Underleague

Chapter 31

Author Notes: Last time we had Frisk and Rosemary kick some serious bad guy butt. But it is now the perfect opportunity to switch perspectives and see how someone else is doing~ I do not own Undertale or Pokemon

3rd P.O.V

There was a momentary silence as both gym leader and trainer waited with bated breath. They knew this was the end-the deciding factor on who won this match. Snow puffed up all around as Robin squinted his eyes, hoping to better see who's pokemon was the sole survivor standing.

The adrenaline was fading and Robin sighed, offering his opponent a smile as he returned his final poke-partner. "Good job Napstablook-I'm happy to present you with your second badge! Congratulations!" This is was one of Robin's favorite moments being a gym leader.

"Ah sorry for winning um-I mean..." Napstablook couldn't stop his blush as he muttered a small thank you before taking his prize. Robin beamed at the young boy, unable to stop himself from feeling happy.

Most people-especially gym leaders would feel upset over losing. Often times on the surface the Nice Cream man encountered several gym leaders who found themselves depressed or lacking confidence after a loss.

But that wasn't the way the Underleague ran. Robin in general was a cheery fellow-always trying to look for the positives in life but more so then that he alongside his fellow gym leaders felt pride for challenging the newest generations. Seeing that passion and bonds of loyalty between trainers and pokemon.

"Napstablook make sure that whenever you're ready make sure you stop by to see Ms. Rosemary so she can give you the next gym leader riddle. I have no doubts that you'll do great!" Napstablook waved, saying his goodbyes.

Despite the lacking in numbers of Underleague participants this year-Robin could tell that this new set of participants were special. MK and Napstablook, both born down in the Underleague were his most recent pair of challengers.

Both boys had wowed the blue haired leader with their strength. He had no doubts whatsoever that they would make it to the elite four and maybe even give the champion a challenge.

With those thoughts there was so far only one more participant he needed to battle. Just like with MK and Napsta, Robin was sure Frisk's match would be just as memorable and as intense.

"Now I need to find her...hmm." Robin quickly grabbed his phone, punching in Asriel's number. In Frisk's rush to give Napstablook and Robin their privacy(and to get a little bit more training in) Robin was unable to grab her number.

Fortunately Asriel had told him that either him or his mother would be able to get ahold of the little ten year old. "Howdy~ Asriel here!" Robin ducked under one of the tree branches.

His destination was for Snowdin Town. "Hey dude~ It's Robin. Do you mind if you or your mom get in touch with Frisk? Napstablook and I just finished our battle." As went about his way through the forest he heard familiar shouting in the background.

"I WILL GET YOU THIS TIME YOU PESKY CANINE! MOVE ASIDE ASRIEL-THE GREAT PAPYRUS WILL NOT ALLOW YOU ANY MERCY IN PROTECTING HIM." Guess Papyrus is dealing with the poochyena again.

Asriel laughed faintly before responding to Robin's question. "Sure. Mom went with Sans to visit some friends over by Grillby's so I'll just call her. But wait-you guys finished already? It didn't really take too long considering most struggle with your gym. Who won?"

The nice cream man hummed in thought at the statement. It was true-his type of pokemon weren't really the easiest to deal with-especially in the beginning. But this place IS considered a challenging league for a reason, and would only get worse from here.

"Yeah. Napstablook kicked my butt good. He didn't even have much of a type advantage. I just sent him on his way." Usually trainers struggle the most with gyms three through five.

Not to say the higher level gyms were easy(they weren't...at all) but there was more type and pokemon variety by the time they reached gym number eight. "Awesome~ Are you-" Before the white haired boy finish his statement Robin heard something shatter on the other line.

Flinched from the sound. "NOOHOOOHOO! CURSE YOU IMPUDENT DOG! GET OUT OF MY CABINETS-WAIT STOP-" If he had to guess the shattering sounds meant Papyrus lost another couple of plates.

It wouldn't be the first time that Poochyena wrecked house. Remembering the Christmas party from three years ago at Grillbys still made the Nice Cream man shudder. Who knew the little wolf dog could do so much with two cans of whip cream? "Ack-hey! Give me back my scarf-NO! Bad poochyena."

Asriel started shouting startled the nice cream man. Robin was ready to ask what was wrong when Asriel screeched, forcing Robin to wince while pulling the phone far from his ears.

"Ah Flowey what are you doing out-oh no! Don't you dare- I'll call you back Robin! I'll make sure to get ahold of Frisk for you-later!" He could only shake his head as his friend hanged up on him. "Good luck Azzy." The second level gym leader sighed, stuffing the phone back into his overalls.

It would probably take a little while before Asriel got things under control and call Frisk. Really the only thing Robin had to do was heal his pokemon up. "...Guess it's time to pay Maxie a visit." Though the gym leader was looking forward to visit him, he hoped the ginger nurse was ok.

Thanks to the Team Gold Digger fiasco the pokemon center nurse was working overtime even more than he usually does. Other then Max, there was only a couple people within the whole underground who was licensed to care for pokemon.

Yes the underground population was nothing compared to the regions above-but that also included medical specialists. Currently there was one in each area. Toriel(although she was now in Snowdin for a period of time.

Then there was Max who was based in Snowdin but will more often then not go to back up the other little sectors of the underground. Bob and his relatives over in Waterfall then lastly Alphys over in Hotland.

Each one of them were dedicated with their jobs and Robin couldn't imagine taking care of so many trainers and their pokemon. Let alone someone like Max who is working ten times harder to get the pokemon center fixed up.

"Maybe I should get Max something before I arrive." The fatigued nurse loved his coffee and was due for something to cheer him up. Robin felt a brisk wind and shivered, and made his way to Rosemary's shop.

Not only did she have some good homemade pastries but her store was the one place in the underground Robin and Max would often go to when they were kids. Fondly he could recall all those times where after a long day of school they could relax and enjoy something sweet.

He could only hope she was there. However it only took five minutes for him to realize that wasn't the case. As that familiar smell of cinnamon and chocolate wasn't wafting in the air as it normally did. Robin did not see the nice elderly woman but a young black haired girl wearing a green sweater.

"Hoi Robby~ How are yous? Temy is watching Rosy's store~" Robin waved at the young girl, his eyes lighting up in recognition. "Hey Temy! It's been awhile. I'm doin alright. How are things going with you and your family?"

She hummed as she took a sip of her hot coco. "Goods~ Bob gots over his colds and Temmie wents exploring yesterday. And then Temtem and Temi each signed up for Mettas contest. It's gonna be cools~" Robin coughed out a laugh.

Just remembering why it was so difficult keeping up with the Tem family. Between their strong resemblance, both in their appearances and names-it was hard to keep track of who's being mentioned and doing what.

Bob fortunately being the eldest of the Tems made sure each sibling was colored a specific way. With Temy, who worked part time for Rosemary got the color green. It made family photos much easier and according to Bob way more organized.

"That sounds great!" Suddenly the pair hear the sound of crunching snow, growing closer and closer. "Ohhh ohhh! Welcome backs Rosy!" Robin turns around ready to greet his old teacher when he pauses. "My my if it isn't Robin. How are you doing dear?"

Looks like he doesn't need Asriel to call him back afterall. "Doing awesome! I see you got yourself an extra helper today huh?" Right beside Rosemary was the second gym leader's next challenger.

Frisk with her pokepartner Eve on her shoulder. "Hi Robin! Look! Ms. Rosemary gave me a special book~" She holds up her prize high in the air, and a wave of nostalgia hits him.

"Man it's been years since I've seen that." Back when Robin was a student he remembered it was Rosemary's favorite book to quote during class. "Of course, since you rarely seem to visit me anymore. These days you and Maxie are busier then combees. Always working."

A small blush burned Robins' cheeks as he offers her a sheepish apology. Making the girls surrounding him laugh. "It's alright dear. I know what you two do are important-just make sure to stop by every now and then. Buy some sweets." Frisk immediately goes into her pocket.

After all that chaos with the bear pokemon and Team Gold Digger, the young trainer could desperately use the sugar. "Can I have some of your cinnabuns and hot chocolate Ms. Rosemary? I got some money!" Proudly did the brunette offer it to the store owner.

"Sure thing sweety." Temy fumbled with the door, opening it for her boss when Robin pipes up. "Actually Ms. Rosemary-can you give me two cinnabuns, a hot chocolate and a coffee...I uh, was gonna head to the pokemon center and...came here to get some." He receives a sly smile from the elder woman.

Nodding her affirmative to the pair. "I'll be sure to give you what was made just this morning~ Temy do you mind going out and dropping off my sisters lunch to her? She forgot it again." Eagerly Temy salutes before dashing away, only to trip ten feet from the shop.

Everyone watched worried for the little teen, but Temy quickly raises her arm to wave at her boss. "Temy oks!" Holding back a small chuckle Rosemary heads inside-eager to get back to work now that she has a basket full of goodies.

"It'll be a couple minutes you two." In unison they thank the old shopkeep, only for Frisk's pokedex to go off. "?" Robin bit his lip as the rookie trainer answers, hearing her brother on the other line. "Hi Asriel. Um...i'm with Ms. Rosemary and Robin."

Asriel was exhausted, and though he felt bad that he couldn't really help out his friend, was glad he found his sister and that they were safe. "Oh ok good. Robin said he was looking for you. So I'm gonna let you go. Love you!"

A fast call that Frisk could only shrug at as she put her pokedex away. Unaware of the horrors her brother had been dealing with the last twenty minutes. She looked up at the blue haired man, tilting her head.

"Did you finish your battle with Napstablook? How'd it go?!" Robin would have to watch his words wisely. "It was a wicked match-and i'm just as excited for ours. But uh...I'm gonna eat and heal up my pokemon at the center. Hopefully get Maxie a chance to take a breather." Frisk nearly forgot.

Thanks to Team Gold Digger(and a bit from Undyne) the center was still in need of repairs. "Frisk, Robby, I have both of your orders. Also here's a coffee and Maxie's favorite treat. There's no charge so long as you deliver it to him."

Frisk waved her wallet-trying to get the kind store owner to change her mind on the free food but Rosemary was stubborn. "Consider this a thank you for helping me with that nasty pair of troublemakers earlier Frisk. On top of helping me gather berries." Pouting Frisk submitted, sipping her hot chocolate.

One day she'll be an independent trainer, just like Asriel. Robin chuckled at their antics. "Well then I'll be off to deliver the goods. Have a wonderful day Ms. Rosemary~" Frisk quietly followed after the energetic man, smiling as he hummed a cheery little tune to himself.

"Eeeeeveee~" Eve happily taking a bite of the sweet treat Frisk offered, together they follow after the happy go lucky Robin. Rosemary couldn't help but shake her head. "It's about time things started getting excited around here."
