Cori and Raph could see the fight from the distance but Cori felt it before they were even in there. There were blurs of green and black as they saw the fight. "Come on, let's fight something," Cori said as she picked up her pace. Raph followed her as they jumped into the battle. It seemed like all of the Foot's forces were there. Karai, Rahzar, Xever; Cori wondered if Yori had been lying about Shredder not coming. If there was any time to fight against the turtles, this would have been his chance.

Cori bashed a foot soldier's head into the ground and looked around for Donnie. She couldn't see him past the hoard of ninjas. Donnie, where are you? Cori! You're supposed to be at the lair! I know but you guys were in trouble. Also you hurt your arm. I noticed. Just try not to be killed okay? Cori was about to respond when a foot soldier swung his katanas at her. She barely dodged it and kicked him in the shins. He went on his knees leaving Cori to kick him in the head. She looked around as she felt a sharp pain in her foot. "Dang it Donnie, can't you be more careful," she muttered.

She dodged an attack from a ninja and examined the scene carefully. Donnie and Mikey were nowhere to be seen, but they were probably fighting Rahzar. Raph was fighting Xever and some foot soldiers. Leo was closest to her, fending off foot soldiers as Karai approached him from behind.

"Leo, look out," Cori said as she flung herself in front of Karai. Karai hesitated as shock spread across her face. Cori took the opportunity and punched Karai in the stomach. "Cori!? What are you—" "Give me a sec Leo," Cori interrupted as Karai swung her tantō at her. Cori blocked it with her tonfa and kicked Karai. Karai stepped to the side and dodged it. She jumped behind Cori and slammed her elbow into her back. Cori fell onto the hard concrete. "Cori huh? You know, I was looking for someone named Cori. You wouldn't happen to be her, would you," Karai said with a smile.

Cori pushed herself up from the ground and went to punch Karai. But she blocked it easily and threw a punch. Cori dodged it and continued to attack her. It went on like this for what seemed forever to Cori until finally Karai managed to knock her back onto the ground. Cori rolled to her right before Karai stabbed the ground where her head had been. Karai looked up from her sword and smiled wickedly at Cori. Cori glared back at her. Her breathing became ragged breaths while Karai seemed perfectly fine. Like she was having fun. Cori barely knew Karai but she already hated her.

"What's the matter? Out of shape," Karai teased her, "You know, I don't know why the Kraang want you. You're not even good at fighting. All you are is a little brat with a dead mother." Cori felt like Karai had just stabbed her in the heart. "She's not dead," Cori said, trying to stop her voice from shaking. "That's what you think," Karai gave with an amused laugh. Cori's grip tightened on her tonfas. "You're one to talk, considering your mom is dead and your dad is a murdering psychopath." Karai frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt your feelings," Cori said, "I didn't even know you were capable of having them." Cori slid Yori's katanas out of their sheaths and slashed at Karai.

Karai jumped back and blocked the attack. "You don't even know how to use those. It's kind of sad how this fight isn't fair enough for you," Karai said. "Yeah, well I fight dirty." Cori threw the swords at Karai and jumped towards her. Karai blocked the swords but didn't have enough time to prepare herself for Cori. She toppled over as Cori fell on her. Cori began pulling her hair and clawing at her face. "Get off me," Karai screamed as she tried to push Cori off. Cori took out the knife she always carried around her and aimed it at Karai.

"Cori, don't," Leo yelled. Cori looked over to where Leo was fighting the Foot. "What!?" While Cori wasn't looking Karai grabbed her wrist and forced the hand holding the knife to stab Cori in the leg. Cori screamed out in pain. She crawled backwards, away from Karai, and took the knife out of her thigh. Warm blood stained her jeans. She tried to stand up, but her leg refused to stand up with the rest of her. She fell back down to the cold concrete. She looked up to see Karai standing in front of her, tantō in her hands. She hugged her left arm as she walked towards Cori.

"You're an annoying little bitch aren't you?" "Language please, Mikey's still a child," Cori said slowly, struggling through the pain. "But you didn't have a mommy to tell you that did you?" Karai scowled and raised her tantō into the air, ready to strike Cori. Cori panicked and called out to Donnie.

Donnie, I need help. I'll be there in a sec! Cori tried to run away but as soon as she stood up she fell over. Cori felt something prickle her neck. She looked up to Karai holding her tantō at her neck. "I would say that if you were smart you'd stay down, but I can't say that you are," Karai said. "I'll have you know," Cori said as she slowly reached for her tonfa, "I'M IN DOUBLE ADVANCED MATH!" Cori knocked the tanto out of Karai's hand with her tonfa and grabbed Karai's wrist. Most likely out of pure luck, Cori managed to flip Karai onto the concrete.

Cori attempted to stand up but fell down when Karai grabbed her ankle. Cori fell face first on the concrete. Cori flipped herself over and saw Karai looming over her. Blood covered her forehead and hair. She had begun to pant. "You know," she said, "I was supposed to capture you and give you to the Kraang if I got the chance. But you know what? Screw the Kraang! This has become personal." Karai pulled out a knife and raised it up in the air. Cori struggled to escape Karai's grip on her ankle but it was no use. Just when she thought it was all over, Donnie knocked Karai away from Cori.

Instead of thanking him Cori yelled "Where the heck were you? I almost died!" "Oh you know, I was having a tea party with Rahzar when you asked for my help and it is rude to leave early," he said sarcastically. He looked at Cori and said "You're not the only one who's fighting bad guys." Cori looked up at him. He was bruised and had cuts everywhere. "You look like crap," she said as he helped her up. Cori took in a sharp breath as pain shot up through her leg. "Can you walk," Donnie asked. "Yeah," she lied, "I'll be fine."

Donnie gave her a skeptical look but was distracted by Karai getting up. "Finally," she said as she pulled herself up from the concrete, "A real fight!" "I take offense to that," Cori said quietly. "Try not to die," Donnie said in a low voice. Donnie left her to fight off Karai. Cori watched the battle. She heard something whistle through the air and ducked on instinct. She turned around to a Foot bot holding multiple shruikens. She knocked him off its feet with her good leg. She pulled out a knife and stabbed it in the chest. The robot twitched one last time until it was absolutely still. Cori sat there breathing heavily.

Donnie's pain and her own had finally caught up to her and every moment felt like agony. Cori never understood how people could enjoy fighting. Right now, Cori felt like crap and fighting just felt painful and awful. She heard the screech of tires from the street below followed by a familiar monotone voice saying "Kraang, assist the ones known as the Foot with the action of capturing the ones known as the turtles." "Great," Cori muttered to herself. Donnie the Kraang are— She was interrupted by Xever looming over her.

"I did not expect a girl to be here," he said, "Karai did not inform me of this." "Can't you bad guys just let a girl take a break for five minutes?" Xever smiled. Amused he said "I like you. It's a shame I have to end you." "Isn't there some type of code of honor that you can't hit a girl," Cori stalled, preparing herself to make a run for it if she needed to. "Unfortunately for you, I am no ninja. I am not binded by honor." "And here I thought I was an exception," Cori said while slowly pulling out her knife. Xever slashed Cori with his sword but she rolled out of the way in time. She jumped up and kicked Xever in the gut. Xever groaned and attacked again.

Cori avoided the sword and clutched her knife tighter. All she needed was to cut the tubes filled with orange liquid and Xever would be defeated. Cori tried jump behind him but Xever was too quick. "C'mon," she muttered to herself, "Just turn around." Cori slashed at Xever with her knife but cut his face instead of the tubes. Xever grimaced and slashed at Cori. Cori jumped back but her arm was sliced by the sword. Cori took a sharp breath and cradled her arm. She took her hand away from the wound to see red blood covering her glove. Xever smiled evilly. Cori never in her life felt the urge to wipe that smile off his face. Cori surprised Xever by tackling him to the ground and tightened her grip on the knife.

This was her chance to cut the tubes, leaving Xever defeated. She was about to cut them when Xever bit her shoulder. Cori cried out in pain and pushed herself away from Xever. "You son of a—" Xever's pain hit her like a train. When he bit her, he must have made skin contact. Cori couldn't stand it. She couldn't feel his pain along with Donnie's and her own. And she started to feel nauseous. Cori clutched her stomach and puked. Breathing ragged breaths, she looked up. Everything had become fuzzy and she could barely hear anything. She looked at the chaos around her.

Xever was in front of her, his sword drawn. But Cori could have sworn she saw someone. Someone else. She blinked and there she was. Her mother was standing right in front of her, in the place Xever was. "Mom," Cori said weakly. Cori blinked again and she was gone, only to be replaced by Xever. She began to feel light-headed and dizzy. Cori felt hands pick her up off the ground. Someone called out her name but she wasn't sure who. Cori puked again. Now every breath burned her lungs. She looked around and saw her mother again, along with her missing friend. Her long jet black hair covered the majority of her face. Cori tried to say something but it was too hard. Cori closed her eyes.

She opened them again but her mother and friend weren't there. She was lying on her back. A green mutant with soft brown eyes looked down at her. When it saw her awake it smiled. She screamed. Its mouth was filled with razor blade like teeth. Its eyes turned all black and it tilted its head to the side, confused. Cori crawled away from it and hit her head against something. Slowly everything turned black. She could hear just a faint whisper of someone saying her name before she fell unconscious.
