But I decided it would be nice of me to spend my money on my friends and give them coffee." "I still don't know how you could drink that stuff," Raph said, "It tastes like burnt water." "Yeah but when you add enough sugar and cream it's like heaven," Mikey said as he took a sip out of his cup. "My sons you have returned safely. There was no trouble, I presume," Splinter said. "Not if you count Leo spilling burning hot coffee on my hand," Donnie said. "I already said I was sorry, how long do you want me to keep apologizing?" "Until it stops annoying you," he replied.
The others sat down in the living room but Raph hung back next to Splinter. "Sensei, I've been thinking about… stuff and I wanted to talk to you. Alone," he said. Splinter nodded and headed to the dojo. Raph closed the door behind him as they entered. "What is it you want to talk about Raphael," Splinter said. "Well, uh, I wanted to ask you… I mean, you got married and stuff which means you probably dated. So I was just wondering if you, um, knew how I could ask Cori out, err, on a date?" Splinter looked at his son and said "Do you know if she likes you back?" "Well no, but I was just hoping that we could take like baby steps or something.'" Splinter sat down and said "Why do you want to go on a date with her?"
Raphael sat down next to him and said "Well, I like her I guess. I mean I had this whole dream about her and—" "Why do you like her?" "Well, uh, she's pretty. And really cool. I mean she can fight and stuff and like," Raphael stopped and sighed, "She's just perfect, but not perfect. And she's just so strong, not physically but mentally because she has to deal with Donnie's and April's pain as well as her own. And she's so sarcastic, like in a good way. And her eyes are like amber, and… And if this was a test I probably screwed up badly didn't I?"
Splinter smiled and said "If you want to go on a date with her, you need to hang out with her more. To see if you really do want to go on this date. When you decide, ask her out to something simple, but do not tell her you love her. If you say that too early, it may end the relationship before it even started." "Wait, what?" "I am giving you advice, isn't that what you asked for?"
"Well I mean yeah but, I didn't think you would like tell me," Raph said. Splinter laughed and said "Raphael, why would I not tell you?" Raph shrugged and said "I don't know." "Raphael, there are certain things a father must do with his sons. One of them happens to be giving out 'girl' advice. I already talked to Donatello about April before." "You told him to make a chart on how to ask April out?" "No, that was all him."
