Blossom of snow
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Doma was getting annoyed by these two brats.
Ever since Sorashi adopted the two demon children, she had been focusing her attention upon them. Both were extremely happy to have someone that took care of them. Daki took it upon herself to dress prettier and let her play with her hair. Gyutaro was shy at first, but gradually took the role of a doting son. Sorashi made sure to clean them both up, feed them, and proceeded to spend her time with them. Doma watched on with jealous glares as the two had even made some of the women of the cult gush at how cute they were.
However, despite the new nuisances in his life, he made a surprising discovery about Sorashi. Said demoness seemed to have a split personality. He witnessed this when she saw her transform the children that night. Her flowing purple hair, beautiful glowing eyes, and even the ethereal way her voice sounded. When she was in this form, he believed her to be the Queen of the Night he had so much about. His master's queen was quite the sight to see. Then there was this side to her, the fun loving, storytelling, mischievous green haired female. The self proclaimed "Hoshihime" who caught the attention of all around her with her stories and talents. Some were jealous by the fact that she even caught the gazes of the men of the village. The rainbow eyed demon hummed to himself as he fanned his face.
I wonder if it's possible to fall in love with both sides of her.
Days turned into months before Sorashi decided to finally go back to the Infinity Mansion.
Now that her children finally got used to being in her presence, she decided that living in a cult would not be healthy in developing their social skills. Daki was a social butterfly by nature, getting along with the women of the place. They gushed about how cute she was and adorned her with various hairclips, perfumes, and other trinkets. Gyutaro was more shy, constantly clinging onto her robes and keeping a watchful eye on his sister. Sorashi found him quite adorable by the way he tried to look as if he didn't care, but secretly enjoyed being around her. They even got accustomed to being demons too, asking Doma for a bite of his meals. He would open his mouth to refuse, but seeing Sorashi giving him a knowing stare, he would relent and allow them to eat.
Then Kokushibo finally tracked them down. It was a day before she was going to leave to return home when he appeared in the window of her room. She squeaked in surprise, startling the children awake from their slumber. Both of them glared at the six eyed demon and stood in front of their new mother.
"Who the heck are you?" Daki spat, starring daggers at him. "How did you get up here?"
"Hmm…he seems handsome…sickening." Gyutaro droned out, sneering at him. "Don't even think about laying a finger on okaasan."
Kokushibo stared at the two, contemplating taking out his sword and ending them. He actually started sliding his blade out before Sorashi got over her initial shock and stopped him.
"Wait Koku-Chan!" Sorashi got in front of the two before smiling. "I apologize for making you come and get me, but I was coming back soon. How on Earth did you even find me?"
Kokushibo sheathed his blade as his eyes scanned her body for injuries. "I had a tracker placed on you, but it was being blocked by some demonic energy. Now I see why." He grabbed her by the shoulders, bringing her close before hugging her. "I was worried sick about you. You need to stop running away."
Tears started streaming down her face as she clenched his hands. "I know, but Mu-chan never lets me do anything or go anywhere! How can I feel like a prisoner in my own house? It was so suffocating and he does nothing about it."
Kokushibo let her cry her eyes out on his robes, rubbing his hands on her back. "Had it occurred to you that if you just spoke to the master about this that he would allow you to have this freedom that you crave?"
Silence.
"Oh yes, that would help things go smoothly." Sorashi agreed, wiping her eyes off. "Man, I forgot the most basic forms of communication! When I get home, I shall talk things out with him."
Kokushibo nodded, secretly happy that he finally found her. He gestured towards the two children. "What about those two? Are they your children by blood?"
"If by blood you mean through means to save their lives, then yes." She hugged both Daki and Gyutaro. "If I have other children, then consider them part of my family. I will return home to talk to Mu-chan about having them live in the Infinity Castle."
Before either of us could leave, the sliding door opened to reveal the smiling face of Doma. Sorashi noticed that his usual grey eyes were staring right her in a pained expression. This was quickly erased as he snapped his eyes at Kokushibo.
"My dear, were you truly planning on leaving me?" He asked in a mocking tone. "You were happy here with me, I even let you keep those kids with you. You had freedom here and all you could ever want. Why would you ever want to leave?"
Sorashi smiled gently, walking over to Doma. "Doma, thank you for everything. Staying here with you made me realize just how much the special people in my life need me. I can always visit when the time is right." She took his hands, rubbing them as she tilted her head. "You never did tell me your greatest wish."
"Stay with me and you'll hear it!" He was practically begging her as the smile on his face started to strain. "I don't want you to go! I want to be selfish and keep you here with me! Nobody else matters nor do they make me feel this way." He glared angrily at the stoic face of Kokushibo. "You go and tell your master-!"
SLICE!
Sorashi covered her mouth as Doma's head went flying off his neck. Kokushibo wiped the blood off his blade before sighing as the woman he loved and her children stared at him in shock.
"He will regenerate, now let's get going."
There was something off about the castle as Muzan stepped inside for the first time in ages.
He growled as he remembered how Tamayo betrayed him and went off with that darn sun breather. He would have to make sure to kill him before he got too powerful. There was no sign of the Blue Spider Lily, which made him more irritated. To top it off, he had heard that some group of individuals were planning to form some sort of organization meant to kill him.
At least he had recruited a new member for his squad. Kokushibo had also informed him that Doma was delighted to join his ranks too. He also mentioned these two demon children who had potential as well. He would have to look into them.
He stood in front of Nakime, who was playing her biwa. "Nakime, where is my queen? Is she still in her room?"
"My lord, the queen has created a garden while you were gone." She said, pausing in her playing. "It's quite a lovely place. She has asked me to send you there when you've returned."
Amused, Muzan nodded. "Send me to her."
With a stroke from her fingers, Nakime sent her master through the various halls of the castle until he reached a door that was covered in vines. Star shaped flowers decorated the vines, giving off a soft glow and pleasant scent. Muzan plucked one of the flowers off the vine and took in their intoxicating scent. These flowers may have been planted by his queen. Placing a hand on the door, he went to slide it open. A sharp pain hit his hand, making him draw back. Some of his blood had dropped on the flowers, staining the petals red. He shook his head, pushing the door open.
It was a breathtaking sight. The garden was lavished from head to toe with various flowers in shades of blue, purple, and white. The star shaped flowers from the door lit a small path along with the fireflies. The air was full of sweet and gentle fragrances. Shiny stones and other multicolored rocks decorated the different paths. In the middle of the garden was a large cherry blossom tree on a small island. Sitting underneath the tree was his beloved, her kimono crimson with flowery designs. In her braided ponytail were small white petals and the vines from the door were wrapped around her legs.
Muzan walked onto the path that lead to her, excited to finally see her again. As he gazed upon the splendor of the garden, he could've sworn he heard soft voices whispering in the air.
It's him, the one they call king.
Our lady has spoken about him.
His aura is quite powerful.
He looked around to pinpoint the small voices, but saw nothing. The hushed whispers giggled at his confusion, their voices becoming one big murmur. He was about to do something about the voices, but a slight yawning noise cut them off. Sorashi was waking up from her nap, rising off the ground as she sat against the tree. The whispers came back, now excited for their queen waking up from her slumber.
"Sorashi…" Muzan said, approaching her slowly and avoiding harming her flowers. "I have returned from my trip. How did you make this garden while I was gone."
Sorashi's eyes widen as she stared at Muzan. "Mu-Chan? You're back!" She leapt up, snapping the vine around her legs and tackled him to the ground. Placing her face on the crook of his neck, she breathed his scent. " Oh Mu-Chan…I've missed you so much."
Muzan returned the hug, almost feeling happy that he came home. "Thank you for missing me, but I wasn't gone for-" He stopped talking as he felt tears on his neck. "My queen? What troubles you so?"
Sorashi got off him, tears running down her face. "Mu-Chan, I have something I want to tell you. Something that I've been holding in for so long and now that you are home I want to address."
Muzan sat up, his eyes never leaving hers. "What is it?"
She took a deep breath. "Do you actually love me? Do you honestly have feelings for me after all these years? Am I just someone you can drag on a string and tug around or am I someone you treasure? We've been together for so long now and you've changed so much. I can barely recognize you anymore and it scares me. It feels like you are trapping me inside this place so that you have someone to come home to. I want to be free with you, to travel, make new friends, and learn more about the world around me! I know you think you're in the right for locking me up, but it feels so suffocating! If you love someone, you don't keep them from seeing what they can become. If you let me, I could be a valuable asset for you! I'm a capable fighter, I have a solid human disguise, and I can even gather intel. If we are partner, you need to trust me like I trust you."
She took his hands, staring directly into his eyes. "So I need to know here and now; do you truly love me or should I find love somewhere else?"
The whispers stop to hear Muzan's reply. In fact, said demon was stunned by the speech his queen had just given. He never thought that keeping Sorashi locked away would make her want to leave more. In fact, now that he thought about it, he hadn't once put her feelings before his own. Even turning her into a demon was his choice. Deep down, Muzan knew what he was doing was wrong, but he let his pride get in the way and made his flower doubt his love.
He would have to rectify this now.
Getting down on one knee, he stared upwards at his sadden beauty. "Sorashi, Queen of the Night, beloved of my heart, I never thought that my actions were hurting you. I was stupid and selfish, putting my own ambition before you. I was so desperate to find immortality and keep you alive that I had neglected you in the process. No amount of forgiveness will ever make up what I have done towards you. However, know this, you are the only one I have loved since we first met to now."
Flower petals blew up in the air as both of them stared at each other with a loving gaze. Muzan reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a golden band. He slid it on her finger, making Sorashi gasp quietly.
"I promise to be more attentive to your feelings and focus on making you happy. In order to do so, allow me to make you my mate, my only love forever." He kissed her hand, red eyes peering into hers.
"Mu-Chan….of course!" Sorashi clasped her hands on either side of his face and brought her lips against her own.
Nakime cracked a small smile as she switched her song to a happy tune. It was about time those two hooked up.
There was great joy abundant in the air that night. However, with great joy, came great sorrow.
Kokushibo watched from a nearby window and clenched the hilt of his sword tightly. So his master had made amends with his lady and even proposed to her. He should feel happy for her and him, knowing that this would be the start of a prosperous kingdom.
He couldn't help but feel anger that he had not snatched her up first.
Giggling was heard behind him as Doma came from down the hall with the newest member of the ranks. This one had short pink hair and rings around his eyes.
"What'cha watching Kokushibo? I was just showing our newest upper moon around." Doma's annoying voice pierced the air as he fanned his face. "Is the queen alone in her garden again? Perhaps I should go keep her company."
"Don't interfere, master has just proposed to her." His words cut sharp and clear. "And she said yes."
Akaza watched in shock as Doma dropped his smile and his eyes changed to rainbows. The power and aura radiating from the two was enough to make him step backwards. He didn't get it, what was so intriguing about this woman that made these two act up? He went over to the window to see what kind of woman she was.
His eyes narrowed at the green haired beauty who was now making a flower crown for the progenitor of demons.
Was this the so called "Queen of the Night"? She doesn't look so tough.
Soon the princess will become queen.
And she shall meet her third star.
However, will this wedding be one of happiness,
Or one of great sorrow?
Sorashi and Muzan are getting married!
Akaza also makes a cameo at the end in front of the jealous suitors. Too bad he'll fall for her charms soon enough.
Nakime seems happy that Muzan and Sorashi finally talked things out.
Tune in next time for the Akaza centered chapter.
