"Alright Grillby my man I'll see you later!" The red head sighs and waves his fellow gym leader off. Before returning to the kitchen of his bar so he can get to work on the pile of dishes he left behind. Well not so much as left behind. But dishes he hadn't gotten to due to the Ice Chasms case.
Robin whistles a tune as he leaves Snowdin, eager to get back to his little Nice Cream stand. It was a pretty good day as he and Grillby were able to do a complete sweep of the Ice Chasms and were able to give it the A-OK.
Things were as they should be, the pokemon have come out of hiding, and are going about their home as they should. Mimikyu from what they had heard from Sans and Toriel is not only calm, but content with the little girl MK snuck in with. And Undyne is currently doing an underground wide search for Team Gold Diggers.
The Nice Cream maker was relieved that no one was seriously hurt, especially Max. The guy had enough stress as it is. No doubt the poor poke-nurse was going to working through all his breaks and double overtime to get the center back into working order.
Seel the Sea Lion Pokemon and pre evolved form of Dewgong. These pokemon live in very cold climates, inhabiting icebergs and using its horn to break through ice it hunts its prey during the night and resting in the sun.
"Stomp Pincer!" Robin stayed hidden from view as the two trainers battled. "Stay strong seel. Slide on the ice and use headbutt." Both the crustacean and sea lion were using the snow and ice covered ground to aid them.
The gym leader couldn't help but feel excited as the two pokemon and their young trainers battled. From the looks on the kids faces they were going all out. Which on one hand is great considering that he was in for a challenge. "Seel use ice shards." Although on the other hand...
"Pincer counter with bubble beam!" His poor Nice Cream stand ended up taking some major abuse since it was off to the side. Easily becoming a casualty. But it wasn't until some of the ice from their colliding attacks fly off in his direction that he found himself startled. "Ah! Cold. Coldcoldcold!"
Frisk and Napstablook stop the fight in unison as they follow the sound of the scream. "Uh oh!" Together the two rookies rush over, both surprised to find Robin on the snow covered ground shivering. "Sorry!" Frisk and her opponent apologized profusely to the man.
Only for him to chuckle and wave their concerns away. "It's ok. Don't worry about it, I shouldn't have gotten too clos-achoo!" Quickly Frisk returns her krabby in exchange for her abra.
"Allen I need you to teleport us to Sans and Papyrus's house!" It was a strange feeling as both Frisk's friend and Robin found themselves teleport within in a blink of an eye. One minute they were in a beautiful snow covered forest, and the next they were in a nice warm log cabin.
Startling the residents and guests. "Mom! I'm home, and I brought guests~" It wasn't technically her house, but with her mom and brother here and the actual owners letting her stay whenever she wants...its considered her home away from home.
Papyrus being the first to recover smiles at his friendly rival. "AH FRISK! WELCOME BACK~ THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS PREPARED LUNCH. OH ROBIN AND A NEW FRIEND HAS COME TO JOIN US! HELLO!" Sans smirks at the trio as Napstablook fumbles with a reply to the optimistic chef.
"Hey look who's here. Take a swim Rob?" Another sneeze escapes the blue haired man. "No. Found myself in the blast zone while these two battled." Concerned Toriel checks his temperature, grateful as her son hands the soaked gym leader a towel.
"Thanks~" A glance to the left finds the two kids fidgeting in place, still feeling guilty for getting him wet. "I take it they apologized correct?" Robin chuckles as the two sheepishly smiled at the fairy master.
Nodding their heads. "Yeah, they felt really bad about it, hence why we're here. Don't be so hard on them Mama Tori." Sans snorts. Unable to hide his laugh. "How many years has it been since I've heard That nickname."
The mentioned mom blushes. "Sigh, you children never seem to change, despite how old you get. Though you all seeming to get into trouble is also a constant." Asriel snickers as he approaches Frisk and Napstablook. "At this point mom should just adopt the whole underground."
His sister giggles at the joke. "I thought she had already?" Quickly the ten year old gasps next to her brother before looking at her friend. "Oh we didn't get a chance to finish our battle. Do you want to continue it after lunch Napstablook?" He hummed, clasping about his fingers.
Still unsure where he should be or what he should do. "I-I don't know. We originally battled to wait for Mr. Robin, and then used it decide who could challenge him first. But now he's here, and all of our pokemon are tired. Sorry i'm rambling again aren't I?" The poor guy deflates into himself.
As if his he could sink into his chair and disappear. Frisk takes a sip of her juice before continuing. "It's fine Napstablook. We don't have to, especially since you're right. Anyways you should battle him first since you were waiting for him way longer than I was." Now dried, the Nice Cream salesman enters the conversation.
"How long were you guys waiting for me?" Frisk could only shrug. "I don't know how long I was there, but Napstablook was already sitting by the cart waiting by the time I arrived. And then we had the battle." Robin then looks to the boy, hearing a quiet mumble. "About an two hours." Now it was Robins turn to feel guilty.
Two hours the kid was waiting out there for him? "Well that just won't do. If you're up for it Napstablook we can have our battle after lunch." For a moment the fifteen year old trainer sat stunned, before giving a small smile. "Thank you very much sir."
Happy for Napstablook Frisk takes one last bite of her lunch and hops off her seat. The young girls mind was made up as she grabbed her coat. Even though her and Napstablook had improved a lot since their first battle, she still didn't feel ready to tackle her second gym.
"I'm gonna do some more training while you guys battle. Then if it's ok I can battle you next Mr. Robin?" Eve stayed glued to Frisk's shoulder, becoming the perfect fluffy scarf. But on top of that, the poor fox pokemon felt a chill, not feeling one hundred percent.
So she kept quiet, content watching her trainer getting back into the swing of things and training up her new friends. "Sounds good little lady. I'll have your mom or Asriel call you when I'm ready."
Nodding she gives kisses to her family before waving. "I'm surprised she didn't ask to watch." Papyrus picks up her empty plate, smiling as he plops it into the sink, thinking out loud.
"FRISK WANTS TO BE STRONG! STRONGER THEN NAPSTABLOOK, MK AND THE GREAT PAPYRUS. YOU USUALLY DON'T LET TRAINERS SEE YOUR MATCHES ANYWAYS ROBIN. AS YOU'VE STATED IT WOULD GIVE OTHER TRAINERS AN ADVANTAGE IF THEY SAW THE POKEMON YOU POSSESS." Papyrus was right on the money.
Anyone could see that she was still insecure, and wanted to get some more confidence and experience. In the optimistic teen there was nothing wrong with wanting to improve, and it gave her more time to bond with her newly acquired Pikaboo, whom loved the little trainer dearly.
Currently Papyrus was still struggling with his own riddle challenge. Though he had managed to defeat Robin, he found himself struggling with gym three. He's found the location, knows who the gym leader is. But the riddle, and the typing he was going to inevitably face was going to prove a challenge.
"HMM PERHAPS AFTER FRISK'S MATCH WITH ROBIN, THE GREAT PAPYRUS SHALL CHALLENGE HER~ NYE HEH EHE HEHEHE." Satisfied with his plans Papyrus heads for his room, eager to grab some equipment for his own training. However before that could happen, he trips, landing face first onto the floor.
The culprit behind the tripping for once was not the little poochyena that just loved to torment him. Although he'd have to hunt the little wolf pokemon later since the culprit tried taking his bag again.
But no, Papyrus ended up falling face first due to an even more obnoxious reason. "SANS I TOLD YOU TO PICK UP YOUR CURSED SHOES! ONCE MORE YOU'VE LEFT THEM IN THE HALLWAY." Toriel and her son could only shake their heads in amusement as the brothers got into yet another banter.
to be continued
Author Notes: God guys i am so so sooooo sorry that it took me so long to update this story. With the holiday one shots, school and work and just in general not too sure what to do with this chapter, i found myself putting it off.
