I wake up to a knock on the door. I look around and see Riley is gone. When it's your roommate's birthday they will come in and wake up the one girl, but let the birthday girl sleep in. I hear another knock.
"Come in!" I yell out. Sitting up and looking at the door. I see a blonde man walk in.
"Hey Darlin', I've been waiting 15 years to see you again." He said "I'm JW"
"Hi," I say timidly. I have been so excited to meet him. I have a million things to tell him, but I feel like my brain is mush. I just can't seem to get anything out.
"I understand you are excited and nervous. You have been hearing about me and from me for many years." He explains "We will have lots of time to talk and get to know each other."
"Okay" I feel like I look so dumb. I hear him growl.
"You aren't dumb. You are brilliant. I have been getting updates on you for 16 years. I have never been disappointed in you. You are amazing. You are just getting used to having me around, that's all"
"Alright" I say smiling at him. I finally meet his bright red eyes.
"There is my beautiful mate" he says smiling at me.
I look down and blush. "I wanted to thank you for helping my brother write letters to me. So, I knew he was okay." I mumble still looking down.
He takes long strides over to me, sits on the side of my bed, and hugs me close. "I will always do everything and anything to help you feel better. I couldn't imagine not knowing if my brother had died. I knew how much Ares meant to you, so I had to help him." He says sincerely.
"Did CPW really name Ares and I?" I ask him
"Peter?"
"I guess"
"Captain Peter Whitlock, that's his name." He tells me "I picked your name, he picked Ares to match yours."
"If your brother his Captain Peter Whitlock that means your Major Jasper Whitlock." I say looking up at him in awe.
"Yeah, I am, darlin" he says while petting my hair. I snuggle closer into his side. I feel a tingle wherever he is touching me. He starts to purr, and it makes me feel like I can fall asleep in an instant. "Let's get up and get you fed." He says after a little while.
We both get up.
"I'll let you get changed, darlin" he says, clearly feeling my nerves. He leaves the room. I quickly change so I can go back to him faster.
I run out of my room and run right into him. He wraps his arms around me, so I don't fall. "Hi" I say looking up.
"We are back at the hi's" He says chuckling. "You should go eat breakfast. I am going to get your file." He says.
"Okay" I say obediently. I go to the cafeteria and get some food from the kitchen. I grab some eggs, a smoothie and fruit. I start to eat and then I look up and see Jasper sitting across from me.
"I realized you would have no one to eat with, so I thought you might want company." He explains
"Thanks" I say.
"Do you want me to tell you about where we live, while you eat?" He asks
"Yes, please." I tell him. I start to eat.
"Well, we live on a farm as you know. There are horses to ride there. Your brother loves to ride the horses. There are newborns there training for the Volturi. They get trained in a different area then the main house. Your brother works in the main house. He works with the slaves. We do have slave training, as well. There is a slave house near to the main house, for all the slaves to stay in. believe it or not Charlotte, Peters mate also helps train mates. So, we are generally very busy. When Ares is turned, he will move to head of security. Charlotte will move to Slaves, and I hope you will help train the new mates."
"Wow," I say, as I finish up my food. "That's a lot to take in." I would be willing to help train the mates. It gives me something to do during the day"
"That's very true, darlin'. Forever is a long time to do nothing." He says, "I have been told you love to learn, so I put a library in the manor."
"You did?" I say excitedly
"Yes, I did." He said smiling at me taking my hands. "We should probably get you packed."
"Alright," I say.
We go back to my room. I notice he has some plastic boxes and a few suitcases. I start to pull my clothes out of my closet and put them into the suitcases. Major Whitlock starts to pull out my other stuff from my nightstand and desk. We quickly are able to pack things up. We go to the main room. He sits down on a couch. Even when he's sitting, he still looks like he could command an army. He puts his arm around me when I sit down. I cuddle into his side.
"What would you like to know?" Major Whitlock asks.
"I would like to hear about your coven, from you Major." He growls.
"You never have to call me Major." He says, "You only have to call me Jasper."
"Okay, Can I hear about your coven, Jasper?" I ask
"OUR coven consists of five total." Jasper says making emphasis that this is my coven as well. "You have my Captain Peter. He is a complete jokester. He tends to find trouble easily. Charlotte is his mate; she keeps him in line. We then have Ares your brother. You probably know all about him, but I'll tell you about him from my perspective. He is the first one to help Peter in his antics. He gets his job done better then any human can. He is crazy about you. You are his best friend and pride. Anyone has anything negative to say about you, he is the first one to step up. Then there is you and I, that's our coven." He tells me.
"Can you tell me about when my brother moved in?" I ask sitting enjoying hearing about my brother.
"Your brother moved in when he was five years old. Peter told me he needed to come to the ranch. I would lock myself in my office and deal with the newborns. I avoided him. I didn't know he was your twin till later. I didn't treat him the nicest. Peter would tell me to try to get to know him, but I won't listen. I one day heard a weak knock on my office door. I told who ever it was to come in. He came in with my blood bags for the day. He looked like he had been crying. I dismissed him quickly wanting him out of my sight. That night I listened to him cry. The next day he delivered my blood and I demanded what was wrong. He told me that he missed his sister. I dismissed him again. It took till he was 8 years old before I was willing to be around him. He told me all about his twin sister. I decided to write her a letter from him." He tells me looking down at me, smiling.
"He told me, his sisters name and that was when it clicked. That you were his mate. I knew I had to help him. With the time I spent with him I ended up loving him like my own brother." He finished.
"Wow, he never told me any of that." I told him.
"I'm not surprised. When he got to writing his own letters, he probably didn't want to tell you about the bad start." He said looking guilty. "By the time he was writing his own letters him and I were close. I did everything I could to give him a good childhood."
"I'm glad, he had you and the rest of the coven." I told him
The rest of the girls walk in after they are done their classes. They all stop and pause for a minute. Heidi comes in and gets all the girls attention. Riley comes and sits on the other side of the couch from Jasper and I.
"Girls" She addresses "this is Major Whitlock. He is Athena's mate."
They girls all immediately begin to whisper to each other. We learn about the Whitlock family in class. We learn specifically about the Major and Captain and the impact they had on coming out of the coffin. We also learn about their part in the newborn wars. We don't learn about Charlotte, though. I will have to ask why, later. The girls will have to call him Major Whitlock. We are taught that if we ever have contact with the coven, we must be extremely respectful. We are to address Jasper as Major Whitlock and Peter as Captain Whitlock.
"How did you know that Athena was your mate, sir?" One of the girls asks him.
"I just new from the moment I saw her," He said. He clearly was keeping his covens secrets, cause he and Ares have told the story a little different to me.
"Are you sure she is your mate, Jasper?" Jessica asks. He growls clearly upset.
"You must be Jessica." He says "Don't worry you will be coming for further mate training in a few months. Your mate told us to work your attitude right outta you."
I smile into his shoulder. He kisses the top of my head in response knowing I am happy. He told essentially said I will get my payback.
"How is Ares, sir?" Riley asks him.
"When I left Ares was sleeping. The night before he was making sure I was gonna come home with his sister." He tells her while chuckling. "Your mate also says hello, he is staying at the ranch till he comes and gets you."
"Really?" Riley replies
"Yes," Jasper says
"Tell him Hi back, please." She says shifting around excitedly.
"Where are you taking her on her first date?" Another girl askes
"I am taking her out for dinner tonight." He says
"Really?" I ask looking up at him
"Yeah. I thought you would like to go out tonight before we leave. I will take you out on another date as soon as your settled when we get back to the ranch." He explains "I just thought you might like to have a date before meeting the rest of the coven."
"I like that idea. Does Heidi know?" I ask
"Yes, I told her when I went to go speak to her when you started breakfast." He told me
"Girls, dinner time. I know you want to get to know Major Whitlock more, but he needs to leave." Heidi walks in and tells the girls.
"Go give your good-byes to Riley." Jasper tells me.
"Okay, Jasper" I tell him.
Jessica gasps. "Major, she just called you Jasper. You need to punish her." She says with a smug look on her face.
"Why would I punish my mate for using my name? That wouldn't be smart." He tells her.
Her face falls and I smile at Jasper. He kisses my forehead. I go over to Riley and give her a big hug. Her and I both tear up.
"I'll miss you Ath" Riley says
"I'll miss you too, Riley." I reply. "I love you."
"I love you too," Riley tell me. "Be safe, I'll see you again."
"I will be safe. Of course you will see me again." I tell her. We both burst out laughing. "Can we walk her to the cafeteria?"
"Of course we can, darlin" Jasper replies running his hands through my hair.
I hold her hand as we walk to the cafeteria. I let go and slowly walk away. I look back at her as I walk away.
"You will see her again, I promise." Jasper said.
We walk out the door and get into a black Bentley, with blacked out windows.
