Ken woke up on Monday curled up under numerous blankets as usual. He wasn't able to generate enough body heat, apparently, after spending so much time in his kanima form. Dr. Deaton said that it should improve as Ken spent more time in his human form. He slowly turned off the space heater and checked his temp. 89.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Still nowhere near human, but .2 degrees higher than yesterday.

Ken began the day with push ups, sit ups, and pull-ups to further increase his temp.

Ken went down for breakfast. His mother was making pancakes. He ate a wonderful hot breakfast. It was nice to really eat human food again. While stuck as a kanima, he had been mostly eating deer.

Jackson casually mentioned he was meeting up with Danny. Ken decided to go hang out with mas-no-Stiles. Ken reminded himself that he was a person and, though bonded with Stiles, both Stiles had and have wanted him to have independence.

Ken walked over to the Stilinski house, feeling Stiles's location. He always felt exactly where Stiles was. If he focused, he could locate the pack and the coven as well, but Stiles was always a presence, like magnetic north.

Ken climbed up to Stiles's window. Mr. Stilinski sometimes worked nights, so he didn't like knocking on the front door, just in case.

At the window, Ken paused. Stiles was awake, but Ken tasted someone: Lydia. She tasted over sweet and somehow of death. Ken paused. This Stiles had another bond, and he didn't know how to properly respect that. What were the rules?

Lydia opened the window. She looked as immaculate as ever. "Come on in, before someone sees you."

Ken climbed through the window hesitantly. "I'm sorry for interrupting. I can leave."

Lydia said, matter of factly, "Nonsense. We need to talk, the three of us."

Stiles asked, "Do we?"

Lydia said, "You and Ken are bonded at a spiritual level. You and I are dating. We need to work out the balance early."

Stiles looked awkward. Ken was uncomfortable and felt Stiles's discomfort as well. It was always difficult when their emotions lined up.

Lydia said, "I respect what you two have. I did some research in the bestiary, then some more in spellcasters tomes. I have a solution that might work, but requires all of us to be adults and talk about emotions."

Stiles flushed. Ken was confused. His emotions were still a little jumbled from his extended period of animalistic instinct.

Lydia continued, "Ken, if you are like Jackson, you have had a crush on Stiles since forever."

Stiles looked shocked. Ken flushed. "I guess I was pigtail-pulling our whole lives."

Stiles went to speak but Lydia cut him off. "I have always had a bond with Jackson. He may not have been attracted to me, but we understood each other."

Stiles asked, "Where is this going?"

Lydia said, "Stiles, you have always been bisexual. I see how you check out the others. Which I totally get. And with the weirdness of a familiar and a kanima bond, I suspect Ken here is bi now too."

Ken said, "I'm still sorting out what I want past serving mas-Stiles. I wasn't a person for a long time. But I have noticed girls and boys. Particularly you, Lydia."

Stiles was confused about where this was going, as was Ken.

Lydia said, "I suggest we form a throuple. Do dates together and as pairs. That way there's no room for jealousy over one bond or another. I have accepted that I have to share Stiles with you Ken, and this balances things better."

Ken and Stiles looked at each other. As a kanima, mating wasn't a priority. Or maybe it wasn't a priority because he was constantly defending his territory.

Stiles said, "Two hot partners, how can I say no? Ken, how do you feel?"

Ken said, "I'm tempted to say yes just because you want to, Stiles. And not being between you sounds nice."

Lydia said, "See, that wasn't too hard."

The newly formed throuple spent the morning translating a tome from Greek. Ken wasn't too helpful, but he was used to just sitting while Stiles worked. It was nice to just sit between Lydia and Stiles, holding books.

They went out to have lunch at a diner, and then went to a movie together.

It was a wonderful day.
