The moment they reappeared in one of the grand halls of Asgard's castle, Loki yanked his hand away from hers, leaving Luciana with a weird tingling sensation on her skin. She wanted to look at his face but the sheer amount of guards surrounding the three of them took all of her attention. The blue light had barely faded away as they already closed in on them, taking immediate hold of the younger of the princes. Luciana could only watch as they replaced the chains he was already in with even stronger ones, extending to his feet even. She inwardly winced when they put the metal collar around his neck, like he was some kind of dangerous animal. Yes, he had done horrible things while under the influence of the mind stone but he was still a prince and most importantly a living being. It made her incredibly angry and she would have spoken up against it if it wasn't for Thor who squeezed her hand tighter, signaling her to let it go. Luciana gritted her teeth, but swallowed the words she had on her tongue. She hated to admit it but he was right. Going against the guards wouldn't change anything. They weren't the problem, after all they were only following orders.
The orders of the Allfather. He was the one she should direct her anger towards.

Soon they dragged the God of Mischief away, towards the throne hall where Odin had to be already waiting. At least they had taken off the gag from his mouth. Luciana wanted to shout something after him, something reassuring like "It's gonna be fine. After all is said and done, he is still your father." But no matter how hard she tried, no words came out of her mouth and she could only stare at his back until he disappeared from her sight.

However, at the far end of the long hallway she could see the figure of the Queen looking in their direction. Although she couldn't see how her lips moved, thanks to her powers she could hear Frigga's words loud and clearly. "He will be alright."
Luciana swallowed hard but the lump that had formed in her throat refused to disappear. She could only hope that the queen would be right.

And when it rains on this side of town
It touches everything

No one had been allowed inside the throne hall while Odin ruled down his judgment. But that hadn't stopped Luciana from lingering in front of the big door leading inside. She had tuned her hearing to listen in on everything that was said. But at the end of it the constant usage of her powers had drained her energy. The resulting dizziness was slowly getting to her. She leaned her body against one of the huge stone pillars for support and closed her eyes in hope for the spinning feeling to disappear. However, her mind only punished her with images as the conversation she had spied on replayed in her head. "He will be alright" my ass, she thought. Odin may not have killed him but having to spend the rest of your life in a cell might as well be considered a death sentence.

A loud thud followed by several footsteps and the clanking of chains brought her back to reality. Opening her eyes, she saw Loki pass her as the guards dragged him away, their goal unmistakably being the dungeons. It was only for a split second that he looked at her but it was enough for her to see the crack in his usual ever so smug display. He might still have been smiling, but there was a certain self-deprecation to it. "Loki-" she started calling after him but she was held off by one of the guards.
"No speaking with the prisoner." he stated matter of factly and the tone in his voice left no room for objection. And for the second time today she could do nothing but watch as her childhood friend got dragged away.

Oh I, I never saw it coming

She had wanted to visit him right away but when she set foot near the stairs that lead down to the underground prison the guards refused her entrance. "Only the Allfather, his son and the queen are permitted to speak to the prisoner." They had sent her away, knowing who she had wanted to visit before she had even said a single word. Of course, she had tried to play them, explaining that she, in fact, wanted to see someone else. However, they stood in their place relentlessly, not to be fooled by such a weak attempt of trickery. Immediately Luciana had confided in Frigga, but the queen's hands were bound against her husband's orders. It seemed like she really had to take it up against the Allfather himself.

A little nervous, she entered the big throne hall with determined steps. She had asked Thor to arrange her a meeting and to her surprise it hadn't taken more than a day before her request got granted. However, the audience itself didn't go down nearly as smoothly. Before she even stopped in front of the big throne Odin's deep voice echoed against the walls. "No one is to speak with the prisoner. There is no room for discussion."
"I haven't even said anything yet-" the brunette began to object. However, the king had no intention of letting her speak.
"So, is that not why you're here? To be granted to visit him?"
"It- It is, but-"
"Then this conversation is over."

Luciana surged with anger. Not only was she shot down, no she hadn't even been allowed to say anything. Every soul in the realm claimed the Allfather to be the wisest and most righteous king since the eons of time had started turning. But there was absolutely nothing righteous about this treatment. The only thing the brunette saw was cruelty. It made her furious. And when she spoke she forgot for a moment who it was she had in front of her.

"So, was it a lie? Everything? Did you only pretend to care when you sent Thor and me to Midgard!?" she yelled but the Allfather only stared at her, his expression never changing. "All this It has to be you crap- If it has to be me, then why am I not allowed to see him!? Did I not do what you wanted? We brought him back! And for what!? For you to put him in a cage like an animal!? He is YOUR SON!"
At the end of her outburst Luciana was panting in desperate need for air but she still stared daggers at the king. Odin however, didn't seem to be impressed in the slightest. She had been incredibly rude, respectless even. Normally that alone deserved to be sentenced. But instead of being angered by the offense she had met him with, the Allfather only spoke in a calm demeanor. "Not anymore."

Her eyes grew wide. And suddenly the world around her turned quiet. Had she just heard that right? Could the king-, no. Could a father really be that cruel, that heartless?
She felt a lump in her chest, pressing down on her. Taking a breath suddenly seemed incredibly hard and she felt like the room was spinning around her. Luciana couldn't remember what happened after that. Did she storm off? Or had the guards escorted her out? Did she have to get dragged away? Did she remain silent or had she screamed at the Allfather from the top of her lungs?
But what did it matter…

When she came to, she found herself on the balcony. It had become night and the stars and planets of the universe shone brightly above her head. Standing under them, she suddenly felt incredibly lonely. And as she cast her eyes upwards the tears started to roll down her face. But at the same moment a new resolve grew inside her. If she wasn't gonna be allowed inside, then she just had to find a way to get to the dungeons another way.

You made yourself a bed
At the bottom of the blackest hole (Blackest hole)

Admittedly, she hadn't thought it would be all that hard to trick the guards. After all, most Asgardians weren't the brightest candles on the cake. However, she still needed to come up with some kind of plan. And for that she needed time to think.
Time the Allfather apparently had no intention of giving her.

Just one day after her audience Odin had called for his remaining son and his friends - which included Luciana. She felt a bit awkward in the big hall after what had happened but that feeling was soon exchanged for one of frustration.
After the Bifrost had gotten destroyed and Loki's havoc on earth, the peace in the nine realms had been disrupted. The other planets had begun to question Asgard's authority. A stark peak in uprisings being the consequence. Apparently Odin thought it to be a good idea to send out his son and future king to crush the uproars. Reluctantly, Luciana had no other choice to join the blonde in his quest of restoring the peace. Sure, she could have decided to go against Odin's command, but Thor was her friend and she didn't have it in her heart to turn him away. Especially not when his heart was still aching for Jane Foster. Unfortunately that meant she had almost no time on her hands to devise a plan. Sometimes they were gone for days or weeks, their longest battle lasted over a month. And upon their return they either had to immediately prepare for the next one or Luciana was so exhausted that she couldn't form any clear thoughts. And on the rare days she wasn't they had to attend the victory parties that got held upon their triumphs.

Both her and the eldest prince were rarely in the mood for a feast though, their thoughts both being elsewhere. At one point they had started to slip away from the ruckus and cheer, helping each other to escape from time to time. They would walk the long hallway in somber silence, content with the other's presence. Knowing the other understood. Until they split ways. Thor would head towards the Bifrost, where he would ask Heimdall about how Jane was faring. Meanwhile Luciana would climb her way up one of the towers, where she would stay on the balcony and watch the stars above her head. It was the only time where she could be alone with her thoughts. And she sang, sang them out into the night.

She had always loved to sing ever since she had been a little girl. Thanks to her powers she could change her voice to copy whoever she wanted, making it possible to sing songs in a way no one else could. She could sing the same song many different times and yet it would never sound the same if she tweaked her voice to be different each time. When they were kids, her friends had often requested her to copy certain people, whether it was for fun or because they thought it would sound beautiful in a certain voice. To this day, she fondly remembered their smiles as they had watched her.

But right now Luciana sang in her own voice, not copying anyone. The gentle breeze carried the notes off into the night. And although she knew it wasn't possible, she imagined that the melody would reach the dungeons and the thought gave her comfort.

Just say it again and mean it
We don't miss a thing

It was one particular night after they had finally completed their task and restored the peace in the nine realms. The Allfather had called for an exceptionally grande feast. But as usual the two friends had slipped away. However, the next day she learned that Thor hadn't returned from his talk with Heimdall. Worried that something had happened, Luciana was on her way to the gatekeeper when suddenly she spotted the God of Thunder with a young woman in the grande hall. Curious but relieved by his return she called out to the prince as she ran towards them. "Thor, is that-"
"Yes. Luciana, this is Jane Foster. Jane, this is Lady Echo of Asgard. Don't be fooled by her delicate appearance, she packs a mean kick. She also has a bit of a cheeky streak, spent a bit too much time with my brother when we were chil- Ouch!"
The blonde man grimassed as Luciana dug her heel in his foot, preventing him from saying any more. She smiled at the slightly baffled woman and held out her hand. "I've heard so much about you already. It's nice to finally get to meet you!"
"Oh, uhm, likewise." Jane stammered, shaking the hand offered to her. "I, uh, I also know a bit about you. I mean, I saw you on TV fighting in New York. So, Thor he, he talks about me?"
"Oh, definitely, there's nothing he likes to talk about more. The man's like a lovesick teenager and-"
"Hey!" the prince interrupted her before she could say anything more embarrassing. Jane chuckled nervously, trying to hide the blush that had crept on her cheeks. Seeing that, Luciana grinned but swallowed the words she was about to say. "You can call me Lucy, that's what all my friends do."
The scientist nodded, giving her a slight smile. With the introductions out of the way, she turned back to the prince. "So, Thor- As happy as I am to finally get to meet your girlfriend, what exactly is she doing up here in Asgard? I don't think your father will be particularly thrilled when he finds out."
"Well…"

The two explained to Luciana what had happened on Earth and soon the three found themselves in a chamber with the healers who were examining Jane with stern expressions. It seemed like nothing was out of the ordinary, or more like they couldn't find anything that had caused her condition. But before they could discuss this any further, Odin appeared and as she had already surmised earlier, he wasn't happy to find a Midgardian in their midst.
"Send her back." he declared, leaving no room for debate.

However, as one of the guards tried to grab a hold of her, a red glow emanated from Jane's body. And suddenly a big shockwave sent the man flying. Everyone in the room felt the sheer force of it in their bones and Luciana stumbled, trying hard not to get knocked over. "What just happened?"
"Everyone get away from her!" the Allfather roared and soon the only ones left in the room were him, Thor, the unconscious Jane and Luciana. Carefully the king stepped closer to inspect the scientist himself, his face turning gradually more and more grim. He clearly wasn't happy with what he had found.

After Jane reawakened, he took the three of them to the ancient library where he told them about the Dark Elves, the Aether and the Convergence of the nine realms that was soon upon them. Both Thor and Luciana had heard those stories before when they were children. But they had thought the Dark Elves defeated and the Aether destroyed.

So, how could it flow through the veins of Jane Foster's body?

And convinced yourself that it's not the reason
You don't see the sun anymore
