"So... Athena... explain to me what the hell is going on? Why are there people willing to kill for you?" Damian asks her.

"Well... it all had to do with my origin. At the start, I was merely just a normal gem but... throughout the years, I've collected holy energy that I store inside myself." Athena explains as she floats around.

"How much holy energy are we talking about?"

"Enough for a... cleansing..." Athena explains shortly which immediately made Damian's eyes bulge. Cleansing was the angel's main arsenal. Something so powerful, that even they were to afraid to use. Luckily, Damian studied about it in their history class.

"Holy fuck..." Damian gasped out.

"You can say that again, but it's only energy 'enough' for a cleansing. I can't actually use it to cleanse! I don't have the ability to do so!" Athena explains which made Damian's worry slightly dwindle.

"So, those people want you... for energy? What for?" Damian asks her again.

"I'm not sure myself. Throughout the years, there were many people like them but... their intentions are unclear unlike their desperation!" Athena answers with a serious tone.

"Well then, there's another thing I'd like to ask? Can you explain why I'm suddenly... like this?" Damian points his hand at the mirror showing his chiseled body. Athena stood up and looked at his body before moving closer and examining it thoroughly. She started touching his skin bit by bit, looking as if she's trying to figure something out. Damian started feeling uncomfortable at the sight of a woman touching his body here and there.

"Hey! What're you doing huh?" Damian asks her as he wasn't sure of her intentions.

"Huh... interesting..." Athena suddenly retreats before rubbing her chin in curiosity.

"What?"

"Damian can I ask you something? Did something happened to you before this? Anything weird?" She asks him.

"Well, when I got home after I left the crash site, I decided to look at you, well the gem anyways. Then, you started burning and actually scorched my hand!" Damian explains as he brought out his left palm. Traces of burned fur and skin could be seen.

"Then, my whole body, felt like it was suddenly on fire... and as a demon, that's saying something. Plus, it's like there was something stabbing my back repeatedly and it felt like my heart was getting fucking ripped out straight from my chest! I don't know what happened but... it's the most painful experience I've ever felt in my life and shortly after that, I passed out!" Damian explains.

"And then I woke up, and you were there! So... any ideas?" Damian asks her.

"Well, this is also a first for me... usually, you will feel some sort of pain but not on the level that you described... Anyways, your body seems to have undergone some sort of extreme change because of that! This is weird!" Athena explains and she was also just as clueless as him.

"Wait, I thought you're supposed to be smart or something!" Damian lashes out at her as he raises an eyebrow.

"Look kid! I'm wise... not superiorly smart!!" She rebuttals as she crosses her arms.

"Yeah, yeah whatever! And what's with the 'kid' thing? I thought we've agreed upon my name?!" Damian retorts.

"Well, I am technically older than you so... isn't calling you a kid fair? 'plus it's not my fault you're acting like one!' " She quickly mutters the last part making Damian turn his head back to her.

"What did you say?" He asks her as he definitely heard her say something insulting.

"Nothing!" She was quick to dismiss it before whistling away. Damian just shook his head at her behaviour.

"So, you too don't have any idea about what happened to me?" Damian asks her.

"Well, not exactly..." She suddenly says which made Damian curious.

"What'd you mean?"

"Well, I only said this is weird... not that I don't know exactly what happened to you!" She explains. Damian just listen on.

"Well, after examining your body... thoroughly..." She swoons at the last part as she just stares at him seductively making him flinch.

"Look! Just get to the point will ya?!!" Damian lashes out at her.

"Okay! Okay! Gee..." She pouts before suddenly lighting up her hand in a bright white light. Soon, an image of a body came out, just like an X-Ray scan as it flutters in front of Damian.

"What's this?" Damian asks her.

"This... is your body or to be more precise... what's in your body." Suddenly, she twists her hands sideways as the image enlargens fully engulfing Damian. It was like looking at the stars as there were many elements passing him so quickly. He was shocked and amazed at the same time. The enlargement continues until it reached a certain spot. Damian just observes the moving image before it stops in front of him revealing something that's supposedly is inside him. It was sort of object that was expanding and contracting in a pulse and a sort of beating sound was made each time it moved. Damian immediately recognised the part she was showing.

"Is this-

"Yes! It's your heart!" Athena cuts him off.

Damian observes it more watching it beat before his eyes. It was truly mesmerising. After a while, he noticed something odd. There was sort of a bright spot on or in his heart... He wasn't quite sure at the moment.

"What's this?" He asks her as his fingers land directly on the bright spot.

"That!! Is me!" She explains which made Damian's eyes bulge.

"That's... you?" He was confused at what she meant.

"Well, more appropriately, that's my core! It's successfully implanted in your heart which might actually have caused you to feel some sort of heart attack like the chest pain you explained earlier!" She explains.

"Now, with the successful synthesizing, I am now apart of you! This allows you to be able to see and converse with me!"

"Wait so... you mean that I'm the only one that can see you?" Damian asks her as he walks around the image of his supposedly heart.

"Well, there are people who have high detection ability like that lady from earlier who can sense my presence but they aren't actually able to see me! But don't worry, I learnt my lesson and now, no one will be able to detect me!" She continues her explanation as she follows the curious Damian as he walks around the image, looking closely at it.

"What else can you do?" Damian asks her.

"Well... my primary function is to increase your potential to it's maximum!" She explains.

"Potential?" Damian asks her.

"Let's just say, I can help you overcome anything!" Athena explains which Damian still doesn't understand but he chose to ask something else.

"So, you are also the one who turned me into... this right?" He points towards his body.

"Actually, there's another reason for that!" She said which made Damian curious.

"Tell me!" He orders her.

"Alright Damian!" She oblige before skipping in front of him.

"May I?" She suddenly asks him for his permission as she raises his hand.

Damian nods giving her his permission. She then lightly touched the centre of his chest before suddenly the area around him becomes distorted. In a flash, it felt as if he's going deeper and deeper into his body. After a few seconds, the distortion stopped and he now arrived in a sort of empty space. There was nothing around him, not even Athena. He continued looking around the pitch black space with nothing in sight. It's as if, he was transported into nothingness. Just as he was about to stop looking, something bright briefly flashed in his eyes. He immediately turns his face towards the direction of the flash and saw something in a distance. It was bright, the only source of light available.

He tries to walk towards it but he felt weird. It's as if there wasn't a floor underneath him but he was sure he was walking as the mysterious object was getting larger and larger. It truly made his brain confused and head hurt a little bit but he preserved. Soon, he reached the object but alas, he didn't know what it was. It was sort of a sphere but it was only made up by some sort black and white substance that continues to move around. The sphere was sometimes mostly black and changed into mostly white and sometimes into something in between. Even after a few minutes, he still didn't recognize it.

Then, he could feel a presence besides him. He didn't flinch but instead turns his head slowly and sees Athena.

"What is this?" He asks her as she finally walks besides him.

"This... is the core of your life. Precisely, your soul!"

It didn't surprise him even more as he just stares at the object. He then tries to touch it as his hand slowly reaches out for it. As his hand got closer it suddenly vibrate. The closer he get, the more vigorous it vibrates. Damian immediately stops in hand in fear of what might happen. He turns to Athena and she just smiles at him.

"Go on!" She insisted as her smiles calm him down a little.

He thrusts his hand further until he finally touches it. Suddenly, it broke off but not in pieces but a sort of wave. It then suddenly climbed up his hand and made Damian freak out.

"What the?!!" He jumps around as he shook his hand wildly trying to get rid of the moving object slithering up his arms. He then heard laughter and immediately shot towards Athena who was holding her stomach while bending over a bit as she laughs her heart out.

"What's so funny??!!" He asks her in panic as he still tries to get rid of the wriggling object.

"It's harmless!! Why are you panicking?!!" She continues to laugh over him as she wipes the tears of her eyes due to the humorous event.

"What'd you mean it's harmless?!" He asks her in panic as it felt weird having it moving about.

"Try to focus your thoughts on your hand!" She suggests as she stops her laughter.

"What?!"

"Try it!" She tries to urge him.

Damian then tries to calm himself down as he looks at the palm of his hand. He tries to clear his head and focuses his vision only on his palms. Suddenly, the object stops it's movement before moving towards his palms and forms itself back into a ball as it floats on his arms.

"It... it worked?" Damian couldn't believe it.

"Congratulations!!" Athena congratulated him as she claps her hands. The echoes of her claps traveling through the bright space.

Damian looked proud at himself before a light bulb suddenly went inside his head. He tries to focus the vision more on his hand before the object suddenly shapeshifts from a sphere to a pyramid. His eyes bulge at his success before he squints his eyes trying it again. It than transformed into a tree and then into star.

Athena just watches the curious Damian as he continuesly changed it shape. It took form of many shapes before it suddenly transformed into something that confused her. It transfromed into a... kangaroo? A female one... Athena became curious but just as she was about to ask him, he changed the shape again this time into her.

"Look, it's you!" Damian says as he holds his hand out.

Athena just giggles at his behaviour as if he was a kid who just got his first candy.

"Now... let's try something else!" She suggested at him.

"What?" He stares at her as the object in his hand transforms back into a sphere.

"Notice the two different colours? Try separating them!" She suggest as she takes one step back.

Damian raises an eyebrow but listens to her anyway. He tries to focus his vision at it. Nothing happened at first. He tries harder and something happens, the two colours sort of split off before the middle starts tearing itself apart. He was halfway before he suddenly felt tired and it reverted back to its original form.

"What?" He was confused before trying it again. This time, focusing even harder than before. He tries to split it but the same thing happened again and it reverted back to a ball.

Grrrghhh

He grunts before trying it again, and again and again, straining his brain and his eyes before his legs suddenly give in and he fell to the ground. He pants out as he just sat on the floor, consumed by fatigue.

Athena moves besides him and crouches.

"I...hah... I can't..." He pants out tired as he tries to recover from his fatigue.

"I'll help!" She suddenly offers before extending her palms. Damian looks at her for a while before he extends his own palm containing the sphere above hers.

She looks at him for a while before her mouth opens.

"Now!"

Both of them stares at the sphere and concentrated their minds as it starts to split. More and more until it almost became two but there was still a bit more still converged.

"Come on!!" Damian growls as he concentrates his vision even more before suddenly a bright shine occured.

After a while, the bright shine dies down before Damian saw two spherical orbs in his hand. A bright orb, glimmering beautifully and emitting a warm glow and a dark one which felt sort of calming and cool. Athena suddenly moves in front of him before explaining.

"The one on your right hand, the dark orb... that... is your soul!" She points out as Damian became intrigued. He stares at it even more looking as it sort of waves around.

"So, this is my lifeforce? My soul?" He asks her again in confirmation. He was in the very least annoyed that the colour of his soul is black signifying demons. Why can't it be red or something?

"Yes!" She responds briefly.

Suddenly, he diverts his attention to the other orb. The one that was shining brightly in his left palm.

"And this?" He asks her.

"That... is Athena's soul!" She reveals which made Damian gaze at her.

"A-Athena's? You mean your owner's soul?" He asks her as his eyes was as wide as golf balls.

"Yes!"

"Wh...wha..." Damian was speechless at the sight of it. He had so many questions running through his mind but Athena got to that first.

"It seems that, in her last breath, during the synthesizing process, a piece of her soul was injected inside you! That might explained why you experienced an extremely level of pain!"

"Both your soul and hers are opposites so... converging and integrating them together required a lot of power causing a lot of pain because your body needed to adjust and reform into a mold that could take both souls."

"But... but why? Why would she do that? Why would she give me her soul?" Damian asks her confused by it. Athena then kneels back in front of Damian before smiling softly.

"Like she said, you are special. Demons and angels have a feud that lasted for centuries but you... set aside your differences and tried to help her!"

"But I wasn't completely sure-

"It doesn't matter. The moment you tried to help her, you already proven that you're not like other demons! It shows who you are as a person... someone she can trust!" Athena explains. Her smile suddenly fades into a frown before she suddenly looks at Damian.

"What I tell you from now on is very important!!" She suddenly says in a serious tone catching his attention.

"What you've experienced from the moment you found her, from the moment you've met me, what happened to you, everything!!! You mustn't tell anyone about it! Your life and the lives of the people you love depend on it. There are shadows hiding in the dark, even among the light, no one can escape the corruption of obtaining absolute power. This secret is what you need to keep to your grave! The only person that you can trust is me! I know this seems like a heavy burden and I know I promised to protect you but you won't be safe if anyone finds out especially if those who seek me comes for you! Athena escaped with her life barely on the line and still she died. Those people that caused this might have given up on finding me but promise me... Promise me that you'll keep this a secret!" Athena explains as her gaze was locked onto Damian's eyes. Damian knowing the risk that he took looks back into hers.

"I promise!" He says with a steely gaze earning a smile from Athena.

She then looks down carving a disappointed look.

"I'm sorry if I sounded a bit serious, I didn't mean to scare you or anything!" She admits.

"Nah, it's fine, plus... I've agreed to this right! So keeping a secret shouldn't be that hard!" Damian says in a bright voice void of worries.

"I know, it's just... I've been lonely all my life... The only friends that I've ever had, or at least the only one I remember to treat me as something more than a token of power was Athena. The moments we've had as she grew up, I was truly... overjoyed and happy to have a friend. Now that I lost her, I feared I would be alone again with no one to hold onto... until I met you!"

Suddenly, Damian saw something. He could see a shine in her eyes. The shine coming from tears flowing down her eyes dropping down her chin, crashing on the floor. She was crying. He didn't know if it was possible but she's doing it now.

Suddenly, she feels something warm on her shoulder. She looks to her side to see Damian's hand on her shoulder as he gave her a warm look.

"We're friends now right? And I'll always look after my friends. You can count on that!" Damian says to her in a calming and warm voice.

She couldn't control herself as she starts to sob even more. A smile carved into her face amidst all her tears before she suddenly crashes her body into Damian's, hugging him tightly. Damian was taken aback by the sudden hug but managed to stabilise himself as he hugs her back. He enjoyed her warmth that she was emitting. Somehow, having a new friend, it's a feeling Damian could never forget.

She continues to cry her heart out as Damian indulges in comforting her. After a while, she separates before wiping her tears.

"Thank you!!" She thanks him while her hands wipe her tears away. Somehow, Damian could never control himself when she smiles. It made feel him happy like how he would if Kayla smiled. Maybe it's because he recognised the bond they have. The oath that both of them took for each other. He suddenly realised he was smiling at her before turning his face away.

He suddenly stands up before walking to the centre of the place and placing the orbs back into it's original spot. The two orbs automatically combines and formed back into it's original state. Damian then looks at her.

"So... how bout we get out of here?" He asks her as he was ready to leave the place.

Athena wipes the last tears from her eyes before standing up.

"Yeah, you're right! Let's get out of here!" She says before snapping her fingers. The area around his starts distorting again and he experienced the whole transition again before landing inside his bedroom.

"Ahh, it's good to be back!" He breathes a sigh of relief before lying on his bed. From the corner of his eyes, he then saw Athena who was standing besides his bed. He looks up as he stares at her face.

"Can I... lie next to you?" She suddenly asked him. Damian immediately blushes and didn't know what to say. This might be the only time he's gonna have a hot chick lying in bed next to him so he shyly agrees.

"S-sure!" He stutters as he permits her to lie next to him. Athena thanks him cutely before proceeding to lie on his bed but as she lands on it, it didn't make a sound. Proof that she was inanimate and only he could see her. Just as both of them lie staring at the blank and boring ceiling, Damian couldn't think of how peaceful it felt after all the chaos from earlier.

It was truly a blissful moment.

"Damian, don't you feel horny that a sexy woman is lying next to your shirtless self on your bed?" Athena asks him nonchalantly.

And now the moment is ruined. Damian grunts annoyed as he sat back up on the edge of his bed and massages his temples.

"What?!!" Athena asks as if she didn't do anything wrong.

"Great, you ruined the moment!! You know sometimes it's better if you just kept your mouth shut!" Damian says to her.

"Well, if I kept my mouth shut, than I wouldn't be able to tell you that you're late to your parents meeting!"

Damian's eyes immediately bulges when she says that. He shot his face upwards and glares at his wall clock to see that an hour had passed.

"Oh shit!!!" He cursed before jumping out of his bed and sprinting across his room in a haste. He then swiftly opens his door, almost breaking the hinges before Athena calls him.

"Wait!! Damian!!" She screams making him pause in his tracks.

"What?!!" Damian asks her in a hurry ready to sprint across the hallway.

"Your clothes!! You're not wearing a shirt remember?" She reminds him before a look of realisation flashed on Damian's face.

"Shit!! You're right!!" Damian thought as he almost went to his parents naked. He then panics before suddenly dashing towards his drawer. He then opens it up barbarically before scrounging up for any clothes to wear. As the clothes fly behind him and forms a mountain of clothes, Athena noticed something from the pile. Damian was too busy panicking and didn't pay attention to her.

"Why don't you wear this?" Damian looks back swiftly and sees Athena holding a set of clothing.

After a while, he exited his room. He now wore a new set of outfit to replace his old torn one.

He fixes his clothings for a bit as Athena walks besides him.

"You look dashing!!" Athena compliments.

He now wore a black hoodie with a red outline, underneath it was a black shirt with white wings painted on it, a set of red headphones hung on his neck and now he finally wore a set of blue jeans for pants. He usually doesn't like such clothings but he knew to not doubt the fashion instinct of a female plus it's the only thing that didn't look stupid together among all the other outfits he had in his closet.

"Really?" He asks her feeling unsure.

"Positive!" She beams at him with a smile.

"Okay then, let's go see what my mom and dad wants!!" Damian says before both of them walk down the long corridor together.

From this moment on was the start of his journey, with a newfound friend. What lies ahead... the spark of an adventure into the unknown.
