With a startle Olive woke up, her hands tightly gripping the blankets. A yelp escapes her lips as she looks around the dark room. Instinctually she looked to the spot in the bed beside her. When she saw that no one was there, she let out a sigh and laid her head back on the pillow. How long was this man going to haunt her dreams?

Too afraid to have another nightmare, Olive reached over and turned on the side lamp which painted her room in a warm yellow light. She had taken a bus as far as she could to the east coast and picked a small town that no one would think to look for her. That was how she found herself in this cute bed and breakfast that had good books in their communal a few pillows to prop herself up, Olive began reading her book again to try and distract her from the anxiety building in her chest.

Before she realised, the sun was peeking through the curtains. Olive hopped into the shower and used her special mint and tea tree shampoo to try and get the gross smell of the bus off her skin. She had been so exhausted from the trip to Stars Hollow that she had checked in, grabbed a book from the library and headed to bed. A few chapters in and her eyelids were struggling to stay open so she stuffed a receipt for beef jerky in between the pages so she wouldn't lose her spot.

With her stomach growling and her half dried hair, Olive headed down to the dining area. When she made it onto the main level her nose was met with the most heavenly smell. Practically floating over, she grabbed a chair and scanned the menu before she felt a tap on her shoulder. Standing there was a short woman with two pigtails and a wide, crazed smile on her face.

"Order the eggs benedict." She pointed it out on the menu and Olive nervously chuckled. "The hollandaise is super fresh. Has a bit of cayenne for kick. Do you like spice? It's not really spicy, just more flavour. You like flavour right?" She giggled and walked away mumbling to herself how 'of course she likes flavour! Who doesn't?'. Before Olive could catch her breath another woman walks up to the table with a coffee pot in her hand.

"Sorry about that." She said while pouring the coffee into Olives cup, leaving almost no room for any milk. "That's our chef Sookie. She's really excited about the eggs." The woman stood by the table for a beat too long and Olive felt a bit awkward as she realised that she was the first person to sit in the dining area. "My name's Lorelai, I'm the co-owner. If there's anything you need, just ask."

"Milk?" Olive sheepishly asked and Lorelai swiftly plucked one off of the other table and placed it in front of her. With that she was gone and again Olive was left alone. She wasn't the biggest fan of eggs but she was sure if she didn't like it that it would be okay to send it back and get something she actually wanted like the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. For many years she wasn't allowed to order the food she wanted so she was excited to try new things.

Her phone was still plugged in upstairs, set on airplane mode in case anyone tried to call. Never one to be left alone with her thoughts, Olive opened the book back up and began reading. By the time the food was set in front of her a few more couples had come down and were ordering their breakfast. The food looked incredible and with one mouthful she knew she wasn't going to be sending it back. Although it was delicious Olive was too hungry to truly enjoy it and cleared the plate and finished two cups of coffee. The bill came and with a grimace, she put down some bills onto the table.

If she was going to stay for a while, a job was at the top of her list. It didn't have to be permanent but something that would help her rent out a small room and pay her phone bill would be good enough. She honestly didn't know how long she was going to stay here. Probably until the depression crawled back up and a new scenery was needed. Olive grabbed her purse from her room and with a glance at her phone she decided to just turn it off completely. It's not like anyone was trying to reach out to her anyways.

Olive headed to the main desk where Lorelai was sorting through some mail while a well dressed man rolled his eyes. She walked up to the desk and before she could even say something the man made an excuse to leave and floated away.

"Sorry about him too. He's French." She shrugged and laughed as if that were an excuse for his behaviour. "How was breakfast?" Lorelali tucked a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear and Olive was struck by how beautiful she was. It made her wonder how someone like her could end up owning an Inn like this. Had she run away like Olive had? But what would someone like her have to run from?

"It was great. Best eggs i've ever had." Olive cracked her knuckles, a new way of coping with anxiety. She wasn't the greatest at talking to people. It was something she had to relearn all over again along with a long list of other things. "I was wondering if you knew of any jobs in Stars Hollow. I'm looking to stay for a while."

"They were that good huh?" Lorelai joked but Olive just awkwardly chuckled. When she realised that her joke didn't land well, Lorelai grabbed a local newspaper from the stand and handed it over. She also grabbed a map and marked out the best way to get around town. "Stop by Lukes Diner as well, the best coffee in town. He's also my husband so I have to say that but seriously, it's good coffee." With a wave Olive was off towards town to try and restart her life from the ground up.
