DAVID POV
"Okay everyone listen up. We are going to hold this area until they give up trying to take it." I tell the small group of JTF who are with me. "I already put the call into commanded saying that we need some support, but we should not need it. Who call tell me why we don't need it?"
"Because we are the best there is" the JTF yell back.
"That's right we are, and we will hold here for as long as it is needed." I answer back with a grin on my face. "Now everyone get ready here they come." I place my vector on my shoulder and prepare for the fight that's coming. 'May the gods have mercy on their souls because I don't' I think as a small prays as I pull the trigger killing the first Riker.
"Command to Staff Sergeant Archer" I hear over the radio.
"What command, I'm a little busy right now." I snap back as I pull one of the JTF down behind cover.
"Staff Sergeant, Commander Faye wishes to speak to you." I hear as the voices change.
"Staff Sergeant its Commander Faye." I barely hear over the gun fire.
"Repeat that Command. Johnson give them cover fire as they move to check Mike". I yell over the fire fight.
"It's Commander Faye Staff Sergeant." I hear this time as the gunshots have died down.
"What do you want Commander I'm a little busy." I snap at her with as much venom in my voice as I can.
"Staff Sergeant it looks like the Rikers are giving up" I hear from behind me.
I go to reply but wait until Faye tries to talk so I can cut her off on the radio. I hold the button down so everyone can hear. "Good job everyone we showed them we are not a bunch of push overs. Command this is Staff Sergeant Archer we are in control of the radio tower. I have four wounded and one KIA."
"Staff Sergeant I was talking to you" Faye snaps at me over the radio. "We needed to take one of the Rikers alive so we can find out who is controlling them."
I laugh as I respond to her. "Sure, thing let me go ask them nicely to give up. Oh, wait I can't because we had to fight them for this god damn radio tower that you fucking wanted not us. So, we came out here to do your damn job. Next time commander ask us before bullet start flying." I turn the radio off before she can answer back. I stand up so the remaining troops can see me before I go to talk. "Again, everyone good job on holding the area drinks are on me when we get back."
Everyone yells and begin to pack up to leave as a lone person comes up to me. "Staff Sergeant, Commander Faye is trying reach you on the radio."
I shake my head and let out a little laugh. "I know she is but I'm not going to answer unless Commander James tells me to. But knowing her she did not even tell him that she was in contact with me which is going to piss him the fuck off. Because she has already tried that shit once."
The young JTF shakes his head and reaches for his handgun. "I'm sorry Staff Sergeant but I going to have to take you in." he pulls his gun and points it at my head.
I can see that he is shaking a little bit but is staying true to what he was told to do. "Son I would really think about what you are doing right now." I pause and see everyone else getting ready to shoot him. "STAND DOWN EVERYONE THIS IS NOT THE TIME. Sergeant, I want you to lead everyone back to base." I look back at the young kid. "I will let you think about this as we walk back to base. I can tell you this I hope that she promised you the world kid because the last person to stab me in the back is barely alive right now." I hold out my hand and let him cuff so that he can lead me away.
As we walk, I can tell the kid is in deep thought, so I keep quiet and let him think about what he is doing. 'Faye are you really that desperate for information, that you would turn someone against me.'
As I enter the base of operations, I can see all the JTF glaring at the young kid who has his gun pointed at me. I just shake my head no and walk to the holding cell to wait for Faye or Commander James to see who finds out first. After about five minutes I see Agent Star walking towards me with a sad look in her eyes.
"Staff Sergeant Archer I'm here to move you to a different location" She begin. I nod my head as I stand to follow her to the next area. I again see all the JTF glaring at her, so I shake my head again because I don't want them to blame the wrong person or start a fight with no reasoning. I notice that the young kid begins to follow as well with his gun out as if to shoot me if I run. I pay it little mind as I follow Star.
LIZ POV
'Why did Faye ask me to do this? She knows David can take any of us if her wants to.' I begin as I walk in front of David leading him to Faye. 'Faye knows that Commander James is not going to be happy with this.'
I turn my head slightly to take a look at David. I can tell he has changed a lot from when I was working with him. His action are smoother and not like everyone want to kill him. He does not snap or the venom in his voice is gone unless you piss him off. The armor he once had has been taken off. I sigh as I turn back around thinking or the rumors, I have heard about him. People have been saying that he has made his way around all the ladies in the JTF.
'Which hurts a lot for some reason.' I think as the rumor goes around in my mind. A couple other have been that he still goes in the dark zone even when his commander tells him not to. Or the fact that he is really still rogue and will snap at any time.
"Tell me kid what she promised you if you helped her" I hear David ask.
"Commander Faye told me she would make me a division agent and be partnered with Agent Star." The young kid snaps back with a little venom in his voice.
"Oh, that's it" David responds. "Kid you should have asked for a lot more then that because once she is done with me, I am coming for you and there is nowhere for you to hide. Because I will find you and make you pay."
'Oh, shit Viper is back Faye does not know what she is in for.' I think as I open the door to the room Faye is in. I lead David the chair in the middle of the room and point for him to sit down. Once he sits, I help tie his arms and leg onto the chair so he can't move. The kid takes a shot at him as he swings as hard as he can into David's stomach.
"Hahahaha that's all you got kid." David laughs I can tell by the way he is talking that David is no longer here instead it is Agent Viper. "You better try better next time or there will not be one another for you I can promise you that."
The kid goes the strike him again but Faye walks in. "Stand down Miller, I will take it from here".
"Oh, looks it's the god commander, I see that you have gotten to the point to turning people against one other." David snap at her when he hears her voice. "I mean I sure if you would have played nice this would have not happened."
"Hit him Miller" Faye orders. Miller move to punch him again causing David to laugh. Which causes Miller to hit him again but this time in the mouth.
David laugh as he spit out a tooth. "Is that all you got kid, I know babies who hit harder than you."
"David, you're going to tell me what I want to know. So, we can be somewhat civil about this." Faye begins but I can see it in his eyes that he does not care. "And after all this you're going to rejoin the division program and listen to everything I tell you."
"And if I don't" David asks.
"Then I let Miller have his way with you" Faye responds.
"Might as will let him do that because I'm not giving you shit." David answers with a laugh that sound a bit like the Joker off Batman. "And I'm sure the fuck not joining you again".
"We will see" Faye smirks as she turns to Miller. "Have fun but know I want to be able to talk to him still once you're done." Faye turns to leave as I follow closely behind. Hoping that I can talk some sense into her hard head. After everything she is still trying to get David to join us.
"Faye are you sure it's a good idea for us to do this." I begin "I mean we have both tried to get him to rejoin us, but he turned us down. On top of that I don't think we are dealing with Staff Sergeant David anymore. His action are more and more like Viper, and you know that."
"Drop it Liz, this is the right thing to do we need him back along with the information he has." Faye started with a small grim. "I don't see any other way of doing it other than breaking him down and rebuilding him. Your wrong with that being Agent Viper, that is still David he just putting on a show." She turns to watch as Miller continues to hit David.
I want to move to help but I can't my body will not move I want to yell and scream but my voice is gone. I force myself to watch as Miller hit David over and over. It feels like he is hitting me, but I don't understand why. I glace a David's face and see that he is grinning, I can see the fire in his eyes as if he is planning something.
"Faye, we need to go back in there and stop this. Something is going to happen I can see it." I tell Faye as I find my voice.
"Nothing is going to happen Liz; David is tied down to the chair. I watched" Faye begin before she is cut off by David reaching out and grabbing Millers hand mid swing.
"I told you that you hit like a little kid." David tells the kid as he pushes him away. Faye and I watch as David rotates his wrist on a circle as if to pop it back into place. "That feels better" he says out loud as he reaches over and release his other hand form being tied down.
"Now that my hands are free why don't I show how to really throw a punch." Viper tells Miller as he moves the chair to block the door so Faye and I can't get in.
"Shit Faye, we need to get in there now." I move to the door to try and force my way in. I throw my body behind it, but the door does not move. I turn to see what Faye is doing and see she is standing there with her mouth open.
"FAYE, I NEED YOUR HELP" I yell trying to get her to come over and help. It does not work so I walk over to shake her. I stand in front of her and shake her but nothing happens, so I turn around to see what she is looking at. What I see does not surprises me as much as I thought. David is stand over Miller with a grin on his face that would scare anyone.
"I told you kid you should have asked for more" David tell him as he kneels down to him and grabs his neck. "I also told you that I would pay you back for backstabbing me". In one movement he snaps Miller's neck. As he stands back up, he look right into the window.
"Faye this is your fault that he die you promised him nothing for a grudge you have against me. Does it make you feel better knowing that his blood is on your hands?" David tells us as he moves to the door and removes the chair so the door can be opened.
"Faye, we need to move" I hiss as David moves closer. I try to move Faye, but she is shocked at what David did. I turn so that I can try and stop David for Faye to come to her senses. As I move to stop him the door is thrown open.
"WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE" I hear. "STAFF SERGEANT STAND DOWN." I turn to the voice to try and tell them that it will not work but I see Commander James standing there. So, I turn but to David to see if it worked and much to my surprise it did. David is standing still next to me and glaring at Faye. "Guard place both commander Faye and Staff Sergeant David under arrest."
I watch as Faye whole body becomes tense as the guards grab her and place cuffs on her. The look on her face is shocked as she gets pulled away. I sense David moving behind me as the guard get closer. I feels like he is going to fight the guards, so I turn around to help the guards get a hold of him, but I see his arms above his head instead of fighting. I can't believe that this is happening again.
"Commander James, I take full responsibility over what happened and will take any punishment you wish to give." David tell them as the cuffs are placed on him.
I watch as they lead David to the door surprised at what I heard. He is willing to take the punishment for something that he did not have any power over. He is willing to die for something that he should not die for. I turn to the commander to try and tell him what happened.
"Sir he has nothing to do with this it was all" I start.
"I know who is at fault here agent" he cuts me off. "But there is a dead body that has his name on it, so he is at fault." The commander sighs deeply before going on. "Look Liz if one of you would have asked me for help, I might have been able to get some of the info you want but because of how Faye is I was not able to. No instead of asking me for anything you both did your own thing and look were this got us."
"Sir we are ready to go" one of the JTF tells him causing him to nod.
"I will be fine I have Agent Star to escort me back to base." He tell the JTF who nods and waves his hand at the other telling them to move out as he stays at the door.
"I understand sir" he begins. "But I also will escort you back just in case."
The commander nods and looks at me. "Liz here is some info that I can tell you before we walk back to base. Don't always believe what people say about David and I would recommend trying to get to know him some more." The commander turns and walks away so I begin to follow. "One more thing for you to know. Don't listen to the rumors about him he has not traveled around the base. But you did not hear that from me".
"Wait commander why are you telling me this" I look at him shocked.
"Tell you what Agent Star" the commander tells me. "That was all Private Edwards over at the door". The private just smiles at me as he walks away. I slowly follow behind not realizing a small smile creeping across my face.
David POV
"You can't do this to me I'm the commander of the second wave of the Division." Faye yells from her holding cell.
I try to tune her out as I lay back on the rack in the second holding cell. I place my arms over my eyes to block out the light so I can take a nap. I close my eyes hoping to get a nap in before whatever happens. I listened to the rumors going around the base for a bit before I decided to do this. A lot of the rumors going around are about how the Division is no longer able to help in the fight. Plus, with the rise of the Hunters it has become harder and harder for them to fight.
"I DEMAND THAT YOU LET ME OUT OF THIS CELL." Faye yells as a new guard takes position in front of her cell. "I AM THE DIVISION COMMANDER. I AM UNDER ORDERS FROM THE PRESIDENT. I HAVE COMMAND OVER ALL DIVISION AND JTF FORCES IN THE AREA."
"Faye shut the fuck up." I groan in an annoyed voice.
"This is your fault." Faye snaps as she turns to face me with a glare that does not bug me. "If you were not such a pain in the ass and listened to me without fighting every worded out of my mouth. We would not be in here; I would have not had to lie to Miller about making him a Division Agent."
"I can't believe you lie to him." I laugh out as I shift to lay on my side and close my eyes. "You lie to him so he would betray me. Just because you could not stand with that fact that I left the division. So instead of doing the smart thing and just trying to work with the JTF more. You decide to turn as many people as you could against the JTF and me, so you could get what you wanted."
"It would have not come to this if you." Faye starts to snap but stops. I have already drifted off to sleep. "GOD DAMN YOU VIPER."
As I drift off to sleep with a laugh the memories of my pass come back to haunt me.
Viper Dream
A/N this might be a little bit of a long one. It goes into what Star asked the JTF Commander.
"Staff Sergeant Archer we have a situation." I hear from behind me causing me to turn to face the voice.
"What's wrong private" I order.
"The SaS Commander is ordering us to attack the strong hold." The private rushes out as if worried about what I'm going to say.
"That fucking moron we will get torn to shreds." I mutter as I look at the map of the strong hold in front of me. "Sergeant Baker, have you gotten news from the snipers we sent out."
"No Staff Serg we have not gotten anything back from them." Sergeant Baker tells the table in a quiet voice. "The squad we sent to check on them is also missing. We have no intel coming in on the stronghold they want us to attack."
"Private tell the Commander that the attack is a no go." I order the private who rush to tell me what the Commander wanted. "We have no recon on the fort, and we are down to squads." The private rush out the door to tell the Commander what I said.
"You know that is not going to go over well right" the sergeant laughs.
"I don't care honestly" I laugh. "Plus, by the time he get over his little temper tantrum I will be long gone."
"Great so I get to deal with the baby as you go and do what." The sergeant laughs in question.
"I'm going in to save the hostage, so we don't lose a whole squad of soldiers." I tell the Sergeant stop his laughing fit. I watch as he thinks about the words, I said but I cut him off before he can say anything. "The way I see it they will kill the hostage before a squad gets close or the first sight of a major fire fight. So, I will go in alone with a handgun and knife, so I don't make to much noise. The plus side is the commander will not be able to put me back in the brig after this. I just got my orders letting me know I need to be back state side."
"Bloody hell" the sergeant laughs. "So not only are you going to get one more poke at the Commander. You are also going to risk you life for a hostage you don't even know.
"Yeah, that's about right." I laugh back trying to lighten the mood.
"Well Staff Sergeant it has been an honor to serve with you." The sergeant tells me as he snap off a salute. "May your trip back home be a quite one."
I laugh as I return the salute. I finish my salute and turn to leave the tent to gather what I'm going to need to bring with me. As I enter my tent, I can hear the yelling of the commander coming from the command's tent. I start laughing harder at this knowing that there is nothing he can do to stop me. I already have my orders to leave this commander who believe he is a god in this world.
As I place the weapons around my person as I try to stop laughing. I also keep an ear out for any feet that might be heading my way. I don't need to fight off a couple military police before I set out on this trip. As I slid the dagger into its sheath, I barely make out the order for the MP's to come find my ass. I quickly grab another knife and the silencer for my pistol. I slip out of the back of the tent before the MP's get near and make my way into the forest.
"HE'S GONE SIR" I hear a yell from behind me as I walk deeper into the forest.
I don't hear a response as I walk deeper and deeper thanking god that it dark out. I just let out a low laugh know the commander is going to be pissed. As I walk, I try and decide what direction to head in. I finally decide to head in the direction of the sniper nest that we sent out a few days ago. Maybe if I can track them down, I might be able get some information on the fort.
I don't get my hopes up that I will find them because they have been missing for a few days now. We did send a squad of people out to try and find them the other day. That came up badly as the squad never returned from that. The Commander has been trying to send more squads out but never did. I duck under a tree branch as I continue my way to the snipers nest.
I glance down at the ground as I hear a metal noise from under my foot. I bend down to pick up whatever that sound is and investigate the noise. As my fingers touch the metal piece i feel the blood in my face drain. I have stepped on a spent rifle casing as I bring it closer to my eyes. The smell of old gun powder enters my nose as I move it closer see the caliber.
"Shit" I mutter under my breath as I read the caliber. "7.62 for AK's well that's going to hurt like a bitch if I get zapped by one."
I place the spent casing into a pocket as I stand back up. I continue my walk slowly towards the snipers nest. As I walk the smell of old blood enters my nose causing me to stop. Thankfully I did stop because I begin to hear voices coming from in-front of me.
"Why do they still have us up here". A voice cut thought the dark.
"Because you know that they might send more people up here to check on them." Another voice cuts in sounding annoyed. "We got a group of them the other day when they came to check on the four that we tortured and killed."
"That was a lot of fun getting them to talk." One of them laugh but I can't tell who. "It was even better when she showed up to force them to talk. She can be a real bitch when people don't want to talk to her. Even when she asks so nicely." By this time, I can tell that there is only two of them in the area, and that they are not really paying attention to what is going on around them.
"That is true" the other one laughs. "But I'm not going to lie to you I'm a little worried about what they did tell us." I use the cover of his voice to make my way closer to the pair.
"You mean the Archer guy they kept going on about." The first one laughs as I duck behind a tree to take in the sight of the two people. Thankfully they both have their backs turned to me. I creep closer ass I draw my knife out ready to cut open their throats. "They called him the bringer of death or something like that right."
"Yeah, they did." He never finishes his sentence as I cover his mouth as cut his throat open. I quickly throw the knife at the other guys as he turns to face his friend. He eyes widen as the knife hits him in the stomach as he falls to the ground. I drop the first guy's body to the ground and walk over to the second guys as he holds his stomach. I crouch down so I can look right into his face as I reach for the dagger.
"Ouch that has to hurt like hell." I tell him as I grab the dagger. "Here let me help you with that."
I ripe the dagger out of his gut and cover his mouth with my other hand. His eyes shoot open as the pain sets in. Tears come to his eyes as I continue to cover his mouth with my hand. He tries to pull away, but I move my hand so that it stays over his mouth.
"I was going to ask you some questions. " I tell the poor man who now has tears falling. "But from the sounds of it you hurt my friends who I sent up here to get me some information. So instead, I'm going to just kill you slowly." I take the knife and stab him in the legs as I look into his eyes. He screams again as I pull the knife out of his legs with a twist causing as much pain as I can.
I continue to cut and stab him slow over the next ten minutes until his body finally gives out. I watch his eye go blank as his life leaves his body. I slowly clean my knife on his shirt as I look around hoping to find a clue on to what they did with the snipers bodies. That way I can try to bring them home or tell someone back near the commanders tent were to find them.
I eyes fall on the packs that the snipers normally carry around with them. I slowly make my way over to them checking for anything else I might need. I stop just sort of the packs seeing something wrong with them. I can't tell what I see wrong with them, but I know they might be trapped. I glance around to see if there is anything I can use as a shield. I look back at the two bodies of the guys I just killed. A small smile crosses my lips as I walk towards the bodies.
I stack them one on top of the other trying to build a wall in front of me. I look around some more trying to find a couple other thing to use as a shield. I see a small log laying off to the side. I drag it over to where the bodies are and place it in-front of them. I place one body in-front of it and other behind to catch any of the debris if any before it get to me.
I take a couple rock and set them close by and lay down on the ground behind the small wall I made. I throw over the wall trying to stay as low as possible. Nothing happens so I carefully look over the wall I made only to see that I missed the bag. I shake my head glad the no one can see that I missed. I pick up another rock and throw it. This time it flies true and knocks one of the bags over.
I barely make it back behind the wall I made as an explosion happens. the blast wave shakes the forest around us causing leaf's and branches to fall. The wave pushes against my body as I try and stay as small as I can. As quickly as it happened its gone the forest in an eerie silence. I fell a small trickle of blood fall down my nose.
"Well, that sucked." I mutter to myself as I try and gather my bearings. I push my body to move just in case anyone heard the explosion. I don't need to be caught with my pants down. I shake my head again trying to clear it so I can move on. I slowly begin to stand as I continue to shake my head back and forth.
I begin to move away from the area only to hear the sound so motors roaring to life. I glance around to make sure I'm not leaving anything behind. I decide to just leave everything as it looks so I can leave the area without being seen. As I get deeper into the forest, I can hear the yelling of orders and the swearing of people being hit. I do my best to push forward to get out of the search area.
My body finally tells me that it done when my legs give out. I let out a sigh knowing that my body is not going to listen to me until I get some rest. I cover my body to the best of my ability and close my eyes.
It feels like no time has passed as I open my eyes as a few rays of sun hit me. I quickly get up and check my body to make sure I still have everything I need. I feel a bit better after resting. I grab a protein bar to eat as I continue my walk to the stronghold. As I finish the last bite of the bar the stronghold comes into sight.
I can see smoke coming from different areas around the area. I walk a bit closer to get a better view on the area. As I get closer, I begin to see the carnage of the battle that happened before. The bodies of the soldiers that tried to take the stronghold a few days ago. As I come to the edge of the forest, I duck behind a fallen tree so I can get a better view around the area.
It looks like I'm about 200 yards away from the stronghold. They seem to have cleared out the area around it so no one can sneak in or surprise them. That's smart of them to do that especially with who they have taken. These idiots decide to highjack a convoy the was transporting the president's daughter and her friends.
Of course, the president ordered the full force of the military to attack to get his daughter back, but it failed. With that fail one of the girls lost her life so the president commanded that the military fall back. So, the SaS got involved which just so happens to be where I'm at. Go figure I get a call from my old commander the next day telling me that he wants me to get involved.
I chuckle little as I remember how piss he was when I laughed at the request. It took him a full 30 minutes to finally stop cussing me out. When he finally told me that this is a request that was made to him by the higher ups. I laughed again I almost peed my pants. I know the old commander well enough to know that the request came from one of two people.
I stop thinking about the past when I hear the sound of a vehicle. I look over at the road leading into the stronghold. I watch as the vehicle pulls up to the gate and stops. I see a guard walk out and I'm guessing say something before waving the gate to open. I watch carefully as the vehicle enter the stronghold as the guard walks away.
As the gate closes, I make up my mind and get comfortable in my spot. To continue to watch the comings and goings of the stronghold. Until I finally find a small break in the guards. One of the guards on the wall seems disappears for ten minutes at a time. I watch this happen a few different times before I try my luck. As he disappears for the sixth time I rush towards the wall.
I press my back against the wall once I reach it. Thankfully, I was not seen during mad rush to the wall. I glance up at the wall to see if there is anyone looking over the side. I smirk at my luck when I see that no one is looking over the wall at me. I glance around the area to make sure I'm in the clear before I start moving along the base of the wall.
I poke my head around the corner of the fort to make sure no one is near and head in the direction of the gate. Seeing no one I dart in the direction of the gate hoping my luck holds out. As I get closer to the gate, I slow my run down so I'm able to calm my breathing before they can hear me. I stop moving as my breathing calms down and wait for the right time to strike.
I can hear the guard talking to someone, so I glance through the window quickly and duck back down. Before the guard can see me, with the look I got I know that there is only one guard in the room. From the sounds of it he does not have to check in with anyone. The only real question is where the is the gate operator.
I also need to move before a vehicle show up and gives my position away. As the guard continues to talk on the phone, I move closer. I see a door leading into the room that the guard is in and pause before opening it. I gentle place my hand on the handle as I move to open it. I make sure the guard is talking before I open the door.
I gently move the door handle to open the door and slip inside. Once inside I close the door and approach the guard for behind. I wait as the guard finishes his phone call before I end his life with the blade of my knife. Once the guard falls, I move him under the desk so it will take a couple minutes to find him. I look around again to make sure that no one saw me before I move again.
I leave the guards office using the door leading into the strong hold. As I leave the office the phone rings again. I pause for a second to think about if I should answer the phone. I decide against it and continue to look for the girls. Surprisingly it was easy to move around the area the guards were far and few between. It was almost as if they did not think it was possible to have someone sneak in. That's when I hear a conversation the chills my bones.
"Did you hear" one voice asks.
"No what happened now" a different voice answer.
"One of the girls died last night." The first voice tell him.
"This is the third one to die. If this keeps up, then only the presidents daughter will be left." The second voice sighs out.
"Well, I'm heading down there after we get off watch and going to see who left." The first voice laughs out loud.
"Just remember we can't touch." the second guard starts but get cut off.
"I know who we can and who we cannot touch." The first guard snaps at his partner. I feel my body move on its own as I move closer to the two guards. I step up behind one and stab my knife into the back of his neck killing him instantly. I grab the other guard with one hand over his mouth and the other holding a knife to his throat.
"You are going to take me to the hostages." I growl at him as I press the knife into his throat draw a little blood. "If you don't take me you will end up like your friend there."
"Fine, I will take you to them." The guard shakily answer as I move my hand off his mouth. I push him forward in a way to tell him to move so I can follow. We slowly make our way around the strong hold to where the hostages are. As we move, I notice that the sound of the strong hold seems to disappear. As we begin to move down the stairs, I begin to hear the sound of voices fighting. I push the guard harder to make him move faster.
Once he get the idea, I remove my knife from his neck and place it back in its sheath. Once its place back in the sheath I grab my pistol from its holster and the silencer from the pouch. I quickly screw the silencer on to my pistol that way the noise is not heard. The scream of a girl causes me to push the guard even faster.
I'm shocked at what I see when we reach the bottom of the stairs. A girl chained up against the wall with the guards laughing. One of the guards seems to have been hitting her with something. Seeing this pushes my blood to boiling temperatures as I rise my pistol to been shooting the guards in the room. I drop the one closest to the girl first with a shot to the head.
As the other guards turn to see where the shot came from, I level my gun at the next one and shot. I quickly kill the three guards in the room with the girl and slam the but of my gun into the back of the guards skull that guided me here. I check behind me to make sure no one heard the shooting. After that I move into the room with the girl. She seems to have calmed down after seeing me, but tears are still in her eyes.
"Hi there I'm David." I tell the girl hoping that she relaxes a bit more. "I'm on loan from the US military. I was sent to help get you girls home."
"How do I know you are telling the truth." The girls asks in a sad voice that I can barely hear.
"Well, I can't help with that." I try to laugh back but can tell it's not working. "Ask me some questions and I will do my best to answers them. Before you start can you please tell me where the other girls are first." I barely see her eyes shift to the door on my right. I turn to the door and walk towards it slowly just in case I missed a guard.
As I open the door the smell of blood and dead bodies enters my nose. The smell is so strong that it makes me gag. I cover my mouth to stop myself from puking as I look at the scene in front of me. I looks like a horror movie with how the room looks body parts and blood cover the room. As my eyes take in the room, I hear a small moan from a corner. I turn to try and find to source of the sound only to see a girl barely holding on to life.
I rush over to her and pick her up in my arms to carry her to the main room. Once there I gentle place her on the ground and get up to lose the door to lessen the smell. As I close the door the girl in chains begins to try and break free. I turn to her and walk closer to help her.
"Hold on I will help break the chains." I tell her as I get closer to help. As I look at the chains, I can tell that this will not be a easy lock to pick. "Please close your eyes and turn your face away. I'm going to have to shoot the lock out so I can get you out of here."
I see an unsure look on her face as she does what I ask her to. As I place the gun against the lock I try and face it away from us. Once I get the completed, I pull the trigger destroying the lock. I manage to catch the girl before she falls. I gently place her on the floor next to the other girl.
"Is there anyone else down here" I ask them. They both shake their heads no. "is one of your name Sara Weissman." When both girls shake their heads no, I let out a sigh.
"Do you happen to know where she is" I ask hoping to get an answer.
"They took here away a few minutes before you got here." one answers me in a low voice. "They said that they were tired of waiting." Just as they finish telling me that an alarm sounds.
"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK ENEMY FORCES ARE AT THE MAIN GATE." The PA system blares so that happens an explosion is heard. I look back at the girls hoping that they are okay.
"Please stay here." I tell them hoping they listen. "Someone will be back to help you. I'm going to try and find your friend."
They barely nod at me before I take off to try and find her. As I bolt up the stairs and out the door hoping that this attack does not push the leader to far. I watch as all the soldiers rushing towards the gate. As I look around hoping to see something to help me find where they might have moved her to. My eyes fall on four guards that are standing next to a door.
I watch the door open, and someone poke their head out. a guard hand him a gun and the head disappears back into the door. I reload my handgun and dart towards the door. I fire off four quick shots hitting the guards as the drop to the ground. I barely get to the door when the sound of a shot leaves the room. I throw the door open only to see a girl who seems to have been tortured.
She is laying on the ground with her face missing. Her cloths ripped and torn all over her. A gun shot hits nice to my head before I can go to deeply into what happened to her. I dive to into a corner as more shots get fired in my direction. I fire off a couple shots before I duck down and reload.
"Once I kill you, I'm going to have my way with that body." The voice laughs as gun fire sails overhead. Oh, the fun times we will have with Sara's body." This causes something inside of me to snap. I jump over the cover I was using and rush the person. A bullet enters my shoulder as I rush them causing me to stumble a little. I fire my gun off in the direction of the guy.
I jump over the cover that he is using and grab his neck. Using my momentum, I slam him into the wall behind the cover he is using. A groan escapes his lips as I slam him against the wall again. His eyes seem to glaze over in joy as this continues to happen. This sick fucker needs to die, I pull my dagger out and prepare to end his life when the door flies open.
"Stand down Staff Sergeant" a voice demands. This causes the guy who I'm hold by the neck to laugh in glee.
"Fuck your orders" I growl as I move the dagger closer. "This guy needs to die."
"That is not for you to decide." The voice snaps back at me. "Orders say that we have to bring him back to base."
Just as I'm about to slam my dagger into the guys throat, I hear my name.
End of Dream
"Staff Sergeant Archer" the voice from nowhere says. "Staff Sergeant Archer."
"What do you want" I growl. I roll over to see who is talking to me it just so happens the be Liz or Agent Star.
"The JTF commander wants to talk to you." Liz tells me as she holds up a set of hand cuffs.
"Really do I need to put those on." I ask in a mocking voice as I walk up to the cell door and sticking my hands out. "These are not needed honestly I will behave."
As they place the cuffs on, I glance around the area looking at the people near me. A few look like they are surprised to see me in the cell. A couple are just laughing because this has happened before when I punched a JTF officer in the face. I hear the click of the lock on the cuffs, so I look back at Liz.
"Stand back for the door." She orders me so I take a step back. "Guard please open this cell door. We will be escorting Staff Sergeant to see the Commander."
A guard walks up and opens my cell door. Two other guards take up positions on both sides of the cell with Liz stand by the one on the right. I take a step out of the cell causing one of the guards to jump. I let out a laugh as I walk out of the cell, both guards match my walking pace. I guess they are making sure that I don't try and run away.
One of the guards grabs my arm causing me to stop walking. As I come to a stop Liz steps in-front of me I'm guessing to lead me to where the commander is. She glances at the two guards to make sure they are ready. I guess they nodded back because she turns back around and starts walking. I follow behind her hoping that this is not going to take long.
As we walk, I take in the sights around me, people seem to be much happier. The line for people to enter the base has gone down. That thankfully made it easier for people to be seen by the doctors. I let out a laugh as I think about how we managed scare people away. We also cracked down on the JTF, we found some who were playing both hands. The sound of knocking brings me back from my thoughts.
"Commander, its Liz." Liz tells the door of the Commander. "I have Staff Sergeant Archer with me."
"The door is open Agent Star." I hear from behind the door. Liz pushes the door open and turns to face me. I walk towards the door but before I enter it the commander voice booms again. "Agent Star remove the cuffs from him. There is no need for them plus I'm sure he has already taken them off."
I let out a laugh as I hold up the cuffs so the guards can see that I took them off. The look of shock on their faces is hilarious. I pass the cuffs off to the guards and walk into the office that the commander is using. As I step into the office, I see the commander shake his head at the action that just happened.
"Guards you can go back to your posts." The commander tell the two JTF guards who escorted me here. "Agent Star can keep an eye on him from inside the office." I walk into the office and take a sit in-front of the desk. I hear Liz shut the door behind her as she walks in. I look at the commander who is just smiling at me.
"So, what can I do for you James." I laugh out as I talk to the home. "I was having a really good nap in that cell."
"You should listen to the Commander." Liz snaps at me as I continue to laugh.
"Save your breath Agent." The commanders sighs as he raises a hand. "David you can stop the act. I have known you to long, so this little show you are putting on is not going to work. Yes, I know that you have been sleeping the guards told me that much. I was also told that you were talking in your sleep." I feel the smile leave my face as he says those words. I feel Liz eyes on the back of my head also.
"David, tell it to me straight." The commander continues as he glares at me. "Are you having dreams about what happened to the girls." I shot the commander a death glare trying to get him to shut up, but it does not work.
"Girls" Liz asks the commanders.
"Look can we just get to why I'm here." I snap at them both hoping to get them back on track. "I don't really care what happens to me, but Miller had it coming." The commander raises his hand to stop me.
"You are cleared of charges David." James tells me as he lowers his hand. "We were on the way to arrest him when we ran into your group. We found out he was working with the LMB. You killing him is not great but at least now we don't have a problem with the LMB. So, the minute you leave the office you are back on full duty."
"Understood Commander." I stand up to leave so I can get back to work.
"But David we will talk about the girls." The commander tells me as I open the door.
"Girls" Star asks again in a confused voice.
"Commander, can you take care" I start but stop when he raises his hand.
"Fine I will take care of it." The commander nods as I leave to room. "Agent Star please take a sit and I will explain the question you have."
