"Relax mom, I'll call you on Sunday when you're supposed to pick me up," Cori said to her mother as they were driving to April's apartment. "Alright, just remember to call me. Is this it," Cori's mother said. "Yup. Just drop me off and I'll be good to go." "Alright be safe," she said to Cori as Cori left the truck. Cori waved as her mom drove off. She rushed inside the building to escape the pouring rain. April was waiting for her in the lobby. "Do you have it," she asked Cori. Cori patted her purse and said "Yeah I have the candy. Hey do you know when Mikey is going to get the bandages off?"
April shrugged. "I don't know. The guys never told me." She looked at the clock on the wall and said "We better hurry before the guys freak out and come looking for us." Cori nodded and opened the door for April. The rain was really pouring now. It came down in large water droplets. "Ready to run," Cori said. April ran past her and into an alleyway. Cori ran after her and helped her with the manhole. April quickly climbed down the ladder and into the sewers. Cori followed after her and placed the manhole cover back.
Cori and April walked into the lair. Most of the lights were turned off so it was dark but they could still see. Some jack o'lanterns were spread around the lair to provide extra light. Leo was on the couch watching something. Probably the Halloween special of Space Heroes. "Wow, you guys are really festive this year," Cori said. Leo turned and smiled at them. "You guys made it. Hey do you know when Casey's coming?" "I don't know, he didn't tell me," April responded, "Hopefully soon."
"Don't you think you went a little overboard just a bit," Cori said. "It has to be dark. Mikey's getting his bandages off and Donnie doesn't know if his eyes are injured or not. He just doesn't want there to be bright lights. So we decided to use candles but Raph suggested we make them jack o'lanterns to be festy. So we went with that. Hey do you have the candy for Mikey," Leo asked. Cori and April nodded. Leo stood up and walked over to the kitchen. He found what looked like a large punch bowl. He placed it down and poured some candy in it. "Just pour some in here," he said. April and Cori emptied their purses out and filled the punch bowl. Leo grinned as he said
"Mikey's going to love this." April nudged Cori with her elbow. "What?" "Maybe we should apologize to Leo for being late. Leo I am sorry for being late. Could you ever forgive me," April said. "Uh, sure but what is this—" "Maybe Cori would like to apologize to someone about her rude behavior," April finished. "Is this what I think it's about," Cori said as she glared at April. "What do you think it's about?" Cori sighed and asked Leo "Do you know where Raph is?" "Uh, no but Splinter might. And I'm really confused right now." "It's none of your business," Cori said as she started walking to Splinter's room. "Oh and Cori," Leonardo called. "Yes," Cori said. "You never apologized to me." "That was so funny, I forgot to laugh," Cori replied as she entered the dojo.
She closed the door behind her. It was brighter in here but not by much. "Uh, Master Splinter," she called out. Splinter emerged from his room. "Yes Cori?" "Um, I was just wondering if, uh… You knew where Raph was." "He was here but he left for the surface to get Casey," he replied. "Oh." "Is something bothering you," Splinter asked. "What no, it's just that I have to talk to Raph, that's all." Splinter chuckled. "What's so funny," Cori asked. "It's nothing. It's just that one of my sons told me something that I found funny and you reminded me of it. If you are worried I am laughing at you then you are greatly mistaken."
"No, it's fine. I'll just go wait for Raphael now," she said and she quickly turned away. She was opening the door when Splinter asked "Cori, you don't have to answer this question but, do you have feelings for my son, Michelangelo?" Cori blushed and said "What, no. I mean I like him but not in that way. It's not like he's a bad guy or anything it's just. A friend." Splinter smiled. "Forgive me for the embarrassment I just caused you. I simply wanted to know. My sons do not tell me anything and I am their father." "Does Mikey… like me?" "No Cori," Splinter responded, "Michelangelo is not in love with you. You need not worry about him." "Thanks," Cori said as she exited the room.
Cori sighed as she closed the door. "That was so awkward," she muttered to herself. She walked into the kitchen to talk to April but found out that Raph and Casey had arrived. Casey was hanging out with April while Raphael was talking about something with his brother Leo. April saw Cori and nodded towards Raph. Cori groaned and walked over to Raph. She tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey Raph. Um… I'm sorry for the way I acted on Monday. It was rude and totally uncalled for. Sorry." "What was that, I wasn't listening," Raph teased. Cori punched his arm and said "Well I'm not going to say it again. My conscience has already been cleared." Leo snickered.
"What are you laughing about," Cori said. "Oh, nothing," Leo said. Raph opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by Donnie coming out of the lab. "Ladies and gentlemen! And Casey." "Nice to see ya too Don." "I would like to introduce the new and improved, Michelangelo!" Mikey walked out of the lab. His face had a cut going diagonally from the left in between his eyes. It was puny compared to the gash that it came from. "Hi guys, I'm back," Mikey said.
"Mikey you've been here in the lair for the whole week," Raph said. "Yeah but when I can't see you precious face it seems like forever Raphie," Mikey replied. "Aaww… You really think Raph's face is precious? I'd thought it be more along the lines of disgusting or horrifying," Leo joked. "You know some day you're gonna get beat up by something and I'm just going to sit there and laugh the whole time," Raph said. Cori leaned her elbow on Raph's arm and said "You wouldn't do that. You'd be fighting and laughing at the same time." "Michelangelo, you look well," Splinter said as he emerged from the dojo.
"Splinter!" Mikey ran up to him and hugged him. "I believe that there is something that your friends would like to give you Michelangelo," Splinter said. April picked up the punch bowl full of candy and said "We got all of your favorite candy." Mikey smiled widely. He grabbed the punch bowl and shifted through the candy. "Hey, you guys want to watch a horror movie or something," Raph said. "Sure, I wasn't planning to sleep or anything," Cori joked. "Don't you just love being an insomniac," Donnie said.
