Uninvited

Chapter 20 – Here we go again.

No one's POV

Note: 28 years have passed since the last chapter.

It was just past 7:30 PM and in a quiet residential neighborhood, sat a black minivan. Parked under a streetlight, it's 3 occupants were talking amongst themselves.

In the driver seat was Tori West-Vega. In the passenger seat was a casually dressed young woman that looked remarkably like Jade, but with Tori's eyes. Her name was Alice Hardy Vega-West.

In the back seat, with a somewhat dour expression on her face, sat Jade West-Vega, Tori's wife of 26 years.

"This is weird. For the record of course." Remarked Jade, as she leaned back and sighed.

Alice looked towards Jade and frowned. "Mama, I thought you were all for this. Are you saying I shouldn't go?"

"No Princess" Tori said with a smile. "That's not what's Jade's saying she's just acknowledging the rather odd situation. She is in complete support of you."

Tori then turned to her wife. "Right dear?"

Jade nodded quietly.

A few weeks ago, Alice, while looking for something in the basement, found the original journal where Tori had planned her seduction of Jade. It wasn't a mere seduction of course, as her mothers were happily married. They weren't without problems, but the bond of love between them was very strong. She and her two sisters were products of a new technology allowing the combining of eggs and as a result, she and her sisters were truly their daughters. Alice, after reading the journal, realized that while Tori took a giant risk in getting Jade to realize her true sexuality and feelings, the result was magic.

Alice looked down at the large duffle bag and the large brown paper, bag that had a wonderful aroma of delicious Vietnamese food coming from it. She then looked to Tori. "Mom, ok it's a bit strange, you helping me set this up, but that's how you two started. Off. You're happily married, have three daughters and both are really successful. I had always thought you had just asked Mama out, but just showing up and announce your sleeping over. It was so beautiful, so romantic."

"So devious." Quipped Jade from the back seat.

"That Too." Acknowledged Alice with a nod. "But you're so happy. I want to be happy and I know Alison, her feelings are all locked up like mamas was. I love her and have been in love with her since that first day of soccer practice, freshman year at college."

Alice, now in her 3rd year of college was rivals and frenemies with a fellow player on her college soccer team. One she developed deep feelings for. It reminded her a lot of her own mothers' rivalry.

"Didn't she kick you in the knee that first day, Alice? "

"Didn't you pour coffee on Mom's head on her first day of Hollywood arts?"

Other than a low grumbling sound Jade said nothing.

Alice continued. "But when I found Mom's journal, where she planned it all out, I loved it. I knew this was the way. I had to try that with Kendra. I know she's just waiting to break out. I love her so much. And I know deep down she loves me." She then turned to Tori. "Thank you so much adapting this for today, for her and me."

"I helped too." Jade said pointedly. "Here I find you two, thick as thieves, all planning this repeat of history. And what was I to do? Besides, I had to. The dialogue you were writing, was terrible."

Alice, had approached her mother Tori and after saying how wonderful she thought it was, asked Tori for help. Tori, still very happily married, didn't think twice about helping to adapt, the plan for Kendra. Jade however, found out the next day and while rather tense about it, reluctantly agreed to help as well.

Tori quickly huffed and looked to her wife. "My dialogue worked on you."

A pout formed on Jade's face. "You caught me at a weak moment."

Jade appeared to gather her thoughts and turned towards Alice. "Alice. You're our youngest daughter and I know once you have your mind set, it won't be changed. Lighting struck once; it may not again, regardless, how you plan out the evening. If you play the game, you must able to handle how to lose. You play this wrong; it could blow up in your face, or someone else's. Now I helped plan this. But you had to agree on two things in return for that help and what are they?"

"Alice nodded. "First, No, means no. Period. And the second is, that once I'm inside, I am on my own. No exceptions."

Jade nodded with a serious look. "Right. Once inside, you're on your own, if an axe murder breaks in, you call the cops. If the house catches fire, call the fire department. As far as the first. It's clear. Your drive card is paid up, so if you have to leave. You can get a ride home. Or your sister Carrie, said she has nothing going on. In fact, she'd prefer you come over to her apartment.

"I know she texted me."

"Good, you can stay there for the evening, if this doesn't work out. Otherwise, you can come home. I hope you find what you're looking for in there. If may not be. Just don't hurt her or get hurt. Good luck baby."

Tori looked at Alice, smiled and gave her daughter a kiss on the cheek. "Good luck."

Alice, grabbed her bags and smiled at her mothers, got out of the car and walked towards a modern looking house across the street.

As Alice walked across the street, she thought about how lonely Kendra always looked. The only time she didn't is when they were bickering in practice or on the side lines. She never dated and more and more Alice concluded that Kendra harbored deep feelings for her. If true, Kendra hid it extremely well, underneath a layer of rivalry and hostility. She also concluded that Kendra was too afraid to act on any feeling she had. Kendra, was smart and beautiful and every time she said Alices name, Alice, felt special. There as more than that, but she felt, that lighting could strike again. More than anything, she wanted a relationship like her mothers.

Wordlessly, Jade moved to the front seat and took Tori's hand. Quietly the two watched as Alice walked up to the door.

Arriving at the door, Alice, took a deep breath, and rang the bell.

After a minute the door swung open and, in the door, stood the blonde, Kendra, who looked at her with a mixture of surprise, anger and something else Alice, suspected.

"What are you doing here Alice!" Snapped Kendra.

Much to Kenda's surprise, Alice walked right past her into the house and dropped her bags on the floor.

"Woah, that was heavy. To answer your question, I've come to sleep over at your house. You've been cooped up in here alone too long. We're going to have so much fun." Alice said, with a bright smile.

Both Alice's mothers were watching the door, but it remained closed. "She'll be crushed if it doesn't work. Not to mention Kendra, what will happen to her." Jade remarked, a hint of anger in her voice.

Tori continued to watch the door of Kendra's house, for any sign that Alice may come back out. "You could have talked her out of it. Or tried at least. You could have talked me out of it. Ok it's a bit weird. But it did work. It could again. Why do you wish….."

Jade fiercely cut Tori off. "Don't you dare think for a second, I didn't wish you showed up on my doorstep all those years ago. It was beautiful, you made me realize that not only was I lesbian but I love you. And I have ever since, we have a life together, 3 beautiful girls and I would give that up for anything. This has nothing to do with us or a Friday night all those years ago. This has to do with tonight and two girls, who could really get hurt. You're obviously fine with this and I do understand why, but I am entitled to be a bit concerned."

Tori suddenly lowered her head, "I'm sorry baby."

Tori reached out and took Jade's hand again. "I should have talked about this more before starting to plan with Alice. I'm sorry." She then started up the car. "Come on. She's in. "Laurie's band is on stage in about 20 minutes. How about we catch her their first set.

Jade nodded and they continued down a rock club called, The Matterhorn. After paying their way in, they were able to find a table and sat down. The band playing was called "Chemical pregnancy" and was an all-girl band that mixed traditional Goth music with more contemporary styles. Their oldest daughter, Laurie, played bass.

The band started with a rousing cover of "Christine" by Siouxie and the Banshees and withing moments of them starting, the club filled up with excited fans. The energy level was off the charts and both Tori and Jade watched their daughter with Pride. Laurie, a graduate of Hollywood Arts, had been in a number of bands since graduation, but this one had really taken off. While they hadn't hit the big time quite yet, they were in constant demand in the local rock clubs.

A few minutes, after the band's first set ended, Laurie, dressed all in black, with black hair and a face half painted white, sat down and gave a smirk, much like her mothers.

"So did you drop her off?" Asked Laurie

Jade gave a cautious nod. "Yes."

"She's quite confident. She really does love Kendra."

Laurie appeared to think for a moment. "That is without question, considering how much she ranted about her. But are the feeling mutual?"

"Let's hope so." Tori said with crossed fingers. "You were great tonight."

"Yes, you were." Jade noted with pride.

"Thank you, mama Jade, mama Tori. I'd love to talk and stay, but my band mates and I are thinking of changing the set list for the second show, so we have to decide. You staying for the 2nd show?"

Jade shook her head. "No. Not tonight. We want to be home, in case your sister calls."

Laurie, kissed both her mothers on the cheek and vanished backstage.

Jade did want to be home in case Alice called, but more than that she just wanted to be alone with her wife. There was still tension between them, she wanted to work it out and if things went well, make love to her wife. Judging by the look in Tori's eyes, Jade knew she wanted the same.

"Come on Tori, let's go home." Jade said as she took Tori's hand.

The time jump was kind of a surprise, but I thought it interesting to see one of their daughters trying the same thing. Will things work out? Will Tori and Jade smooth things over? We shall find out.
