Hello, Hello!
I'm gonna keep this really, really short. Because there is really no reason for me to explain to you all why I haven't been updating more often. Things happen, it's life. Anyways, this chapter is longer than most of my others. It took me a long time to do this one because I had to come up with new transformation sequences, names for the Senshi, names for the enemies and how to put all the plots together without seeming to rushed and stuff. Anyways, this chapter is chalk full of drama, action and a new romance! I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 9: Awaiting Destiny
Mizuki stared down at the lined paper before her, haphazardly placed in the middle of her desk. Her pencil and eraser were askew and she had taken up doodling instead of listening to her teacher lecture about Japan's history. She found this class rather dull, to be honest. And this wasn't the first time she hadn't payed attention, but she was even ignoring her friend who sat beside her at their tables. Mizuki could just barely register the fact that the tall boy, brown hair, green eyes, handsome, her age… was poking her in the side. He was seeking her attention for something and it wasn't until the end of class did he finally get Mizuki's attention. The lecture was over and with 5 minutes left, the teacher gave the rest of the time to the students to sit back and await the bell.
"Hey Mizuki!" Mizuki gasped at the sound of her name being whispered loudly in her ear. She turned, wide eyed and mouth agape to acknowledge Lyle, an exchange student from Ireland whom she had known for only a week now. It was incredible how quickly the friendship between these two grew, but Mizuki always found herself to be slightly irritated by the mocking, childish nature of the carefree boy. "Earth to Mizuki, is anyone home?"
"What do you want?"
"I want a lot of things, but I can't have them all." He had a slight Irish accent, but he spoke fluent Japanese. The sound of him trying to pronounce some of the words however, with the Irish lit was quite amusing at times. "What I will request of you though, is a date perhaps?"
"A date? We've only known each other a week."
"If not a date, than perhaps we can just go out together and get something to drink? Maybe go out to the amusement park and ride the ferris wheel?"
Mizuki laughed a little, the laughter felt good after having been down in the dumps for so long. Although, it always seemed to be the same thing when Lyle was around. Somehow Mizuki's dampened spirits were always lifted when Lyle would mispronounce something, or teased another student with his Irish banter. She didn't understand what he was saying, but the meanings were nothing short of laughable when he translated for her. Everyday in the last week when Mizuki would arrive home, Michiru would comment on how much brighter she was looking than the previous day, and with each day she was coming out of her stupor. It had taken her longer to adjust than Chibiusa and Ren who were both thrilled to be going back to school and living slightly regular for the next week or so before the preparations and training sessions would begin. The children whose ages were accelerated spent their time with Michiru and Haruka learning things that they might learn in school and also teaching them how to control their transformations and helping them unlock which powers they possessed, what their strong points were and what their weaknesses were.
Mizuki blinked, pulling herself back to reality after she felt a flick from a forefinger touch her forehead. "Oh..um, sure that sounds nice. When shall we go?"
"Why not right now?"
"But we still have three more periods left in the day," she whined slightly and glared at him.
"So? Why not skip and go have a little fun, eh laddy?"
"We'll get in trouble."
"It'll be worth it."
"My parents would kill me."
"Your parent's won't even be aware."
That statement was a double edged sword for Mizuki. It held a double meaning, they would not know because she wouldn't tell them, and they also wouldn't know because they had been gone for a week and a half now, but no word on their safe arrival to Kinmoku had come. Michiru and Haruka didn't seem to worry too much about the silence, but Mizuki was certainly starting to feel apprehensive about the whole situation.
"You're right… I need to let loose for awhile anyways." She sighed and nodded. The two picked up their stuff when they heard the bell finally ring and headed straight for the doors that lead into the courtyard. They strolled casually towards the entrance gates and successfully snuck past the one security guard that patrolled the grounds in case of intruders got in or kids trying to skip class got out. However, in the cool winter air, the guard was more worried about keeping his hot chocolate warm, than watching for kids.
"My car is over here," Lyle waved in the general directions where his car was.
"My car is over there," she pointed in the opposite direction and Lyle smiled, tilting his head to the side and beckoning her to follow.
"Don't worry, I'll drive. We can swing back by here to pick up your car if you'd like. Your house isn't far from mine though, so if you don't feel like driving home, I can drive you and pick you up in the morning for school tomorrow."
"Y'know, that actually sounds like a nice offer. I'll take you up on that," Mizuki smiled softly and followed the tall boy to his black car. It wasn't exactly a sports car, but it was still fairly nice. It smelled nice too, but that was due to the wintergreen air freshener that hung from his rear view mirror. Mizuki slid into the leather passenger seat and Lyle softly shut the door behind her before rounding the front of the car and sliding into the driver's seat. "This is a nice car; parents' rich?"
Lyle chuckled and nodded. "My mother is a heart surgeon in the states and my father is a lawyer."
"Every parent's dream job."
"I don't think so, I want to go into a career of writing."
"Journalism?"
"No, making a career out of writing novels and graphic novels. Or writing song lyrics and selling them to artists, stuff like that."
"You really like writing don't you?"
"I do," he smiled and started up the car. He pulled out of the parking spot and they were out onto the main street before he continued to speak. "I used to keep notebooks with me when I attended classes in the states. I would have my class notebook and at least three others larger than the one I used for class; each contained a different poem, song, short story or even settings, character descriptions and possible plots."
"Sounds like you kept yourself quite busy," Mizuki smiled back at him and rested herself against the door, so that she was pivoted slightly more towards him. She didn't pay attention at all to her surroundings, she was more concerned with learning more about this new boy.
"I am," he nodded and focused on the task of driving. Lyle pulled up to a stop light and while waiting for it to turn green, he looked over at Mizuki with a questioning gaze. "And what about you? What do you do in your spare time?"
Mizuki thought for a moment and it wasn't until the light had turned green and they were halfway down the next street before she responded. "Well, I like to sing and draw."
"That's it?"
"That's it. I'm not one really for going out with friends or watching movies and stuff. I like to sit alone with a good book or a notebook to sketch or write some random lyrics down."
"Can you sing?"
"Yeah, my dad was a singer when he was younger. He's really good. Want to hear something of his he recorded before I was born?"
"Sure, what is it called?"
"Ginga ichi Mibun Chigai na Kataomoi." she murmured as she dug around her bag for an old CD. She opened the disc and popped it into the CD player.
"This is old school, everything is digital now."
"Well this is the only way you can listen to music from the late 90's anymore. It's hard to find this song and the Lights band online. Barely anyone even remembers who they are."
"The Lights? Never heard of them. Is this song part of the band or his personal song?"
"Personal, he wrote it before he and my mom had me, or I should say had relations that resulted in me. My family history is quite complicated." She explained in short as she skipped a few songs to get to the right one. The song began with an upbeat tone. Lyle pursed his lips and nodded, as the song continued and the singing began his eyes trailed from the road to the stirring wheel to the radio.
"I like this. I take it your dad's name is Seiya then?"
Mizuki nodded. "And Seiya translates to 'sincere one' in English. You can tell he was sincere about his love for a woman who was not the one he seeked."
"Is this a true story then?"
"Pretty close to truth," Mizuki murmured and looked out the window.
Halfway through the song Lyle turned the volume down and looked over at Mizuki with a smug grin. "You sing it."
"I'm not that good…" She muttered and pursed her lips in response.
"You can't be that bad either," Lyle pressed and chuckle. "C'mon, just a few lines okay?"
"Fine," Mizuki sighed and sat up straighter. She parted her lips and closed her eyes.
Chibiusa rolled over onto her side, miserable with a seasonal cold. She groaned and rubbed her eyes with her free hand, the other was clutching a plush pillow against her aching stomach. Ren sat close to her head, placing a cool, damp cloth on her forehead and occasionally replacing it with a fresh one. It has always been this way for the twins; Chibiusa would get incredibly feverish and sick with the flu during the first week or so of the cold winter months and Ren would be as healthy as a dog. However, he never could escape his own misfortunes when spring came around and he was suddenly plagued with intense allergies. For now, he was well and Chibiusa was suffering. And now was definitely not the time for a senshi to be ill.
Several of the other children had come down with minor colds as well, but nothing some cold medicine and some hot soup made by Michiru couldn't fix. As soon as the last child had gotten to the point of not coughing every 5 minutes, Michiru and Haruka began their training regiment. It began with simple tasks, such as mastering their transformations and chants and learning the names for their powers. It was a very tedious task, but it needed to be done.
Ren stood and wandered out into the backyard to see how the training session was coming along. Chibiusa drifted off into much needed sleep, her lips parting as she let out a soft, slow breath to calm her racing heart. Her eyes fluttered shut and she was lost in the lands of her dreams within a few moments.
Streaking through a distant galaxy, a beam of light headed for a planet covered in green and blue. Within moments the light faded and those that were carried along with it landed safely on the plush green lands of Kinmoku. Fighter stumbled slightly, Sailor Moon moving quickly to aid her with standing. The journey had taken its toll on the black haired Sailor Star, her past injuries were creeping back up on her and she could feel the dull throb of a migraine. The group of 9 sailors looked up and gazed awestruck upon a magnificent city of crystal. The capital city of Kinmoku. Fighter smiled, a part of her was yearning to run forth and embrace the sweet smell of freshly baked goods and the unpolluted air of her homeland. Kinmoku was much more environment friendly than Earth and that was one thing she did not miss about her new home. She did however, ache inside for her three children and her life as Seiya Kou.
"Let's get moving," Pluto murmured and the group pressed forward. It took them about 10 minutes to cross the massive field of blowing wheat to reach the main gates of the massive wall that surrounded the beautifully constructed city. As they came upon the gate, two fuku-dressed males stopped them with stone cold glares. Mercury and Mars both shivered from the intensity of their looks.
"Halt. This is the grand city of Kinmoku, state your names and business for being here."
"We are…" Pluto began but was cut off by Fighter who stepped forward and flashed a wayward smile.
"I am Sailor Star Fighter, one of the original three Sailor Stars of the lady Princess Kakyuu. I would like myself and my friends to be granted access into her magnificent city and to see her at the most convenient time. And time is of the essence, for every minute we waste, the bigger the threat grows."
"Do you have ID?"
"Do you not believe me?" Fighter raised her dark eyebrows in question, a little surprised that the guards did not recognize her title.
"The Princess has long since selected new Sailor Stars, if you are who you say you are, you will provide us with proof."
"I am Sailor Star Fighter, leader of the Sailor Stars. My comrades are Sailor Star Maker and Sailor Star Healer. I was part of the group that traveled, 16 years ago, to Earth in search of our Princess whom we found and whom returned. Yet I stayed because I had other obligations to take care of. I demand you let us enter."
"Let them pass," a familiar voice rang out behind the guards. The group and the guards looked and there stood in casual attire, Healer and Maker. A smile spread across Fighter's face and she rushed forward, past the guards and hugged her old friends. Laughter erupted from the small group and the larger group of Sailors couldn't help but find themselves smiling as well.
"How have you two been these past 16 years?"
"Oh you know, starting families of our own. Helping rebuild the rest of the world. This was the first place to be completed, but there are still other parts that need to be addressed and repaired." Maker explained and folded her arms across her modest chest.
"And you, how have you been Fighter?"
Finally the group joined Fighter and Sailor Moon stepped by her side. Fighter looked down upon her blonde, bun-head love and smiled earnestly. "I have never been happier in my life. Mizuki was a blessing in disguise and Chibiusa and Ren are just wonderful children. I hope one day you can meet them."
"As do we," Maker smiled and beckoned the group to follow. As they transversed the bustling streets free of cars and exhaust, the scenery felt almost surreal, like a dream. It took the group a good twenty minutes to reach the largest building, near the center of the sprawling eutopia. Before they entered however, the group stopped and waited for Maker and Healer to assume their transformations. When they returned they entered the tall, crystalline gates into a beautifully decorated courtyard with fountains and flora that none of the Earth senshi had ever seen. It left them awestruck and with a sense of peace they had not felt before.
A guard met them at the entrance to the main hall and it took one look at Healer and Maker and the matching outfit and signature of Fighter for the group to pass. They walked slow and steady, in no real hurry to pass through the ornate halls of crystal, decorated with flora and paintings that would leave most of the master artists of Earth baffled. Finally, after what seemed like a long eternity of continuous walking down twisting and turning halls and never ending walkways, they reached what appeared to be a briefing room that contained technology far beyond that available on Earth, At the center was a large circle that held a hologram picture of the planet, or a planet. Only Maker, Fighter and Healer recognized it as Kinmoku before the last war. On the other side of this incredibly detailed hologram of the planet, stood the fiery haired princess of Kinmoku. Princess Kakyuu.
As she came around the hologram, Fighter rushed forward and took the woman into her arms, embracing her as if she were embracing a friend.
"My, my, you have sure grown to the customs of Earth," Kakyuu chuckled and patted the ebony haired sailor on the back. She was simply glad to see her old comrade back, and healthy. At least physically healthy.
"I brought with me the Sailors of Earth. But we are not here for friendly chatting, unfortunately."
"What is the matter?" Kakyuu asked, sensing the sudden urgency in Fighter's voice.
Pluto stepped forward to explain the situation. "We have reason to believe that the Chaos Lord and the Chaos Legion will be coming to the Milky Way to vanish the Senshi there. If they accomplish this, it is safe to say the rest of the Universe is at risk for a full scale invasion, one that would be near impossible to stop. Already a Beast and its rider has attacked out Senshi on Earth, almost fatally injuring the inner Senshi and Fighter. He still suffers from his head injury."
Kakyuu looked back to Fighter with concern apparent on her pale face. She reached up and placed her hand on Fighter's cheek, stroking the ebony haired girl's temple. "You do look weak, Fighter. Why did you make such a long journey if you were stricken with an injury?"
"How else would the Senshi have found their way here? I'm the only one who knew the way to get here, my Princess. If I've worried you because of my condition, I apologies, but it had to be done." Fighter sighed and rubbed her neck. Her head was starting to ache again. Moon realized this and stepped forward, offering a shoulder for her love to rest on.
"We should rest for a bit. And then we will plan what must be done to stop the imminent threat." Moon stated firmly, leaving no room for argument from Fighter. The blonde haired girl had learned this tone of voice from raising the kids. When one would act out, she would become stern and her beautiful cerulean gaze would harden to ice. It was hard to argue with her when she became like that, so Fighter simply nodded in defeat.
"You can make yourselves at home here in the Palace. And if you wish to return to your civilian forms, you may aswell. I'll inform the guards of who you all are so there should be no issues if you wander about. I'll tell the kitchen to begin preparations for dinner and we can discuss matters then. That should give you all a good 6 hours to rest up." Kakyuu offered with a warm smile. "Now if you'll all excuse me, I have to attend to some other matters." She nodded her head and exited the large room.
Fighter sighed, leaning heavily against Moon, her vision was beginning to blur. She raised a hand to her forehead and could feel the colour drain from her cheeks. Yaten noticed this with alarm but before the short woman could step forward, Fighter collapsed. Moon shrieked unable to stop her love from hitting the floor with a loud thud. "Fighter!" She shouted and fell to her knees beside the frail woman, pulling her body close against her own. "Fighter, wake up," she begged, gently shaking her lover's shoulders.
Pluto placed a hand on Moon's shoulders, stopping her from what she was doing. "Leave her be. She needs to rest some more. Yaten, Taiki, would you send for a medical team? Perhaps while we are here, your doctors can help her?"
The two nodded and fled the room in a rush. Pluto leaned down, and with the help of Jupiter the two tall Senshi lifted the ebony haired woman from the floor. "Let's get her to a room," Pluto murmured as the two Senshi, followed by Sailor Moon exited the large room and entered the hallway. Yaten was waiting for them, and they walked in silence to Fighter's old room when the three of them lived in the Palace.
Back on Earth:
Chibiusa shot up, a scream struggling to escape her sore throat. The sound sounded strangled and it started Michiru awake, who had taken a small nap in the chair near where Chibiusa lay. "Chibiusa what is it?" Michiru shouted, her heart beating fast and dread making her limbs feel heavy. Chibiusa was unable to speak, she was clutching her chest and panting hard. Her rapid heart beat was almost audible against her small frame, beating faster and faster. Michiru leapt out of her seat and pulled Chibiusa close against her chest, hoping to calm the pink haired girl down enough for her to speak. "C'mon Chibiusa, just breath. It's fine, I'm here with you. Just tell me what's wrong?"
Haruka and Ren entered through the rear kitchen, they had heard the scream and came rushing in as fast as they could. Ren was dressed in a Sailor's Fuku. Long white pants, and shirt with a red coloured belt and a little crescent moon shaped pendant in the middle. He wore a blue collar, similar to how his mother wore it, and upon his forehead was a gold crescent moon. His boots were red and his gloves, also red, came up to his mid-wrists. Haruka was dressed as Sailor Uranus and both were sweating from the spar they were just in. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know. Chibiusa suddenly awoke screaming." Michiru sounded frustrated. She held the shivering girl in her arms and looked up at Haruka helpless. Ren stepped forward and knelt before his sister, his gloved hand raising up to the girl's pale forehead. He placed a single finger on the spot where his golden crescent would be if it were on her forehead, and in the next moment a brilliant white light filled and warmed the room. It's radiance was hard to look at, but Haruka and Michiru felt drawn to the light and allowed it's precious warmth to consume them. The light reminded them of when they first began their search for their Princess, Princess of the Moon. This was Usagi's light, passed to her daughter, the true heir to the Moon kingdom.
Ren's eyes went wide and his heart beat quickened. He stood abruptly, the light fading as he did. He looked both to Michiru and Haruka in turn, his face nearly as pale as a ghost. He stated flately, with no urgency or tension, or any emotion for that matter: "Mizuki is in danger." Chibiusa finally snapped out of her trance and leapt from the couch, her heart shaped pendant already clutched in her hands.
"Moon Neo Serenity, power!" She shouted and thrusted her hand into the air. Moments later the brilliant light from before faded again and Sailor Neo Moon stood next to her brother. Her uniform was much different than that of the original Chibiusa. Instead of a straight skirt, her skirt was a-lined and doubled. She wore knee-high boots with pink trim down the sides and crescent moons gracing the front pieces. Her gloves came up to her mid-bicep and three, thin pink bands circled her arms. She also wore a pink choker around her neck, with a small golden heart placed on it. Her collar was pink and her bow was a rich dark pink colour. She stood tall, her long pink pigtails flowing with an unfelt wind. Her reddish-brown eyes had hardened and her face was no longer as childish, but held a serious tone. Upon her forehead was a golden crescent moon, exactly like her brother's. In her hair she wore several pearl adornments on either side of her head and her cone-shaped buns held other adornments.
"We must leave, now." Ren and Chibiusa said in unison, almost as if something was possessing them. The two fled out the front door before Michiru could even have time to change into her Sailor Fuku. Uranus ran after them, followed shortly but the newly transformed Neptune. The four raced towards the other end of town, where Tokyo met the piers.
Mizuki and Lyle sat on a bench, licking two snow cones in silence. Lyle was focused on catching the dripping pieces of his snow cone and Mizuki stared out at the softly lapping ocean. The ocean was already quite dark, and it made her sad that she couldn't watch the sunset over it. Tokyo was positioned facing the East. She pursed her lips and sighed, it had been a dream of her's to watch the sunset over the ocean. Perhaps when her parents returned she would ask them to take her to the West coast. She felt a soft pang in her heart; she missed her parents something awful, and it worried her that she hadn't heard anything from them in over a week.
"Is something bothering you?" Lyle asked, licking the last little bit of shaved ice he had left. His stunning green eyes looked over her, and a soft smile lit up his pale expression.
"Oh nothing, just thinking." She murmured and looked at her feet.
"What are you thinking about?"
"My parents, I miss them."
"They're supposed to be back soon right?"
"Yeah, they are only supposed to be gone for 2 weeks, but I'm just worried."
"Well, why don't we go and ride the Ferris Wheel to get your mind off of things?" Lyle stood and offered his hand to Mizuki. Mizuki smiled and placed her small hand into his large one. Lyle gave her a gentle tug and the short, ebony haired girl was on her feet again. Mizuki looped her arm around Lyle's and the two walked in silence towards the Ferris Wheel, which was at the very end of the pier. Within the last few hours, Mizuki found herself more and more drawn to Lyle. Something about him made her feel warm and safe. She didn't feel giddy like she did with the last guy she attempted to get to know better. She simply felt good when she was with Lyle.
A chilly breeze swept through the cramped pier. Mizuki snuggled up closer to Lyle, subconsciously clutching to his arm tighter. She didn't register anything negative about the wind, just that it was oddly cold. Lyle chuckled and the couple continued to walk. They approached the line and Lyle paid for two tickets. It took about 30 minutes for the two to make it to a car, and as they rose, Mizuki scooted closer and closer to the tall Irishman. They were approaching the top when Mizuki looked out across the peer and noticed a short girl with long pink pigtails rushing towards them.
"Chibiusa?" Mizuki gasped, shocked that her sister was there. She was dressed in something odd, and it took Mizuki a moment to register Chibiusa's outfit.
"Who is that?" Lyle asked.
"That's my sister, I don't know why she is here…" Mizuki trailed off and felt a sudden chill against the back of her neck. She slowly turned around, a scream building up in her throat but an icy hand enclosed around her throat before the sound could escape between her parted lips. She felt her breath fighting to escape too, but the hand was much too tight. She was choking. The assailant was a man with ice blue skin. His eyes were a deep, deep blue, almost black and he had short, cropped blue hair that did not sway in the breeze. His skin was almost translucent, as if he was actually entirely made of ice. Mizuki could feel the bite of his cold hand digging into her skin, freezing it.
Lyle sat beside her, scooted against the far edge of the car. "What the hell! Get off of her!" He lunged forward and gripped the man's icy arm, attempting to pull it away from Mizuki. He stumbled backwards, his hands covered in a thin sheet of ice. His scream grated against Mizuki's bone but that was the least of her worries. She could feel the darkness creeping into the edges of her eyes. Sailor Neo Moon raced forward, followed by Sailor Moon Starlight, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus, but they would never make it across the packed pier before Mizuki fell unconscious, or worse, dead.
"Moon Cosmic Pillar!" Mizuki could hear in the depths of her thoughts. Her eyes slipped closed, embracing the darkness and the warmth that suddenly washed over her. Was this it? Was she dead? Would she die right here, in front of Lyle, in front of her brother and sister? In front of all these people? She couldn't find the strength of summon her Sailor powers. She was completely helpless and she knew Lyle would never be able to save her from the strength of this Chaos Soldier.
A brilliant pillar of light shot down from the crescent moon above, blasting through clouds and striking the man of ice in the back. He stumbled, his ice covered face a mask of indifference. His hand released Mizuki who slumped into the car below, barely alive. His head turned slowly, and tilted down, his ghostly eyes trained now upon the blonde boy and pink haired girl below. Lyle took this chance and lunged forward again, using his full body weight to knock both himself and the Iceman off of the car. The two fell nearly 100 ft to the hard wooden pier below. Before Lyle struck the ground however, there was a sudden flash of light. Lyle blinked, and looked up to find himself clutched in the arms of a tall blonde haired woman in a short, blue skirt and tight fitting white top.
He could feel the heat rising to his cheeks, but the feeling soon faded when he remembered that Mizuki was unconscious in the top-most car of the Ferris Wheel. "Mizuki!" Lyle shouted. "Mizuki!" He rushed forward, but was blocked by the Iceman. The man reached forward and gripped Lyle's shirt, throwing him nearly 20 ft across the pier. He rolled over on his side upon landing sharply against the side of a building. He coughed, blood covering his lips. He propped himself up on his forearm and winced, noting that he must have broken several ribs and possibly a leg. He looked up, a sneer crossing his handsome face and contorting it in anger. "Leave her alone you sick bastard!"
"Who are you?" Uranus ordered, standing dangerously close to the Iceman. "Name youself!" She shouted again, drawing her sword and holding it against the expressionless man's neck.
"I am Aisu" He stated simply. "I am a Soldier of Lord Chaos. I have come here to kill the Moon children. And to kill anyone else who gets in my way." His voice was dark and it chilled everyone who heard it to the bone. Upon his words several other figures appeared, each stepping through massive portals of dark energy. "We are the Soldiers of Ice, Fire, Rock and Wind."
A woman stepped from the first portal, 20 ft behind where Sailor Neptune was attempting to get the Ferris Wheel working again. However the controls had been frozen completely over and rendered useless. Flames crawled across the woman's skin and her frighteningly red eyes burned into the depths of Neptune's consciousness. Neptune tore her eyes away from the woman, the intense heat the woman gave off was almost too much to bear. "I am Kasai." Her voice melted like liquid metal in the ears of those who heard her.
A small boy, translucent and surrounded by a swirling mass of purplish wind appeared behind Sailor Neo Moon and Sailor Moon Starlight. His ghostly appearance sent a chill of fear up the spines of the twins. His soft voice whispered through the wind, those who heard him felt as if he was standing right next to them. "I am Kaze."
The final man to appear was much taller than than Aisu. He towered over Uranus, his thick muscles rock hard and brown in color. Uranus gulped, realizing that the man was made completely of rock, his stone-hard skin did not move with what she assumed was his breathing patterns, if he had any at all. Her blue eyes widened and she gripped her meager sword tighter, eyeing Aisu as the man made of rock spoke in a husky, deep voice that boomed and shook the very ground. "I am Iwa."
Aisu leapt upwards, moving quickly up the metal supports that held the Ferris Wheel together. Towards Mizuki. Lyle shouted, but his shout was cut short as pain ripped through his chest from the broken ribs. He gripped his chest and collapsed, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth. "M-Mizuki…"
Mizuki floated in the dark abyss of unconsciousness. Unsure of what exactly to think of her surroundings. She felt warm, yet cold all at the same time. She could hear a faint fluttering, most likely her heart. Pumping it's last few beats before she entered the Eternal Abyss. She chuckled to herself, and could feel herself crying, but she didn't feel sad. She felt almost, at ease. Was death always this comforting? She smiled, reaching forward and stretching her hand out towards the distant light. She felt curiosity overwhelm herself as she moved forward, closing the gap between her and the light. What was on the other side of it?
"Mizuki!" Michiru, AKA Neptune shouted again. Mizuki felt a tug at her arm, drawing her back. Lyle echoed again weaker this time, followed by Uranus and her siblings and more and more tugs came, drawing her back. She fought against it, until she could hear the desperate calls more clearly. She turned around. She was looking down at the ground, and she could see all of Tokyo stretched out behind her. Neptune called out again, but her shout was cut short. Mizuki felt a pang in her heart, something bad just happened. The next thing she heard was a blood curdling scream from Uranus. And her heart sank.
"You bastards!" Uranus shouted as she watched the fire cloaked woman dart forward, a spear in her hand. Horror struck the older Sailor as she heard the blade slice through the chest of Neptune, whom had no time at all to react to the sudden attack. "Neptune! No!" Tears streamed down the face of Uranus, whose facial expression was contorted in a mixture of rage, terror and horror. Iwa spread his stone lips in a grin and laughed, the sound echoed off of the nearby buildings, shaking them.
"You're friend is dead! All because you try to protect that girl. Pathetic. I should kill you now." Iwa laughed his guttural laugh again. Uranus darted forward, driving her sword out in front of her. The meager metal bounced off of the rock skin the man possessed. Uranus' eyes widened and terror registered clear upon her face. She was going to die. Iwa reached down and gripped Uranus by the neck, lifting her upwards and off of her feet. Uranus struggled to break free, her legs kicking forward but to no avail.
"Neptune! Uranus!" Neo Moon and Sailor Moon Atlas shouted together in unison. The clutched each other tightly, tears streaming down both of their cheeks from fear and despair. There was no way they were going to make it out of this, they were too new to their powers, too weak. They did not know what else to do. "Please! Mizuki! You have to save us!" They cried out. The boy of wind, Kaze was whirling around the two young Senshi. Cuts and scratches were appearing all across the young children's skin. Their Sailor fukus' were being torn and blood seeped from the deeper wounds.
Mizuki watched in utter horror as everyone she cared about fell. Lyle was unconscious, Uranus was on the brink of death, and Neptune… Neptune was dead. And now her siblings were in danger of the same fate. She had to do something… but what? Oh Gods, she wished her parents were there to guide her. She clutched her hands close against her chest and shut her eyes tightly. Think Mizuki. Her consciousness shouted. Remember who you are! It echoed. "Moon Fighter Power!" her voice resonated from somewhere deep within her unconscious form.
Mizuki's eyes snapped open and the entire pier was engulfed in a massive collection of raw energy. The light was warm and brilliant and it warmed the frozen bodies of those who fell victim to the chilly winds from before. The people staggered and looked around, dazed from the lost moments. They all looked up as one, their eyes drawn to the figure who soared high into the sky, surrounded by a comforting milky white light. As the light faded, the daughter of Sailor Moon and Sailor Star Fighter remained behind. She was dressed in a long black cloak that was bound at her waist. She had on a cut-off tank top that was dual layered, black on top and white underneath. Under the cloak she wore black shorts and thigh high white stockings. Her tricep-length gloves and knee-high boots were also black. Upon her forehead was the signature crescent moon of gold but that was not what kept the audience in awe. Upon the girl's back were two giant white wings.
Mizuki could feel the tears streaming down her cheeks now. Neptune had been stabbed through the heart with a sword. There was nothing anyone could have done to save her, nor was there anything to be done to bring her back. Mizuki could feel her heart weigh heavy with both sadness and an overwhelming sensation of anger. In her hand a sword of pure white stone appeared, the hilt was gold and wrapped in a rich, black leather. "You've taken someone close to my heart away from me. Now you must pay!" She shouted and dove, her wings closing in tightly around her. She aimed for the woman of fire first. She sword passed through the woman, who seemed to take the invitation to death with a smile. The woman shattered. Neo Moon and Atlas Moon combined their powers, summoning a massive pillar of light from the heavens to barrel down and engulf both Kaze and Iwa in it's brilliant tendrils. The two embodiments of the elements disappeared in the same manner as Kasai. Aisu remained.
Mizuki stood, panting, Chibiusa and Ren on either side of her. Uranus had fallen to the ground, barely conscious. Most of her air had been choked out of her. She could feel death creeping in closer and closer. Uranus summoned the last bit of her strength and began to crawl towards her fallen lover. Neo Moon and Atlas Moon rushed forward and helped the dying woman to her departed wife. Mizuki, known now as Sailor Moon Fighter looked with an enraged grimace upon her face at Aisu.
"You are a strong fighter, but nothing else is expected of the daughter of a Princess and a Fighter. Your soul burns bright with the passion of the Moon and your body boasts of strength. It's a pity that you will die here today." Aisu raised his hand and a terrifying laugh rolled from his motionless mouth. "I summon thee! The Chaos Beast of Ice! Rise my Dragon!" The air was stricken with an extreme chill and Mizuki clutched her arms across her chest, her breath visible.
Behind Aisu a massive swirl of snow and ice whirled around, growing in size until a solid beast of nightmare revealed itself with a flick of it's tail. The beast was massive, it's jaws were parted to reveal hundreds of sharp teeth and it's breath was icy. The pier once again became frozen over, the people who had attempted to flee were once more frozen solid. Uranus had collapsed next to Neptune, and was stroking the soft face of her departed lover. Neptune's body had become transparent, the bloody pool from where her wound was was nearly gone, as if it had never existed before. Uranus cried, not holding back the anguished sobs.
However, Uranus was struggling to keep herself conscious. She needed to do one thing and she parted her lips, chanting something that was barely audible by the two young Senshi beside her, but was almost as clear as day to Mizuki. "Accept our powers, Mizuki. Allow us to help you this one last time and to show you the strength of a Senshi… please… call… for...us…"
Mizuki shivered and stood straighter. She raised her hand above her head and called out: "I call upon the powers of Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Uranus. In their moment of death, give me their strength and courage!" She shouted. Uranus collapsed, clutching Neptune tightly against her. The two disappeared in a burst of energy. The twisting masses of dark blue and turquoise energy danced around each other as they raced towards Mizuki and surrounded her. In Mizuki's outstretched hand a massive sword appeared. The sword was at least 5 ft in length, 4 of that was mostly the white stone blade that glittered in the light of the moon. The hilt was golden and wrapped in black leather and the cross guard was in the shape of a crescent moon. Inlaid in the cross guard where two gems, one a deep blue and the other a turquoise. The two stones glittered with raw power, and the energy surged up the blade.
Mizuki swung the blade behind her head, her voice resonating stronger and more firm than she had been moments before. "I call upon the power of the planets, Uranus and Neptune! Unleashing Turmoil! Planet Power!" She cried and swung the sword from behind her to in front of her. A massive blade-like gale of wind shot forward, racing with blinding speed towards Aisu and his beast.
But it was too late, Mizuki was moments too late. Aisu had disappeared and the Chaos Beast took the brunt of the blast. The blast did little to the massive dragon, and the icy gaze of the beast boasted amusement.
"Is that all you got?" Aisu's icy breath flashed across Mizuki's neck. "Is that all those pathetic Sailors gave to you? A meager gale of wind?" Aisu chuckled again and shook his head. "Pathetic." Aisu raised a small dagger and thrusted forward, aiming for the small of Mizuki's back. But his blade bounced off an invisible barrier that blocked him from the frail body of the ebony haired girl. "What?!" He called out in confusion.
"Don't you dare call my mentors pathetic. They were some of the greatest Sailors to ever live!" Mizuki shouter and whipped around, swinging her sword as she turned. The sword struck the side of Aisu and the man let out a grunt as he was flung several feet to the ground. His side cracked and shattered, leaving only half of his abdomen in tack. "Don't you dare say they were pathetic!" Mizuki yelled and surged forward, leaving Aisu little time to dodge her frenzied swings. Chibiusa and Ren, who had transformed back into their civilian outfits sat terrified as they watched their sister completely lose it. "I will kill you! And you beast! You will die tonight!"
"Not before you!" Aisu growled and flicked his finger. Mizuki was suddenly met with an intensely cold sensation against her right side. Her eyes widened and she didn't even have time to scream before she was hurled 10 yards down the pier by the Dragon's massive tail. She rolled to a stop, coughing up blood and gripping her side, which had been impaled by a shard of ice. She whimpered and rolled onto her back, gasping for air. "You, and your pathetic siblings, and that pathetic human will die tonight. It will be up to you if you chose to die fast, or slow." Aisu calmly approached the fallen Sailor.
"I-I… won't… let you... " Mizuki gasped and bit her lip to keep from crying out. Aisu was almost upon her when a form shielded her from an icy dagger. Lyle winced and smiled, clutching Muzki close against his chest. "Lyle!" Mizuki shrieked and clutched the boy as he slumped against her.
"Please Mizuki… you can do it… save… yourself… and… your siblings." He coughed, blood trailing from both sides of his mouth. His shirt was heavily soaked through with the blood of his new wound, which impaled his right shoulder. It did not travel far, but it was still enough to cause some major bleeding.
"No! Please no! Not you too! No!" She cried out, her body becoming engulfed in a massive burst of pure white energy, swirled with a much, much darker energy. "No! I won't let you die too!" She screamed and hugged Lyle close against her. Aisu was flung back by the force of the massive energy burst. He grunted and clambered up the side of his dragon.
"She is going to kill herself, let us leave before we get caught in the mix." Aisu commanded his dragon and the massive beast shot up into the sky.
Mizuki collapsed, unconscious once more. Lyle was still clutched tightly in her arms, the wound upon his back was sealed over, as if he never was stabbed in the first place. But Mizuki now possessed a similar wound, and blood was seeping from it quickly. Lyle stared at her shocked, and cried out for help.. He couldn't believe what just happened… Mizuki changed the wound he had received to herself. And now her life was threatened. If she did not receive medical attention soon, she would die. Lyle scooped up the frail girl in his arms and raced across the pier, running as fast as he could for the nearest phone… car.. hospital anything that could potentially help Mizuki.
Another thought struck him as he went… he could walk. That meant… oh no. Muzki had taken all of his injuries. The broken leg, broken ribs, contusions and cuts, everything. This was seriously bad. He hoped he could make it in time to save her life, there was something special about this girl. And he knew that she would be able to defeat what ever may be next… even though it was hard to believe anything that had happened, he knew something bad was coming. Something worse than this… and just how many people were going to die then?
I hope you enjoyed this! And the cliff hanger at the end. 3 Don't you just love me? Well it was approaching the 8,000 word mark, so I decided to stop at this point! See ya in the next chapter. ;}
