Chapter Three: Warriors of the wild
"Hello Queen Mary." Danny said as he saw the Queen of Scotland along with her ladies in waiting Greer, Kenna, and Lola playing a game. There used to be another one, but she was killed by Queen Catherine's bastard to fulfill one of Nostradamus's prophecies. Nostradamus was another person that he was looking for. The power to see the future was one of the abilities that he did not possess and so such a man could be truly useful if given the proper enticement. Another reason that he wanted to find Setesh.
"I have heard that your talk with Henry and Catherine went well." Queen Mary said as she put her mallet down. The three ladies in waiting were standing at a distance behind her but still close enough to hear what was being said.
"I think so. The two of them turned out to be very understanding people." Danny said with a smile.
"You are holding their son hostage. I doubt they had much choice." Queen Mary said with a frown. Looks like she still hasn't gotten over his ruining their honeymoon. He wondered how she would feel when she learned about how he found her and her husband. Lola should start showing in a few months from now. He had given her medicine to hide the fact that she was pregnant which was why it was rather rude that she had been feeling such terror the moment he appeared in the castle.
"I tried talking to the two of you, but you refused to listen." Danny said.
"Your deal would cost me more than what you promise. Whatever bargain you want to strike know that I will not take it. I have faith in God and his path for me." Queen Mary said.
"I wonder how long you can hold on to that stubbornness. I have seen your future and it is a dark one." Danny said.
"You are just trying to scare her into working with you." Greer said.
"That's so hurtful I am telling her the truth." Danny said as he pouted and grabbed his chest.
"Don't you have something else to do today besides bother us?" Lola asked.
"True. I have a tomb to raid." Danny said as he gave a smile and small bow to the ladies in waiting before he left.
(Space)
"Hello Prince/King Francis." Danny said looking at his prisoner as the imperial march died down. If there was any theme song to use when walking to the cells it was that. It was programmed to play the moment he stepped foot in this area of the ship. By the look the French prince/king was giving him the only thing preventing him from charging at him was the energy field provided by the cage. Part of him was tempted to see what would happen if he prevented his Jaffa from feeding the prince food but he was too valuable to starve for any large amount of time.
He really needed to find where it was that Setesh was hiding. The B.I.R.D.S were scouring the entire planet but wherever he was it was well protected, or he was not going outside.
"What do you want?" Prince/King Francis asked.
"I just wanted to talk to you. To tell you how your family is doing while you are in my care." Danny said. He had been bored while waiting for the ship to arrive and needed something to do so he figured why not talk to his prisoner? He could probably learn a lot about ancient French history from him. If kings were known for anything it was making sure their descendants never forgot their actions.
"Have you taken them hostage as well?" Prince/King Francis asked sarcastically.
He was clearly upset about how their first meeting had gone down.
"You are so distrustful of me. I wanted to work together with you and bring peace to your troubled land. Is it my fault that you and your wife are so stubborn?" Danny asked the Prince/King.
"We turned down your offer and so you put me in a cage. I doubt we would have been able to get along." Prince/King Francis said.
"I never claimed to be perfect or to hold saintly patience." Danny said as he started cracking his fingers.
"So, are you going to release me eventually?" Prince/King Francis asked.
"Yes, one day I will release you back to your family and your home but for now enjoy your stay. Some time away from French Court should give you some peace." Danny said as he took a recording orb from his satchel. He held it in front of the prince and started capturing the prince's image.
"What are you doing?" Prince/King Francis asked backing away closer to the wall and away from the orb in his captor's hand.
"This? Did you know in what you call the "New World" there is a tribe of people that believe if you capture the image of a person, you steal bits of their soul?" Danny asked not answering the question but asking his own to the horrified Prince/King.
"What?" Prince/King Francis asked his eyes going wide at the implication of his question.
"Don't worry. I am just messing with you. This is to provide your family with proof that you are still alive and being treated well. Your wife and your mother are worried about you." Danny said with a smile as he shut the orb off and started tossing it in the air. It was not that heavy. It looked similar to a baseball and weighed about as much.
"You will regret messing with my family. The day you are executed we will turn into a holiday for the whole of France to celebrate until the end of time." Francis threatened moving closer to the energy field.
"I do not think that is true. I feel like eventually we are going to be great friends that will laugh when we look back at this time." Danny said.
"So not only are you arrogant you are also mad as well." Prince/King Francis asked.
That needed a proper response. Questions were fine but insults were a whole other matter.
Francis gripped his head as on his side of the cell loud noises began to surround him. It was so loud that not even covering his ears blocked out the noise. His head felt like it was about to burst.
"Is there something the matter Prince/King Francis?" Danny asked from the other side of the energy shield with a smile on his face. It was due to being unable to hear the racket that was happening before him.
"My king." A Jaffa named Zetal called out after the door slid open.
"Yes?" Danny asked turning from Prince/King Francis wondering what the cause of this interruption was?
"We have found the temple you have been looking for my king." Zetal said.
"Already?" Danny asked he had expected some more time questioning Prince/King Francis.
"We have only done our duty. We apologize for taking so long." Zetal said.
"You have done good work and send any other information send to my room while I get ready." Danny said as he went to change his clothes and put on his battle armor.
"Where are you going?" Francis yelled out in confusion.
"My people lost something a long time ago. I am just going to get it back." Danny said.

(Honduras, New Spain)
"?" A voice called out as they approached the village.
Danny looked up and saw a man standing atop the wall holding an arrow that he was ready to let loose if the need arose.
Who was he to let go of such a nice opportunity? Before the man could ask another question Danny pulled him towards him and his armored hand wrapped around the man's throat. The bow and arrow fell to the ground and while the man was paralyzed, he went through his mind. Learning his language and seeing his memoires.
"What are you?" Seto asked him. It was all he could do as whatever this man was doing was preventing him from moving.
"The Spanish inquisition." Danny answered with a smile. It is what he told his people to say when they questioned who attacked them. If there were any survivors to tell of the attack, then they would blame the Spanish. At a time like this when Spain was either attacking or conquering lands it would be easy to believe. Then Spain would have to deal with a massive army raging against them.
"What?" Seto asked not understanding what he meant.
"Nothing for you to worry about." Danny said before snapping the man's neck. His body hit the ground a second later now that it no longer held a purpose.
"Jaffa Kree." Danny said as the ten soldiers lined up ahead of him and prepared to fire at the huge wooden wall in front of them.
The Jaffa started firing through the door and causing explosions on the other side and probably sending a lot of people scattering. The villages warriors were probably fine so they could probably lead people away until it was safe for them to come back. He was not here to wipe out the village so if any of them were going to survive it would probably be the ones that ran away.
"Forward." Danny said as the Jaffa stood up and started marching past the rubble that used to stand in their way.
The moment they passed the rubble though was when arrows started flying down towards them. There were at least fifteen arrows in the first volley. It did not matter though as he rose a green shield to protect his Jaffa.
"Be prepared the people in this village are stronger and faster than the standard population on this planet." Danny said According to the memories of Seto the warriors of the village were werewolves, but the Jaffa did not need to know of it to complete their mission. Their symbiotes made them stronger and their armor would keep them well protected.
"Yes King Daniel." The Jaffa said aiming their weapons and taking aim.
"Set your weapons on stun I want to give these villagers as a present to Nirtii." Danny said. She would probably like to study these humans that could shift between man and wolf.
The Jaffa went running in separate directions to accomplish their goal while he started walking straight ahead. Any arrow that came near him was deflected by the bubble shield around him. Eventually they would learn that their arrows could not touch him.
The temple ahead was not built in the standard pyramid design of the Goa'uld instead it was more of a Mayan theme. There were steps on each level of the rising temple, but they led to nowhere as there were no entrances. It looked like someone had cut square blocks out of the ground and started stacking them on top of each other until it reached the sky. That must have meant the only way to access the inner sections was probably by Transportation Rings or some secret entrance. He could wait for the Jaffa to finish their attack and scan the temple, but it was more than likely that Telchak had left traps in the temple to kill whoever thought of going for his treasures. Goa'ulds did not like sharing about as much as the loved power and treasure. A search by Jaffa or scans from a ship would probably activate a trap and set off a self-destruct or some other weapon to destroy the entire area.
Standard procedure for the Goa'ulds.
"Go and fight my soldiers. You can at least hurt them." Danny said as he released the shield and stepped in front of the temple.
"Step away from there outsider!" A voice yelled at him making him turn his head at the person running towards him with a knife in hand. According to Seto's memories that was Mayushika. A warrior that traveled beyond the village so that they could eat meat.
"No." Danny said and blasted a hole right through him. Shandor really had some reckless villagers.
"Lets us see if I can phase through the door." Danny said as his hand began to vibrate faster and faster. It passed through the solid wall without hesitation, so it seemed like he had found his way in.
"I am going ahead in now. Do your best to make sure no one comes in after me." Danny said to his Jaffa before he took a step through the outer wall. He found himself facing a giant hole when he came out on the other side. Looking down he saw that the hole went down for miles and at the bottom were sharp wooden spikes stabbed through bodies. Some so old that they were just skeletons. Whatever clothes they had been wearing had long turned to dust. Look this pit was either a trap for people attempting to rob this place or for executions. It might be both.
"Which way am I going now?" Danny asked as he floated in place.
"Guess I will just have to check everywhere." Danny said before creating five duplicates to search for whatever treasures were in this temple.

Danny turned solid and took a look at where he was. There were many statues around him, but they were so old that it was hard to tell. A part of him was tempted to transmute the ground into a bat and just start breaking things but he was here for other reasons. He was heading to the top of the temple to see if his prize was there. Maybe Telchak was lazy and wanted to keep his treasure at the top near his quarters. Make sure that it was never far out of his reach.
"Well, I activated a trap. So that is a good sign." Danny said looking at the switch his food had just stepped on.
Two walls on the side of him came down revealing holes that were probably filled with arrows that may or may not be poisoned. They were not a problem because by the time they left their hole he had already blurred past the trap and watch as the walls just shot at each other.
"That is going to be one confusing game of connect the dots for whoever sees this." Danny said and watched as the walls began to melt from whatever poison had been laced on the arrows. That was some truly nasty stuff. It was a good sign though. Traps were only there to protect something important.
"Let's see what else is here." Danny said as he started walking forward with a whistle in his step.
It did not take long for him to find something.
"Halt intruder." Raki said as she stood in front of him. She was holding a long spear and glared at him with hatred.
"I think it is a little too late for that." Danny said as he looked at the werewolf in front of him.
"Why have you attacked us?" Raki asked him.
"This temple has something that I want, and I doubt you people would give it to me." Danny said. The people of Shandor were a proud lot. They had terrible luck, but they were proud. They would defend this village that they found two-hundred years ago.
"You will suffer for the pain you have brought to our home." Raki said before charging at him with a wide swing.
"Fine. Let's see what you can do." Danny said as he kneeled and put one hand on the ground. As his hand rose so did a one-handed sword. At the edge of the hilt was a large circle with his initials carved into it. He put one hand behind his back and got ready for the fight.
"Witch." Raki growled at him as that was the only answer that made sense. His smell was weird and his accent strange but the only people she and her people had met with similar strange abilities were the witches.
"No but I am looking for one. If you tell me where to find one, I would be grateful." Danny said.
"The only thing I am going to give you is a painful death." Raki said as she charged at him again.

Danny gave a whistle as he looked at all the treasure around him. Gold and jewels that were stacked in piles that led to the ceiling. Paintings and statues encrusted with jewels. Standard stuff for situation like this but he never got tired of finding places like this.
"Stay where you are thief!" A voice yelled out. Danny turned to see that it was Wyper son of the village chief. He was one of the fiercest warriors according to Seto's knowledge. He was also Raki's brother. Seto had looked up to Wyper but if Danny had to make a choice between siblings, he would choose Raki ten times out of ten. Wyper had a lot of anger issues.
"Walk away from here. You will live longer that way." Danny said as he spread his senses throughout the room. There was a high chance that this room was full of traps. One wrong move and it would be activated.
"You will not move one step further." Wyper said before taking out his weapon. It was like he combined the spiky part of a Morningstar with a whip. Of course, the moment he pulled out the weapon is when the room started to shake.
Danny teleported all of the treasure to the ship the moment the room started shaking. He did not know what kind of trap had been activated but he was not going to allow it to take any of his prizes.
"What have you done?" Wyper asked him clearly getting ready to us his weapon.
"It does not concern you. What should concern you is whatever this trap is." Danny said as the temple walls started moving revealing two giant bodies. These giants were over ten feet tall. Their faces were the kind that you would see on Halloween mask that people would wear in the twentieth/Twenty-first centuries. At the edge of their hands and feet were steel claws.
"Ah Puch?" Wyper called out in shock, and it made him realize what these creatures were.
Ah Puch was the Mayan god of death. Telchak must have either created these creatures in their image or created the myth that whoever disturbed his tomb would awaken these defenders and they would kill whoever reached areas he did not want them to. Since Telchak had been dead way too long for these people to know of him they must have found some record of what was in the temple. Probably how they managed to enter the temple and find him so fast. They clearly did not have the good luck necessary to find him so fast.
"Good luck with all of this." Danny said watching as the eyes on the guardians began to glow red as they marched forward.
"Where are you going?" Wyper questioned him.
"I have already got what I wanted. I do not need to stay and fight these things." Danny said before he turned to mist. If the original wanted to fight these things than he was more than welcome to it.

"Well, that was a surprise." Danny said as the last of his duplicate's memories came back to him.
"Is something the matter my king?" Nadu asked on the communicator.
"No. Just dealing with the last traps that Telchak had left behind in his temple." Danny said looking at the monstrous guardians that were now climbing the walls of the death pit to try and reach him. The broken and disturbed rocks and dirt were falling down the dark hole.
"Do you need help?" Nadu asked.
"Not really. I am thinking of keeping them as toys. I want you to send a Tel'tak and pick us up." Danny said. It would be so cool to use them as tool when he went to conquer other worlds. It would just be a regular day for those people and then before they knew it giant demons fell from the sky shooting death lasers.
It would not be that hard all he had to do was connect with the programming that controlled them and change how they identified friend from foe. He saw that it worked when their laser eyes turned from red to green.
'This vacation is turning out amazing.' Danny thought to himself. His duplicates had already made sure that he had gotten his prizes and he wanted to see how many werewolves had been captured during the attack.

"What do you plan on doing to us?" Raki asked saying her first words since she had been brought on board the ship. On her hands were electronic bands that at the slightest sign of rebellion could be forced together at either pair or give off a shock that stunned the body so that it was prevented from moving. Those bracelets are used to control prisoners in his kingdom and had many other fun and useful effects. He had yet to use them given that Raki was so shocked by what she was seeing to even attempt to run away.
"I am taking you to your new room." Danny said as the imperial march began again. "Hello again Prince/King Francis."
"Who have you kidnapped now?" Prince/King Francis asked while lying against the cell wall behind him.
"This is a new friend I met on my journey. She is going to be staying for a while." Danny said as he gestured at Raki.
"Where are we?" Raki said saying her first words since she had been brought on board the ship.
"This is my ship. You are going to be staying here for a bit. After that is done, I plan on taking you with me to Prince/King Francis's home." Danny said switching to her language as he opened another cell and next to him. The moment she was inside he activated the energy field.
"You will get nothing from me. I would rather die than see what you have in store for me." Raki said as she glared at him.
"You say that now but we will be spending a lot of time together and hopefully you will change your mind. Being stubborn will not get you anything. Just look at Prince/King Francis. If he had agreed to work with me he would probably be eating better food." Danny said as he left to go back to his quarters. There was a lot of fire in his new wolf. It could be fun seeing if he could tame her.
"Do you need anything my king?" Garel asked him after appearing on the screen.
"No but alert me when the new prisoner is finished being scanned." Danny said switching back to the Dinai language. The walls that made up the cells served many purposes. One such purpose was a deep scan of the individuals stuck inside of them. He wanted to know how it was possible for someone to shift into a wolf on the night of a full moon. He wanted to see how useful werewolves could be in his army. Seto's memories showed that they were stronger and faster than baseline humanity. He wanted to see if they could be added to his army. The vampires would follow a similar path once he found a way to control them. He had meant hunt down some and start getting answers on how they functioned and what abilities they had but it had been moved down on his list given that it was not like they would die of old age. Near the top of the list was getting the two Chappa'ai that had been left behind.
"Contact Nirrti." Danny told the contact orb as he took a seat on his bed. He wanted to tell her of his recent acquisitions. She would probably find them interesting too.
