Chapter 3: Obstacle Course

CMC: Thx, and you're about to find out

The next day the groups reported to the football field. They were all wearing shirts with their groups Greek letters on them. Many of the university's other students were in the stands watching them.

"All right, let's give it up for the frats and sororities compete this these games. Alpha Pi Gamma!" Chris announced.

That sorority gave people a mix of smirks and stink eyes.

"Epsilon Nu Kappa." announced Chef.

Those guys gave evil smiles.

"Phi Nu Gamma."

The girls smiled and waved.

"Zeta Delta Iota."

The boys did their own odd cheers and greetings.

"Phi Sigma Eta."

The girls smiled and waved some shyly some boldly.

"Theta Iota Chi."

The guys smiled and waved.

"And finally, Chi Psi Nu."

The girls smiled and waved.

"All right now for the first game. An obstacle course."

Chris then pointed to an obstacle course on the opposite end of the field.

It was made of four parts. The first was a climbing wall, second was a mud pit, third a set of monkey bars, and fourth was a rope swing.

"You'll have to try and finish this obstacle course, each member of your group has to fully complete it. When a member finishes they must press a button on the other side to alert the next team mate it's their turn. The first group to finish wins, the last gets eliminated." Chris explained.

With the challenge explained, the groups headed for the obstacle course, and lined up to wait.

"On your marks...get set...GO!"

And with that, Heather, Duncan, Gwen, Harold, Beth, DJ, and Sierra started.

First they climbed the wall. Heather decided to use her part for her sorority and did a little cheating. While climbing, she stepped on Gwen's hand.

"Oww!"

"Oops, sorry."

In the mud pit, Harold was trudging through it. It was really thick, and like sludge. As he trekked through it, he felt someone push him. He landed face down in the muck, and when he pulled his head up, he lifted his glasses to see a figure ahead of him.

Even though he couldn't see, but he recognized a voice that called out to him.

"Nice spill, nerd."

It was Duncan. Harold growled angrily, got up, and continued on. The monkey bars were pretty simple, Beth managed to stay right behind DJ. And on the rope swing, Sierra grabbed the rope, and quickly jumped and swung to the other side.

She then pressed the button, to alert her next sorority sister. Staci then started her turn. Then Eva, Bridgette, Justin, Ezekiel, Lindsay, and Geoff. Eva easily took the lead, with Lindsay being the one in last place.

Bridgette managed to pass Justin in the mud pit, but that was only because Justin was treating it like it was toxic waste. Ezekiel had fun on the monkey bars. And on the rope swing Geoff had fun swinging on it.

Eva was the first to reach the button, and alerted her next teammate. Next came Courtney, Alejandro, Leshawna, Rodney, Dakota, Tyler, and Katie. As they did the course, Dakota bumped into Rodney.

"Oops, sorry."

Hearing those words come from her, Rodney's eyes turned to hearts.

"Wow, she's really nice." he sighed.

He was so in a daze, he stopped moving. Suddenly he was knocked out of his trance by Scott.

"Watch it loser." he snapped.

Rodney shook his head, snapping out of it, and hurried along. He finally made it, and alerted his next fraternity brother. Then came Amy, Jasmine, Lightning, Shawn Dawn, Noah, and Ella. On the other side, the other members were cheering for their team.

"Come on guys you can do it!" cheered Geoff.

"You being the biggest team, you could come in last." mentioned Alejandro in a mean kind of way.

"You know he does have a point." said Tyler.

"Then we'll just have to double time it, and hope for the best." Trent replied.

Sugar, Topher, Sky, Leonard, Samey, Izzy, and Noah went next. Leonard was at the mud pit, when he pulled out his spell book.

"I must have a spell to make this easier."

As he flipped through the pages, he didn't notice he was falling behind. The first group to finish was Phi Nu Sigma, then it Epsilon Nu Kappa, and third was Alpha Pi Gamma.

"What's taking our team so long?" wondered Harold.

Leonard continued to try his spells.

"Come on, one of these has to work."

The next group to finish was Phi Sigma Eta, then it was Chi Psi Nu.

"Come on Theta Iota Chi!" called Brick.

"Hey, Zeta Delta Iota, what's going on?" wondered Ezekiel.

Leonard looked up from his book, and saw that Sam was passing him.

"Oh my gosh." he said.

And he quickly followed after him. When he got to the end, he faced his angry fraternity brothers, and pressed the button.

"What happened?" asked Harold.

"I was trying to find a spell to help." Leonard replied.

Finally, Beardo and Dave finished the course.

"All right, people, the winners of the first game are the sorority, Phi Nu Sigma." Chris announced.

The girls cheered with delight.

"And the group that's first to be eliminated is the fraternity, Zeta Delta Iota."

"Sorry boys time to go." Chef told them.

The boys groaned.
