Ever since Starscream's attack, and the All Spark's shattering, everyone had seemed a bit uneasy. Optimus had suggested that they all keep an optic out for any fragments they might come across, but in all honesty, Highdrive didn't know what to make of the situation.

One moment their leader had been down and out for the count, believed offline, and the next Sari brought him back with her key. Ratchet had been the first one to check him over, with Highdrive's assistance, and yet neither of them had been able to determine how it had been possible in the first place. Explaining it to the two humans had been even harder.

According to Ratchet, the All Spark was rumoured to be an object of immense power, so much so that no bot truly knew what it was really capable of. No bot even knew how it originally came into existence, unless they themselves were as old as said object, and that in itself was far from a possibility.

After the war Megatron launched against the Autobots, the All Spark and energon had been all any bot ever cared about, at least until the Autobots won the war thanks to the space bridges. It was then that the remaining Decepticons had gone into hiding until fifty decacycles ago.

It was believed that the very first transformer to ever be born into existence came from the All Spark itself, but no bot had ever been able to say who exactly that first bot was, unless they somehow gained an audience with Primus himself, and even that was a big if.

How Primus himself had come into existence… Highdrive had his own theories, mostly that he was possibly the first bot to ever be created by the All Spark, him or the legendary destroyer of worlds, Unicron.

If he was a big fanatic, he would have just accepted that a part of the All Spark had brought a fellow Autobot back from the end of his life cycle, but the medic, the curious part of him, wanted to know more. Much more.

As much as he admired the older mech, Ratchet hadn't been much help in trying to answer his theories. The more he thought about it, the more questions rose as soon as he thought of a way to answer one.

L etting a rush of air flow through his vents, Highdrive crossed his arms behind his helm as he laid back on his berth and stared up at the ceiling above. The smart thing to do would have been to shut down his processor for a couple of hours of recharge. Instead he found himself staying awake, wondering.
