Teddy came out of the floo, almost stumbling on the floor when someone caught him.
'Vic!' he grinned, standing up.
'You are going to Hogwarts,' she said. 'Yet, you can't floo properly.'
He stroked his hair with an impish grin, 'Come on, it's not like they take exams- Ted, you get ten points if you floo.'
'You do realize that you don't pass a test with house points, don't you?' Harry was out of the floo, brushing soot off Teddy's clothes before he did so for his own shirt. He held Al's hand. 'And I asked you to wait for me, you can't floo alone.'
'I am eleven now.'
'Always a kid, Teddy,' he ruffled his hair before he went to the kitchen to meet Grandma Molly and Grandpa Arthur.
'Rose?' Al asked, his accent not clear yet.
'Not here, yet, Al,' Vic stroked his hair. 'We are the only ones on time.'
James was coming out of the floo with Granny Andromeda who held his hand tightly. Ginny came just behind him with Lily in her arms.
Everyone was there within half an hour, and all of them sat in the living room, the adults pouring themselves alcohol while the kids were left with soft drinks.
'You know, uncle Ron,' Teddy said to him as he poured Aunt Mione some more ale, 'I won't mind a pint or two.'
'Oh,' he chuckled and pulled his cheek. 'Even I would not give an eleven-year-old alcohol, Ted. Harry would throw me in Azkaban if I do.'
'If only the fear of Azkaban is stopping you, Ronald,' Aunt Mione said, sipping the drink, 'I think there is a serious problem.'
'Relax, Mione,' he settled beside her, taking Hugo from her.
'Don't call me that,' she snapped.
Teddy stood up, dragging Vic with him to Ginny's old room.
'They are boring,' he said to her. 'We should have more music.'
'You wanted firewhiskey,' she said, flipping her hair as she sat on the bed. 'You didn't expect to get some, did you?'
Dom and Lou came into the room, Molly behind with a book in her hand, She shut the door behind her.
'I want food,' Dom said, rubbing her stomach. 'But they are only busy with crisps.'
'Let's go outside,' she perked up. 'Ride on a broom.'
'I think I am fine here,' Lou dropped down on the bed, rolling behind Vic.
Molly sat on the floor, besides Teddy and began reading her book
'Well, No one is going to let us out, anyway,' Vic said, dejectedly slumping against Lou.
'Molly, would you keep that book down for a minute?' Teddy snatched the book from her hands.
'Teddy, I swear to Dumbledore,' she cursed. 'If anything happens to my book.'
'Just help us out here,' Vic said.
'How can I help out?' she asked. 'I am hardly interested in what you both are planning.'
'Four!' Dom held up four fingers, 'Four of us are planning.'
Teddy kept the book out of her reach.
'Alright!' she huffed, 'Just..Just,ask Aunt Ginny, she will help you out.'
Teddy stood up, dropping Molly's book to the floor.
'Teddy, you prat!'
He ignored her, hopping in his steps as he turned to the door
'I don't think she will,' Lou said, his voice muffled.
'Anything is possible if you have got enough nerve,' Teddy replied and dashed down the staircase, halting just before the living room. He took small steps and stood before a wall, edging his head out of the corner.
'Ginny,' he said trying to sound innocent but still grinning from ear to ear. 'Can you come here for a moment?'
'What did you do, Teddy?' Granny asked from her seat.
He shook his head fiercely, trying to control his hair from changing colour, 'Nothing. I just need to talk to Ginny.'
'Come on,' Ginny stood up from her seat beside Granny Weasley and took him out of the living room.
'Now, what mischief do you need me to be a part of?' she asked, smiling and bending to his height.
'Mischief?' he asked, his hair turning turquoise. 'Why would you think I would do something like that.'
She poked his nose, 'Teddy, I am the mistress of the game you have just started to play.'
He stuck out his tongue at her, 'We want to go outside and ride brooms. Can you help us?'
She shook his head, 'It's getting dark and Dom and Lou are too small to be left playing unguided.'
'Lou won't play, you know he doesn't like it and Dom- Have you seen her with a broom? She is a prodigy.'
'Still...' she hesitated.
'Please,' he pleaded, joining his hand and bending so slightly, 'You used to break into the shed and go out flying, and you became a quidditch player. What if one of us also has it in us- and you stopping us-'
'Alright, alright,' she stood up abruptly, nodding her head in frustration. 'Don't try to manipulate me, Teddy Remus Lupin but alright, I will do it. Now go and bring your gang.'
Teddy dashed back with the same speed he had rushed down and brought the four of them down.
'I don't know why we have to do this,' Lou said. 'I was fine.'
'Stop whining, Lou,' Dom smacked his head.
'Now, I am going inside,' Ginny said to them. 'Go outside as soon as you see the opportunity.'
Teddy nodded earnestly and grinned at Vic.
She went inside.
'What was that about?' he heard Harry's voice
'Nothing,' Ginny sounded nonchalant. 'They just wanted a game from the top of the cupboard from my room.'
'Game in your room?' Uncle Ron's voice came, 'I thought you only had storybooks about Harry defeating all sorts of evil monsters.'
'Shut up, Ron,' she snapped. 'Anyway, have you seen the tattoo I got on James's back?'
'Tattoo?' Harry's voice sounded like a shriek.
'What have you done with the poor baby?' Grandma Weasley cried, horror laced in her voice.
'James, come here,' Harry called him.
Teddy peeked inside, everyone looked busy ogling James who was busy running around with Fred. Harry frantically picked James up from the floor and began to take off his shirt.
'Come on,' he motioned to the others. He moved swiftly, yet soundlessly to the living room before he made a run for the door. He waited until Molly, the last of them was out.
A cackle of laughter came from inside, 'Of course, it was a joke. you did not think I would get a tattoo on my five-year-old child, did you?'
'That is not funny,' Harry replied.
'He is right, young lady,' Teddy flinched at Grandma Weasley's voice.
'Aunt Ginny is amazing.' Vic screamed, smiling with a light in her eyes as she made a run for the broom shed.
'You cannot beat me,' Teddy ran behind her.
'Wait for us,' Dom said, dragging Lou with her,
Teddy got to the shed before her, opening the door and going inside. He picked up a broom and passed it to Vic who passed it to Dom. Then, he picked two brooms for her and him.
'Lou?' he asked him, 'Are you sure you don't want to play?'
He nodded wordlessly, looking pale.
'Don't be such a coward,' Dom said to him. 'It's just a bit flying in the air.'
'Dom,' Vic said. 'Don't push him if he doesn't want to.'
'Come on, he will watch us.'
'Don't even ask me,' Molly said and took Lou to the corner with her.
Teddy did not wait for others as he sat on his broom and launched into the air. The others came just behind him.
'Race me,' Dom said before she rode forward. Normally, they would race to the lake near the Burrow and back. Vic went ahead of him and Teddy followed a split second later. He flew past Dom easily, winking at her as he did so. It was Vic he had a hard time catching up to.
'Come on, Teddy,' she teased, going behind a tree, 'How do you expect to make it into the team if you can't even outfly me- a nine-year-old.'
'Wait a second- you'
He was almost going to crash into a tree's trunk, and he ducked just in time.
'Are you alright?' Vic jerked her broom to stop.
'Of course,' Teddy flicked her and jerked past her, to the river with Dom close behind. Vic was the farthest, scowling as she rode the broom. Teddy stepped off his broom near Molly and Lou.
'I won!' he raised his broom.
'By cheating,' Vic said.
'Cheating? You stopped on your own, I just took some advantage.'
'Uh-uh,' she dropped her broom to the floor, 'That is what we call cheating.'
'He won fair, Vicky,' Lou said to her.
She huffed and smacked him and marched to the house, 'Let's go, dinner must be ready.'
They ate in the garden outside. The family was too large to fit inside. Ginny fed Albus as he sat quietly next to her, contrary to James who was running around the table while Harry and Angelina attempted to feed them.
'Teddy, some mashed potatoes please?' Vic asked him, motioning to the bowl in front of him. He served her some before taking out some lamb for himself.
'It's so delicious, Grandma,' Vic said as she shoved some of it in her mouth.
'Thank you, dear.'
'Vic,' Teddy said to her. 'Please close your mouth, it's disgusting.'
'Shut up.'
'Can we have the trifle now, Grandma?' Teddy asked her.
'Just after this, Teddy dear.'
Granny shot him a dirty look from across the table, where she chatted with Grandpa Weasley.
Teddy sat in the living room as everyone gave him gifts. Uncle George and Uncle Ron had given him a Weasley Wizard Wheezes hamper. Granny had voiced her concern over it.
'Hogwarts wouldn't be fun without it, Dromeda,' Harry had waved her off.
Teddy stood next to the floo with jumpers, books from Aunt Mione, and much more as they were getting ready to leave.
'Thank you for the dinner,' he said to Grandma.
'Oh,' she caught him in a bone-crushing hug and kissed his face. 'First in our family to go to Hogwarts.'
Aunt Mione brushed his hair, 'We will see you tomorrow,' she said before he flooed out with Ginny and Lily.
