*BOOM BOOM BOOM*
A chain of explosions erupted from the forrest ground, driving birds and other tree dwellers away.
*ARRGHHH!"
Within a dark cave a young man is quite literally fighting his inner demons.
"HIYA!"
A redhead is continuously testing his mantle against a large muscular tail.
"Sandwiches are here!"
And a certain green haired boy is serving food on a silver platter.
After the long tedious internship during their supposed summer break, the UA hero course finally had been given time for a short break before they got started with their next year of study.
That is, they would have it it weren't so 'illogical'.
So the school had decided to organise a week long training camp in anticipation of the provisional licence exam they were set to take as second years. One that focused on helping them build up their quirks to compete against other students from other schools, both in the exam and the industry.
"Thank you Midoriya-kun!" The dominatrix in casual wear, happily picks up a sandwich.
Midoriya Izuku holds back a sigh in fear of upsetting his academic mentor.
"Here take one Eri, it's tuna." Izuku moved toward the little girl resting on Midnight's lap.
"Okay." Eri carefully picked the soft bread up.
The only reason Eri was even here was because Izuku gave Midnight some half assed excuse about babysitting. The only reason Izuku was here was because Midnight dragged him halfway across campus to be her personal servant. And the only reason Midnight was even here was…
"MMM!" The heroine squealed after taking a bite of tangy tuna. "Ah, theres nothing like this time of year. The summer sun is dimming, the autumn breeze barely coming in. And with food, drink and the sight of youths working their sweaty bodies off, it's almost like nirvana…"
Izuku deadpanned at his teacher. She wasn't even on the staff list to be on this trip, and yet she weaselled her way in by prodding Aizawa for a month straight. She didn't even have a class to teach or students to coach!
"Great… Ah! What's that? I think someone's calling me from over there, see ya Eri!" Izuku scrambled away before she could ask for more.
"Ogey!" Eri mumbled with her cheeks full of fish.
This was not he planned on spending what little free time he had left.
Izuku sighed. "Such Misfortune…"
*Bump*
Izuku fell back a little as he collided. "Oof! Sorry about that."
"AHHHHH!"
"AHHHhhh… What are we yelling about?"
"Tamaki! Tamaki! Are you alright!?" A blue haired girl floated her way to check on the shaky little sausage.
"I'M OK! I'm ok… Just… startled." The elf looking boy heavily panted.
"Mou…" The floaty girl pouted. "You'll have to forgive him, Tamaki's a little… squeamish."
"I see…"
"By the way, which class are you from? We didn't see you at- Wait!" The girl gasped. "You're the guy who beat Endeavour's kid!"
Now where has he heard that before.
"Yeah, thats me…" Izuku said for what felt like the thousandth time.
"OH! OH! I have so many questions!"
"Ok?" Izuku's misfortune senses were tingling.
"Are you really quirkless? Do you really have some hidden ability in your right hand? Is your right hand a quirk implant experiment by UA gone wrong? Do you really have a thing for girls older than you?"
"What? What? What? And where did that last one even come from?"
"Asking for a friend." She quickly replied.
"Right…"
"Tamaki! Nejire-chan! What's the hold up?" A muscular blonde came jogging up toward them.
"Oh! Mirio-kun! Miro-kun! Look! It's-"
"Oh, Midoriya Izuku!"
Izuku was starting to feel like everybody in Japan knew him by now.
"Yeah, it's me." He awkwardly waved.
"Oh sweet! I didn't know you were tagging along!"
"Tagging along?" The bluenette slanted her head in confusion.
"Yeah, Midnight-sensei dragged me along just for-"
"Wait! I have even more questions now! Why aren't you in the hero course? Who got in the hero course if you didn't? Was it the purple mind wooby wooby dude? Why is the hero course?"
Half of that didn't even make sense.
"What are you all doing?" A familiar shaggy haired man walked toward them.
"Togata, I thought I told you to gather the rest of the Big 3. We have a briefing to conduct."
Togata Mirio saluted. "Right sir! Sorry about that! C'mon guys our juniors are counting on us!"
"B-But Mirio-kun!" Nejire pointed toward the unlucky elephant in the room.
"You'll get your chance later, right Midoriya-san?"
A chance to ask a bunch of nonsense again? This is going to be the whole week isn't it? Such Misfortune.
"Y-Yeah, s-sure…" Izuku gave them a shaky smile.
"Midoriya! You're coming too!" Aizawa yelled.
"What? Why?"
"You'll see…"
"POWER!"
A fully nude man screamed as many lifeless freshmen laid down, clutching their already exhausted bodies in pain.
Izuku was really starting to regret not going home for the summer.
"Whewww sorry about that guys! Afraid you had to see my willy there."
"You should be apologising for decking us into the ground!" Kamnari Denki yelled.
"Yeah! You're way too overpowered!" Ashido Mina complained alongside him.
"Oh am I?"
"YES!" The whole crowd of students replied.
"He hit me so hard!"
"Every single attack went through!"
"My lunch…"
"ENOUGH!" A muscular white haired man yelled to bring the unruly crowd to attention.
"Thank you Vlad." The hobo looking teacher beside him, started to speak. "It may seem like Togata is completely invincible, but I assure you that is nothing but the fruits of the hard work he put in during his time at UA. Back when he first started Togata was even more hopeless than you lot are now."
The blonde scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "It's true, I couldn't even get through a day of training without getting stuck in a wall."
"Bullshit! Your quirk is amazing!"
"No… it isn't…" Someone shakily spoke out.
The students attention were turned toward another blonde.
"What do you mean Monoma-kun?"
"…When he attacked, I tried to copy his quirk… And I just felt… nothing."
"Nothing?"
"Haha, that's right!" The jovial blonde confirmed. "When I go intangible I have to do it a limb at a time, otherwise I'll just fall through! And the nothingness? It's because I can't feel anything! My eyes can't see because light passes through me, my ears can't hear because sound passes through, it's kinda like being in a sensory deprivation tank only worse!"
Izuku's eyes widened, trying to comprehend amount of training and focus this guy had to go through to get it to work on a level like he just so painfully demonstrated to the class.
"And if you're all still not convinced…" Aizawa stared right at Izuku.
Oh no, he had a bad feeling about this.
"Midoriya! How about you have a go?"
"Oh no…"
"Ooo! Midoriya-san is going to fight him?"
"But that's not fair! Midoriya can just negate that annoying quirk of his!"
"Hell yeah! He beat both Todoroki and Bakugou! This is going to be easy!"
At the edge of the crowd a certain explosive blonde and a violet haired brainwasher watched silently as the green haired boy walked toward his opponent.
"Uhh, please go easy on me Senpai?"
The cartoon faced hero simply raised his fists in a defensive pose.
"I guess that's a no then…" Izuku simply clenched his right fist and charged forward into his enemy.
*SMASH*
The boy was knocked flat on his ass.
"OWW! Damn! You really didn't go easy…" Izuku tended to his bruises.
Togata gave Izuku a chance to recover before striking again, giving Izuku barely enough time to dodge.
Izuku retaliated with a flurry of strikes from his right fist, failing to even connect a single blow.
*SMASH*
"OW!" A kick from the blonde caught Izuku off guard, causing him to reel back in pain.
Unmercilessly his opponent struck again, not giving Izuku a chance to retaliate before sending him back into the ground.
"Urghh…" Izuku clutched his torso in pain, trying to get up once again before Aizawa finally put a stop to it.
"That's enough Togata!"
Mirio complied stepping back from the boy, and to everyone's surprise he still had his pants on.
Togata Mirio hadn't used his quirk a single time during that fight.
"Now this is what I was talking about." Aizawa announced to the class. "Because of his accomplishments against the hero course you all seem to have this idea that Midoriya here is invincible, but as you can see he is clearly not."
Aizawa pointed toward the senior student. "This is what you all should be working toward, Togata here didn't even use his quirk and he was able to easily dismantle his opponent. If you have fought against Midoriya Izuku in the past and lost, rest assured it is not because he is overly strong."
He turned to point at the hero course as a whole. "Everyone here has just been lazy and complacent. You got in because you were the best of the best, your quirks strongest amongst the rest of your peers taking the entrance exam. Because of that you all made the illogical assumption that your quirks are what brought you here this far. I know at the very least for one of you, that is simply not the case."
A tall purple haired boy cringed.
"I assure you if you had the same capacity for physical combat as Midoriya here, you all would have defeated Togata by a landslide. That's why this year we are introducing quirkless hand to hand combat training to shape you all up! Everyone move toward the Pussycats lodge! Tiger is going to brief you on what you're going to do next!"
The crowd quickly disappeared as Izuku was still wobbily recovering from the fight.
"Are you ok Izuku!" A bubbly brunette ran over with a froglike girl in tail.
"I'll live…"
"Hey!" The bringer of pain ran over. "Sorry about that Midoriya-san! I'm pretty bad at holding myself back." Togata Mirio sheepishly apologised.
"I-It's fine Togata-san… You all should head over before Aizawa-sensei throws a fit, I'll just head back to where Eri is…" Izuku tried to reassure them with a shaky smile.
Ochako reluctantly agreed to leave, but not before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Ochako-chan… We have to hurry…"
"Coming!" She replied as she blushed her way toward the rest of the class.
And Izuku was left feeling more useless than he'd felt since the entrance exam.
