"What the fuck?!!" Damian still couldn't believe his eyes. What laid in front of him was an unconscious angel, a real angel. The angel's wings emitted a bright light which was almost blinding to the eye. Apart of him felt threatened by the presence of such a holy creature even if it was unconscious . After all, demons and angels had always been enemies since the beginning of time. He felt that he needed to get away from there as soon as possible, igniting an angel's wrath isn't a good idea since he was fairly weak. Even as the son of Lucifer, the ruler of hell, Damian never had a means to protect himself. He was too weak and he always relied on his caretakers even though he didn't really need them because he was particularly safe... most of the time. But this time, it wasn't.
Damian immediately turned his back and started preparing his transportation spell. He needed to get out of here as soon as possible. As his hands was busy carving runes in the air, his ears suddenly perked. The angel on the ground was starting to regain it's consciousness. He could hear weak groans and the sound of soil being moved.
"Shit!!" Damian cursed silently as he tries to prepare his spell faster. But what he heard next made him stop completely.
"H...help..."
Damian's hand froze mid air when he heard it. He slowly turned his head around to look at the angel. He could see it reaching out it's hand in the air as if it was trying to gain his attention. He could see it's hand shaking hardly, evident of it's fatigue and weakness.
"P-please..." It called out to Damian again. The weak voice penetrating towards Damian's ears. Damian hesitated on whether to listen to it. His hand was already ready to cast his transportation spell. One more flick and he'll be back home safely but at the same time he knew that the angel was trying to get his help.
Damian looked at the ground for a while before raising his head, looking at his hands glowing due to the spell.
"Fuck it!" Damian retracted his hand from the air as the runes disappear and his hands stops glowing. Damian immediately move closer to the angel but he had to cover his eyes partially as the bright light was hurting his eyes. As he got closer and closer, the light had been so blinding that Damian closed his eyes completely.
After a few second, the light dimmed allowing Damian to open his eyes again. He slowly removed his hand before gazing on the ground below him. What he saw made his mouth gape open. The angel lying below his was a beautiful girl. He could see her beautiful face lying on the ground. She was wearing some sort of breastplate which was emitting a dim glow and underneath it was a white dress which stretched until her legs but what's most noticeable was her glowing wings sprouting from behind her back.
"Woah..." He couldn't help but gasp at her beauty. But after a while he shook his head trying to escape the thoughts. He still had someone he needed to chase after so he mustn't easily falter by her beauty.
Damian moved besides her and knelt on the ground. He could see that she was still breathing even though it was fairly weak.
"Uhhh... hello..." Damian tries to get her attention but she was partially unconscious and didn't respond.
He knew that he needed to help her up. He moved his arms around her waist. He then tried to exert some strength into his flimsy arm as he tries to lift her up. But the moment he did that, the angel let out a painful scream which made Damian panicked as he hurriedly drops her back on the ground. He wasn't sure why she was screaming until he felt something warm and wet on his hand. He brought it to his face to see it drenched in some sort of gold liquid. Damian's eye bulged at the sight.
"I-Ichor..."
He rolled her to the side as she lied on the ground with her belly facing upwards. His eyes than caught something. Her dress was stained by the same golden liquid on the left side of her waist.
"Shit..." Damian knew the fact that she was bleeding to death.
She was bleeding heavily and the ground was already stained by her blood. He could here her weakened breathing and moans. He knew she was on her death bed just waiting for her life to be snuffed out.
"Shit!!" He didn't know what to do as his mind starts to cloud up. She was dying and there was nothing he could do but he knew it wasn't his responsibilities. He was never meant to help her anyway.
From when he was small, he always heard the tales of the angels, bringers of justice and peace. Their wings flapping with purity symbolising freedom from the forces of darkness. The heroes from the Old Wars, who brought prosperity towards Safe Haven. However, history was always manipulated sometimes to suit the victor. He remember the tales that his father told him of how the angels had no mercy for demons. The demons conquest wasn't justified by anyway but the angels was ruthless. Even harmless demons who had nothing to do with the war were annihilated with no mercy. Woman an children all suffered the same dark fate at the hands of the so called peacemakers.
He knew that he shouldn't help her. Maybe letting her die would at least make it better for the demon race. Even if he was to help her, there was no telling on how it would affect him. Constant thoughts were circulating in his mind. It would be easy to just run for the hills and pretend that none of this had ever happened but something in him is telling him to make the right choice.
"W...who?"
Damian ears perked when her heard her voice again and he shot towards her face. The angel was directly looking at him. Damian gritted his teeth before sighing heavily. He is a demon, yes... but he wasn't going to start acting like one, not at this moment. He looks at her and opened his mouth.
"Look, I'm here to help alright... you're injured... I can't carry you so could you at least try to stand up!" Damian tells her.
The angel lied silent and just stared at him. Damian took it as she can't.
"Shit, wait here..." Damian suddenly tells her.
"I'll try to get help!" Damian suggested as he stood up. He knew that if he asked for help, no one would trust him and he'll most probably get his ass beaten but he needed to as least try even if he is a demon. Just as he was about to take a step... the angel spoke.
"D-demon..."
Damian froze as he knew that the angel realised what he was. He stood frozen and didn't turn back. He was afraid that somehow she would do something to harm him even in her dying state.
"Please... t...take this..." She spoke softly as she was breathing her last breath. Damian steels himself and turned back to see one of her hand reaching out to him.
His ears suddenly picked up some sounds closing in on his location. He could also hear footsteps closing in near his location.
"Damn!" He knew someone or something was getting closer to him. He rushed by her side and looked at her hand. She then opens it revealing a sort of white gemstone. Damian was baffled by what is it and most importantly what was the purpose of her giving it to him.
"What is it?" Damian asks her.
She didn't respond but instead used the last of her strength to move closer towards him and putting it directly on his palm. Damian was confused before she suddenly grabbed his wrist pulling him closer towards her.
"Wha-" Damian didn't have enough time to respond as his body falls forwards close to her as his face landed directly besides her.
"Keep... it...s-afe" She mutters softly at his ears. Damian looked at the gem in his palms again before nodding slowly. Suddenly, the angel closes her face on his. Damian was baffled when her face was literally inches from his. Suddenly, she planted a peck on his cheeks.
Damian blushed at this but didn't retaliate as she was really beautiful so he didn't really mind or was weirded out by it. Suddenly the spot of her peck glowed slightly. Damian was terrified but it was short as the spot suddenly gave a warm feeling. It felt strangely calming and his heartbeat was starting to pulse back to normal.
With a smile on her face, she looked at Damian before opening her mouth.
"Thank... you..." She spoke softly. Suddenly, her hand which grabbed his wrist loosened before it fell to the ground with a thud.
"Hey! You're okay?!!" Damian asks her as he panics. Suddenly, he could hear the footsteps getting closer.
"Stay here!" Damian says to her as he rushes behind a tree, hiding.
Suddenly, he could see two figures emerging from the opposite side of the wreckage. They were cloaked and he had no idea who they are or what they wanted.
"See, told ya it would work!" One of the figures chuckles as he walks towards the fallen angel.
"Worked a little too well! We were supposed to handle it discretely!" The other figure nags as he walks besides the angel, kneeling in front of her face.
"Chh, pathetic!!" He spits at the ground besides her as he stood up. He then suddenly brings out a clear crystal as he holds it near her body.
"Well??" The first figure asks with a hint of impatience.
"Dammit! She doesn't have it!!" The second figure curses as his eyes started looking around.
"What?!!" The first figure exclaims.
"But that priest said... Is the device working? Maybe it's broken?!!" The figure added.
"I don't fucking know if it's broken or not! We still don't have the gem!!!" The second figure growls at his partner.
Damian then realised that they were looking for the gem in his hand. He looks at it before tightening his grip on it and continues to peak from his hiding spot.
Suddenly, the second figure sniffed something. He continues to sniff around which weirded out his partner before suddenly shooting towards Damian's direction. Damian was shocked and immediately hid behind the tree covering his mouth. He desperately wished that they didn't see him.
The second figure then walks slowly towards Damian's direction. In his steps, he slowly took out something that looks like a revolver. He then silently cocks the revolver before putting his fingers on the trigger.
Damian was sweating buckets behind the tree as he could hear him getting closer. He closes his eyes as he awaits his fate wishing for a miracle.
"OWWWW!!!" The first figure suddenly screams as the second figure immediately turns his vision.
"Why the fuck are you screaming?!!" He rages at his partner.
"That little bitch stabbed me!!" He yells as a white glowing dagger could be seen penetrating through his foot.
"Goddamnit!!!" He curses out as he puts his revolver back inside his cloak.
"You fucking bitch!!" The injured figure rages as he brought his other foot out and kicks the face of the angel with full force making her yelp in pain. Her body too weak to fight back as she only took on all the pain. He then proceeds to continue the onslaught on her stomach making her bleed more and more.
Damian could only close his ears as he couldn't bare to hear the sound of her being injured. His hands tightening it's grip on his ears by the minute as a small shed of tear stars to form on the edge of his eyes.
"Hey! Calm down!! We need her alive!!" His partner yells as he shoves him away.
"Stay out of my way, Drey! I'm gonna show that bitch her place!!" The figure says before rushing back towards the angel. Suddenly, Drey shoves his raging partner to the ground.
"Vex! Calm down!! This isn't the time for this!! If the boss doesn't get what he wants, we're fucking screwed! So suck it up and shut the fuck up!" Drey reminds his partner who was lying on the ground. Vex continues to growl for a while before shooting his face away.
"Good! Now, we need to find that gem!"
"Then, we should carve that bitch's mouth! Make her talk!!" Vex suggests angrily which annoyed Drey.
"No! Obviously she doesn't have it! We're only going to waste more time!" Drey says which made Vex grunt and even more annoyed.
"Then, what do we do?" Vex asks him.
"We're gonna-
Suddenly, Drey immediately brings out his gun in a split second and pulled the trigger. Then, a bright blue beam came out of the muzzle, crackling with electricity as it directly heads towards Damian's hiding spot. The beam then penetrates the bark of the tree, directly cutting through it like butter and the blast went off further cutting through the forest.
"What the hell did you do?" Vex asks him in shock and confusion.
Drey just kept his eye on the tree as smoke escapes from his revolver. His eyes were glued to the trees waiting for any sort of reaction. After a few seconds, he sighs before looking back at Vex.
"It's nothing! Thought I heard something!" Drey explains. He then looks at the angel as his eyes widen. He immediately moved besides her and places two fingers on her neck.
"Dammit! She's dead!" Drey cursed out loud. He growls while pacing around the area with a clear look of anger. Vex just kept silent as he just stared daggers at the angel's body.
"You've done it now! We need to get outta here! We already caused enough commotion!" Drey added to which Vex retorted.
"Chh, calm down Clint Eastwood! We're in the middle of the forest! No one is ever going to know what happened here! Let's search for the stone! It must have fallen somewhere here!!" Vex says to him.
"No! We ain't stayin! The angels know she's dead! Sooner or later, her they're going to start looking for her body! I don't want to be here when that happens! I'd rather face the boss than deal with damn angels!" Drey says while putting his revolver back inside his cloak and putting his hoodie back on. He then started walking, leaving the area.
"Then... what're we're going to tell the boss? We can't just leave empty handed! You said it yourself!" Vex asks him. Drey suddenly looks at the angel for a while, leering her with his eyes before shooting his glare back at Vex.
"Do I have to do fucking everything?!! You did this! You figure it out!!" Drey exploded on his partner as he shoves him away.
"It was fucking self defense!!" Vex grunts back but Drey just snickers at him.
"Fine!" Drey suddenly spoke.
"We shot her down and tortured her for information! Somehow, she doesn't have the stone and killed herself before we got any more information outta of her! There! Happy?" Drey explains to Vex but he still seems unconvinced by the answer.
"Look! Nobody knows how this fucking gem works!! Not even the boss! For all we know, she might not even have it in the first place! Whatever bullshit we give, the boss mustn't know that we fucked up! Let's leave!!" Drey adds before walking away.
Suddenly, Vex moves closer towards the angel before cutting a part of her wings off with a dagger.
"Yeah!" He answers before both of them quickly left the area jumping between the trees.
The area laid silent with only the body of the angel on the ground and the scenery of the wreckage.
After a few minutes, Damian could be seen falling on the ground as he violently gasps for air. It was a near miss. Luckily, the beam only managed to graze his cheeks.
"Who are those people?" Damian asks himself before looking towards the angel's direction. He then quickly moves towards the angel and gasped at her condition. He could see bruises and the mangled state of her wings. He knew he couldn't do anything. He crashed onto the ground kneeling with his hands pushed against the ground.
"I... I'm sorry!" Damian apologies with hopelessness inside his voice. Suddenly he could feel her hand in his as he turns to her face. She was smiling as tears ran down her cheek. Her last bit of life force emerging but quickly fading away.
Suddenly, her body glowed brightly and the shine started to become brighter until Damian could see her body becoming more transparent by the second. Throughout the process, she continues to smile at Damian before finally disappearing completely as the glow which was around her disappeared as well.
It was a confusing moment for him as he just watches it happen. Damian just knelt there for a while trying to process what happened.
Damian immediately snaps back into reality and his hand fumbles around. He panicked for a while but managed to get his grip together as his hands started glowing. He quickly carves the transportation rune in the air. After a few seconds his magic started activating before his body was engulfed in a glowing red hue. With a swirl of the wind, Damian immediately vanishes from the location.
Location: Hell
It was a normal day in hell. We bring ourselves to a big creepy castle in the centre of the circle of hell. On the entrance of the castle stood two guards which were stationed there. One of them was leaning on the wall behind him while the other was standing still and kept an eye out for anything. Suddenly, both of them picked up a strange wind flow in the air. The leaning guard immediately stood up straight and gripped onto his spear tightly followed by his comrade.
Suddenly, a spherical field materialised in front of them. Both of them immediately point their spears at the location as they prepare for any incoming threats. Suddenly, there was a brief glow before someone descended from the sphere. It was Damian.
"Your highness!!" Both of them immediately address him as their quickly kneel on one knee. They were expecting a response from Damian but he didn't say a word. Instead, he just stood still on his location and didn't move. One of them look upwards to see Damian frozen in place and his eyes bulging as if he saw something that terrified him.
"Your... highness?" One of the guards called for Damian but he didn't respond.
After a few seconds, Damian snapped back into reality before quickly moving inside the castle. He walked past both of them completely ignoring their presence. One of the guards look at the other with a confused face and his comrade just shook his head as he too was confused.
Damian was walking through the hallways of the castle completely ignoring his surrounding. The events from earlier was still fresh and tormenting his mind. It was the first time he'd actually saw someone dying directly in front of him, the first time he was close to getting killed. Not only that, but the message she conveyed was still plaguing his mind.
"Keep it safe!"
Damian immediately stopped in his tracks before looking down at his hand. He opens up his palm revealing the white gem he was given. He looked at it with a baffling gaze. He didn't know what it is or why was it so important for the two figures? As he gaze at it a bit more he was suddenly interrupted.
"Damian?"
He jumped before immediately shooting his face backwards to see the person who had surprisingly greeted him. It was his mother or more commonly known as the queen of hell, Narissa.
"Jeez... you scared me!" Damian panted as he tries to get his nerves in order.
"I didn't think it would scare you!" Narissa was also weirded out by his unusual behaviour. He wasn't so jumpy before.
"What's wrong son?" Narissa asks him. Damian stood silent. He didn't know if he should tell his mom about what happened. Maybe if he told her, she could help him figure it out. He was about to open his mouth when her words rang again in his mind.
"Keep it safe!"
"It's... it's nothing! I was just surprised!" Damian lies to his mom as he secretly put the gem inside his pockets.
"All right then!" His mom smiled at him believing what he said.
"I probably... should go to my room... See you later mom!" Damian greets his mother goodbye before walking away in a rush.
His mother just watched as her son walks away as she tries to figure out why he was so jumpy earlier. As she was thinking, she suddenly remembered something.
"Ahh, Damian happy bir...
As she just about to mutter those words, she realised Damian was already lost from her sight. She sighs in disappointment as she didn't get to wish her son. She then turns around before walking along the hallway.
Damian's room bursts open revealing a very tidy room. His bed made and no dust in sight. As the royal heir, he didn't have to worry about cleaning as it wasn't his job. He immediately sat on his bed. His eyes glued to the ground as he was still shocked by the events than unfolded earlier. He then lies down with his face facing upwards as he stares blankly at his ceiling. His mind was blank from the incident. He then tries to snap out of it and tries to stop thinking about it by sleeping. His eyes started closing as he attempts to forget everything by just going to sleep but no matter how hard he try, he just couldn't do it.
He groans out in displeasure frustrated that he couldn't sleep. His ruby eyes opened wide and glued to the ceiling with no escape from his thoughts.
"Damn it!" He cursed out loud.
As he just laid on his bed, a thought then suddenly came in his mind. His hand instinctively went out as it reaches for his cheek. He touched a certain spot on his cheek, the same spot in which the angel kissed him. Somehow, the warm fuzzy feeling was still lingering on his face. He then brought out the gem as he gave it another look. It looks like a normal white gem that you'll see everyday on your local jewelry shop. But then, something weird happened. It suddenly glowed brightly before emanating a blinding white hue. Soon, another sensation came. The sensation of burning. The gem started pulsing with heat which burns of Damian's hand but no matter how hard he tries, he couldn't get the gem off. Damian yells in pain as he could feel it tearing apart his skin with the intense blaze. Suddenly, his grip manages to loosen as he quickly throws the gem away as it crashes on the wall of his room. He then looks at his palm which was scorched and smoking.
Suddenly, his body felt warm. At first he didn't mind it as he was used to high levels of heat but it continues to heat up more until it became unbearable. His body immediately shot upwards as he realised he was... sweating!! Really profusely. Due to the heat, he immediately takes off his shirt as he just sat on his bed shirtless but it didn't help. Suddenly, the heat was cranked up extremely. It was so sudden that it almost made his suffocate. He groans in pain due to the extreme heat he was feeling. His ears started ringing loudly making him deaf towards his surroundings.
Suddenly, he could feel his chest throbbing with pain.
"Aghh!!" He grunts in pain as he clutched his chest. He could feel his heartbeat rising and his muscles failing him. The feeling of having his heart torn out, that was what he felt. He tries to stifle his moans of pain by biting his lips but it didn't help. After a few moments, he gave up and grunts loudly. Not only that, he suddenly felt the sensation of being stabbed in the back. Not realising his position, he fell from his bed onto the ground.
His eyes starts to tear up from the pain as his vision was getting blurry. He then suddenly coughed from the pain and he felt something dripping from his lips. He could taste the iron and feel the black liquid escaping his mouth.
"B-blood!"
He could see his blood staining the floor below him. His hand drowned in the pool of his own blood. Soon, his legs and hand started giving in as he fall completely on the ground. His body spasms from the extreme pain.
"F-fuck!!!" He cursed in his mind as his consciousness was giving in.
Am I going to die?" He thought to himself as the area around him starts to go dark. However, before his vision was completely blacken, he swore he could have saw something. He thought his was completely out of his mind as his consciousness slowly fades away. His body lying frozen on the ground covered in his own blood. Suddenly, he could see a white feather landing in front of him, floating slightly on the pool of blood before he completely blacks out.
He didn't dream of anything. It was just black. Was he dead? Is this the afterlife meant for demons? His mind just wander through the darkness for endless hours until he saw something in front of him. It was a small light from far away. He immediately tries to reach it and he was getting closer and closer and closer. When it was directly in front of him, he reaches out completely grabbing it as it blinds him.
His eyes suddenly opens up a little. His vision was still blurry. He felt tired and couldn't move his body. The only thing he could try was to open his eyes fully. After a while, his eyes open fully and he realised he was still in his room. He then slowly gains his energy back as he tries to sit up. He leans his body on his bed and forces himself to lean on his bed. He struggles for a while but he was finally able to sit up straight. He tries to calm his mind as figure out what the hell just happened. He looked around his room and was weirded out, there was no sign of his blood anywhere.
"What the hell just happened to me?" He thought to himself before he suddenly remembers the pain he suffered. He instinctively grabs his chest but calms down as it wasn't in pain anymore. Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he suddenly felt weird. His hand that was grasping his chest, it didn't feel any fabric. He looks down to see his abdomen flash bare.
"What the..." He stood up as he continues to feel his body. He was shirtless... but what happened. Suddenly, something caught the corner of his eyes. He turns to it and saw something lying on the floor. It was a torn piece of red fabric.
"Wha?" He picked it up and brought it in front of his eyes. It was definitely what's left of his shirt but why was it torn to pieces. As he observes it more, he suddenly realised something. He gazed into the mirror and realised something different about him.
He was... jacked... Maybe not on the level of Zill but he was definitely well-built then before. Actually, maybe he was like Zill. He then gazes into the mirror even more touching his chest and stomach,. exploring his changes. A six pack was definitely present where it wasn't before.
"Am I dreaming?" He asks himself as he continues checking out his own body. His eyes than travels to his arms realising how muscular they've became. He gently touches them and realised the stiffness of his arms.
"What the hell?" He was weirded out by the situation as he retreats a few steps back. A short smile formed on his face as he realised the changes on his body before...
"Hehe, you look so cute when you're sleeping!" A feminine voice giggled from besides him. Damian's eyes immediately bulges in shock as he shot his face to his side. His mind suddenly went into panic when he noticed there was a person inches besides him. He immediately recognised the owner of the voice. It was the same angel that gave him the gem, the same angel that died in front of him.
"Hi..." She greets him with an innocent and wide smile.
