Tails x Cream
Summary: Tails and Cream have a small plate date and offer gifts to one another.
This is inspired by the song Candy hearts and paper flowers from Raggedy Ann and Andy a musical adventure movie. I just wanna write something that's simple.
Also, I wanted to try to make this seen as a platonic relationship as well, so people can interpret it as them dating or being good friends.
"Tails!" Cream beams at the sight of the yellow fox. He stood in front of the open sliding doors, with a plastic bag held in both hands. Every Thursday Tails would hang out at Cream's house for a little play date. Occasionally either of the two would have brought gifts; it seems both have today. Cream had the gift in her right hand, the gift being encased by a blue ribbon. Yet she hid behind her back. The yellow fox had a vague idea of what the gift could be. It seemed small enough to be a necklace his friend has made. Tails grins and waves at her as he steps toward the outdoor table. Sitting down on one of the 6 seats surrounding the modern table. Cream ran up to his side, her arm stretched outward for Tails to have a face full of her gift. "I got you these pretty daises Tails." The yellow fox grins with glee; she would always pick the prettiest flowers from her garden. The garden seemed to be more hers than Vanillas. Cream is frequently outside with her little Chao, providing for the plants/flowers or planting new seeds to make the place more lively as she would say.
He takes the bunch of daises after placing the bag on the table, "Thanks, they're lovely!" He wraps his left arm around her waist. Pulling her into a warm hug. Cream reciprocates the action, tightening her grip around his shoulders. Cream quite missed him since the last Eggman attack. Like always, Tails accompanied Sonic to stop Eggman from his truism plans of defeating the blue hedgehog. It took a whole week until they succeeded in stopping Eggman. During all of that anticipation for the fight to be over, Cream was worried sick for Tails. Although she knew he wouldn't usually run straight into the fight like his best friend, people never know what could happen during these battles with Eggman. She was just glad to see him safe and unharmed. They soon part from the embrace, letting Tails carefully lay the daisies beside the bag. "How has everything been since Sonic and I had to leave for a while?" He begins the conversation, having Cream recap anything he has missed during the week.
They begin a back and forth between them, one asking a question and then having the other answer. It wasn't until the mention of Amy getting a gift from a certain hedgehog, Tails is reminded to give Cream her gift. Tails opens the bag, "Oh! I almost forgot to give you these." Cream watches him pull out a big square box. The top was a light shade of red, along with two vertical stripes of purple. The petite rabbit beams in excitement; she knew what was inside the box. Tails takes hold of the lid, purposely taking his time to open it. Making the rabbit wait in anticipation. He peels the lid off, exposing chocolate hearts placed in rows of 6.
"Yay! You bought them again!" Cream reaches for two of the hearts in the first row. Swiftly throwing them into her mouth, chewing on the delicious flavour. Even if he would bring the same set of chocolate hearts, Cream would never complain. This type of chocolate was her favourite and it was nice to know Tails never forgot that fact. It always made her feel loved by the yellow fox. That's the same reason why Tails never complained about Cream giving him daisies; they were his favourite and made him feel loved.
Tails offers a grin, "Of course I did. They're your favourite after all." He lets her grab as many chocolates as Cream could, sometimes taking one for himself to eat. Cream sits on the chair nearby them before continuing to share the chocolate with Tails. Savouring this moment as if it was their lasts.
