The Life of the King and Queen.
Morgan was the first to wake up the next day, getting up slowly and seeing Ritsuka sleeping by her side. She smiled, as she hadn't expected her plans to work out this perfectly. The greatest threat to her rule, reduced to nothing more than just another of her loyal subjects.
She got up from the bed before dressing with her usual attire and leaving the room, she'd task Gawain with keeping an eye on Ritsuka once the boy woke up from his sleep. As she was making her way towards her throne room, she met one of her 3 Fairy Knights along the way, Fairy Knight Tristan.
"Good morning Baobhan Sith, how was your mission?" - she asked in a calm manner.
"Forget about the mission Mother, why are you hanging out with that small fry of a human that I caught yesterday!?" -
"Him? He's Ritsuka, Chaldea's Master and our main enemy… Well, he used to be" -
"Mother?" -
"He ended up inside the Nameless Forest, and thus his memories are gone. He now believes he's my Husband, the King of Fairie Britain, we have him under our control" -
"Taking advantage of him? How clever of Mo-Wait, did you just said Husband!?" -
"He needed a new purpose to stop his memories from coming back, and being a King is the most important one. That ensure that Chaldea won't be able to get him back" -
"Wait, but what happened to…" -
"Him? He served no purpose to me anymore, so I disposed of him before capturing Ritsuka. Now, Baobhan Sith, I need you to behave in front of him from now on" -
"Ugh, Mother… Fine, if you ask it of me then I'll do it" - the redhead then left the place as Morgan sat on her throne and waited for Ritsuka to wake up, little did she know that he was deep in a dream, a lost memory.
"Ma… Ma… Mash…" - he whispered in his sleep, seeing the figure of a girl that he was sure he knew. He knew her name, but… Nothing more than that.
"Who is this Mash that you speak of?" - a voice inside the room woke him up, Fairy Knight Gawain's - "Good morning King Ritsuka, Queen Morgan is waiting for you in the throne room" -
"Thanks… Please, leave me alone while I dress" - he said, a bit ashamed.
"Of course. I'll wait for you outside then" -
While alone, Ritsuka looked through the window, seeing the huge city of Camelot and remembering what he tried to do last night, escape from it. Even now he didn't know what exactly compelled him to do that, but alas it wasn't a successful plan. He finished dressing with his clothes and left the room, being met by Gawain on the way out, who then took him to the throne room, where Morgan already was.
"Ah, my Husband, you took longer than expected to wake up" - she said in her cold tone.
"I'm sorry, I was just… Having a strange dream" -
"Is that so? What was it about?" -
"Nothing important, don't worry Morgan…" -
"Nonsense. You're my Husband and I'm your Wife. When we married, we promised to share everything with each other" -
"We… Did?" - Ritsuka tried to remember his wedding with Morgan. Nothing came to mind, however.
"I see you're having problems remembering. Don't worry, all your memories will return in no time" - Morgan got up from her throne and walked up to him - "Maybe a walk in Camelot will help them come back" -
"A walk…" -
"Gawain, let the others know that me and my Husband will be taking some time alone. We shouldn't be bothered unless its something important" -
"Yes, Queen Morgan" -
Morgan and Ritsuka walked together out of the castle and towards Camelot. Ritsuka now saw how alive the streets looked during the day, with all the faes that lived there going about their business without any concerns.
"Admire the peace of our dear Camelot, the city that you helped protect" -
Ritsuka was amazed at the city and unconsciously, he grabbed Morgan's hand as they walked together. She was surprised about this, she didn't expect him to do something like this.
"His hand…" - she whispered to herself.
"Morgan? Is something wrong?" -
"Nothing, I'm merely thinking about how much time has passed since you and I walked together like this" -
Despite them originally going on a calm walk, they were soon surrounded by the inhabitants of Camelot, all of them excited to see their 'King' alive and well, after being told by Morgan's Knights about Ritsuka.
The boy was rather shocked, all the attention was overwhelming him, but Morgan all throughout remained calm.
"Morgan, all of them…" -
"They're merely happy to see their King again. Pay them no mind, and let us continue our walk" -
Ritsuka couldn't believe that the faes reacted like that to him. It was hard for him to contain his shock, but being with Morgan made him feel strangely calm.
Without them knowing however, hidden in the crowd, there was an enemy, a hidden assassin that intended to kill Morgan now that she wasn't accompanied by her guards.
Using a dagger, he tried to backstab Morgan, but Ritsuka saw this and blocked the hit from the attacker, throwing him to the ground and quickly disarming him before subduing him.
"The King captured an assassin!" - one of the faes yelled as the guards suddenly arrived to take the assassin away.
"My Husband… You managed to capture him so easily" - Morgan said surprised. She knew that Ritsuka was a good strategist, but didn't know if he had any sort of combat skills. She was pleasantly surprised to find out he did.
"I just did what I had to do, couldn't allow him to hurt you" - he said as he stood up next to her - "Nothing happened to you, right?" -
"I'm fine, your help is appreciated" -
As the fae assassin was dragged by the knights to be killed, Morgan and Ritsuka continued their walk during the entire day before once again returning to the castle. Once there, they were met with a number of high ranking faes who wanted to speak with Morgan alone.
"Go to our chambers, my Husband, I shall meet you there" -
"Alright, I'll be waiting for you Morgan" -
As Ritsuka left, one of the faes immediately got way too close to Morgan - "Queen Morgan, what are you thinking? Why have that human scum in your castle, and referring to him as your husband no less?" -
"My motives do not concern any of you. All you need to know is that with him under my control, we're weakening the biggest threat to our Fairie Kingdom" -
"But Queen Morgan…!" -
"Silence, unless you wish to be turned to ash in this very moment" - the room then fell silent. The faes didn't understood Morgan's behavior, but there was no going against her.
She then headed straight for her room while thinking about how Ritsuka protected her from that attack. She didn't need it, as she could've easily killed her attacker by herself, but the fact that he jumped immediately to block the attack made Morgan smile.
She entered the room and saw Ritsuka sitting on the edge of the bed in complete silence - "Are you thinking of something?" -
"Oh, Morgan. It's nothing, don't worry about it" - he was lying, and the Fae Queen knew it, all thanks to her Fairy Eyes.
She could see that there was still a remnant of his old memories, he still could vaguely remember stuff from Chaldea. No problem however, it would be gone in no time, and nothing about his previous life would remain.
"Later tonight, we'll have dinner with the Fairy Knights and other nobles, I expect you to be on your best behavior for it" -
"Of course" -
"As well, you'll need an outfit fitting for a King. Your previous one was destroyed during your final battle, but don't worry, we have a new one ready for you" -
"Seriously? Can I see it?" -
"In due time. For now, we'll spend some time together" -
