy or timid or anything that wasn't solid, wasn't so sure of herself. She couldn't help as a smile took over her face.

"Now was that too hard to admit?" Arizona teased.

"It is."

"What?"

Callie licked her lips as she stared down at the woman in her arms. Why was she so taken by her?

"God Sugar lips! On Christmas eve every fiber of my being wanted to kiss you, I wanted to hold you in my arms and count my blessings on you, but I couldn't because you weren't mine. And I had to stop myself. I had to tell myself to let you go, because it wasn't right that you have a girlfriend but its so fucking hard," she admitted as she loosened her grip on Arizona giving her the chance to walk away if she wanted to.

"Is that why you didn't write to me?"

Callie laughed bitterly. "You have a girlfriend Arizona, apart from our first set of letters the rest of them have been flirty and down right dirty. I don't want to do that to Jessica."

"Joanne."

"Damn it! What is it about that name!" The Latina exclaimed.

"You are my friend Callie, we can be friends! You should have written back."
"I'm sorry," she apologized wholeheartedly.

"Don't make me tell you twice but I expect a letter now."

The Marine suddenly remembered something. She had spent all of yesterday's afternoon trying to come up with something special to give to the blonde on her birthday. The most difficult thing was to find a gift that meant well, but wasn't too much that it made things awkward between them but at the same time, she wanted it to be a bit personal. She had to play jump rope with that line and man was that hard.

She reached into her back pocket as she pulled out a box. "I got you something."

Arizona unwrapped the box and took out the chain that was in it. The pendant looked like something made out of metal, but she wasn't sure about what the shape resembled.

"What is this?" she asked.

"I made it. It's supposed to be a bird, but I'm not so good at metalwork." Callie said as she shrugged her shoulders.

"You made this?"

"Yeah. I tried, but it's okay, I can get you something nice when I'm no longer on the ship? Is that better?" She asked as she tried to take the pendent back but the blonde pulled it away from her grasp.

"This is mine and I love it! So no, you cannot have it back Calliope!"

The Latina was about to offer her help if she needed help with putting it on but one of the soldiers on board called out to her. "Captain Torres?"

"Yes?"

"Captain Montgomery has called you to her office."

"I'll be right there" she said before dismissing him.

"Ooo somebody is in trouble," the blonde teased.

"Shut up!" But Callie too was smiling.

"Join me for lunch later?"

"Sure, I want to know more about this gallery of yours!"

The Artist shrugged her shoulders. "I was just presenting my work, it wasn't my gallery."

"Yet."

Callie winked before she walked away to go meet her friend.

Addison Montgomery was a long time friend of hers. They had joined the Marines together, but really knew each other well through their families. Both she and Addie came from well off families and would often find themselves being dragged to events they wanted nothing to do with. When the Latina had decided to join the Marines, Addie too hopped on board, liking the idea of being rebellious for once and doing something that went against her family's beliefs.

The Marine made her way towards the Captain's office before taking a deep breath and knocking on the door.

"Callie what the fuck! Who do you think you are? I mean seriously? The audacity of it all? You fly in, unannounced on my ship and you don't even bother to say hello to me? Now come here and give me a hug!"

Callie walked over and tightly hugged her friend who she hadn't seen in quite some time.

"Hey Addie, I missed you so much!"

"It's been too long, what's up?" she asked as she pulled away.

"Nothing." Callie knew that the redhead could see right through it, but she couldn't help herself.

"So there is nothing going on with you and that guy, Danny?"

Eww, just nope, not him. "Sargent Robbins? Nope! God no!"

"I was told you flew in for him?" Addie asked.

"Can't I get here to have a chat with my best friend?"

Addison scoffed. "You and I both know that Mark Sloan is your best friend and you would never just take a leave of absence and come visit me. So tell me what is it?"

"Umm…'' She was hesitant even though she knew there was no reason to be, but still she couldn't help but be a little timid to admit her feelings out loud and that to to another person.

"Or rather who is it?"

"It's nothing!"

"Danny told me he has a sister?" Addie asked.

"She has a girlfriend!"

"So it is a Robbins, I just didn't guess the right one. Damn! You are so obvious! The minute a blonde walks in you just…"

Callie was not going to be on the receiving end of how obvious her choice in women was, so she decided to bring up an issue to her friend.

"You forgot to mention that Penny was on the ship."

"Did you run into her?"

"Yeah-"

"I'm so sorry, I know I should have told you, but-"

"Yeah yeah it's fine," she said as she dismissed her apology, it wasn't a big deal. "She asked me about Erica."

"Oh no."

"Yeah, that was a fun conversation to have for the millionth time." Callie didn't like to have the same thing being told to her about how sorry people were and how they wished her well and how she would eventually find love and that she shouldn't give up. She knew all of that already!

"I'm sorry."

"Then she hit on me after knowing that Erica passed away, but ohh no no, she wanted to get together 'before it was too late because it's meant to be', her words not mine, and I literally had to run away from her."

"But maybe it can be good for you? You need to move on." Addie saw the look she was getting so she decided to clarify what she meant. "Okay, maybe not with your ex, but the Robbins chick? She looks hot, totally your type."

The Latina sighed. "Addie, I love you, I love that you think that I'm ready to move on, but I'm not. I still need time and she's a civilian. There's no way she can handle the fact that I'm always away."

"You gave up already? What happened to your game Calliope Torres."

"I can never give her stability or peace of mind while I'm away. I can't go to bed with her every night and hold her and watch her fall asleep and have her be the first thing I see when I wake up," Callie admitted.

"She's already got you wrapped around her finger, now I gotta meet her!"

"I just don't know what to do Addie, I want to let her go, but everything in me is telling me otherwise," she said as she folded her arms.

"You can go back to her. It's been a long time since you had that. Since you had someone, anyone in your corner." Addie rubbed her arm reassuringly.

"I have you and Mark and Aria!"

The red head rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but you and I are friends who used to have a 'friends with benefits' thing going on while you were still in the closet. You and Mark, well you guys had a couple of one night stands and let's not count your sister okay?"

Speaking of the devil. "How is Mark?"

"Well, he and Lexie made up. Although she is not ready to be a mom yet, she's happy to be a stepmom."

So a while ago Callie's two best friends Addison and Mark had a drunken one night stand which resulted in the redhead getting knocked up and now the two of them share a cute little three year old boy!

"Yeah? And how is little Archie?"

"Archie is doing fine, he missed his aunt Callie on his birthday three months ago. He would have liked it if you gave him the spaceship in person rather than having it mailed."

"Don't guilt trip me!"

"Alright come on let's go get lunch and I really need to see the woman who has this effect on you."

"Fuck you!" she said.

Right before the two of them could leave, the phone rang.

"I'll catch up with you," Addie said as she tended to the call while Callie left.

The Latina headed to the cafeteria as she filled up her plate with food before spotting the blonde sitting and having lunch with her family. She saw Arizona waving at her, gesturing her to come over and join them. As she starts walking towards the blonde she feels someone putting their arm around her shoulder.

"Miss me Torres?" he asked as he leaned in closer to her ear.

"Mark? What are you doing here?" she asked as she hugged him with one hand and balanced the plate of food with the other.

"Didn't Addie tell you I was visiting? Isn't that why you are here on this ship?" He asked.

"Umm, yes?" she said as she pulled away.

Mark followed the Latina's line of sight to look as a blonde haired woman who was giving him the stink eye.

"So she's why you are here?"

"Drop it Mark."

Mark led her towards an empty table before sitting on one of the chairs. "Oh come on tell me, first you disappear for like a year without texting or calling, then you don't even give me a hug and now you're trying to ditch me for that smoking hot blonde over there?" He asked as he used his shoulder to gesture towards the Artist's direction.

"I missed you doofus!" she said as she hugged him one last time before taking a seat across him.

"Where's Archie?"

"He's with Lexie's parents."

While Callie was talking to her best friend, Arizona on the other hand had a million thoughts racing through her mind.

"Who's that guy over there?" She asked her brother.

"You mean the guy who has his hand on Captain's butt?" Arizona's eyes darted towards the Latina's ass but she saw no hand on it. She almost sighed before realizing that Danny only said that to get a reaction out of her. "Anyway, that's Senior Airmen Sloan, he's in the air force and drops by a couple of times on the ship."

"He just drops by? Doesn't he have anything better to do?"

"Well the Captain and him have a child together."

The blonde choked on her drink before coughing up. She saw Callie looking at her a bit concerned before she wiped her mouth dry.

"Callie has a child?!" She almost yelled.

"Not Captain Torres dummy, Captain Montgomery."

"Who is…" She asked. It wasn't like she knew everyone on this ship.

"That red-head over there," he said as he pointed towards another woman in uniform walking towards the Latina's table.

"Does Callie only hang out with insanely attractive people?"

"Getting jealous over there little sis?" Danny teased.

"So all of them are friends?"

The Sargent shrugged his shoulders. "The gossip is that the three of them used to sleep together, but then Captain Montgomery got pregnant and she and Airmen Sloan have a baby together. But he's actually dating Sargent Gray who is on leave right now."

"This is getting a bit hard to keep track off," Arizona said but all the while thinking that was Callie bisexual? Or was this before she came out? Was she even gay? Was she still in the closet? These were too many questions.

"Yeah, they have a deep history."

"So Callie was in a threesome?" she asked as she angrily stabbed her lunch.

"You okay?"

"Like you said, she's my friend. Just my friend."

"So why don't you ask her instead?"

The blonde raised the abused piece of tomato to her lips before biting it.

"Shut up and eat your lunch!"

Danny chucked before ruffling his sister's hair. "I'll let that go because you are the birthday girl."

A/N: There you go, a bit more of Callie's past and present and a little bit of jealous Arizona. Honestly, I love jealous Arizona.

On the show, she was always portrayed as a person who was not outwardly with her emotions, at least before the amputation because we all know after that she was just spewing hate everywhere. But I would have honestly loved to see how they started sleeping in the same bed together and how Arizona let go off her boundaries one by one to allow Callie in, all to just end up cheating on her later… Hint Forever Calzona hint hint… Maybe we learn something about that, but please give us a nice fluffy chapter before that? Pretty please? Also please don't withhold the new chapter… the red head was Penny, but I think everyone is okay with how I wrote her in this chapter?
