Cori sat down next to April and Casey. "Casey, you're wrong. Donnie's not a jerk," April said. "I'm just saying he always pushes me away like I'm a piece of trash. It's not my fault he's like that." "Hey guys," Cori said. "Cori are you okay," April asked, "You look sick." "Just had a rough night I guess." She got up without saying anything else. Jared walked over and sat down in her place. "Hey April, hey Casey. Was Cori sitting here cause I can move." "Oh great, the freak's here," Casey muttered.
April elbowed him in the ribs and said "No it's okay Jared." "Where is Cori by the way," Jared asked. "Probably at the bathroom." "You know that was like her fourth time using the bathroom today. She goes in every class. I know because I'm in her classes. She also takes forever at the water fountains. Oh hey. Wanna check out my new comic? It's about Luigi from Super Mario brothers and Luigi gets scared a lot. Like in every comic."
"That's nice," April said. Jared passed a bunch of papers over to April. April shifted through them as Jared droned on about the comic. Cori came back and Jared scooted over to the next chair.
After lunch April had gym with Cori, and she was late as usual. April quickly unlocked her gym locker and got changed into her gym clothes. She looked around for Cori but couldn't find her. April went out into the gym and saw Cori sitting in a chair, looking paler than before. She frowned as the gym teacher, Mrs. Bragan, talked to her. April waved to her but Cori didn't notice. "Maybe she is sick," April said to herself.
