Cori trudged out of her room wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. She didn't care how she looked, she didn't care about anything. She walked into the main room and found Mikey, Leo, and Raph playing video games. They were playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. "Hmmm… Pikachu, or Zelda?" "Mikey, you're seriously gonna pick a girl to play as," Raph said. "Zelda is awesome. And besides, video games is a place where gender doesn't matter. As long as they can kick butt they're cool," Mikey replied. "Mikey would you just hurry up and pick a character?" "Yeah, yeah I'm picking."
The game started and they were playing at what looked like the Pokémon stadium. Raph was playing as Bowser, Leo was playing as Link, and Mikey was playing as Pikachu. Cori smiled as Raph shouted "Mikey, stop spamming the stupid thunderbolt and let me kill you!" "Never!" Cori turned to her right as Donnie left the lab. He looked up from his notepad and smiled. "Cori, you're awake. So do you want to do that test now?" Mikey paused the game and turned around. "Cori," he said, "Wanna play some video games with us?" "Mikey, why don't you let her rest a little. She's probably tired," Leo said. "Tired from what?"
Leonardo looked at Cori, as if to ask for permission on whether he should tell the others about last night. "You know, I was only pushed off a roof," she said. Mikey smiled and said "Yeah, sorry about that." "Mikey unpause the game. I was kicking your butt," Raph said. "I believe now is not the time for video games," Splinter said as he entered the room. "I think it is time for training." Everyone groaned except for Leo and Cori. Leo stood up and asked "Splinter, could uh Cori train with us? Just this once? I mean, she doesn't have to do anything, just like watch." Splinter nodded his head and entered the dojo.
The rest of the turtles followed him in but Leo hung back with Cori. He held out his hand and said "C'mon, it'll be just for today. You know, it'll help you think of… other things." Cori nodded. She didn't want to say anything. She felt that if she did, she would break out sobbing. Leo and Cori walked in as the rest of the turtles sat down. Leo sat down next to his brothers and Cori sat down on one of the cushions on the floor. As she was wiping her eyes from tears she noticed Raph staring at her. She tried to smile but it turned out more like a grimace. Raph frowned slightly and looked up at Splinter.
