A/N: Holy Crap! I can't believe it's been almost three years since my last upload. Since then the Skywalker Saga has concluded. But my version will contain some things from the Rise of Skywalker. But not much. Sadly, I was not the biggest fan of how they ended this Saga.
Chapter 15: Crisis Point
Kailin and Mortathi fed off Rey's fear. From leaving her friends, her parents, to Luke. They soaked themselves in the disappointment she felt having to leave her family. Through the dark side of the Force, they made her see things.
Kailin made her imagine awful, terrible things. One being Poe and Rose pinned to the walls, heads twisted, with haunting faces that smiled at her. At the end of a corridor, there was Chewie crawling, on the ground, fur matted with blood. Rey passed his bloodied body. Her heart ached knowing these weren't real.
"The chase is a sport for me, Scavenger. So, taking your worthless life will only just be the victory in all of this." Kailin teased "You have been told that victory is assured for your side, it is, of course, a lie. Only to bring hope to where there is none."
Rey kept her pace down the red-lit halls as she searched for an exit in this never ending labyrinth. Kailin and Mortathi joyfully played with her. The Force around her made her nauseous. She felt it's twisted malice rippling all around and through her. She continued down the halls as they played her like their toy-things.
'You have been in the dark being granted the illusion of light, no more. There is no spark of hope. There is no rescue coming. It is just you and me, little rabbit.' Mortathi joined 'So run, let your whitetail bob high as you scurry to save your skin.'
"I will defeat you" anger and determination filled Rey's core. "You're not real!" as she ran past the fake Finn scorched with the marks of blaster fire.
'You are no hero, Scavenger. You are nothing, less than a cold raindrop on that scorching desert you called home.' Kailin said whipping venom into Rey's heart.
'What you bring will evaporate into the sky leaving the landscape unchanged, barren and desolate, a playground for my guns and bombs.' Mortathi laughed echoed in Rey's mind, sending chills over her body.
"WAKE UP!" Bazine was jolted awake by one of the half-dressed troopers kicking the chair from beneath her. She struggled for a moment to focus on her surroundings. Only to realize her hands were in cuffs magnetized to the table above her. Her head foggy and pulsed with pain.
The darker complexion of a man jabbed a water canteen to her face. "Drink" he demanded, forcing her chin up, thrusting the water into her mouth, and spilling on her top
"Enough, FN-1175" a calm voice interrupted.
"Yes, Captain" FN-1175 removed the canteen from the choking Bazine and saluted the person sitting before her. Even in her blurred vision, Bazine could see the person was statuesque, sitting tall and proper in their form.
"FN-6104, FN-1175, please, leave the room." the person ordered. "And make sure no one is to interrupt us under any circumstances."
"Yes, sir!" They saluted their superior in unison and walked out of the room with only the sound of their boots echoing behind them.
"Good, Ms. Netal. You're awake." Bazine's vision began to slowly clear. She could see the halo of light above fading into focus. A terrible scar plastered across the left side of their translucent pale face. Their eyes were the brightest shade of blue. Slicked back white hair surrounded their head as light reflected on top, making them seem angelic.
Poe continued to speed through the air. The sky was painted a deep purple with splashes of orange and pink at the horizon as the sun finished setting. The viewport of the TIE fighter is quickly filled with the millions of stars that are scattered throughout the galaxy. Poe gazed out in wonder when the call came in from com, interrupting his thoughts.
"Dameron, can you hear me?" The voice was frantic and blanketed by a blaring sound in the background. But Poe recognized it as Finn. "Poe, you need… to… base NOW!"
"What?" Poe tapped the helmet speaker. "Finn… Finn, what's going?" he questioned "Hello? Finn, I can barely hear you!" Poe gripped the yolk tightly and swerved the TIE fighter around. The familiar whine verberated through the cockpit. The comm crackled with Finn's voice trying to break through.
"You can first tell what the hell is going on?" Bazine spat.
"Manners, Ms. Netal." Their voice, calm. But the horrid burn scar wrinkled in disgust on their face.
"What do you want from me?" Bazine with forced calm.
"Very simple." the person straightened their back more than it was already. "You're a bounty hunter. I need your services," they said matter of factly.
"A simple encrypted message would do." Bazine rolled her tired eyes.
"I'd rather speak to my employ in person, Ms. Netal."
"Ok. But then why am I cuffed?" Bazine lifted her cuffed wrists.
"Old habits." They said nonchalantly. "Excuse me." The figure rose to their feet and walked behind Bazine and unlocked her cuffs. They were tall and incredibly statuesque. "I apologize for the theatrics, Ms. Netal. But you are going to kill the Supreme Leader."
