Author's note: Hello everyone, I'm back from my long break and I'm back in college. I hope this extra-long chapter will compensate for the long wait. I must advise viewer discretion as this chapter has minor gore and a lot of swearing. If you're not bothered though, I hope you enjoy it.

Ch.3 Hydra: The Lost Tyrant

It's been a full week since I've recruited Galvin into the team and we've been mostly investigating Team Plasma's activities. However, throughout the week, a couple of robberies broke out spontaneously all over Unova. I accompanied Officer Brooks a few days ago on one response trip to a rather large house with a well-groomed front yard. The scene suggests the owner is rich.

Three days ago:

We meet the owner who happens to be a man in his 60s who sent his wife and children to his brother's place for protection. Officer Brooks begins questioning him while Vine, Sparky, and I search for any clues. Unfortunately, the perpetrators left almost no evidence behind. The only hints that a robbery occurred are several electronic locks and safes overridden, the security cameras were deactivated with all footage erased, and various valuables missing.

"Hey Boss, this is quite interesting… I see no bashing or any brute force on the locks and safes," Sparkbomb reports as it analyzes the electronics, "Any ideas?"

"I just checked the security room. There's no recording of the robbery," I chime in, "These guys are better than I thought."

After a minute of thought, Vineguard concludes, "No run-of-the-mill burglar would have access to the means to pick high-end locks such as these and skillfully hack into a home video surveillance, leaving Team Plasma as the best possible perpetrator."

Present-day:

Ever since that day, I kept a close eye and ear on anything about Team Plasma and the stolen valuables, including today's mission which involves spying on a Plasma meeting among its operation leaders, who we know to work under Zinzolin, one of the main leaders of Team Plasma. To maintain secrecy, they stage the meeting in an area around the forests of Unova's Victory Road, but we know for sure it's around Victory Road due to undercover police informants within Team Plasma's ranks. Our job is to locate the meeting and record any valuable intel like any weak points in the plasma frigate or Zinzolin's location.

Today is Friday the thirteenth of October; I have a bad feeling today won't be pretty. Either way, the plan is to have Tanker, Ivy, and Blaze search and record the meeting with the highest-end camera and microphone available on the ground while Chomper, Vine, and Sparky watch for any threats from the sky and help locate the meeting. Meanwhile, I'm on a rock ledge overlooking large portions of Victory Road with Sky and Galvin by my side with a pair of binoculars to spot any suspicious movement and gathering. All three groups also have radios to communicate any findings among ourselves. Behind my group is a large cave, but I doubt anything is in there…

Or that's what I would've thought if I didn't just jump from hearing a loud snarl close by. "Uhh… Guys… What was that…" I ask, spooked out and frantically looking around.

"I- I don't know… I- I'm pretty scared…" Sky replies while shivering in fright.

Suddenly, Galvin perks up and confidently declare, "Don't worry at all! I'll get to the bottom of this scary sound. You both wait here, I'll look around and if that scary monster finds us, I'll be sure to put him into the ground!" Without hesitation, the spider pokemon marches off around the ledge to find the source, leaving Sky and me alone.

"Jamie! I'm not sure this is a good idea!" Sky exclaims worriedly, "What if something happens to Galvin and we won't see him again!"

"I guess you're right…" I ponder, "Why don't you wait here. I'll find him." Sky nods in agreement and I walk away from the ledge in the direction Galvin went. After about half a minute, I heard a sound that made my heart sink in fear: Sky screaming for help. I quickly sprint back to the ledge to find Sky not present.

"SKY! Where are you!" I scream out, hoping for an answer, but heard nothing… The only place left to look is in the cave. With an audible gulp, I reluctantly take a few steps into the cave, looking far ahead only to make out a dark amalgamation staring back with its narrow purple eyes and the same snarl I heard before. Suddenly, the thing lunges at me and I black out…

Meanwhile:

Tanker's POV:

So far, the girls and I are chillin in a forest close to the entrance to Victory Road aaand... I've got nothing. Man, these guys are more hidden than I thought. "Yo dudes! See anything yet?" I casually shout to the others.

"...I'm not a dude dammit…" Ivy grumbles.

"Neither am I, you idiot!" Blaze adds, just as annoyed.

"Oops~ My bad, dudettes…" I chuckle, "Besides, why the long face Ivy?"

"...Once again, Jamie completely forgets about me…" Ivy softly, but spitefully explains, "After a day or two of training me the past week and getting me to lv. 21, he just goes off to who knows where…"

"Aww, come on now… Since when has he forgotten about me or anyone now?" I question, trying to convince Ivy to reconsider.

"Easy for you to say… You're his first pokemon and what am I…? Just another thing to add to his goddamn collection?" Ivy objects before heaving a heavy sigh, "Look, if he doesn't see me for what I'm worth, then I'll be on my merry way!"

"Whoa there Ivy... At least stop for a sec," I quickly reply before turning to Blaze,

"Yo Blaze, Whatcha thinking?"

Oddly enough, Blaze doesn't seem to be herself now. Normally she's brash, outspoken, and willing to give others a piece of her mind. Now she's looking away, barely saying a word.

"Uh, girl? You good?" I try to reach out. After a little under half a minute, Blaze turns around with a dejected look.

She reluctantly says, "...I'm fine…"

"You sure?" I ask, without missing a beat.

"Ugh! If you must insist… At least let me first have a one-on-one with Ivy…" Blaze requests, trying to sound tough, but her face says otherwise.

I nod and the girls move behind a nearby bush. Of course, my curiosity gets the best of me and I decide to slowly move closer to the bush while acting like I'm on the lookout. That's when I heard a rather familiar story.

"Hey Ivy… I get it if you see Jamie as a loser. I once did as well," Blaze says.

Ivy then responds, "If Jamie really is a loser, I wouldn't have chosen him. Sky told me about how Jamie is such a great trainer and yet here I am being ignored. Why waste time with him when I could just train on my own and get stronger on my own?"

So that's what's making Ivy moody lately. But I wonder why she's so determined to train. Of course, I want to train and become an absolute legend. I've worked with Jamie for several years training, making some oopsies, and fixing those oopsies, all with a smile. Ivy, on the other hand, seems too strict, too aggressive, and not enjoying the effort of training to want glory.

Blaze then explains, "One time I too thought Jamie stopped caring about me. We had just fled for our lives out of a cave and I was so angry that we failed that mission that I just took my frustration out on Jamie and left him and the team without even thinking about what I was saying."

"And then what happened," Ivy replies, urging Blaze to continue.

Blaze does so and continues, "And then my life was in danger… Several houndours pin me to the ground, ready to end me once given the order to do so by a group called Team Rocket… However, a miracle happened when Vineguard pulled me away into the safety of none other than Jamie, the same person I berated, yet willing to nurse me back to health. I could never forget that moment in my life, nor expect Jamie to abandon you ever."

I silently nod in agreement, then my walkie-talkie rings, and I pick up.

Meanwhile:

Jamie's POV:

I have no idea how long I was out, all I "see" is a black void. However, I'm experiencing a headache and the farther I look into the void, the more pain I feel on my forehead. I try to reach for my head, but something is pulling back on my arms. Also, it feels like the void is calling out my name, "Jamie… Jaaamie…" I groan from what I guess is a feminine voice, but the worst part is how my head pain grows the louder the voice becomes. Eventually, the voice grew so loud I couldn't think of anything else but that voice droning, "Jaaamie...! Jamie…! Please wake up Jamie!"

I quickly snap my eyes open from the word change. I then rapidly turn my head around, despite the pain, to assess the situation until I leave my head facing the owner of that voice. "Thank goodness you're alright Sky," I sigh in relief.

"ME?! ALRIGHT?! You're the one who's in danger this whole time!" Sky screams into my face in panic. I give her a confused look and she continues in a softer, but more terrified voice, "When that monster grabbed me, it threw and locked me in this room. Then when I moved closer to the door, it opened up and your limp body fell into the room as well. It told me to do everything it said or else you'll immediately lose your head! That monster then tied us up to this rock and now I'm scared that we won't leave this cave alive. Jamie! What should we do!"

I look around once more and I see only one torch mounted to a large rock to my right lighting up the whole room where I also see the thick rope bounding our bodies to a boulder behind us and a doorway with a rocky door in front of us is our only way out. I try to find my survival knife only to realize it's in my backpack placed against the wall to my left. I then examine Sky's tail, which is curled up around the rock and also tied up, so reaching for the knife is out of the question. "Say, Sky? Do you think you can burn the ropes with a fire blast attack?" I suggest.

However, Sky quickly protests, "What! I can't do that! I'll burn you a- and I don't wanna hurt you!" As soon as Sky finishes, a deep, menacing, and downright evil laughter fills the room as the stone door slides open. There I see those same purple eyes staring right into my helpless soul, however, as if those eyes aren't enough to give me a heart attack, I see another pair of eyes staring and then a third set all fixed on its tied up prey. "That's the horrifying monster that tied us up," Sky whispers into my ear, but all my senses are fixed on said horrifying monster. With another snarl, the creature slowly enters the room. As it gets closer, the torch gives me a better view of this monster. I begin to notice the indigo and violet scales along with the black fur. Its six slim wing-like appendages become visible and the light reveals one, then two, then three heads, each just as hungry and determined to tear open flesh as the other. Suddenly, Sky speaks up, "I- It's a h- hydreigon… O- One of the most violent a- and aggressive dragons of all time!"

Once again, the hydreigon laughs maniacally before finally saying a word in a deep, menacing voice, "Why, thank you... I'm flattered, you helpless worm… I wasn't expecting a fire attack, but that doesn't matter... Refusing to hurt your trainer to escape? How fucking cute… Mwahahaha!"

Once again, I'm shocked to hear another talking pokemon, in this case, his voice reveals him as a guy. What's even more shocking was how pleased he is at being called a brute. To the guy that told me long ago that there's no such thing as an evil pokemon: go fuck yourself dammit!

"Please let us go… We promise we'll leave you alone…" Sky pleads, but that only amuses the brutal pokemon even more.

"You bitches really think I'll let you little pussies go? MwahahaHAHAHA! I must admit, you both know how to make me laugh…" As Sky opens her mouth to say something else, Hydreigon clamps her mouth shut with his right head.

"Hey! Let her go, you monster!" I shout in response. The multi-headed dragon glares right at me for a few seconds before obeying surprisingly… And then he slams his right head into my face, almost knocking my glasses off of my face.

"There you go, dipshit… Did just as you asked!" the dark type savagely sneers.

"Stop this, please!" Sky pleads again, "Why are you even doing this?!"

"Why am I doing this to you assholes…?" the psycho dragon asks before laughing once more, "Because it's fucking amusing… The way your pussy asses are scared shitless and begging for your goddamn lives is hilarious. Oh, but don't worry… You're not alone..." Then, the dark dragon moves over to the rock holding the torch and moves it aside, revealing a closet filled with mangled, bloody, corpses of both people and pokemon. "See… These guys had so much fun, they gave themselves up to be my dinner… Mwahahaha…" the now serial killer dragon presents. Oddly enough, I notice Plasma grunts as the majority.

Sky straight up screams in pure horror and I look away in fear and disgust while the murderous dragon stares at our expressions in amusement. "Like what you're seeing? Don't you just want to join them…? Ehehehehe..." he asks, maintaining his sick smile.

"NO!" Sky and I shout in unison and dread.

"Good… 'Cause I'll also enjoy making you two slowly bleed to your imminent deaths as you feel the pain of your flesh and bones ripped into bloody pieces. But why tell you when I can show you assholes!"

Sky and I scream as the hydreigon's three jaws glow a dark aura before lunging for a merciless slaughter.

Meanwhile:

Chomper's POV:

"Hey guys, I'm starting to get worried. I haven't heard anything from Jamie's group" I tell Vineguard and Sparkbomb who are riding on my back, checking for anything out of the ordinary.

"Something does feel odd, not even Tanker's group heard anything from Jamie's group as well," Sparky adds.

"I've radioed Jamie's group several times for the past 30 minutes, but no one's picking up" Vine indicates, "This has gone on long enough. We're going back to the ledge to have a look for ourselves. Chomper, drop us off on the bottom of the ledge and we'll scale the mountains of Victory Road until we reach the ledge and once we're on the ground, watch for enemy ambushes, we might be walking right into a trap."

"Got it Vine, here we go" I reply and we're off back to the ledge. After a few minutes of flying, we approach the ledge only to find something interesting: Galvin is all alone and as far as I can tell with my sharp eyes, there are no enemies nearby. I then ask, "Hey Vine, I only see Galvin and he doesn't appear to be in danger. What should we do?"

Vineguard then declares, "Drop us on the ledge. I'll question Galvin, you and Sparky look around for any traces."

I then drop off Sparky who calls dibs on the cave and Vine approaches Galvin. I make my way around the mountain and sure enough, nothing is waiting to ambush us. However, once I get back, I feel the air getting tense.

"So let me get this straight, you deliberately split yourself from your group for a minor reason and now you have no idea what just happened to Sky and Jamie?" Vine coldly demands.

"Umm… Yes…" Galvin cluelessly answers.

Vine then facepalms before erupting in a rant. "...I have no words for how disappointed I am in you, Galvin…" Vine chastises, "Not only did you cripple your group's fighting strength by your absence, but you also don't even have a damn lead on the threat. Even if the three of you aren't enough to incapacitate the threat, one of you could have alerted us to your scene to fight the threat, but no… You had to excuse yourself from your group and your responsibilities as a team member…"

"Okay maybe I messed up but that doesn't mean you're the boss of me all of a sudden," Galvin counters, getting defensive. I worry that another yelling match is breaking out.

"Don't bother changing the subject Galvin, you know very well that you screwed up big time," Vine snaps back, completely indifferent to Galvin's point of view.

"Seriously man, who gave you the right to act uncool right now," Galvin persists. I know Jamie would have tried to stop this and without him, I must step up and do the same, regardless of what happens.

"Guys, I beg of you all to please stop fighting!" I call out in distress, "Our friends might be in danger and we need to help them!" Fortunately, that stops their argument just in time to hear a loud roar with Sparkbomb rapidly rolling out.

"Wait, guys! That's the roar I heard a while back. I think it's coming from the cave!" Galvin declares.

"And right you are Galvin," Sparkbomb says, "Better get ready for a big fight, something huge is in there."

Meanwhile:

Jamie's POV:

I no longer know how much time has passed. Pain is the only thing that's on my mind along with the screams of agony from Sky and the sick laughter from my tormentor. I don't even have the energy to open my eyes, not that I want to witness the carnage this psychopathic brute is capable of, let alone enjoy our suffering. However, everything suddenly becomes quiet. No screams, no laughter, and no pain… I slowly open my eyes only for a head to smash into my face. "Morning asshole! Normally I ought to force your fucking eyes open to see the terror in them, but your little bitch ass friend here already put on a good enough show to keep me entertained."

I turn to my only friend accompanying me to see her trembling and filled with cuts, bruises, and teardrops. I tried to hold in my tears but failed miserably. "...Stay strong… Sky..." I force out despite the pain and dryness in my mouth.

"Aww… You both fucking love each other! Boo! Hoo!" Hydreigon ruthlessly taunts, "As if I give a fuck about lov- Wait… Even better!" I stare in horror once again as he contorts his mouth into another psychotic grin. Hydreigon suggests, "Since you bitches love each other… I wonder what'll happen if I torture one of you and force the other to watch… Mwahahaha… Ahahahaha! AHAHAHAHA!"

"I don't get it… If you hate our guts that much, why didn't you end us yet…" I force out my burning question.

"Wow… Either you're fucking stupid since your damn birth or I completely fucked your brain cells up…", the evil dragon comments before answering with a wider grin, "Normally I would've slaughter you, shitheads, to death by now but... Watching you scream in agony and begging for your lives is much too pleasurable for me to end the fun so soon… The best part is that I can't wait to hear you bitches scream when the fun really begins, but I need to get some 'toys' ready ehehehe… And don't you do anything stupid while I'm gone or you're both fucked..." Once Hydreigon leaves the room, I hear something that gives me both overwhelming hope and dread. Behind the stone door, Hydreigon yells, "What the fuck?! An electrode?! Time to die, asshole!" I hope you know what you're doing Sparky…

In the meantime, I've got to figure a way out. I didn't even bother to examine my wounds but I could assume it's just as bad as Sky's wounds, but they will become worse when that evil dragon returns. I look around for any solutions and fortunately, my backpack remains untouched and the savage beatings Sky and I received loosened the ropes binding us to the rock. First things first, however, I've got to comfort my friend. Using all my remaining strength, I forcefully rip my arms out of the grasp of my bondage and then pull Sky into a small hug. I gently say, "Sky… Please don't worry anymore… He's gone and I'm still here for you…"

"Oh, Jamie... " Sky whimpers, "What's he going to do to our friends…"

"I don't know…" I reply worried and out of breath, "But I know they'll be there for us, so we too need to be there for them…"

"But how…" Sky replies frightfully, "We won't last another round of torture and if we leave, he'll kill us…"

"As long as you believe in yourself and fight till the very end, we'll have the best chance to leave this place alive," I cheer Sky on, but know very well it's easier said than done.

"I hope so…" Sky reluctantly replies, "So what's your plan…"

I glance at the door to check if Hydreigon is returning before announcing, "If you can wiggle your tail out of the ropes, you could grab my backpack over and I'll get out my survival knife and cut us free."

Finally, after an unknown time under torture, Sky smiles and says, "Here, let me try…" After a minute of wrestling her tail orbs out of the binds, Sky's tail is free and successfully brings my bag closer and without wasting a second, I grab my knife and cut the ropes, freeing Sky and me from our rope bondage.

I quickly move towards the stone door and try as I might, the door won't budge. "Sky, the door won't open. Any ideas?" I indicate.

"That's actually another boulder acting as a door. I saw him push the boulder open like a door," Sky corrects.

"Think you could smash it open?" I propose.

"Yes, but I'm more worried if we get caught trying to escape." Sky worriedly replies, "Who knows what horrible things he will do to us if we even try…"

"Before I wasn't there for you and I'm deeply sorry for that," I apologize, hoping to calm Sky down, "Things are different now that I'm here and this time, I promise I won't leave you all alone till the very end."

After a few seconds to think, Sky finally says, "Okay… I trust you…" and nods in agreement. She winds up her glowing ocean blue tail before swinging forward, smashing the boulder with a powerful physical water attack.

"Surprise motherfuckers!" a familiar deep and psychotic voice rings out. I look past the dust drifting around the door frame only to my horror, see our torturer casually waiting on the other side for us to escape with that same evil grin plastered on his face.

"JAMIE! What now?!" Sky screams in horror.

"I knew you bitches were too stupid to sit your asses down for me to return so what better timing to start the next torture session right now…" Hydreigon savagely taunts, "...But the best part is how you gave your precious serpent all the 'hope of freedom' and 'promise to be together' bullshit. Now is where I take all that shit and shove it down your throats while I crush your windpipes!"

I now know there's no way to sneak out so I had no choice but to fall back to the least favorable option. I take a deep breath and shout, "Sky! Don't be afraid one bit! Think about fighting your way out of this nightmare, think about all our friends that's worried about us, and think about how much stronger than you think you are to come this far!"

"Jamie…" Sky softly whispers with tears flowing from her eyes.

"Now… Use outrage!" I fearlessly command.

Sky closes her eyes and her watery tears are replaced with a fiery glow. A desire for destruction fills Sky's mind as her red hot draconic glow covers her entire body. The evil dragon, on the other hand, seems interested and focuses its draconic energy on his two side heads in a purple glow. "Now you pussies decide to put up a fight huh…? Interesting..." Hydreigon comments while intrigued.

"Your torture and torment are over you… you… FIEND!" Sky shouts back as she tenses up before charging forward. The dark dragon immediately blasts Sky with two draconic energy beams. To my amazement, Sky fights through the special attack and lands several physical attacks of her own, however, Sky is more damaged.

"Keep up the attack Sky!" I shout. She nods and charges once again. Hydreigon however, chooses to play defensively and counterattack her physical attacks with crunch attacks, blocking half of Sky's hits. However, he's slowly glowing a faint red and as the glow becomes brighter, the blocks become more successful and even pushes Sky back further.

Sky starts to get fatigued as the confusion effect is taking place and Hydreigon's draconic energy is radiating brighter from his two side heads. "Pathetic… Is that all the fight you got…" the evil dragon glowers, "Here's a true dragon attack." At that moment, all three heads are fully charged with draconic energy and fire three enlarged purple energy beams. What remains is a heavily wounded dragonair fighting to stay awake. Hydreigon cackles at his defeated victim once more before turning to me with murderous intent. "Where's your precious dragon now… Where's your chance to escape now…" the brutal pokemon snarls psychotically, "Mwahahaha… WHERE'S YOUR WILL TO FIGHT NOW?! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! All of them are fucking gone! Ahahahahaha!"

The most painful thing I could imagine isn't just seeing Sky fall to this evil creature before me, nor is the torture coming up from a pissed-off psycho, but realizing that said psycho is speaking the truth. "No…" I whisper in denial, not knowing what to do in such a predicament.

"Oh Yes... I can't wait to see what painful ways I can do to make you scream and taste your salty, fucking tears..." Hydreigon murderously whispers while pressing his twisted face into my horrified face. "Even better… your precious, powerless dragon can watch as I gut you like a tepig and you squeal in agony…"

"No… Please…" Sky whimpers, which shocks me with hope, knowing she's still awake.

"Shut your trap, bitch…" Hydreigon snaps, "If only you idiots knew what I said earlier."

"We're screwed if we try to escape?" I guess, dreading his response.

"No, you dumbfuck!" Hydreigon snaps again, "I saw how you fuckers love each other. It fucking makes me sick to see you two making out! But that doesn't matter… I can't wait to see how painful it is to see someone's loved one approaching death and the other having to watch in horror… Now then, who should I slaughter first… Who will cry the hardest… Who would wish to die instead..."

I guess it all comes down to whoever Hydreigon kills first, the survivor will mentally suffer for who knows how long until he finishes the job. Maybe I could take advantage of his plan, at a severe cost, unfortunately… "Sky! I know this sounds crazy, but I need you to leave immediately!" I command with dread filling my mind.

"NO! I can't leave you, Jamie! You promise you won't leave me!" Sky shouts back, which I nodded regretfully.

"I'm sorry Sky… I failed to protect you… Consider this my last attempt…" I somberly reply.

"After what we've been through, this can't be how you end…" Sky pleads, but I'm dead set on my decision, literally.

Again, I insist, "Please do this for me and every citizen of Unova… Find the others, track down Zinzolin, and dismantle Team Plas-"

"WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE! HOLD THE GODDAMN PHONE!" Hydreigon shouts in complete surprise, "Zinzolin? You bitches were hunting down Team Plasma too?"

"Too?" I ask in confusion.

"...I want those assholes alive so I can kill each member one by one... Get the picture?" Hydreigon shortly and softly explains more sincerely than psychotically, "Now be a good little fucker and tell me everything you know about Team Plasma… OR I'LL KILL YOU JUST FOR FUN AND FORCE YOUR FUCKING DRAGON TO WATCH!"

"Alright, alright… Jesus…" I try to calm him down with my hands up, "Look, we're still looking for a trail to follow, but it's only a matter of time until some of my team finds a lead somewhere in Victory Road."

"How the fuck is that supposed to help me?!" Hydreigon fires back.

"Umm, would you like to join us…?" Sky uneasily offers, "You could… Well... Help fight Team Plasma... Which you… Umm…"

Hydreigon interrupts her with a stern expression before apathetically retorts, "I don't fight with pussies… You want me to join… you'll have to prove yourselves."

Just as I think about what Hydreigon said, someone familiar rolls into the room. "Holy nuts Boss, what on earth happened to you!" Sparkbomb exclaims as it rolls in, "And who's that friend you just made?"

"So you're the asshole who snuck into my lair before and distracted me from torturing your pussy ass friends, you beach balled freak," Hydreigon angrily accuses.

"Happy to be a nuisance to those who hurt my friends, wait till everyone else gets a kick out of this," Sparky replies, all flattered, without dropping a smile.

"Not if you are a dead motherfucker," Hydreigon threatens.

"Then try to catch me, sucka," Sparky taunts as he rushes out of the cave at lightning speed with Hydreigon pursuing. Sky and I try to stop the multi-headed dragon, but he won't stop and at the end of the cave, he falls flat on his back from a barrage of various attacks from all of my team members waiting at the entrance to ambush him.

"Alright, you assholes! Prepare yourselves for a beating like none other!" Hydreigon roars as he gets back up and charges another dragon pulse attack before Sky and I break up the conflict.

"Team, hold your attacks. Let's settle things diplomatically," I announce.

"Please Hydreigon… they didn't mean to hurt you…" Sky pleads.

Blaze first speaks up, "What the actual hell are you doing? I've heard everything from Sparky about you getting your ass beaten by that freak and now you want to save him?"

"What the fuck is wrong with you, don't you do anything other than beg like a fucking bitch?" Hydreigon sighs while maintaining focus on the others.

"Guys, please hear Jamie and me out," Sky also announces, "Hydreigon also wants to fight Team Plasma, just like us. Can't we just put our differences aside and work together?"

"I never said I was joining…" Hydreigon grumbles.

"I dunno man... I'd love to have another bro fightin' side n' side with me, but this dude has a few screws loose." Tanker replies.

"Make that a lot of screws loose," Blaze sasses.

"I'm also afraid that he could kill us in our sleep," Chomper says with a worried look.

"Jesus fucking christ! Do I have to spell out that: I'm. Not. Interested. In. Killing you!" Hydreigon yells in frustration, "Look, how about this: I'll spar with your two friends here and I'll show you sons of bitches that I'm not a goddamn brute… And maybe I'll consider joining you if you're decent fighters..."

Vineguard takes a moment to think and then informs, "Contrary to what I heard about you, the terms of your negotiation are fair, but we must return to Castelia City to complete our mission and rest up. Then, we will return and complete your deal."

The next day:

Despite Sky and I nearly losing our lives yesterday, I was relieved to know that Tanker, Blaze, and Ivy located the Plasma meeting and recorded it without being detected. The mission was a success and the best investigators in Unova will do everything they can do to locate our next place to infiltrate. Today, after having a long talk with Galvin about sticking together during lunch, Sky and I are back on Victory Road to accept a challenge by the same pokemon who nearly killed us. "Well, well, well… Look who the fuck comes crawling back for another bloody beatdown," Hydreigon casually taunts, a complete 180 from his psychotic side.

Everyone else is watching from the side, each with various expressions ranging from excitement, to dread, and spite. "Be careful out there…" Chomper cautions.

"He barks more than he bites!" Blaze sasses.

"Show that dark, edgy dude what you're made of!" Tanker cheers.

"Thanks, guys!" Sky shouts over before turning to the once brutal pokemon, "Hydreigon! I know what you've done to my trainer and me… It was one of the scariest and most painful things I've ever felt... But still… You don't seem like a bad guy to me!"

"You've got to be fucking with me…" the multi-headed dragon scoffs, "Just how naive can you possibly be!?"

Knowing of Hydreigon's ranged attacks, I have Sky start the battle with a fire blast. Without missing a beat, Hydreigon counters with a single dragon pulse from his left head while he spreads his six wings and slowly flies up, suggesting a lack of agility. "Alright Sky, time to take to the skies," I call out to the blue serpent. Immediately, she extends her head wings and levitates off the ground. I then command, "Go for a thunderbolt!" and Sky charges up electricity in her light blue pearls before zapping it in Hydreigon's direction.

He proves resilience by blasting the lightning bolt with two draconic energy beams from his side mouths. "You call this shit a battle…? I call this child's play, bitch!" Hydreigon snarls. Then, I notice a faint red aura surrounding the dark type.

"Sky! Get ready!" I worriedly shout. If I remember correctly, Hydreigon's attacks become stronger when that red aura appears. Just as I expected, the dark dragon charges up another dragon pulse faster, and blasts a bigger beam at Sky. Fortunately, she dodges the attack, but for how long…

"Try dodging this bitch!" Hydreigon snarls again as he blasts two powered-up draconic energy beams instead of one. Once again, Sky dodges them and tries to counter-attack with a thunderbolt. However, the dragon pulses were more than enough to vaporize the electrical bolts. "If your pathetic attacks ain't doing shit… Then allow me the pleasure of putting you down with a brutal beatdown!" Hydreigon roars as he once again charges his dragon pulses from all three heads and fires an endless barrage of energy beams. Sky fearfully dives into the forest trees for cover, but nothing survives getting blasted repeatedly by the brutal pokemon.

After a good minute of Sky flying for her life, I realize a strategy that might work. Once Hydreigon stops firing out of fatigue, I shout my suggestion, "Sky! Over here! Quickly!" Sky flies over to me where I quickly put on Sky's walkie-talkie belt with her radio on hand and tell her, "Time for some fancy flying Sky."

"Oooh… I like your idea!" Sky enthusiastically agrees before taking off to combat the dark type once again.

"Back for more?! For a second there, I thought you're gonna fucking ditch like a bitch!" Hydreigon hollers while charging another barrage.

Immediately, I command Sky on my radio, "Once Hydreigon starts firing, fly some circles around him. He doesn't look so agile."

"Got it," Sky replies. When the multi-headed dragon begins firing from all three heads, Sky starts to fly around him in a ring. Hydreigon starts to have some trouble aiming for Sky, which prompts me to keep up with the strategy.

"Now add some jumps and dives!" I suggest. Sky nods and includes a wave motion in addition to the already disorienting circular motion. It's clear now how confused the dark dragon is by how he rapidly rolls his three heads around attempting to blast Sky, but no shot was close to hitting her.

"GRRR! Stay. Fucking. Still," Hydreigon yells as he lunges into the circular path and crunches on Sky's midsection before diving and pinning her into the ground. "Speed isn't a useful weapon, you fucking pussy…" Hydreigon growls in frustration, "It's only good... For running away!"

He then powers up its teeth for a flurry of crunches, then I quickly command, "Blind him with a fire blast to the central face!" Sky did just that, blasting a wall of fire into the dark type. He screams in confusion, agony, and rage as I direct Sky into the finishing move, "Give everything you've got now… And use outrage!" She bursts into a fiery red aura and rapidly bashes the blinded dragon over and over without any opposition. Once Hydreigon regains his sight for a bit, he shoves Sky off him and I prepare for the capture. "Go, ultra ball!" I shout as I hurl the black and yellow ball into the crippled dragon.

Everyone anxiously listens with their breaths held to the only sound left is the rattling of the pokeball. "Did we do it Jamie…?" Sky asks worriedly.

"I hope so…" I answer, just as worried.

One shake…

Two shakes…

Three shakes…

Boom! The ball explodes and the dark dragon escapes from the ball!

"You fucking wish!" Hydreigon sneers, "That ball may have removed my attack buffs, but it'll take more than a few cheap shots to defeat me!"

As Hydreigon approaches the trembling Sky with glowing teeth ready to crunch, I command Sky, "Knock those teeth out with aqua tail!" The dark type lunges its side heads forward, attempting to bite Sky when she powers up her tail with water and knocks the heads away. "Go for the main head!" I direct, but Hydreigon anticipates a similar attack since it fires a dragon pulse from the central head, knocking Sky back several meters away. "Heads up Sky, another dragon pulse is coming your way! Counter with thunderbolt!" I command. Both dragons' special attacks clash in the middle as a purple draconic beam and a yellow electrical bolt attempt to outdo the other. As the purple beam slowly overwhelms the yellow lightning, I encourage, "Stay strong Sky! That monster can't fight for forever!".

Suddenly, I hear several of my team members cheering on Sky. It seems that the draconic beam is slowing down, so I decide to join in on cheering. The cheering proves to be effective as Sky starts unleashing more electricity, which slows the approaching dragon pulse to a stop. After another minute, the two dragons' attacks simultaneously diminish slowly, and both fall face-first into the ground in exhaustion. Once again, I throw another ultra ball to the collapsed dark dragon and await the result…

One shake…

Two shakes…

Three shakes…

Click... The ball settles and we've won this battle of attrition! Everyone rejoices from the successful capture and I run up to Sky and hug her tightly for, arguably, her most daring achievement. Only after looking at her face did I realize that Sky is at the edge of fainting. I quickly return everyone into their pokeballs except for Chomper and rush off to the pokemon center in Castelia City.

Seven hours later:

After a long healing process and a longer time clarifying yesterday's deadly disaster, I brought takeout dinner to the room I'm renting in the pokemon center for everyone on the team, who defies my expectations and squeezes themselves into the room. Sparkbomb got batteries, Tanker and Sky got fish fillet, Vineguard, Blaze, Ivy, and Galvin got fruit salad, and lastly, Chomper, I, and Hydreigon got Castelia Steak. The three of us were certainly enjoying ourselves in the soft and juicy meat with a pinch of fat and salt for flavor while the rest occasionally looked up, appalled. After dinner, Hydreigon proudly speaks up, "Alright now… I'll give credit to your kind for mercilessly gutting innocent pokemon and turning them into some good fucking food… But now is where we get down to business." I flinch from the way he worded our meat processing system, but I nod and he carries on, "Are you gonna give me a name or what?! You and your serpent proved yourselves semi-worthy of having a force of nature on your team, so give me a good and badass name." Before I open my mouth, he warns, "Oh… And anything stupid or dumb will cost you dearly… Got that?!"

"Umm, how about 'Hydra'?" I suggest, "Legends speak of an ancient region called 'Lerna' where a deadly monster lives…" Hydreigon seems intrigued, so I continue, "The monster has multiple heads and if you cut one head off, another will take its place. Not to mention that its blood is corrosive, so the act of slaying the beast will cost the attacker dearly… That monster… is called the Lernean Hydra, and I think the name of such a nearly unstoppable monster suits you best."

The multi-headed dragon narrows its eyes at me and I begin to tense up, hoping that name was enough to satisfy him. Fortunately, a small smile begins to form on his face. "Hmm… Perhaps you know me better than I thought…" the newly named Hydra suggests, "You keep this up and maybe we can be pals…"

As everyone settles in for the night, I thought to myself about Team Plasma's increased activity over the past week and I possibly have a new member to counter them. I check the Pokedex and learn that Hydra's moveset is dragon pulse, crunch, work up, and body slam. Also, his nature is "brave". I quietly mumble, " Maybe Hydra isn't really a 'bad' guy, just a tyrant who's lost in rage over Team Plasma for whatever reason."

"Maybe, but we'll get to the bottom of him," a voice replies. I quickly turn my head to the owner to see Tanker flashing a thumbs up. "We're in this fight, and we won't back down," Tanker reassures.

I nod, lie down in my bed and say, "Keep up the fight, Brother."

"Will do," Tanker replies before we both catch some Zs.
