What raging fire shall flood the soul?
What rich desire unlocks its door?
What sweet seduction lies before us?
Akaza couldn't believe what he was seeing.
These powerful demons, Kokushibo and Doma, were sulking around in their own ways around the Infinity Palace. The number one had put himself through training his body and mind while passing by the Queen's chambers to hear her hum. Doma went back and forth between his cult and would too linger outside her chamber to catch a glimpse or two. The two brats easily went in and out of her with new clothes and big smiles on their faces.
It was disgusting how much she managed to change the whole place with just her appearance.
He valued strength above anything, and she seemed too weak to even be considered strong. However, this weakling managed to charm all those who came near her and even get engaged to Muzan! It was infuriating! How did she even do that?
So now he was going to prove how useless she was. He hovered over her sleeping form as she was underneath a large tree in her garden. The moon was at its highest point in the sky and everyone was out for the moment. This was his chance to strike.
He rose his fist high above his head and was about to strike her unguarded face. In that split second, her eyes shot open as they changed color along with her hair. His hands were suddenly tied up along with his body as the Queen of the Night stared deep into his eyes. He struggled in the bindings, growling when the hair got tighter as she took out a pure silver blade from her hilt.
"Now, are you going to have a proper conversation with me or shall I continue to have you suffer for trying to kill my other half?" Her voice spoke with more power and authority than what Akaza witnessed the other day. It was as if she was a different person!
"Let me go! You wretch! Release me at once!" He struggled in her hair, frustrated at her power. "You were not this strong yesterday! You were some sort of weakling!"
The Queen sighed unhappily as she started to stroll around the garden. "Is power truly all that matters to you? I feel sad if that is how and why you became a demon."
"Shut up! Tell me how you got so strong! I sensed hardly any power within you yesterday." He yelled, getting more angry by the minute.
She was quiet for awhile, admiring the plants her other side had planted. Sitting down in a bed of Cosmos, she turned her head upwards at Akaza and smiled.
"I find a place like this most relaxing. Almost makes me forget that I was a demon." She released him, dropping him gently on the ground. "This is why it is foolish to attack me in such a peaceful place. I have no qualms fighting you, but I would prefer to solve problems without conflict."
"You are a strange demon." He glared at her, but growled as he started to walk away. "This isn't over, you know? I will find out how you got so powerful even if I have to challenge you every day from now on."
She said nothing, but waved as he left her alone once more.
Sorashi now was fully excited that her wedding was coming.
Gazing at her engagement ring, she carefully braided Daki's hair into an intricate braid laced with the Elderweiss that grew in her garden. Gyutaro was leaning over her shoulder, a lazy look on his face, but he was content. They were in her bedroom, the curtains tied up so that no sunlight would shine through.
"So you are marrying Master? Does that mean we have to call you by your title?" He asked her, playing with her now growing green hair.
"You call me okaasan Gyutaro, I see you and Daki as my children after all." Sorashi tied a white ribbon on the bottom of her braid. "Even if I have children of my own, I will always consider you two to be my first."
Daki smirked, crossing her arms. "Of course we will! I will be the best big sister ever if you get anymore children! Gyutaro, you will be a best big brother too right?"
Gyutaro shrugged, not bothered. "You are my own blood related sibling, but I guess whatever child okaasan has will be considered my own." Poking Sorashi's cheek, he gave her a toothy grin. "Just be careful when you walk these halls. I saw that pink haired punk, Akaza was his name, lurking around your doorway a lot. Seems like he wants to fight you."
Sorashi groaned, knowing that the newest knight was going to be a problem. Kokushibo was her guardian, protecting her from anything that would harm her. Doma was like her wild card, constantly starved for affection and hugs her a lot. Nakime, bless her heart, was always there to lend a ear to her problems. Then there was her children whom were earning their own money while keeping her company while Muzan was out.
"Akaza is….an interesting case. He recognizes my power and wants to prove himself stronger than me. However, since I am one of the first demons, I have made myself so powerful that I must hide it inside." She finished tying her hair and gave Daki a kiss on the cheek. "No matter what happens, never show your power unless you are threatened or in vast danger."
A loud noise came from outside the door, causing it to be blown off from its hinges. Sorashi shielded both of them from the door pieces, taking sharp pieces to the back. Outside of the door was Kokushibo who was pointing his sword at a bloodied form of Akaza. Doma was watching from the other end of the hallway, his face covered by his fan.
"Say that again, you whelp." Kokushibo gritted his teeth as his sword prodded through Akaza's chest. "How dare you speak ill against the Queen!"
"I said what was honest! In that pathetic state, she is nothing but a weakling. I've seen what she could become and who she is on the inside." Akaza stood up and glared at the woman who was guarding her children. "How can she stand to stay in that useless body when she is much stronger than this?"
"There's a lot of things you don't know about her Akaza." Doma trilled, his eyes flashing rainbow for a second. "You should be careful with the words you say."
Daki and Gyutaro watched as Sorashi started walking near the fight with a frown on her face. The green haired woman stopped in front of Akaza before placing her hands on either side of his head and staring into his eyes. Kokushibo and Doma glared intensely at the pink haired punk, wanting to be in his position.
"What the-? The heck are you doing weakling?!" Akaza shouted, placing his hands on her own to pry them off.
"You are hurt. I can sense something deep within you." Sorashi smiled gently at him. "You want to be the strongest demon and yet you have the weakest spirit. This desire...you must have had a rough childhood."
Everyone was surprised when Sorashi's hands glowed green as she transferred some of her energy into Akaza, who felt lighter and less aggressive than ever. A surge of power flowed through his body, making him stare at the woman in a different light. Why had she made him stronger? He had slandered her, insulted her, and even tried to kill her!
So why...was she so forgiving?
Sorashi tilted her head, backing away from Akaza before turning shyly. "I hope this helps. I know I'm not the strongest demon nor am I near the peak that Mu-Chan is, but I care for any demon he brings in and will do my best to help you out."
"Oh my, you didn't need to do that to him!" Doma crooned, hugging her from behind. He leaned his head on her shoulder. "You could just give me that boost instead."
She patted his head. "No, I don't think that would be wise. I just have a gut feeling that what I did works. However..." Her eyes flash as she punched Akaza in the gut...hard. "If you ever call me names or insult me again, I won't hesitate to strip your powers away to the point of making you utterly useless."
"Okaa-san is so cool." Daki whispered under her breath, her eyes sparkling. "I hope I am as cool as she is when I get older."
"She sure showed his pretty face a lesson. Wish she had cut him more." Gyutaro agreed, grinning widely.
Kokushibo smiled to himself before prying Doma off her body. "Sorashi, I do believe it is time for you to continue training. Come with me, I want to see your breathing style once again."
"Kay!" She winked at Akaza, hands on her hips. "I'll check on you later. Maybe kick your butt if we train! Who knows, perhaps I'll go easy on you." Turning around, she gave a kiss to Daki and Gyutaro on the forehead and left a stunned Akaza watching her leave.
Doma turned to Akaza, a teasing smile on his face. "She may have forgiven you, but I have not. Threaten her again and I shall make you die quite painftully."
Akaza stood there with a stunned look on his face before looking at his hands.
This woman...there was more than meets the eye with her. He would have to investigate this thoroughly.
The moon loomed over a quiet village as a lone demon stood in the bloody remains of his family.
Tears were streaming down his pale face as his hands shook with sadness. This spider themed young boy had just killed his family along with the rest of his town. Poor Rui had lost his family and felt as empty as his eyes now. Looking around, he was trying to figure out what to do now that he was a demon and all alone.
Jingling noises were heard, making him looking up. In the shadows of the moon, there was a looming figure coming towards him. The power this person gave off made him shake in fear, but a flowery scent wafted in the air and made him feel calm.
Then the moon shone back onto the air and standing in front of him was the Queen herself. Her outfit was quite odd, a pure white kimono decorated with white lotus, a purple sash, and a large hat with a veil covering her face. Her purple hair was pulled up in a bun and still held the flowers that Daki gave Sorashi. A lone sword was placed on her back and she wore a feminine white mask that covered her face.
"W-W-Who are y-y-you?" Rui asked, curious about the lady. "Are you here to kill me?"
The Queen laughed at this, placing a hand on his head. "I do not want to kill you, since you are a child in my eyes. Children and babies do not deserve death whether demon or human."
"Are you a human or a demon then?"
"I am the Queen of the Night, the lady of Muzan Kibutsuji, and the mother to all orphans who are lost or unloved." She leans down to his level, brushing his bangs out of his face. "I was looking for my future husband and came across this town. I assume you've been a demon for awhile?"
Rui started to cry, allowing the Queen to brush his tears away. "My parents thought I was a monster and was going to kill me! I didn't mean to slaughter them, but I did! That man turned me into a demon to save my life and I wasn't sick anymore. I just want a family to love…a mother and a father that won't betray me."
There was silence as the Queen hugged him gently. Despite her being the more aggressive side of Sorashi, she also had a soft spot for the little ones. This spider child was sad and her maternal side took over her more powerful side. Her desire for children was the reason for adopting Daki and Gyutaro after all.
"Child, would you like to be my son? I have two other children and I am to be wedded soon." The Queen asked, wiping the blood off his kimono.
Rui's eyes widen at this, a smile slowly forming on his face. "Are you serious? You want me to be your child?"
"Only if you are okay with it, both you and my betroth." Sensing that he was close, she brought Rui closer to her body. "Muzan, are you mad at me for leaving again?"
The familiar figure of the first demon came into view with a neutral face. At this point, he was getting used to the fact that Sorashi would leave the base at her own will. However, this was the other side of his beloved whom he had the displeasure of meeting once before. While he enjoyed his childhood friend with her kind heart and ability to be friends with everyone, her other side was much more mature and serious. Not that this side wasn't favorable, but she never called him by the cute nickname she gave and she even had a terrifying power behind her eyes.
"You may take him home with us." Muzan replied, eyeing the young one with contempt. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for our wedding soon? Why must you adopt another child so close to the date?"
The Queen stared at him through her mask. "I couldn't help but pick up this small child. I am still making preparations, so do not worry."
Muzan hummed in thought. "Well this is better than what I was going to do. I'll inform Nakime to create a room for him. Keep in mind that we don't let every demon child live in the castle with us."
The Queen chuckled, picking up Rui and smiling happily. "I'll be your mother from now on. I'll protect you and keep you safe. If anyone tries to hurt you, they better prepare to face my wrath."
Rui couldn't stop his tears from falling as he clung onto her clothes and cried happily. Now he had a family and a strong mother to protect him. He vowed to grow stronger so that one day she would rely on him.
Muzan watched this with a small smile on his face. Despite the other personality, she was okay. If this was Sorashi in her most potent form, then he would have to see just how powerful this Queen is.
This wedding is going to be interesting. I just hope those demon slayers don't catch wind of it. Otherwise, I will be killing some more people than usual.
Akaza is going to keep an eye on Sorashi.
Rui gets adopted by the Queen herself.
The wedding is coming near.
This will be a glorious next chapter.
Oh my gosh, I fit so much into this chapter! I hope Akaza gets to be in love with Sorashi soon. He's my cousin's favorite after all. I tolerate him.
