Underleague

Chapter 38

Author Notes: Ok so one...i'm sorry this took me so fricking long to come out with. I've had the chapter for ages but along with prepping for halloween one shot week or my personal annual holiday hell on top of typing up several other series chapters in bulk.

Meaning this one was thrown on the backburner. For those of you wondering or are concerned about this series...chill. No i'm not on hiatus, i'm still typing up a crap ton. And due to that and work is why it took me so long.

Underleague will continue(even if it kills me in the process) besides even if i didn't want to(which won't happen)...Sen would never let me hear the end of it. Now i don't own pokemon or undertale...enjoy~

3rd P.O.V

It was a peaceful start to the day as someone's chatot decided to grace everyone's morning with a little wake up song. When Sans woke up, he sat up slowly, a large yawn breaking through as he started rubbing his blurry eyes...

He took a small glance outside, only to have his head fall back on his pillow. "Five more minutes." Chatot's wake up song was not very effective. And neither was Sans's alarm clock. It's been half an hour since the shrilly machine Papyrus set for him first went off.

At this point the clock stopped trying to ring him awake. "SANS! GET UP YOU LAZYBONES!" Besides his younger brother was far more capable of getting him out of bed anyways. "SANS! THIS ISN'T THE TIME-WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY!" The elder sibling jolted from shock as he's picked up.

Painfully ripped from his warm bed and soft blankets only to be carried downstairs. It was sooooo early, yet it seemed there were already problems. "Frisk? Frisk this isn't funny young lady!" If he wasn't attentive after Papyrus got him up he most certainly was now.

"Come on Frisk! We need to talk to you!" How did he sleep through Toriel and Asriel shouting his house down? "What's going on?" Toriel turned towards him, panic easily seen in her eyes. "Oh Sans, I got into a terrible argument with Frisk last night and now I can't find her anywhere!"

She didn't need to say anymore since Sans already had a pretty good idea what the fight was on. "Let me guess...the kid didn't want to hand over her mimikyu." Asriel groaned as he smacked his head. "Not here either..." He searched high and low for any sign of the brunette.

However despite checking all the cabinets, closets and rooms, she was nowhere to be found. "Unfortunately. I tried to explain to her that Pikaboo wasn't safe to be around as of this moment due to her anger issues." Toriel couldn't help getting worked up over the argument she had with her adopted daughter.

After researching more further on Pikaboo's species, the fairy gym leader found herself extremely concerned about allowing Frisk to carry such a dangerous pokemon. Originally it was just going to be a small talk over Pikaboo staying with her instead for a little while.

By taking Pikaboo under her wing, Toriel could properly see the mimikyu's behavior to try and figure out what caused such a violent reaction. But for once, Frisk and her didn't see eye to eye. And of course things escalated.

"You try her pokedex?" Asriel answered with a small sigh. "That was the first thing I tried when I went searching for her, no response. She's ignoring it." A hum escaped the hoodie wearing comedian before he felt a small nudge to his side.

Raising a small eyebrow he looked down to find the residential, trouble making poochyena. "FRISK YOU HAVE WON THIS INCREDIBLE MATCH OF HIDE AND SEEK-PLEASE SHOW YOURSELF!" A sheet of paper addressed to him wedged between sharp fangs. "Whatcha got there?"

Barking, the letter was released, allowing Sans to read while his two friends and brother continue their little hunt. "Huh..." His face scrunches up a bit before crushing the paper in his hands.

Making sure to hide the piece of parchment into his pocket as he throws on his winter jacket. "I'mma head out. If she's not here then she's probably still in Snowdin." It technically wasn't a lie. "Let us know if you find her!" Though there was no 'probably.'

He already knew where she was. The note she left to him said as much. "You got it. I'll be back in a zip~" Still this gave him an opportunity to talk to her one on one without interruption. Even though what happened in the forest wasn't her fault, there was still a lot of damage and pokemon were hurt.

"BROTHER! IT'S FAR TOO EARLY FOR YOUR PUN SHENANIGANS!" He needed answers about what was going on with her pokemon. Lucky for him, Frisk was at the pokemon center. Not only did it have more information on pokemon as well as experts-but it was also one of the best places for gossip and info to spread.

It was probably there that the rumors of the 'shadow pikachu' first started popping up. People of all sorts come and go, any sort of news flies like the wind there. With Frisk already there, he kills two murkrow with one stone. Maybe three since there's good food there and he was starving.

Meanwhile...

"Hey little buddy. Gotta warn you now that if your pokemon need a heal up, you're gonna have to wait a little while. I'm filled to the brim with patients." Max looked absolutely fatigued. He's been running two days on a diet of moomoo lattes and fast food MTT burgers.

And he hated how he had to rely on his old boss's fast food to keep going! Still, beggars can't be choosers as there was just too much for him to do. It was a miracle he wasn't in one of the clinic's patient beds. "About that...I was wondering. Can I help?"

The ginger paused mid sip of his drink to look down. Getting a good look at the little ten year old, now noticing that her gaze was filled with sadness and guilt. Something that shouldn't be on one so young.

He knew of what happened in the forest. Robin, though he was usually secretive of his gym battles had no choice but give him an explanation for all of the injured pokemon sent his way. It was an incredible, almost unbelievable story.

But Robin was no liar, the both of them have seen and lived a crazy life growing up in the Underleague. Not to mention he was the one that helped patched up all the people and their pokemon that decided to dive into the Ice Chasms when the evil pikachu rumor first started.

The wounds he tended too were horrific when he first saw them. Deep, painful gashes that jagged along the victims' flesh. Most of the people and pokemon that came to him had to get stitches, it was a mess.

Knowing that it was a mimikyu behind the attacks made sense considering the injuries, but it didn't ease his worries. Especially when he heard his little buddy caught the damn thing. To hear it went berserk, causing so much damage and suffering made him sick to his stomach.

He could only imagine the trauma the brunette was undergoing as she looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please Max! Me and Pikaboo want to make things right!" The name left a chill going down his spine. She still had it?

The nurse thought Robin said that Toriel was going to take it away..."I don't know kid. It's a lot of hard work, not to mention I don't think too many of the patients would be too comfortable with your...friend." He tried to word it as nicely as he could.

But a wince still formed on his face as Frisk's lips began to tremble, as if on the verge of crying. His heart was ready to shatter into a thousand pieces seeing that expression. "N-no need for the waterworks little buddy!" Not to mention Toriel was still in town.

If she found out that he made Frisk cry...Maxi would be wishing he still worked as Mettaton's assistant. "I'll let you do some small things-but you gotta listen to me ok?! Otherwise we'll both be screwed."

He felt ten years older as he tried to calm down the ten year old, watching her sniffle in a vain attempt of stopping the tears. By the time she got a grip of herself, the poke-nurses' break was over. "Alright, come with me." Eagerly she followed behind, reminding him of a growlithe puppy.

It was kinda cute. And unlike other kids, Frisk knew how to listen. "Put this stuff on." Having an assistant didn't sound like a bad idea. Especially since he was going to treat her the way Max always wanted when working his last job. With respect.

"Max..." Turning around he stifles a small chuckle as the girl pouts at him. The apron, mask and gloves he gave her were all way too big. "Sorry little buddy. Let's see if I can fix this for you." It was going to be another long, busy day for the ginger.

So him and his new assistant nurse were going to get moving. Carefully he readjusted the straps to her mask and apron, pausing a moment when realizing something felt off. "Hey Frisk where's your eevee friend?"

Blinking the young trainer points to her bag. "Eve hasn't been dealing with the cold too well, she's in my bag." Hearing her name, the fox pokemon pokes her head up and out, whining as her fur puffs up in an attempt to battle the freezing temperatures.

"Really? Eevees are well known for adapting and evolving based on their environments. Think this is the first i've heard of one not adjusting." Frisk could only shrug. Back up on the surface, the climate was much warmer, the weather more mild.

Even in winter, it didn't take long for snow to melt. It was a cake walk compared to what they were dealing with down here. "Hmmm, wait a sec, I got just the thing." With a tilted head she watches her friend move towards the healing center desk.

With a small grunt he leans over the counter, searching through drawers and the various nick knacks scattered around. Though the young girl couldn't see, Max's expression brightens as he reaches for the item he was looking for.

"Try this. Back when I was little I used to have a yamper who was always freezing, especially when I moved here in Snowdin. My grandmother had made a a few sweaters for him."

He had evolved ages ago and was actually staying as a companion to keep said grandmother company, but figured it wouldn't hurt to keep a few lying around for situations like this. "Thank you!" Eve leaped out of the bag, tilting her head curiously over the various colors and patterned sweaters.

Making the ginger chuckle. "No prob, pick whichever you fancy." With a wide smile, Eve dives into the little man made pile, eventually pulling out with her teeth a black sweater with white stars scattered about. "This one?" Eagerly the little eevee wiggles her head and front paws through the opening with her trainer's help.

Standing proud and tall on all fours as Frisk claps in appreciation, her partner was not only feeling much better with the extra layer, but also looked absolutely adorable~ "Guess we're all set then? Time to get moving." In unison Max's newest assistants give a salute, ready to get to work.

Author Notes: And we're done. Again guys Sorry for the long wait guys. I already went on a mini rant up on the beginning author notes so i'm not going to continue the spheal~ Be warned though that holidays are coming up.

And holidays means that regular series like this are going to update less for the sake of the holiday one shots that I do every year. Any uploads are going to be ones that were done way in advance so i can focus on said holidays.

Again, repeating myself i know but i will try to keep consistency and update underleague on my downtime. But...i just figured I'd give you all a heads up on what's going on, since it may be awhile before another one of these chapters come out.

That's it for now though, guys thanks so much for reading. If you like the series please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me. I'll see you all next time! Tchao for now.
