A/N: Hey there, everybody! It's me, MBAV fan66! And I'm comin' at ya with the next chapter of The Mercenary Wizard! :D

Ok, so this chapter wasn't as short as I thought it was gonna be. But don't worry, though! It's also not one of my more super long ones, either. Lol! Anyway, this chapter will mostly cover what it is Benny was hired to do in Whitechapel. As well, as him meeting his employer face-to-face for the first time. So, it'll probably be a somewhat boring chapter, though. But hey! A chapter is a chapter, am I right?! ;D Lol! :P

Um...well, that's just about all I can say at the moment without giving too much away. *giggle* But I do hope you all enjoy reading the latest chapter of the story, though! :D So, um...yeah! Happy reading! :D

But first, some shout-outs to these lovely people!:

Benny's life in the shadows is about to be brought into the light and get better from there, eventually in the story! You'll see! ;D

Bennyweirlover17- Aww! Thank you! And I'm glad you're loving it so much, so far. :D Here's hoping I can keep the momentum up, as the rest of the story unfolds. *giggle* ;P Also too, thank you for adding this story to your favorites and follow lists. I very much appreciate it! :D

Once Benny had checked in to his room and was all settled in, he checked the time. "Guess I better get going to go meet with the client and see what it is exactly they want me to steal, along with the rest of the details that go along with the job, as well." stated Benny to himself, even though he was a bit tired with jetlag from his travels and could really use some rest, right now. But duty calls and he was getting paid a ton of money for this job, too. So, he reluctantly got up off the bed, grabbed his room's keycard from the table, and put on his jacket before leaving the small hotel room he was staying in.

Since Benny didn't have a vehicle of his own, he had to rely either on public transportation or his own two feet to get him where he wanted to go. He probably could've just stolen himself a car and either hotwire it or just spell it to start up for him without the key. But then it would be reported stolen by the police and right now, he really didn't want the local authorities breathing down his neck the entire while trying to do his job. Or the hassle to ditch the car somewhere before he wound up caught red-handed by them, as well. So, for now, public transportation and walking were his best two options.

"I really need to get a car. Or at the very least, learn that teleportation spell." sighed Benny dejectedly as he exited the hotel building. Thankfully, though, it was a nice day out today. So, he just decided to walk to his client's house instead rather than just calling a cab to take him there. Besides, walking there would give him the chance to get to know his surroundings better. You know, the lay of the land, if you will. Or in his case, perhaps a little sightseeing since that's one of the good things about this job. Being able to travel to new and exciting places sometimes that he's never been to before. And Whitechapel, Canada was definitely a place he's never been to before, either.

After some time of walking, Benny was exhausted. He didn't realize just how far away his client had lived from where he was staying while in town. "I should've brought me an energy potion or something." complained Benny tiredly. "Maybe I can stop at a convenience store on my way there and buy me an energy drink instead to help get me going again?" he thought out loud to himself for a minute, before realizing the flaw in his ideas. "Nah! Energy potions and energy drinks wouldn't do a thing for my physical tiredness, though. Which totally blows, right now." concluded Benny disappointedly with a shake of his head. Then he sighed. "Guess I'll just have to suck it up and carry on my not-so-merry way, then." he stated dreadfully before continuing his walk down the street.

Eventually (about 25 minutes later after his brief earlier stop), the young wizard had finally made it to his destination. But just to be sure, he pulled out this little piece of paper that had an address written on it. Benny doubled checked the address on the paper with the address on the building he was currently standing in front of, to make sure they matched. Sure enough, they did.

Benny was a little bit amazed by how big the place was. It was a grand old Victorian styled house but kept in good condition, though. Benny could tell that the house has definitely been around for a long time. It probably held a lot of history there, but then again on his walk here a lot of the houses and buildings in town looked to be built somewhat a long time ago. Maybe not all from the same period, but they were still all old-looking, though. Whitechapel must be one of those little historical towns or something, where almost everything in it is ancient.

After confirming that this was indeed the place, he was to meet his client at, Benny repocketed the piece of paper and made his way up the sidewalk that led to the porch. Once he was on the porch, he rang the doorbell and patiently waited for someone on the other side to answer the door.

A couple of minutes later, a man with eyeglasses on had answered the door. The man in question was an older gentleman, probably in his 50's or 60's since his hair was already grey. The guy had on a suit which gave Benny the impression that this guy was very professional and all about getting down to business with very little room for any funny business or antics. And if the suit wasn't enough to give you that impression then the stoic and very serious expression that the man held on his face, would then. Like seriously, Benny has only just met the guy and can already tell that this dude hardly ever smiles, probably!

"Who are you and what do you want?" greeted the man rather rudely, as he stared down at Benny with an unwelcoming scowl.

"Uh...ok. So, much for a friendly 'may I help you?'." awkwardly snarked Benny in response.

"Look, young man. Whatever it is you're selling, I'm not interested. Goodbye." replied the man unamusingly with a straight face still, before getting ready to close the door in Benny's face.

However, Benny quickly spoke up before he could completely shut the door. "Wait! I'm Benny! Benny Weir? The guy you uh...hired?" he blurted out urgently while stating his business for being here and trying to remain as discreet as possible about it, as well. Just in case there was anyone around (mainly in the house) that shouldn't be knowing about their private business arrangement with each other.

The man stopped midway through closing the door to open it back up fully again. "Ah, yes. You must be the mercenary wizard that I hired to retrieve something for me, then. Come in." said the man in realization, but with very little excitement or enthusiasm in his tone as he said it, though, all while also keeping his very serious expression on his face, as well. The man then stepped aside so that Benny may enter his home.

"Thanks." was all Benny said to the man before entering the house.

Once inside, Benny saw that the place looked even more impressive inside than it did outside, as well. A lot of the furniture was antiques and the place looked really clean and tidy, too. "Man! I wish I lived in a place like this. It's so...fancy looking and old." he thought impressively to himself, as he glanced around the room, they were currently in.

"Follow me. We can discuss business in my study." stated the man after closing the door.

Benny gave a slight nod first, before then following the man further into his home to the study.

Once they reached the study, the man then closed the double doors that led to it for privacy. Although Benny didn't really see any reason why closing them matters, considering it appears that they're the only two people in this entire place. But it was whatever to Benny. Instead, just chalking it up to it being part of the guy's whole... 'Mr. Serious All The Time' personality. Don't get the young wizard wrong, though! He can be all serious and down to business, too! When it calls for it, that is. It's just...he preferred to have a little bit of fun and amusement in his life more than just being serious all the time, is all. You know, life to the fullest and whatnot. He just hoped that he doesn't wind up turning into this guy when he gets older. The very thought of it just made Benny wanna cringe and dread what the future may hold for him in his retirement years. So, he doesn't think about it.

After closing the doors, the man then walked over towards this large wooden desk and took a seat in the big comfy-looking chair that was behind it. "Please, Mr. Weir. Have a seat." politely ordered the man, as he gestured towards the other chair that sat in front of the desk for guests.

Benny obliged and made his way over to the offered-up chair. "So, what's with closing the doors? Aren't we like...the only the two here? So, what's with all the privacy?" questioned Benny curiously, as he approached the chair and then sat down in it.

"Nothing. It's only common courtesy to close the door when conducting private business." answered the man.

"But...aren't we the only ones here?" asked Benny in confusion.

"We are." simply answered the man.

"Ok...but still, though...?" replied Benny still not getting it until the man rudely cut him off.

"Call it a force of habit, if you will." stated the man bluntly in annoyance. "Now, then...can we please get down to business, Mr. Weir? I hate dawdling and my time being wasted." he then asked impatiently in a rude and demanding kind of way.

"Yes, sir. My apologies." apologized Benny politely, although on the inside this guy's attitude was starting to get on his nerves now. But he kept it together. Then Benny noticed something else about the man. His desk (along with everything else in the room and house) was also very tidy and neat looking, too. "This guy is really well organized, huh?" thought Benny internally, as he noticed how everything on the desk had its own proper place and that there wasn't even a speck of dust in sight on the wooden desk, too. And any papers on the desk were neatly piled up in perfect little stacks off to the sides. Benny could only wish he was that well organized himself. But sadly, if this was his desk then there would most likely be papers, books, and no telling what else all scattered about on it.

"Good." said the man. "As you know, I've hired you to do a job for me. To um...retrieve something of value for me. Is that correct?" stated the man vaguely.

Benny nodded. "That is correct, sir. But...if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is it that you want me to retrieve for you, anyway? I can't do my job unless I know what it is I'm looking for." replied Benny a tad bit curiously to the man. When the man had originally contacted him from the beginning, that was one of the things the guy never mentioned to him over the phone about. Which was what it was that the man wanted him to steal. All he said on the phone was, "I'd like to hire your services to retrieve something for me. Something...special, that he needs."

The serious scowl never once left the man's face, as he gave his answer. "Of course, not, Mr. Weir. I suppose I should've told you that bit of information sooner, but it was something I thought best to be mentioned in person, though." he answered. "Anyway, regardless of all that now, the object that I wish you to seek and retrieve for me is a powerful object called the Lucifractor." he stated simply, as he reached down to open a drawer on the desk and then pulled out a yellow folder. He closed the drawer and placed the folder down on top of the desk in front of Benny.

Intrigued, Benny picked up the folder and opened it to view its contents. Inside was a bunch of papers either printed off or copied from somewhere, handwritten notes (probably from his client himself), and photos of all kinds of stuff. Benny was impressed. This guy had really done his research on this thing, huh?

"It was created by my ancestor Galen Sinisterro and was designed to absorb and contain dark energy. It was made to be a weapon of sorts against vampires. My family has a long-standing hatred for these blood-sucking creatures, ever since they came to town and took over." explained the man suddenly, as Benny continued to look through the folder's contents. Even though Benny wasn't looking at him, he was still listening attentively to what the man was telling him, though. "Unfortunately, my ancestor never got the chance to complete his mission of ridding the town of bloodsuckers, though." added the man somewhat dishearteningly/disappointingly.

Benny then looked up from the folder to look at the man curiously. "Really? What happened to him?" asked Benny quizzically.

A very bitter and displeased scowl then fell onto the man's face at the mere thought of the answer to that question. "He was killed before he could get the job done." answered the man venomously. Benny knew that the venomous tone in which the man had answered in wasn't directed towards him, but rather towards the ones or one who killed his ancestor.

Before Benny could ask who had killed him, the man continued speaking and had unknowingly answered his unspoken question. "By a vampire who had tricked him long enough to allow him to let his guard down so that he may swoop in and kill him from behind. Once the vampire was done draining him of his blood, he ripped his head off for no reason except for fun. A bit overkill if you ask me. After that, the vampire then took the Lucifractor and it was never seen again." explained the man.

Benny could see the deep-rooted hatred that this man held for vampires and after hearing the story about what happened to his ancestor, he kinda understood why he hated them so much. But then he remembered that the man has said that his family had hated vampires well before Galen Sinisterro's death, though. Mainly because they took over town with their kind. Which to Benny, isn't exactly a very good reason to hate someone so much, though. As long as they're not running around wreaking havoc on innocent people while going on a killing spree. Or trying to enslave innocent people into doing their bidding and treating them like crap. Besides, don't vampires deserve a place to live and call home, as well? Sure, they're not exactly the most good-natured and well-behaved creatures in the world and are instead creatures of darkness. Not to mention, they can also be real jerkwads who love to use threats and violence to get what they want. And they can be real mean, too. But...that didn't mean they should all be dead, though. Right? They're still living beings. Ur...um...undead living beings, that is. Either way, they still deserved a chance at life, though! Plus...surely not all vampires are bad. Right? Not that he's ever met any nice ones before, that is. But you never know. The world can surprise you sometimes, ya know?

"Ok...so what? You want me to track down this vampire and steal it back from him?" guessed Benny puzzlingly with a raised brow at the man.

"No. I've already taken care of finding the Lucifractor's current location. I just need you to steal it for me, is all." explained the man.

"Ok. Then where is it?" asked Benny.

"Check the folder some more. Information is in there." replied the man, pointing at the folder in Benny's hand.

So, Benny opened it back up, again, and searched through the papers in it some more. Until one of the sheets of paper stood out to him more and he found what he was looking for. He then silently read it.

"The Lucifractor is located in a small family's home, here in Whitechapel? How did go from being in the hands of vampires to being in a human family's home?" wondered Benny perplexingly, as he looked up from the folder again.

"Oh, trust me, Mr. Weir. That family isn't as human as you think." answered the man vaguely with a grin. Benny just looked at the man quizzically, still understanding what he's getting at, here. So, the man explained further. "The Morgan family are like you and me, Mr. Weir. We may be physically human, but we have special abilities that also make us NOT human, as well. Like magic." explained the man, now fully back into his serious mode, again.

Benny just nodded along, knowing that much about him not technically being a hundred percent human himself because he was a wizard. Although Benny did have to wonder, though... Whether or not if this guy in front of him was also supernatural in some way, too? He must be after what all Benny's heard so far about this guy's ancestor and how he created this thing called the Lucifractor to destroy vampires with. But just to be sure, he asked him, anyway.

"Are you a... wizard, too? Because it sure sounds like you are to me, pal." asked Benny curiously.

A smug smile then showed itself on the man's face at Benny's question. "That is correct, Mr. Weir. I am also a wizard. Like you, I come from a very long line of magic users, as well. I'm glad you were able to pick up on that, Mr. Weir. It shows me that you've been listening." replied the man with pride in his voice when he spoke about his heritage as a wizard.

Although Benny didn't much appreciate the slight bit of arrogant mocking in the man's tone about him at the end there. But he kept it to himself, though. No need to make the client mad at him, if he wanted to get paid.

The man then went back to explaining the current situation at hand, here. "Now back to business. The Morgan family also has a long-standing family history of magic users running in their family tree, as well. But you see, in this family, the magic-user has gone and married himself a seer. So, the family is made up of not only magic users but also seers, as well. Making them even more formidable foes to deal with. I already know which family member is what in this little family of theirs when it comes to their powers. The father and daughter are both spell casters, whereas the mother and son are both seers." informed the man seriously.

Benny nodded, knowing very well what all seers can do. "Sounds like this won't be as easy of a task as I thought it would be, after all, then." thought Benny contemplatively to himself. "But how did the Morgan family wind up coming in possession of the Lucifractor, though?" asked Benny curiously.

"I'm not sure, actually. All I know is that it's been in the Morgan family's possession for generations now. I believe they are the guardians of it to keep it from falling into the wrong hands." answered the man earnestly.

"Then how come you need my services, then? If you already know where it is then why don't you just get it yourself, then?" wondered Benny in confusion.

A heavy scowl befell upon the man's face then. "I've tried." he bluntly answered unhappily. "But they wouldn't listen to reason and could tell that I was up to no good the moment they saw me. The wife was able to pick up on my bad aura when she answered the door and had refused to let me in. When I had explained to them why I was there and that the Lucifractor belonged to my family, they immediately shut me down on the matter. Refusing to hand it over." he explained a bit bitterly as if offended by it. "With no other options left, I left peacefully after that when they closed the door in my face. I could've taken them on right then and there, but I didn't want to cause a scene in public since we were in a populated neighborhood in broad daylight. Too many prying eyes for my liking." continued the man with a little less bitterness in his tone, this time.

"The reason I need you to infiltrate the Morgan residence and to steal back the Lucifractor for me is because I can't do it myself since they now know what my face looks like and what I'm after, as well. So, I need someone that they don't know and who is skilled at this sort of thing to do it for me. Now, I've heard some good reviews about your work, so far, Mr. Weir. Which is why I decided to go with you." praised the man impressively a bit, but still keeping his domineering and authoritative expression, though. "Plus, since you're a wizard, like me, I'd be happy to mentor you on your magic more properly, if you'd like. Assuming, you can get the job done, that is." stated the man a bit conceitedly then, as he made Benny a possible offer to sweeten the pot a little should he choose to once he completes the job. The man grinned a little at that. He already knew that Benny had no one left in his life to help teach him magic. So, why not take on the young aspiring wizard to help better his future as a powerful wizard. Besides, he could use an apprentice considering he has no children of his own to pass on his family's legacy and fortune to.

As tempting as the offer was, Benny wasn't quite sure if he actually wanted to learn magic from this guy. Something told him that learning magic from this guy probably wasn't going to be as easy or as fun as it was when he used to practice with his grandmother. Nope. Instead, learning from this guy was probably going to be more like a magic boot camp or something! Not something he was interested in going, exactly. Especially, considering he didn't do too well under pressure.

"Thanks. But um...I think I'll pass on the magic lessons, if you don't mind. I'm just interested in getting the job done so I can get paid and move on to the next one, mister." awkwardly replied Benny hesitantly, but also politely as can be to the guy.

The man took no offense to Benny's polite rejection of his offer. Instead, he just leaned back in his chair with a simple little shrug. "Suit yourself, Mr. Weir. But the offer still stands should you change your mind about it, though. It can be hard for a young wizard to learn everything there is to know about magic in the world on their own, without the proper guidance. But have at it, young man." said the man nonchalantly but with a bit of arrogance in his tone, as well.

Benny just gave the guy a look before then looking back down at the folder, again. He didn't much like how this guy was talking down to him like a child or something. "Why does this job always entail me to work for a bunch of arrogant pricks who think they're better than me? Would it kill them to at least treat me with some respect and gratitude for once? Like maybe someone is appreciative of my work and doesn't treat me like a child or some lackey of theirs." thought Benny spitefully to himself. "I suppose arrogance just goes along with being evil, I guess." he then rhetorically thought to himself, as he mentally sighed along with it, as well.

As he was looking through the papers once more, he spotted a page that had a drawing of what the Lucifractor looked like on it, along with some handwritten scribbles and words on the page, as well. But they were old-timey looking, and the handwriting was hard to make out, too. Benny figured this must've been a page that his client's ancestor had written about it, long ago. Detailing everything it does and what it looks like, too. And according to the drawing, the Lucifractor was a purple glowing, glass orb that had these two golden bands with strange little engravings in another language on it, wrapped around its mid-section, horizontally. It didn't really look all that impressive looking in the drawing to Benny, but then again...it was just a drawing of it, though. The real might wind up looking just as cool as the drawing does.

"I'm assuming this is what it looks like, then?" asked Benny, as he held up the page with the Lucifractor drawing on it to the man."

"Indeed, it is, Mr. Weir." confirmed the man with a nod. "I know it's just a drawing on what it looks like, but I'm afraid that's all I have to go on with what it looks like. There hadn't been any pictures taken of it over the years since then, due to the vampires wanting to keep it a secret from the world. So, a page from Galen's notes with it drawn out on it is all I have to go by, I'm afraid. I'm just glad that some of his notes and journals on magic were able to be saved by his family before the Council was able to destroy them, back then, after his death." he explained a little bit disappointedly at first, but then his tone took on a more relief sounding tone when he mentioned how grateful he was that some of Galen's things were able to be saved from destruction at the hands of the Vampire Council.

"Saved? By whom?" wondered Benny curiously.

"His wife and kids." replied the man. "Galen was the leader of a group of wizards called The Order. Most of the members were all part of the Sinisterro family, but there were a few of them who weren't. Like his wife. Before confronting the vampires with the rest of The Order members, Galen instructed his wife to stay behind with their kids to look after them. Unfortunately, a while later, she had gotten word about his death in battle from one of their lower-ranking members who had managed to slip away with his life to inform her that The Order had lost the fight and had been all killed. After that, Galen's wife feared that the vampires would then come for her and Galen's children next to end The Order completely. So, she quickly packed some of her and the kids' things up, and whatever else she could carry, and left town. She was even able to salvage some of her late husband's things and take them with her, as well, before skipping town. And her hunch was right, too. Because a while later their house was set on fire, destroying almost everything in it." he then explained, going a little further into detail on the matter.

"So... this house hasn't been your family for generations, then?" inquired Benny curiously.

"Yes and no. After she left, she sold the house and didn't bother coming back to Whitechapel, ever again. In fear that if she did, then the vampires here would want to finish what they started. So, out of fear for her and her children's safety, she stayed away. Whoever had bought it must've fixed it up and rebuilt the burned-down part of the house. Anyway, it wasn't until many years later that a Sinisterro family member decided to move back to Whitechapel and that person was me. I saw that this place was up for sale once again. So, decided to buy it and move in, reclaiming our long-forgotten ancestral home, again." replied the man honestly. "Apparently, none of my siblings or other family members care about our family's legacy in this town. Except for me. Instead, for generations since then, it appears that every member born into this family has decided to turn their nose up at it. Not wanting anything to do with that part of our family name. Instead, they much rather just live normal lives or use their magic only to help others. Frivolous things compared to our family's true legacy in this town. But...apparently, the events that had led to Galen and The Order's demise were enough to per sway not only his wife to give up on their goal of removing all vampires from Whitechapel, but future generations of our family, as well. Including, his children. The grudge our family has had with the vampires for centuries now, has been forgotten and lost, all because of one failure back then." stated the man a bit disappointedly and bitterly about his family's lack of wanting to continue their family's long-standing legacy as powerful spell casters who once watched over this town.

"But not anymore. I refused to give up on our family's legacy ever since the day I found out about it. If the rest of the family wants to wash their hands of it, then so be it. But I, Gideon Stern, won't! And I will finish what Galen started, all those years ago, too! I shall be the one who takes back Whitechapel from the vampires, and nothing shall stand in my way from completing my family's legacy, either!" ranted the man (now identified as Gideon Stern) with conviction and determination in his voice and eyes as he spoke.

Although, as Benny saw it, he just sees a mad man on a possible suicide mission. But it wasn't his place to judge, though. If this guy wanted to rid the town of vampires in the name of his family and revenge, then so be it. Besides, even though he didn't agree with the idea of a mass vampire genocide, it wasn't like Benny had any vampire friends living here or anything. Or any friends at all, for that matter (because he was a lone wolf, er...wizard, after all). So, why does he care? But hey! At least, he now knows the name of his employer, though! At least, something good came out of having to hear this guy's long-winded backstory about his family and their so-called legacy in this town.

"Once all these...bloodsucking vermin have been eradicated, the town will once again belong to The Order. And then I shall rebuild The Order back to its original glory with new members and keep this town safe from further supernatural scum, like vampires, from entering." declared the man (Gideon Stern).

"That's all well and good, sir. But...um...I was just curious. Should I call you Gideon now, since you kinda told already me your name during your little uh...ranting session, there?" carefully questioned Benny out of curiosity.

"Don't be absurd! Of course not!" exclaimed the man heatedly in offense to Benny's question. "It is unprofessional to call one's boss by their first name, Mr. Weir. Only my friends and family may address me by my first name. And you, sir, aren't." he then stated/reprimanded in a snobbish manner, as he adjusted his glasses before turning his nose up at the young wizard.

"Then what would you prefer me to call you then, huh?" tensely asked Benny, as he narrowed his eyes at the man. He didn't like how rude the guy's answer was to him or even the look he gave him when he said it. Benny got that the guy was well mannered and proper-like, but that didn't mean he had to be rude, though. Isn't being courteous and polite to your guests also part of proper etiquette and professionalism, too?! Benny was ready for this meeting to be over with, already. So, he can go back to his hotel room and start mapping out his plan of action on how to nab the Lucifractor from its protectors.

"You may address me as Mr. Stern when speaking with me, Mr. Weir." haughtily answered Mr. Stern.

"Right." was all Benny said to him, flatly with the expression to match. "Well, you don't have to call me Mr. Weir all the time, either. You can just call me Benny." informed Benny politely to Mr. Stern. Calling him by his last name all the time just seemed weird to him. Not to mention, it made him sound like he's an old man or something, too!

"Again. Not very professional, Mr. Weir." replied Mr. Stern bluntly with a serious expression on his face.

Benny's dull and unamused expression from earlier also didn't change before he then let out a tired-sounding sigh. "Right." he sighed out. "Mr. Weir it is, then." he boredly said in disappointment, then. "So, is there anything else I should know about this job before I leave?" he asked curiously since it appears they're almost done here.

"No, Mr. Weir. That is all." replied Mr. Stern casually. "But do not fail me, Mr. Weir. Or else." he then said to Benny in a low warning-like tone as glared seriously at him, as well.

Benny was pretty sure that was a threat, but he let it go because he always finishes a job. No matter what.

The two men then stood up from their chairs, as the meeting was drawing to a close now.

"You have my number, if you need to reach me should anything new about the job comes up." stated Benny.

"Same with me, also." stated Mr. Stern, as well, but with a slight nod of his head, though. "I'll be in touch."

"Right." was all Benny had to say to that.

"It's a pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Weir." said Mr. Stern in a respectful and well-mannered way, as he held out his hand for a handshake.

"Ditto." was Benny's response, as he firmly shook Mr. Stern's hand in agreement.

"Then that does it for this meeting, then. I trust that you can show yourself out, then?" dignifiedly asked Mr. Stern, then. Benny nodded a yes. "Good." was all Mr. Stern had to say about Benny's answer. "Good luck, Mr. Weir, in retrieving what it is I seek. Now, if you'll excuse me. I have other things to tend to. Farewell, Mr. Weir. It was nice meeting you." he then said courtly to Benny before leaving the room and heading down the hallway in the opposite direction they had walked through earlier on their way to the study.

Benny stood there for a minute and watched him leave. Once Stern was gone, he took one more look around the fancy and well-kept study he was in. Admiring its elegance and all of the ancient (and probably magical) info stored within it, as well. "Grandma would love this place." he thought fondly to himself with a small smile. But there was also a small ache in his heart, too, when he thought about it. He missed her, still. And every time his mind would drift back to fond memories of his grandma, Benny couldn't help but always feel just a little bit sad about it, too.

After that, the young mercenary wizard decided it was time for him to go, now. So, he left the study and the rest of the house, too.

A/N: And there's chapter 2! :D What did you think?

Sorry, about the long and unnecessary explanation part about Stern's family backstory and whatnot. I was going to take it out, but changed my mind. So, sorry if it got a bit longwinded and boring there for a second. Lol! :P Or repetitive in some parts, too. You all know how I am when I write. *giggles* ;P

Anyway, now you all know who it is that Benny's working for and what it is he's supposed to do. But the question is...will he be able to pull it off, though? ;) *giggle* :P

That's it from me for now, I guess. Gotta get started on the next chapter, you know. ;D Thanks for reading and until next time, I'll be seeing you all around! Bye! :D
