Chapter Eleven: The Original Family

(Space)

Danny smiled as he watched his newest story. It was about a Viking boy by the name of Thorfinn as he prepared to go and raid England. It would certainly help pass the time as he drove Marduk crazy. The virus had spread from the ships on Viek to a majority of his fleet before Marduk found out when he had destroyed one of his ships. Marduk was now searching for his new enemy.

He was still undecided who he wanted him to attack first.

He looked to the left of his screen as a green portal appeared in his room. His duplicate came out of the portal with a smile on his face.

"How did it go?" Danny asked. The duplicate was back on earth carrying out his plans. King Henry and Queen Catherine had failed to find him a witch and so he had to resort to this. The Jaffa would send reports in from the duplicate for him to review and at the end of each month the duplicate would come so that he could absorb the knowledge he gained.

"I have captured the originals." Duplicate Danny said as he pulled the chair from his desk and took a seat.

Great so he had fulfilled his promise to Esther.

"How many Jaffa did we lose?" Danny asked. The duplicate was sturdy, but it was ordered to stay out of harm's way. It could not restore energy. Using even a bit of its powers meant that he would be weaker than when it was created. If there was any fighting to be done, then the Jaffa would do it.

"See for yourself." The duplicate said standing up and extending his hand.

"Alright." Danny said taking the hand and reabsorbing the duplicate and going through its memories of how it met the Original Family.

(Flashback)

(Copenhagen, Denmark 1559)

"That was very impressive." Danny said as he watched Niklaus Mikaelson win the archery competition.

"Do I know you?" Niklaus Mikaelson asked the man with white hair leaning over the fence.

"No, I have just arrived in the city, but I have heard of the Mikaelson family that throw very famous parties." Danny said. There was also word of dead bodies being found in the city more often since the family moved in, but it was too early to talk about that. Most in the city unaware just assumed wild animals.

"Our parties are invitation only." Niklaus said wondering what his blood would taste like.

"I can be a very fun guy once you get to know me." Danny said sticking his hand out in what most would assume would be a gesture of goodwill.

"I am not interested." Niklaus Mikaelson said.

Esther had warned him that Niklaus had trust issues and a wall of arrogance to prevent people from getting close to him. He used it hide his fear of being alone and his insecurities.

"I'll buy you a drink and we can see if your opinion of me won't change." Danny said.

"I never turn down a free drink." Niklaus said.

"That's good to hear." Danny said as the two of them started walking to the tavern that he had taken over.

"Nik, who is this?" Rebekah asked as she approached them.

"You must be the lovely Rebekah I have heard so much about. My name is Daniel Masters." Danny said as he bowed before her and created a bouquet of flowers before her.

"You certainly try to impress." Rebekah said as she took the flowers from him.

"You never said that you were a witch." Niklaus said surprised.

"You never said that you were a vampire." Danny said right back to him as he turned around. He did not deny the title. It was right from a certain point of view.

"What do you want?" Niklaus said. He was suspicious of all witches. Given his mother's actions was it any surprise? They either wanted something from him or wanted him and his family dead for being an abomination against nature. He was not against allying with witches for a bit, but it always ended up with them dead.

"I said I wanted to be friends." Danny said. "I offered to buy you a drink at the tavern remember." He needed to find out where the other two Mikaelson were being kept. The only one he had heard of being seen in the city were Rebekah and Elijah. That meant that Kol and Finn were daggered and hidden somewhere in Niklaus's estate. He rarely kept more than two siblings around at a time.

"May I come as well?" Rebekah asked.

"I would love nothing more." Danny said. Rebekah was a beautiful woman and if he had could not make friends with Niklaus he was more than ready to try with Rebekah.

"So where have you come from. I do not believe Daniel is a Danish name?" Niklaus asked.

"I come from a very far place called Dinai. I left because I wanted to see the world and meet new and interesting people." Danny said.

"What is Dinai like. I have never heard of it?" Rebekah asked.

"It is a beautiful place. I would love to show it to you one day." Danny said.

"Here are your drinks. "Chandri said as she arrived in front of their table.

She was a Jaffa warrior that he had gotten the owner to hire once he was under the influence of Nish'ta. The two of them had laced their drinks with the original's blood as they had discovered that when vampires drank it, they entered an intoxicated and euphoric state. Even the smell of the original's blood could cause them to be drawn into its addictive taste.

"This is amazing." Rebekah said as she took a deep sip.

The archduchess had told him that the small drop she had gotten was more delicious than any other person in the castle. The enhanced sense that came with being a vampire only made such a taste more addictive.

"You are right." Niklaus said.

"So, I was wondering if I could get an invitation to the next party your family is throwing?" Danny asked as he took a sip of his drink. It did nothing to him because the original's blood.

"Please Nik." Rebekah pleaded with her brother.

"Very well." Niklaus said. "We are having one in at the end of the week. You may come."

"Thank you. I will bring plenty of this with me." Danny said.

"Are you going to be staying here?" Rebekah asked.

"No. I have somewhere to do that requires my attention." Danny said. He had other tasks that he had to accomplish while the Original was away. He had the Jaffa scanning the world for fossils to be part of his museum he was building in France. Where it was going to be had yet to be decided but he wanted one. Replicas of the treasures from Osiris/Isis's pyramid were waiting to be transported to wherever it would be.

"Nice place." Danny said as he arrived and handed his gift to Niklaus. It was a sword that he had the blacksmiths at King Henry's castle forge as a gift. Vampires were known to be huge collectors as time went by so he knew that Niklaus would love having a gift like this.

"I only collect the best. I see you also brought barrels of ale and wine." Niklaus said.

"I saw how much you liked the ale we had a few days ago and so I ordered the barkeep to make more." Danny said. Also like the drinks they had together the ones he had brought had been spiked with the original's blood.

"That is wonderful. Now enjoy the festivities. I have brought the best entertainers around." Niklaus said. He had compelled them to not notice anything strange they saw or deny any request that they were given. There were jugglers, archers, dancers and more. There were animal tamers with lions and tigers.

"I will." Danny said as he started walking around looking at the people around him. He wondered how many of them were vampires. He could not risk using telepathy to scan their minds as they would notice.

"Who are you?" Lorena asked as she walked up to the human that was walking up to watch the jugglers.

"I am Daniel Masters. May I ask who this lovely woman is?" Dany asked with a smile.

"My name is Lorena." Lorena said wondering what his blood would taste like. Istvan would probably want him, but she wanted him for herself.

"Do not worry yourself over her. She is no one." Rebekah said gaining his attention. There was no way that she was going to let Lorena kill Danny.

"I did not take you for the Jealous type Lady Rebekah." Danny said with a smile.

"I do not let go once I have found something I like." Rebekah said with a smile.

"Neither do I." Danny said. "That is a lovely necklace you are wearing."

"It belonged to my mother." Rebekah replied.

"Why don't we walk around and talk? I love making new friends." Danny said as he saw that the vampires were drinking the wine he brought.

"I want to watch the jugglers a bit more. Be careful. You encounter the wrong kind of vampire, and you will wish you never asked to come." Rebekah said.

"I enjoy life with a little risk." Danny said. He walked to a vampire that was watching the archery competition below. "Hello. My name is Daniel Masters." He stuck out his hand.

"Roman Zimojic." Roman said moving his attention to the human that wanted his attention. He was still learning to tell the difference between vampires and humans Salome said it would take about three decades for him to gain that skill but the person in front of him did not smell like a vampire.

"Who do you think is going to win?" Danny asked.

"I believe that it is the one on the left." Roman said.

"I will bet you ten gold coins and a drink that it is the one on the right." Danny said.

"Your on." Roman said.

"Are we betting on something?" another vampire asked as he appeared before them.

"Hello Godric." Roman said nervously as he looked upon the older vampire. "We are betting on who is going to win this match." Danny said pointing at the archers that were currently matching arrow for arrow. The match was going to go on until one of them either missed or hit a lesser target.

"Very well but lets us make it more interesting. Whichever archer loses we are going to eat them and their families." Godric said that way no matter who lost at least he and Roman would have something to eat.

"That is kind of an overreaction." Danny said.

"Are you going to offer yourself in their place?" Godric asked wondering who this human was and how he would taste. If it was good, then he would share his blood with Godbrand and Eric.

"Try it and you will find yourself meeting the sun." Danny said as his fingers began to produce flames.

"You are arrogant I have slaughtered over a dozen witches that believed their magic would protect them." Godric said.

"You have never met someone like me." Danny said.

"I doubt that." Godric said.

"How about we all calm down and have a drink." Roman said.

"Very well." Danny said as he caused the cask of wine, he brought teleported in front of them levitating in the air.

"Nice trick." Godric said taking a cup and drinking some wine.

"What do you know about Godric?" Danny asked Roman.

"What I have heard is mostly rumor from others. He is a vampire that had been turned when the Normans were invading England and the other European countries. A violent nihilist that found joy in the suffering of others." Roman said.

"What are you doing?" Esther asked as she appeared next to him. He had been looking at the stars on the balcony and listening to the intoxicated vampires talk and scheme when she appeared.

"I am learning about the people in the estate." Danny said.

"You are supposed to be capturing my children so that they can be turned human." Esther said.

"I am working on it." Danny said. He was created by the original to make sure that this task was taken care of while the original was busy in space. At the end of the month, he was going to be absorbed back into the original for a progress report and so he wanted to experience life as much as he could.

"You could take them all right now." Esther said.

She certainly was very impatient.

"What are you doing up here?" Rebekah asked as she came through the attic window.

"I was watching the stars but now an even more beautiful one has taken my attention." Danny said as he smiled at Rebekah.

"I have been wondering where you have been staying?" Rebekah asked.

"I am staying in vacation in Paris right now. I just managed to hear about the parties that your brother has been holding." Danny said.

"You came all the way from Paris just for a party?" Rebekah asked.

"Not such a big deal when you have my skills." Danny said as he teleported a few feet back from her.

"That is a cool party trick." Rebekah said.

That was how his Friday nights and weekends passed. He hung around Niklaus, talked with vampires and flirted with Rebekah. He had met Elijah too, but they did not get on as well. He had the knowledge of how Elijah abandoned the Strix to be slaughtered by their father Mikael. He found it rather harsh how he left his followers to be the distraction while Mikael hunted them. He could have ordered them to flee and met up with whoever was left at a special location, but he abandoned them only to run into them four hundred years later.

The Strix had never forgiven him for that.

"You look beautiful." Danny said as he looked at Rebekah who was sitting at the fountain in the center of the city.

"I was wondering when you were going to show up." Rebekah said as she smiled at him and stood up flattening the wrinkles in her dress.

"Nothing could keep me away from you." Danny said. Klaus had warned him to stay away from Rebekah, but he was not going to be scared away by a vampire with control issues.

"Not even Niklaus?" Rebekah asked listening to the beat of his heart to tell if he was going to tell her the truth or a lie. She had met many people that claimed to not be afraid of her brother but they either ended up dead or lying to her.

"I would tell Niklaus to his face that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Danny said and felt Rebekah run to him and wrap her arms around him. He was happy to know that even at her top speed that he could still track her as she took each step. Unless the original's guard was down no vampire could sneak up on him if an Original couldn't.

"As much as I would like that you cannot say that to him as he would torture you until you begged for death." Rebekah said as she grabbed his hand and they started walking through the city towards a carriage that would lead outside the city. Niklaus had liked sending people to spy on him and so he had his dates with Rebekah outside of Copenhagen to Amagerbro. Lots of gambling to do, games to play, and people for Rebekah to eat.

"He could try but I doubt he could hold me." Danny said though he could see that Rebekah doubted him.

"Where are you taking me tonight?" Rebekah asked.

"It is a surprise. I had the entire night prepared." Danny said as they entered the carriage driven by a Jaffa and started travelling.

When they arrived, he walked them to a stage where a play was happening. It was telling the story of Romeo and Juliet, but he had altered it so that it fit more with the Viking theme. Two warring tribes that had been fighting for generations. Word had spread bringing entire groups of people here to see the tragic story.

"How did you hear of this?" Rebekah asked as she took a seat on the balcony.

"I know lots of people." Danny replied to her. Not telling her how he had infected the troupe owner with Nish'ta.

"That was so sad." Rebekah said wiping her eyes with a soft cloth that he had bought once they exited the play. Esther had told him that Rebekah would like love stories like this as it played closely to how she had lived since become a vampire. Falling in love and having lost them due to Niklaus. Her entire undead life could be considered a tragic love story.

"What are we doing here?" Rebekah asked. She could smell a group of people waiting in the bushes. If this was some sort of ambush, she would tear through them all.

"The night is not over. I wanted to show you something." Danny said as fireworks began to light up the sky. He used the fireworks to light up the sky and add color to the image of Rebekah's face that he was drawing in the sky. People all over the city could probably see it.

"So beautiful." Rebekah said with a smile on her face as she watched him alter the night sky to show her how much he liked her. Looking back at him she could see that they were surrounded by fireflies that were flying around them then coming to form a spiral that rose around them.

"How are you doing this?" Rebekah asked.

"We all have our skills and with a woman as beautiful as you a person can become very determined." Danny said watching as a blush rose to Rebekah's face.

Love was a special kind of magic and Rebekah was the type to fall in love very easily.

Danny smiled then bit his thumb and caused it to bleed. He watched as Rebekah's eyes darted to his thumb and her fangs elongated.

"Here." Danny said as he held his thumb up to her lips as she started to suck on it.

He teleported them back to room in an inn in the city that he had already paid for and kissed her hard.

"Have you ever thought of becoming a vampire?" Rebekah asked as he woke up next to her. She was happy with their relationship but eventually as the decades passed Danny would age and die while she remained the same age.

"Not really." Danny said.

"Would you ever want to be one?" Rebekah asked. She knew that witches loved their connection to nature and losing that would be crushing but she believed that he would eventually get over it.

"Not really." Danny said. His current status was better than a vampire. His abilities let him blend in better with people than theirs did and he already had all the advantages they had with none of the weaknesses. He also had no desire to have any traits in common with the Wraith.

"That means that we are going to part one day." Rebekah said.

He ignored her words and read her feelings. Her heart felt like it was breaking. She had not been so happy in a long time. Most of the men that she found interesting either fled in fear of their nature, betrayed her, or were killed by her brothers. Now was the time to tell her about his meetings with Esther.

"Not necessarily." Danny said.

"What do you mean?" Rebekah asked.

"Not here. For now, let us enjoy breakfast and the rising sun." Danny said with a smile as Rebekah leaned into him.

"Why have you brought us here?" Rebekah asked as they met in a field of wisteria flowers. For as romantic as Danny could be she also knew just how much he loved being dramatic. Sometimes it could be tiring.

"I have something that I want to tell you." Danny said.

"What is it?" Rebekah asked as she laid on the blanket that Danny put out.

"I have talked to your mother Esther." Danny said. Esther had told him many stories about their family. It was a way he could break apart their bond by revealing the truth Niklaus had hidden from his siblings for centuries. He did not want to do something that cruel unless he had no other choice.

"What do you mean?" Rebekah asked as she unconsciously touched the necklace she was wearing.

It had belonged to her mother, and she had taken it when she had found her body. All these centuries later and she still kept it.

"You know that witches go to the Other Side when they die. It takes very little to make contact with one or for them to make contact with the living." Danny said.

"What did she say?" Rebekah asked.

"She has seen your suffering for the past five hundred years and wanted me to comfort you." Danny said. Again, not a lie but not the whole truth.

"She has?" Rebekah asked. Though a part of her was angry at her mother for cursing her another was happy that her mother was still watching over her even if she could not see her.

"Yes. She wanted me to tell you that she wants to offer you a way to freedom." Danny said as he held her hands.

"What do you mean?" Rebekah asked.

"I mean she wants to turn all of you human again." Danny said.

"You must be joking." Rebekah said as she pulled away from him. "I have heard a similar promise from Alexander, and it ended with him betraying me and trying to put my family to sleep with those damn daggers. The cure is gone. The brotherhood of the five is dead."

Qestiyah had informed him about that. Back in 1110 her hunters had tried to put the Original family to sleep only it did not work because they stuck Niklaus with a silver dagger. They did not know it but in this universe when werewolves are stabbed with something silver they heal.

"The witch who made the cure is long dead which means she is on the other side. I am in contact with both of them." Danny said.

"Are you serious?" Rebekah asked.

"Yes. Esther feels like she made a mistake turning the lot of you and wants you to have the chance of a normal life again." Danny said.

"Nik would never want this. He loves being a vampire." Rebekah said.

She was clearly torn on who to side with. Her long wish was suddenly in front of her but all it would do was place her in danger because of Niklaus's love for power. If he turned human he would lose everything he loved. Power, strength, immortality, and an indestructible body.

However, that was not what Rebekah wanted and it was there that he struck. She had spent the last five hundred years feeling trapped in a cursed body.

"I know but think about it you would get to have the life that you always wanted. Having a family of your own and freedom from the desire for blood." Danny said

"I need time to think on this." Rebekah said.

"Alright just remember that Niklaus has been putting you and your siblings into enchanted sleep for decades as punishment." Danny said. Finn had it the worst given that he had remained daggered since that night with the Brotherhood.

(Flashback Interrupted)

"Sorry to bother you, my king." Irdu said as he opened the door.

"What is it?" Danny asked.

"You wanted to be made aware when Marduk challenged another god." Irdu said.

"Who has he challenged?" Danny asked.

"Pelops my king." Irdu said.

This would be useful. Pelops was like Nirtti a Goa'uld that focused on experimentation. Currently he was using nano-technology to manipulate the growth rate of human slaves and Jaffa warriors. If the two of them got into a fight then he would not notice when some of his subjects were being kidnapped. He would have preferred he destroy Zipacna but there was time as long as Marduk was alive.

"Tell the bridge to set course for Prius." Danny ordered Irdu.

"As you command." Irdu said.

(Flashback Resume)

"I really hope this works." Danny said.

"That is some nasty scheme you are brewing." Danny heard Lucien say as he turned around to see Lucien Castle and Eric Northman. They were vampires that belonged to Niklaus' s sireline. Lucien was the first vampire ever turned back in 1002 and Eric Northman was turned fifty years later. Great they managed to avoid all the compelled humans that were sent to spy on them and now Klaus was sending vampires.

"It is not nice to listen in on people's conversations." Danny said as he tried to figure out the easiest way to deal with them. His Jaffa were supposed to be doing the fighting, but they were not around, and it would take too long for them to arrive.

"It is not nice to betray the one you call a friend." Lucien countered.

"So, what do you think we should do with him Lucien. I am thinking of ripping his heart out." Eric said.

"As much as I would like to mutilate him Klaus would probably like to punish him himself." Lucien said.

"Like you really care what Niklaus wants." Danny said. Lucien hated the Mikaelson family. Reason One being Niklaus stealing the love of his life and two because of Elijah compelling him, Tristan, and Aurora to believe they were the Mikaelsons for a one hundred and twelve years. He had not gotten over that and was planning on getting revenge on them.

"You guys can walk away and pretend that you never heard any of this. I am giving you the option." Danny said.

"You really think you can take both of us. We could kill you before you could chant a spell." Lucien said.

"You may believe that but that does not make it the truth." Danny said and the moment the two of them tried to run at him he twisted his hand and snapped their necks watching as they dropped to the floor in unconsciousness.

"Just great. This is definitely going to move up the timescale." Danny said. Niklaus would eventually get suspicious when he failed to receive word from these two.

"Raios I need you to bring a group of Jaffa down to keep two prisoners secured." Danny said.

"We are coming my king." Raios responded.
