A/N: I hope you enjoy the revamp. Appreciate all feedbacks and support. Enjoy!
Before the beginning of the world, there exists two singularities. Light and Dark. The two exist in equilibrium, collecting energy from wherever they can. Billions of years later, the universe materialised when a phenomenon called the Emergence happened. The spark of energy and the chaos that ensued with the creation is caused by the two singularities merging, creating what we call now as Earth, the perfect habitat for the two singularities to lay rest. With the combined power of the two singularities, two worlds were created inside Earth.
First, the world where the light shines brightly above the clouds. A kingdom of prosperity, peace and harmony. A kingdom where the sun rises, shining brightly on it's inhabitants. The land of angels, guardians of the holy Light, known as the Above, or now translating to a more religious definition, Heaven.
Meanwhile, the Dark materialised under the crust of the Earth giving birth to a land consumed in darkness. Lava spewed and chaos ruled. The unruly land surrounded by fire gave birth to unholy and vile beings known for their blood-thirsty behaviour, their cannibalistic appetite and most importantly their dark heart tainted by their black souls. This creatures dreadfully known as...

"Stop!!!" A person suddenly yelled in a tired voice.
"What?!" Another voice sounded in retaliation.
"For the last time Damian... you don't need to scare half the class when you're presenting, this is the 4th time you done it!!" Carrie explains to him as she rubs her temples while leaning against the whiteboard. Clearly, she wasn't amused and most noticeably tired.
"Come on Carrie!! It'll be boring if I just go on yapping about history and stuff... I mean... It's not like I'm hurting anyone!" Damian points his hands towards the students in front of him.
Most of them are hiding under their table while some are shaking in their boots. Some of them were even frozen in their seats and their skin paled. Obviously some weren't amused and by some, it was Zill and Jack who carried an unamused expression. Since both of them are already used to Damian's antics, they weren't scared at all but that doesn't mean they were tolerating his scares either. Vanexa of course carried her usual serious face and didn't care about anything while Spam was distracted by a bee flying about his nose. On the other hand, Kayla was seen bringing her bag up blocking the front of her face trying to cope with her fear. Zill who noticed this stretches his hand and placed in on her shoulder as a means of comfort. Kayla's shivering dwindles down as she starts to calm down by a little. She then gave a smile towards Zill as she calmed down. Damian who saw this scoffed before looking back at Carrie.
"See?!!" He tries to convince her.
Carrie sighs before massaging her temples even further moving down towards her nose bridge.
"Look!! First of all, it's Ms. Carrie to you!! Second, please for the love of God!!! DO YOUR PRESENTATIONS NORMALLY!!" She raised her voice at the latter part.
"Why? Somebody's in a mood today!!" Damian jokes but it didn't go well for him.
Carrie slams her fist at the whiteboard leaving a loud thud and causing it to shake a little bit before she shot a glare at Damian.
"Okay...okay.. fine!! Jeez!!" Damian responded in fear as he clear his throat before looking back at his audience.
"So... where was I...
Of course peace didn't last. The dark demons sought more than what they had. They wanted more power and control over the surface. Soon, they crawled out of the hellhole which they were damned in and started to take over the surface little by little. So, the holy angels heard the cries of terror and grief and descended from the heavens to help the surface dwellers in their fight against the creatures of the dark. Of course, the surface dwellers took the side of the angels and fought in a war to recover back their lost peace. However, a small minority of people also sought power and control so they decided to join within the ranks of the demons. The war lasted for centuries before it ended. How? Nobody knew... but... there were some tales of how it ended...
A creature or a person stepped into the battlefield... However this person was different, he was no angel, nor was he a demon. Instead, he was said to be a mixed blood of both the light and dark. Some say that the moment he stepped into the battlefield, the was immediately ceased and the demons crawled back into their cracks of the abyss.
"Umm.. q-question?" Suddenly, Kayla raised her hand ever so shakily.
Damian and Zill both had their eyes glued to her as they were surprised by her sudden question. Damian immediately smiled at her and teleports in front of her, making her yelp in fear.
"Anything for my darling angel~" Damian swoons as he smiles from ear to ear clearly creeping Kayla out.
Zill immediately puts his hand in front of her and blocks Damian from getting anymore near her.
"Don't get any funny ideas Damian!!" Zill growled at him as he stood up.
"Or what hotshot?!!" Damian glares back at him as both their eyes met and fought of in a glaring contest of sheer tenacity.
"That's enough!!" Carrie yells as she walk towards the both of them.
"Zill, you can go back to your seat and Damian, this is your last warning! Any more trouble and I'll report you to Zechariah!! Understand?" She looks at him as he nods slowly in defeat.
"Okay, Kayla... go ahead!!" Carrie invites her to as her question.
"As what I w-was about to ask, so this... mysterious creature or... person or whoever they are... they must be on the good side right?"
Damian just looks at her.
"I mean, they must be on the side of the Light right?" Kayla asks him.
"Does it matter?" Damian suddenly asks. This question stumps her and it made everyone confused."I... I don't understand w-what you mean?" Kayla says shakily.
"I mean... does it matter if they're good or not?" Kayla stood silent at this.
"Look... if something like that exists... if they can stop a whole war... does it matter if they're good or not? In the end, only those with power are seen as the ones who uphold justice! Doesn't matter if they're good or bad... justice is just another made up word to describe those who won! If you're good but you lost, did justice really prevailed? Well maybe... but not for you!" He smirks as her as he proves his point. Kayla's lips was frozen shut as she couldn't come up with a proper answer.
"Well in the end... it's just a stupid fairy tale... no such creature existed in any point of time. In the end, the true story is that the angels defeated the demons, the light defeated the dark... yada yada yada, like any other story you'll hear!" Damian spoke slowly. No one noticed but Damian was clenching his fists tightly as he ended his presentation.
"Okay... is that all?" Carrie asks him.
"Yeah... that's all!" Damian responded slowly as he returns to his seat.
"Finally..." Carrie breathes a sigh of relief.
"Good presentation Damian on the Old Wars, luckily this time without much nuisance... Anywho, this is your homework for the weekend, I want you to research on the prominent figures in the Old Wars, be it they're on the angel's or the demon's side! And don't forget about your consent papers for the trip to the Wild Beasts Sanctuary!"
Just as she finished her sentence, the constant ring of the school bell can be heard signifying the end of their school session before their awaited weekends.
"Right on time!! Okay! Class dismissed!" Carrie says as she stacks her books on her desk.
The students then rush to pack their bags and leave early, clearly eager to spend their weekends.
In the hallway, the gang can clearly be seen walking alongside each other. Zill putting his arms around Kayla, Jack walking besides Zill cautiously checking his surroundings while Spam was eyeing Vanexa who was reading a book totally not paying attention towards her surrounding.
Damian was putting his stuff in his locker when his eyes caught the scenery of all of them together. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists but in the end he just sighs and chose to look away, still sorting his locker.
"Yo!" A feminine voice called him from the side.
Damian turns his head to his side to see Sahara walking towards him.
"Hey Sahara..." He greets her weakly as he closes his locker.
"Hey! Come on dude, the others already left!" Sahara says to him while grabbing his arm. Suddenly, Damian wriggled his arms off her grip which surprised her.
"Look, Sahara... umm.. why don't you go ahead first... I... just... have something to do!" Damian explains to her but Sahara could see the sorrow in his tone and some other important detail.
"Wow... this is different..." Sahara suddenly points out which confused him.
"What's different?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Umm... hello?! What's different?!! Dude!! You didn't even bother Kayla! Plus! You look bleak as hell!!" Sahara says.
Damian just chuckles while shaking his head.
"Nah... I'm just tired today... plus I'm not in the mood to piss of Zill today!" Damian explains while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Really? That's a first!" Sahara asks again unconvinced about his answer.
"Look... can we just not talk about it?" Damian tries to avoid the conversation.
"Okay, you clearly have something on your mind..."
"It's nothing alright..."
"Come on! I'll help you out! What are friends for?!" Sahara offers as she puts on a wide smile.
...
Damian pauses for a while contemplating on his decision before he sighs.
"I'm just... I just feel..." Damian stumbles in his words before pausing. Sahara raises her eyes expecting an answer from him. After a while, Damian gave up and just sighs.
"Look, I'm just... bored with the routine..." Damian reveals to her.
"Routine?" Sahara asks confused.
"Everyday, it's just the same... I tried everything! Everything in the book! Every advice but nothing works with her! I hoped that something would work! Even if it's just a little change, but nothing fucking works!" Damian curses as Sahara could sense the tension coming from him. He then realised his words and calms himself down before apologizing to Sahara.
"Dude... you know she's in a relationship right? Look, as a friend, I'll just say it... you gotta move on man! Trust me, it's for the best! There's a lot of other girls out there!"
"I know... but I just can't... I just wish things were different! I wish I was different!" Damian says as he looks at the palm of his hand, covered in the red colour of hellfire hoping it was a different colour.
"What'd you mean?" Sahara puts on a concerned face.
"It's nothing..." Damian just shrugs it off. Sahara just looks at him with concern.
"Well, we better get moving, or we're gonna be late! Come Sahara!" He quickly walks away from her.
"I thought you said you had some-"
"Change of plans!" Damian answered briefly as he continues to walk.
Sahara just stood there feeling pity for him before following him.
A door suddenly opens revealing a slim human female. She had freckles on her face. She wore a gray shirt with a white skirt. This was Cameron. After she closed her door, she saw Damian walking pass her followed by Sahara. She immediately noticed his gloomy behaviour which was unusual but she decided not to think much about it.
She walks along the hallway before she met a person walking towards her.
"Carrie!" She greeted her giving off a cheerful vibe.
"Oh, heya there Cam!" Carrie greets her.
Cameron immediately notice her fatigue and knew she had a tough day.
"Rough day huh?" Cameron asks her.
"Girl, you don't know what rough is!"
"Okay, what happened?" Cameron was always ready to lend her ears to a friend in need.
"That Damian kid, he's just so tiring!" Carrie complains before pinching her nose bridge clearly annoyed.
"What happened this time? Did he scare half the class again?" Cameron asks as if she already knew what happened. Carrie just nods slightly.
"Well... maybe it's his way of fitting in... maybe I should schedule a session with him?!" Cameron suggested.
"Nah girl! He's a piece of work! You sure you want to deal with him?" Carrie asks in disbelief.
"Well... like it or not, it's my job... in the end, isn't he just another kid?"
"Cam... I don't know if you're brave or just reckless!" Carrie states with a hint of disbelief in her voice.
"Well, maybe both!" Cameron jokes as both of them laughed in the middle of the empty hallway.
After some time,
The night has blanketed the sky. Stars were glimmering in the sky like fireflies as clouds were nowhere to be seen. It is a clear night. The moon brightly stuck above the sky giving off a serene mood. The city highlighted with it's bright lights while the streets were filled with the headlight of cars of people cruising around.
In an empty and dark forest, stood a mighty tree towering towards the heavens. It was the oldest tree said to have ever lived in Safe Haven, or at least that's what Vince told him. It stood monstrous and leaves flourished on it's branches. As we get nearer to the tree, the plucking sounds of a guitar was heard. The medley of sounds flowing in the perfect chain creating a very smooth and mellow melody.
Above the tree where the sound was heard, lied a red jackal. It was Damian. His ruby eyes was closed as his fingers were busy plucking the strings on his guitar. He was living in the music he created as a smile formed on his face. For a while now, everytime school ended, he would go here to relax. This place rarely had anyone, due to the fact that nobody wants to venture this deep in the forest. So, it was extremely lucky that Damian and his friends discovered this place. It became their little secret meetup place, well maybe not little.
Soon, his fingers started to slow down as the music he played came to an end. After the last note, his eyes open as he stares into the sky. He breathes out a deep sigh before putting his guitar on the bed of leaves supported by the branch besides him. A paper plate with a half-eaten slice of cake was seen besides him. He just had his birthday party, he planned with his friends. As his hands try to reach for the plate, something caught his eyes. The almost soothing glow of the night sky shone on his dark fur making him look up.
However, most of the light was blocked by the leaves above him. He then started to climb the tree, leaving his guitar and cake as he climbs the tree until he reached the very top. As soon as he reached the top, his eyes gaze upon the glimmering lights glued to the sky. A short gasp of awe escapes his lips at the mesmerising painting of the night sky above him. However, a frown soon forms on his face before he looks downwards, staring at his hand. All this sight, all his gifts, all the riches that he have but it still wasn't enough. It wasn't enough... to fill the void in his heart.
"Happy birthday Damian!" He wishes himself in pity. Suddenly he felt something wet on his hand. He looks down to see black liquid smudged on the crimson fur of his hand. He immediately realised he was crying and quickly rubs his eyes, some tears still leak and flows down his cheeks.
Even on this day, the one day that meant something to him, the one singular day to celebrate his birth, he didn't feel good about it. Instead, he felt pathetic and alone. He had no one besides his group of friends. A father that didn't care about how he felt, a cousin, the closest thing he has for a brother, someone who despises him and the love of his life disgusted by what he is. And even till the very end, he knew he was to blame for everything. For being a demon, for being himself. He couldn't control his tears as those thoughts came inside him. He wished he wasn't such a pathetic loser, he wished he was someone people wouldn't be afraid off. He wished he was born different. He wished for a purpose...
He... wished...
Suddenly, his hand was shining brightly but it didn't came from him. He immediately look up and noticed something in the sky. It was a shooting star, dashing across the sky. It's glimmering shine leaving a brilliant trail of stardust in its path. His mouth gaped in awe as the image of the shooting star was reflected in the black of his eyes, making it glimmer.
A thought then came inside him to which he immediately scoffed at the notion of.
"This is so stupid!"
Even if it was, something inside him urged him to at least try. He looks at the shooting star again and puts his palm again. He looks at it with a meaningful gaze before opening his mouth.
"I wished I was different... I wish I wasn't hated... I wish... I wasn't a demon!"
After that, he froze in his spot as he tries to contemplate on what he did. It was so stupid... wishing on a shooting star like a child. He immediately regrets it and contemplate on why he even did it in the first place.
As he was done cringing on what he did, he then stood up and tries to climb down the tree before suddenly feeling something tingling on the back of his neck. He immediately look backwards and what he saw causes his eyes to bulge. The shooting star which was flying across the sky suddenly switched it's course and headed his way.
"Oh shit!!" He cursed before immediately rushing down the tree.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" He could hear it getting louder as every second passed by. The bark on the trees also glowed more each passing second marking it was getting closer.
As he climbed down, he turns his head and saw the shooting star seconds away from crashing into him. Sweat started forming on his fingers as they try as hard as they could to claw onto the bark as he climbs down the tree.
"Fuck!!" He knew couldn't grab his guitar which he placed earlier on time. As his life flashed before his eyes, his final desperate attempt at surviving forced him to jump off the tree. As his body rapidly falls due to gravity, he immediately tries to use his hover magic slowing down his fall. As he descends down, he could hear the cracking of the wood of the tree following by the whirling of the air being sliced in half as he sees the said comet tearing through the tree. Damian soon lands on the ground before tumbling into a roll due to his imperfect magic. As he dug his feet into the ground, he manages to stop his tumbling as he immediately looks up. The comet was seen flying above him and further deep into the forest before crashing. He could hear the loud explosion and the shaking of trees around him. The sound of beasts getting restless around him as growls and cries echoes throughout the forest.
"Arghh!!" Damian grunts as the rush of adrenaline fades and the pain from his fall starts coursing through his body. His arm and legs were a bit swollen due to the fall. He just hoped that he didn't break a bone.
"That was close!" Damian takes the opportunity to at least breathe a sigh of relief but sadly it was short-lived. Suddenly, the sound of wood cracking above him, immediately made him shot up. His eyes then widens at the sight of a large branch falling above his head. Soon, it crashes directly on top of him as smokescreen of dust ensued.
After the dust cleared, the fate of Damian was unknown. However, one of the fallen branches suddenly moved a little before a hand punched through, between the gape. Suddenly, Damian came bursting out, gasping for his life from underneath the wreck as a look of dread was present on his face. His hands glowed a red hue as he managed to cast a barrier spell in the nick of time allowing him to live another day.
"That was really close..." He manages to find time to joke to himself trying to calm his scared self as he tries to escape the pile of branches that fell on him. Even after he got out, he still stood in the same area, still gasping for air as he just experienced a near death situation. He was sure that he died but luckily his magic came in handy. His hand stops glowing as he tries to stand up. His hands and legs were shaking from fear and pain but he tries to steel himself. However, his eyes then was dragged the direction of the crash site even deeper inside the forest.
Normal people would have ran away by now, scared... running for their lives but he didn't feel afraid. Instead, he felt drawn to it, the curiosity feeling his head. He needed to at least see what had almost caused him to die. He then make his trek towards the crashed star. As he navigates through the forest, stumbling on the roots of the tress and trying to move through the dense branches in his way, his nose suddenly picks something up. He begins sniffing and the smell was so familiar to him a scent that wasn't a stranger for him.
"Smoke!" It means he was getting close.
As he continues trudging along the dense forest, he knew he was close. He was getting closer and closer, until he saw...
"L...ight?" He was confused as there was something shining in front of him blocked by some of the trees. He immediately rushes towards it as he arrives at a clearing. He could see trees knocked towards the ground with their roots still intact. Perhaps they fell due to the momentum of the impact. And in the middle of all the chaos and wreckage, there was it. The source of the light, the 'shooting star'. He moved closer and closer and saw a bright object shining on the ground. It's as if he got into a trance as the brilliant light was calling to him.
As he got a clearer picture by moving closer, his mouth gaped and his eyes bulge when he noticed what it is. It wasn't a shining object, it was a person. It was...
"An... angel?" Damian couldn't believe what his eyes was showing him. An unconscious angel with bright wings in the middle of the crash site glimmering with a brilliant white light.
What would this fated meeting bring him? How would it affect his future? The light of the future followed by the flaps of the wings of the heavens.
