Hello my fellow slayer/player fans. I'm sorry that yesterday's chapter was so short so I'll my up for it by making this longer. SAO and doom belongs to their respective owners and I do not own them. I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Slayer pov:

The slayer walked through the green plains, his first goal is trying to find some of these 'players' Vega was talking about. He 'fought' more of these wolves and boars, but he took them out like a scythe in a field of hay. He continues his trek until finally coming upon a small shape in the distance. He uses his binocular mode on his helmet to zoom in and sees that it looks like a small town.

/it appears to be a small town in which the players all started at called 'The town of beginnings'. Detecting multiple players in there now. I suggest we ask the players around for additional information/

The slayer nodded in understanding and slightly quickened his pace. He didn't want to alarm the players because he might make them think he might be attacking the small town. As he walked, the small shape grew larger and larger, being more identifiable by the minute as a town.

A person in i dark brown cloak was making their way towards the Town of Beginnings. Their hair partly sticks out as it is long and colored orange. This person went by the name of Asuna. As she was about to get into the safe zone, she heard heavy footsteps behind her. She shot around and took out her rapier and got into a defensive stance. What she saw stunned her, a tall man, clad in green and brown armor. The only parts of him that were visible were his fore arms, muscles bulging . But that's not what shocked her, it was that his armor looked futuristic and was covered in blood. 'Blood wasn't supposed to be in this game' she thought.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She demanded.

Only silence answered her question as he stood there, starring at her, the tint in his visor making the intimidation worse. She didn't know if he was a player or a monster of some sorts, but if he was he would've just attacked her upon sight. The stand off continued until finally the visor of the man's helmet lit up in a light of blue.

"hello, we are sorry for scaring you. I was downloading an external speaker module into my system" said an almost emotionless voice.

Asuna was still in her defensive stance as she stared at the unidentified man. 'What did this person mean by "we" and what did he mean" downloading external speaker"?' All sorts of questions were running through her mind as she stares at the man clad in green.

"And I believe introductions are in order, my name is Vega, a sentient AI made by the USC, this man from whom I'm speaking for goes by many names, but the most common name is the Doom slayer." Began the now known Vega leaving out the Mars part.

Asuna only lowered her guard a tad bit now knowing this 'doom slayer' is not hostile...yet.

"If we may ask, what is your name?" Asked Vega.

"U-um, my name is Asuna..." Asuna replied.

"Noted...downloading name, Asuna...download complete. We thank you for your compliance and hospitality. Now if I may ask, do you have any knowledge of this place?" Asked vega.

"well... we're stuck in this game called Sword Art Online... um...there's a hundred levels we have to complete so we may escape. And if you die in this game you die in real life" Asuna tried her best to explain.

"Thanks for the information, we will be on our way to ask for more information"

The person began to walk away but Asuna called out to him and he stopped and turned his head around slightly.

"Wait, I have a question of my own to ask" Asuna began.

"Very well, ask away"

"what are you? You don't seem like an NPC but then you don't seem like a player."

There was a moment of silence before Vega answered, " we are neither player or NPC, we are not in fact from this 'game' as you call it.."

This new information only raised more questions but the slayer walked away and into town before Asuna could ask any more questions.

Slayer pov:

He didn't really care for anything Vega said. But after he heard this 'Asuna' say that if you die in this game, you die in real life only made the slayer more furious for the creator of this game. He had walked away from Asuna so he may begin absorbing more information instead of just standing around chatting with people. As he entered town, he saw that the buildings were made of stone and wood. The slayer enjoyed the view of stone buildings but this only meant that the technology was no where close to where he came from. He saw shops all around selling various items from food to armor and weapons. None of which could even wish to rival his. Players all around him kept their distance and stared at him in shock, Aw, and fear. Then he was approached by an angry looking guy with orange spiked hair.

"Hey, you there! You think your so tough in that fancy looking armor of yours?! You must be a cheater. It's cheaters like you who made it so hard for the rest of us to level up and get enough money to buy better equipment!"

As the man kept rambling about stuff the slayer didn't care for, he suddenly got a notification, a floating 2D page floated in his view. It was written in Japanese but thanks to Vega, he translated it. It read that he was invited to a duel, the opposer going by the name 'Kibaou', probably this man who was annoying him. He was about to decide to decline until the man called him a coward. The slayer had enough and accepted the duel. Everyone around them circled around them like vultures waiting to get their meal from a dead animal. Kibaou got out a weak looking sword and got into a battle stance. All the slayer did was stand there, offending the spike haired man.

"You think you can take me on with just your fists?! I'll teach you a lesson that stupid bastards like you are just decoration!" Yelled Kibaou.

The fool was about to charge the slayer but he was already upon him, punching him again and again, not giving him a chance at retaliation. Little did he know was the slayer was holding back in his punches trying not to kill him in one shot but making sure to teach him a lesson. He saw Kibaou's health fall into the red and decided to stop. Just like that, he won in just under 10 seconds. Everyone around him was silent but then broke into a loud cheer. All of them giving the other their currency as they had place bets of who would win. The slayer paid no attention to them and walked off, leaving a angry Kibaou laying on the ground.

Kirito pov:

Kirito was going to complete a quest to earn more XP and money until he saw a group of people formed into a circle, watching something. Kirito being as curious as he was, went into the crowd and decided to see what was going down. What was interesting was Kibaou fighting a man clad in green and brown armor. Then the next few seconds shocked him, this man, beat Kibaou in just a span of 10 seconds only using his fists. Then he looked up and saw who this man...no, beast was and saw it displayed as 'doom slayer'. It was a very fitting name for him he thought. Then he saw him walk away without a care in the world and Kibaou throwing a fit over it, calling him various names. He decided he was gonna follow this 'doom slayer' and ask him how he got his armor and what he had as a weapon. He followed him and got his attention.

Slayer pov:

The slayer was walking away from the crowd trying to get as far away as possible until a person got his attention.

"Hey tough guy, can I ask you a few questions?" Asked the person.

As he studied this person, he looked very young, maybe 17 or 18, he couldn't tell exactly.

"and what questions may that be?" Replied Vega.

"I was wondering where you got that cool looking armor and what weapons you may have" the kid stated.

"I'm afraid I can't answer that, for this armor was forged by a rouge demon and then upgraded by the UAC. As for the weapons, we cannot answer for it is a secret" Vega answered.

The kid looked confused and stunned at the same time. The slayer could tell he didn't get half of what Vega said. And he thought Vega should keep a lot of things secret as to not draw too many unwanted attention.

"Ok... well my name is Kirito, nice to meet you slayer" kirito said.

The slayer knew that the duel openly displayed his name and that now a bunch of people knew his name by now. Then Vega downloaded the kid's name and Face ID in his system for later use. The slayer nodded to the teen and began to walk through the town, looking for things of interest.

Many days have passed in this game as the slayer continued his exploration. Then he got news from Vega that they have located the 'boss' of this floor. He stated that many of them probably won't make it due to the description of the creature. This made the slayer follow a big group of players along with a few faces he met on his first day here. After a couple of hours of following them out of sight, they came upon two giant doors. He waited for them to open it before slipping in while they weren't looking. The slayer was going to see how things went before interjecting and helping them fight this 'boss' as they called it. The lights all turned on and he saw a big kangaroo wearing a helmet of some sorts and wielding a giant sword. The players all charged and fighting this creature's minions. He saw kirito and Asuna lead the charge and engaged the giant monster, tag teaming it. He watched the fight and saw potential in them, they would've made fine knight sentinels but then remembered this was a game so they might not give theses skills in real life. He watched the health of the thing drop, but then it got out another weapon and went into overdrive as it bounced around and killed a man with blue hair. This has gone for long enough as he got out his ballista.

Kirito pov:

He was just about to dodge an attack from the thing but then a flash of red hit the boss, knocking it off balance. He look over to see where it came from and saw the slayer himself. He watched as the slayer battled the monster head on, seeing him wielding a strange crossbow before switching to...a shot gun!? He fired both barrels into the beast, dropping it's heath dramatically. His jaw dropped at the damage the slayer made. The slayer relentlessly started to pulverize the monster with various weapons. The boss's health dropped rapidly. Then the slayer looked at one of the minions and ran full speed towards it and got out his chainsaw and sawed it from the head down, the insides only glowing red particles. As he finished it off, ammo came out and he grabbed them, replenishing his ammunition. Then he continued his attack on the boss, finishing it in under a minute. He stood there, staring at the corpse shatter like glass before slowly turning his head around towards the players who flinched a bit. The slayer just walked past them as the gates opened again, the beginning part of "At Doom's Gate" 2016 plays.
