Chapter 11: Attack of the Fury

December 20th 1997, Manhattan, Sally's home

Artemis watched with compressed anger as she watched the vile being, Gabe Ugliano or something, hit Percy. Watching the tears on Percy's face, she wanted nothing but to kill the man who was doing what she wanted to do. She wanted to be the one to torture Percy for killing her family but it was the man who did not even have a reason and just wanted pleasure.

"Ya think you can just argue back with me, you twit," the man shouted, his voice slurring as he slapped Percy, making the latter whimper in pain and fear. Artemis clutched her hunting knives but decided against it and mentally asked Athena to summon her back.

She appeared in Athena's palace and ignored the irritated goddess of wisdom and asked, "I am getting bored sister. I watch over Percy and I have to restrain myself from killing him but at the same time, when I see that - that monster hurting him, I can't help but pity him."

Athena simply raised her eyebrows in response before replying back, "You know, I think I have a plan. You probably won't like it but it might just be the solution to your problems."

*Line Break*

And that's how she found herself before the front gate of a white building, its walls painted brightly making Artemis' eyes burn slightly (not literally). Children were storming in and out of the school and Artemis could barely make out the name, Yancy Academy, on the roof, its gold colour glistening as the sunlight glowed on it.

Oh, she hated her sister so much.

She hoisted her bag and slung it on her back and walked, almost dragging her feet on the ground, towards the school. The first thing she noticed, or rather smelled was the dirty smell that reminded her of Hermes' fart bomb mixed with Hephaestus' smell of sweat and grime. It was nasty on several levels.

Someone shoved her aside and she almost incinerated the person till she noticed the girl with curly red hair and the ugly orange freckles on her face. Apollo would have gagged for the entire century if he saw her. The thought made her smile and she pushed forward and patted her school uniform.

The bell rung and Artemis groaned and checked for which room she was in for the first period. When she opened the door, the teacher turned to her, an angry glare directed towards.

First day, and I messed up, she thought furiously as she took the back row and began scribbling as the teacher spoke stuff about whatever she was teaching. Looking around the class, she noticed a raven haired boy talking with a boy of his age with short curly brown hair that fell right near his eyebrows. Extending her ever growing senses, she figured he was a satyr and immediately lowered her senses and slipped beneath her seat. She could not be discovered yet.

She muttered, "Athena, we have a problem."

What is it? Athena's voice came into her head and she relayed her the entire story. Athena said she would look into it and Artemis sighed before sitting back in her seat. The entire class had left and Artemis grabbed her slingbag and rushed out to find the rest of the class.

*Time Skip*

28 May 2006, Manhattan Metropolitan Museum of Art

Artemis stood by a statue, staring at Percy before someone nudged her in the side. She saw Athena, in her teenage form and asked, "What?"

"Stop staring at him," Athena said, her eyes glaring at her furiously. Sure she disliked the son of Poseidon and she would not let her sister, it was a bit weird for her to accept having another Artemis, fall in love with him. She was still coming to terms of her young daughter falling in love with the son of Poseidon in future.

Artemis rolled her eyes and said, "Just shut up. You should know that I have no feelings for him or any boy. I have a vow." Athena nodded and then motioned for Artemis to shut up as the two witnessed Percy arguing with Nancy Bobofit, the girl who had pushed Artemis. This scene was frequent, Nancy and Percy arguing and rarely physically fighting. With trained eyes, Artemis' eyes widened when she saw the water in the fountain begin to churn.

Artemis' eyebrows knitted as she wondered how Percy was able to control his powers so soon. Before she could react, the water flew and splashed on Nancy Bobofit, who shrieked in response.

Artemis smelled a monster and she instantly ran into shadows, hiding from the Fury. She watched as Mrs Dodds walked to the fountain and began to speak with Percy. After a few seconds, the two head off with Percy being angry and glaring at Nancy.

Nancy gave him a sick smile as water dripped down her body before a gust of wind made her shiver and she rushed away. Artemis stayed in the shadows till the crowd dissipated and sprinted, unaware that Athena had disappeared. She reached inside the museum and saw Mrs Dodds transforming into Alecto.

Her eyes widened as she saw her crawl towards Percy. She nearly flashed on her bow and arrow till she saw Mr. Brunner on his wheelchair throwing a celestial bronze pen towards Percy. She stayed still and watched as Percy uncapped it and Anaklusmos burst through.

Percy looked at it before he took a lucky shot which connected with Alecto and the latter burst into golden dust, returning to Underworld. The adrenaline left his body as he passed out. Mr. Brunner got off his wheelchair, the wheelchair skidding backwards as his lower body materialized and came into view.

He trotted forwards and knelt low and picked up the sword and placed a cap on its tip, turning it back into a mortal instrument, and murmured to Percy, "Not yet, child. Its not your time yet."

He walked to his wheelchair and sat back down, the magic changing his lower body. He said loudly, "Grover." The satyr rushed in, nervously biting into a tin can as he saw his friend unconscious and Mr. Brunner sitting calmly along with the golden dust that used to be Mrs Dodds.

"Was she-"

"I am afraid so. Hades grows nervous as Summer Solstice approaches. He is afraid that this child has his Helm."

"And does he?"

"I don't think so. Go. I will manipulate the mist." Grover nodded and rushed off while Mr. Brunner said a few words and Artemis felt her memories beginning to get probed. She pushed it away and watched as Mr. Brunner exited the museum. Percy woke up almost immediately and looked around confused.

Artemis rushed outside and waited by a statue as Percy walked outside like a lost puppy. "You okay?" she asked.

"Y-Yeah. Do you know where Mrs. Dodds is?" Percy asked, worried and slightly shocked.

Artemis shook her head and asked, "Who? Who's Mrs. Dodds? Do you mean Mrs. Kerr?"

"Who's Mrs. Kerr?"

"Our Algebra teacher. Remember? You went missing so I decided to wait till you returned. Come on. Mr. Brunner is waiting."

The two headed off into the bus and Grover rushed to Percy's side, causing Artemis to shuffle away. Satyrs could smell very well and she didn't want to risk her scent being caught. And also because she hated men, she reminded herself. It was getting harder to convince herself considering the time she spent with Percy. She had spent centuries spurning men because of their actions towards women and society itself.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Percy asked Grover about Mrs. Dodds and she leaned in slightly to hear what the infuriating satyr had to say. He denied her existence but the amount of time he took was enough to make Percy suspicious and her to glare at him.

The three of them got off at the and Artemis said, "Well, I should head off home now. That was quite the trip. You sure you are feeling good Percy?"

He looked suspiciously at her and asked again, "So you are sure you don't know who Mrs. Dodds is?"

"No clue. Are you sure you are okay?" she faked her concern.

Fortunately, the boy dismissed her and left in a hurry, followed by the satyr and, she noticed with her piercing vision, three fates. She stayed seated but watched as the demigod and satyr lingered around for a few seconds and their expressions changed from confusion to horror before she was flashed back to Athena's temple.

The spectacled goddess looked over at her and exclaimed, "You reek of men."

"You don't say," Artemis retorted as she waited for Athena to change her appearance.

"So what now?"

"Now, we let history, or in your case, future play its part."

Athena sighed as she took off her glasses and replied, "Artemis, while I would be more than happy to let you rent out my temple," the former Olympian snorted, "Father is suspicious since his lightning bolt was stolen. We know who the real thief is but we cannot reveal the truth just yet so I must ask you to follow the son of the wretched god and ensure that father doesn't take any impulsive actions."

Artemis sighed as she remembered Percy's slowly growing powers before a vision of his evil smile replaced that of his innocent childlike demeanor along with the golden eyes covering the bright sea-green eyes.

"Fine sister," Artemis groaned, as if the mere thought pained her. This would be a very hectic few days since Percy had to retrieve the Bolt before June 21st.

M/N: Hey guys, long time no see. I was going over my open works to finish them off and realized that TyGuy45 will hereby not be returning. With that in mind, I have decided to write this story by myself since I still remember the plans we had. Unfortunately, it does not mean that the updates will be frequent since I am busy with my life and also writing different other stories. As you can see, this is projected to be a very big project since we are upto Chapter 11 and Percy has yet to go on his first quest. Of course, I will be skipping past the general quest bits mostly because we can read that in PJO as it is. I will mainly be including Arty's involvement and other scenes that I find useful.

Also review, follow and favorite so I can begin to get motivated again.
