The voices of Albion and Ddraig could be faintly heard from where Roxas, Rias and Palutena (whose baby-bump had now become far more noticeable now) were sat in the time-chamber underneath Roxas' house. They watched, from hundreds of meters away, the five-meter-tall crimson Dragon that was Isane Hyoudou, and the small speck that was the white armour of Valian Lucifer, rising into the air and beginning to do battle.
"So that's Isane's subspecies Balance Breaker?" Rias muttered, as she subtly positioned herself on Roxas' lap, and hummed lightly as Roxas casually stroked her body while watching the Red and White Dragon Empresses doing battle.
"Yup." Roxas replied, pulling Palutena closer to him as she scooted towards her husband too. "First time I've seen it with my own eyes, too. It's just as badass-looking as you described it, Palutena."
"Mmhmm." Palutena nodded, stretching before leaning on her husband. "Why'd you bring me down here, anyway? Not complaining, but don't you usually bring Asia down here when sparring sessions that'll more-than-likely result in someone getting hurt happen?"
"She's out on a summon." Roxas replied. "With the couple that usually asks her to babysit their kids, I think."
Palutena nodded, and yawned again as she watched Valian and Isane in their sparring session. She saw Isane firing a long stream of fire from her mouth, and rapidly twisting her head around to get that stream fired in as many directions as possible, in hopes of hitting the tiny speck that was Valian, who was flying around and nimbly avoiding all the fire that Isane fired her way.
Just as Isane stopped firing, Valian (inside her armour), twisted around and dashed at Isane, hitting her at max velocity and pushing her down to the ground so quickly that any regular person who was watching wouldn't be able to see her.
["Divide!"] Albion called, from inside the wings that Valian's Sacred Gear took the form of by default. ["Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!"]
Dragon-Isane let out a choked gasp as she hit the ground, and panted hard as Valian raised into the air, exiting her armour and smirking. A transportation-circle opened close to Dragon-Isane, which Roxas, Palutena and Rias came through, the former of whom prompted Valian to come down to the ground, which she did.
Rias struck up a conversation with Roxas' Queen as Palutena began healing Isane after she returned to human form, with Roxas by her side.
"How're you holding up, Isane?" Roxas asked of his Bishop's Pawn, once Palutena was done healing her.
"Okay, apart from the fact that Valian is just about impossible to beat." Isane replied. "I could feel it during the fight, even when I was in my Dragon-form. The power gap between me and her is huge."
"As you are right now, sure." Roxas admitted. "But I wouldn't go so far as to say that beating my Queen is 100% impossible. Because Isane, there's one thing in your power set that Valian, as powerful as she is, lacks."
Isane blinked, slightly confused.
"I... do?" she asked of her master and lover. "What are you talking about, Roxas?"
"Why don't you figure it out?" Roxas asked, holding out a hand and letting Isane use it to pull herself to her feet. "Think, kid, think."
And Isane thought... for all of five seconds, before she came upon an answer that she thought would work.
"Being able to Promote?"
"Yup." Roxas replied. "You're a Pawn. You can Promote. You can increase your strength, magical power and speed to a great degree at a second's notice. Valian's my Queen. She can't Promote. She can't increase her strength, magical power and speed to a degree beyond the nigh-bullshit power status she's already at."
Isane giggled for a couple of seconds at Roxas' remark, before frowning.
"But what good would that do?" she asked. "I could become super-strong, but any damage I deal to Valian she could deal back at least five times over. I'm not that great with magic, so promoting to Bishop would be pretty useless-"
"Then promote to Knight and increase your speed." Roxas cut across Isane. "Throw everything you have into your promotion and become as fast as Valian: Let me drop a little more knowledge on you: A pretty big weakness of Divine Dividing is that Valian has to physically touch whoever she wants to sap power from. Promoting to Knight sounds like a pretty good way to counteract that specific drawback, don't you think?"
Isane seemed to think it over for a second, before a light-bulb seemed to go off in her head.
"Yea, I think so." She replied. "Thanks for the advice, Roxas."
"No problem." Roxas shrugged, before stretching and beginning to walk off as Rias and Palutena walked away from Valian, their conversation (whatever it was about) seemingly finished. "Good luck."
Isane blushed as she watched Roxas go, before turning back to Valian, who was stretching and preparing for the incoming second round of the sparring session.
"Ready, Isane?" she asked, a smirk on her face. Isane resisted the urge to look at her slightly bouncing breasts as she nodded, and got into her own combat-stance.
A few more seconds of silence passed between the Red and White Dragon Empresses as Roxas, Rias and Palutena teleported a safe distance away from the incoming battle, before-

Isane and Valian took to the air at roughly the same time, entering their respective dragon/armoured forms at roughly the same time as well. Isane made the first move of the battle, opening her mouth and belching out such a large stream of flame that Valian could feel the magical properties of said fire impacting her as she dodged out of the way.
'Crap, she almost got me.' Valian thought to herself, dashing backwards and watching as Isane flapped her wings to give chase, letting out a loud roar as she did so. Valian stopped flying and created several shields out of magic-circles in front of her, preparing for Isane to fly right into her. However, before Isane could fly into her, a large transportation-circle opened between her and the shields, which she flew through.
Valian blinked in surprise, wondering where Isane had gone before she felt a colossal force hit her squarely in the back, sending her forward through the very shield that she created and spinning over and over in mid-air.
'The fuck?' Valian thought, righting herself in mid-air and turning around to see Dragon-Isane flying at her again, far faster than she had been before. 'How did she get me from behind?' As another transportation-circle opened in front of Valian, which Isane flew through, Valian instinctually turned around, certain that Isane was going to come at her from behind.
However, Valian didn't notice a transportation-circle opening BELOW her, but she sure as hell noticed Isane flying out of it and catching her from below, sending her flying upwards and away. Roxas' Queen opened up her hand and fired several dozen bullets of energy (some demonic, others angelic) at Isane, but they all missed their five-meter-tall target initially, but began to home in on her as she flew upwards and turned around.
'Did she Promote or something?' Valian inwardly asked herself as she saw Isane flying faster than the bullets that she fired. 'To either Queen or Knight?'
Valian widened her eyes as she saw Isane turning around and flying straight at her, with the bullets following. Guessing what was about to happen, she flew upwards, passing out of the way of Isane as she (and the magical bullets) passed where she formerly was within half a second.
'That's some speed.' Valian thought to herself, watching Isane fly towards her and fly upwards at the last second, watching the homing magical bullets fly at her before she created a shield, blocking all the bullets and allowing them to be destroyed before setting her sights on Dragon-Isane and giving chase. However, as she rapidly gained on Isane, she saw her flying through a transportation-circle again Unfortunately, she wasn't able to course-correct in time to get out of the way of being smashed into by Isane as she came out of a transport-circle and hit her from the side, kicking her away as a follow-up before Valian could get her hands on Isane and divide her power. She flew away through a transport-circle before Valian had the chance to retaliate, and came at her from above.
Grimacing from the pain that came with the force of being crashed into from above by a blisteringly-fast five-meter-tall crimson Dragon, Vali shook her head and threw several slightly larger balls of energy, some demonic, others angelic, towards her opponent.
However, Isane seemed to dodge through all of them as she rushed at Valian, crashing into her again and pushing her into the ground with such force and speed that Roxas' Queen felt herself spitting up blood, groaning in pain as she heard her Balance Breaker armour cracking slightly.
'Shit!' Valian thought, hurriedly conjuring up a shield as Isane lifted off her, waited half a second, and descended onto her again. The shield didn't do much good, and simply broke as Isane crashed through it and landed on Valian again. Valian growled in pain and annoyance as Isane raised up above her, waited for half a second, and descended onto her a second time. However, Roxas' Queen was able to roll out of the way of Isane's attempted descent-attack.
She dashed back at Isane, throwing a punch at the large target that was her dragonic abdomen as a result. Fortunately for Valian, her thrown punch made her mark, sending Dragon-Isane flying backwards for a second or so. However, Dragon-Isane righted herself in mid-air and landed back on the ground, letting out a roar of defiance and sending a stream of fire at Valian from her mouth.
As the flame came at her, the wings that Valian's Sacred Gear took the form of extended and covered its wielder, with the energy feathers under said wings glowing intensely as they were hit by the fire that Isane spewed her way.
The fire spread out, covering the energy-feathers of Valian's wings until Isane stopped spewing the flame her way. As Albion, from within the depths of Valian's Sacred Gear, cried ["Reflect!"], the fire was expelled from Valian's wings back in the direction that it had came, hitting Dragon-Isane in he face and sending her stumbling backwards. Once she recovered and righted herself, she let out another loud roar directed at Valian, who smirked.
"What?" the silverette asked from under her damaged armour, which began to automatically repair itself. "Had enough? Want to take a break?"
Valian received another roar in return from her rival, this one far louder and more defiant.
"That's what I thought." Valian replied, as her armour finished repairing itself. "Though since you got the advantage here, let me make this fight a bit more interesting."
Dragon-Isane looked confused as Valian closed her eyes, and began to be enveloped in a white and blue aura that almost blinded all those who watched the battle.
"I, who am about to awaken-"
"That's enough, Valian!" Roxas cut across his Queen before she could continue chanting. The nigh-blinding aura, as well as Valian's chanting, ceased as Roxas and Palutena appeared through a transportation-circle, and Isane returned to human form, panting hard as she did so. "I think we'll leave that sparring session there for today."
"Today?" Isane gave a slightly tired chuckle as she leaned on Rias, who appeared through a transportation-circle of her own at that moment. "I swear it's been three goddamn days since we came in here, in terms of time-chamber time, right?"
She blushed lightly as she pulled off the shirt that she was wearing, which was wet with sweat to the point that it wouldn't have gotten much wetter if one had left the shirt out in driving rain for a day or two. Roxas cast an appreciative look at Isane's exposed upper body, which was beginning to look quite toned (nowhere near on the level of Valian or Imogen, but still very nice to look at).
"Three and a half, actually." Roxas replied. "And I don't even think about how much time gets spent in here in relation to outside, hence why I said that that'd do for today rather than this month."
"Fair enough, coming from someone who's lived almost six centuries." Isane muttered, as Rias helped her move towards the exit of the time-chamber that Palutena opened at that moment. Isane and Rias went through first, followed by Palutena, with Roxas and Valian bringing up the rear, before all five beings headed upstairs to the living room of Roxas' house.
While on he way up, Roxas stepped back Palutena and Rias (who had struck up a conversation about something related to sex, Roxas wasn't entirely listening) and caught up to Isane.
"That was impressive, what you did." Roxas commended his Bishop's Pawn. "Being fast enough to hold your own against Valian, even if she was holding back because that was a spar. I'm impressed, Isane."
Isane let out a small giggle, and blushed.
"Yeah, I threw everything I had into that Knight promotion, like you said." She replied. "Truth be told... I was kinda operating on instinct for most of the second half of that fight, since I was NOT used to fighting with that kind of speed."
"Well, even if you were going on instinct, it sure seemed to work." Roxas smiled. "So I guess the next step is to help you process all that speed when you Promote to Knight. Then when that's done we can move onto Bishop or Rook, then you'll be ready for using Queen to its max effectiveness."
Isane blushed again from Roxas' compliments as the two of them, plus Rias, Palutena and Valian, reached the living room of Roxas' house.
Isane moved upstairs immediately to shower up and change clothes, with Valian joining her, while Rias and Palutena headed to the kitchen for something to eat (with Palutena muttering something about craving pickles. Yeah, Roxas didn't get it either). Roxas considered plopping down on the couch and starting a 7th playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, but that thought was interrupted when a familiar red and black portal opened, and a certain black-haired red-eyed woman stepped through it, dressed in clothing that was far more casual than Roxas was used to seeing her in.
"Raven." Roxas greeted his old teacher.
"Roxas." Raven greeted him in return. "You wanted to get your new guns upgraded in my gun-shop?"
"Oh, yeah." Roxas replied, remembering the conversation that he and Raven had had a few days ago. "We doing that now?"
Raven nodded, and cast a transportation-circle a couple of steps away from her. Roxas obeyed the black-haired Devil's non-verbal request and stepped into it, with Raven following and activating the circle as she did so, whisking the Branwen Head and her former pupil away.

A cross of light appeared outside the enormous laboratory that Azazel spent most of his time, with Michael, leader of the Angels, and Pit, his Brave Saints Queen, appearing from the light as it faded. A number of Fallen Angels, and a smaller number of Devils and Lilim who had begun living in that area of the Underworld since the Christian Pantheon's peace treaty had been signed months earlier, looked up and saw two of the most important Angels in Heaven, and scurried away to make room for them as they walked towards the laboratory, entering in silence.
"Azazel?" Michael called out once he and Pit reached the main room, which was full to bursting of all manner of contraptions (or 'projects') that Azazel had been working on over the centuries. "You in here?"
"Sure am!" Azazel's voice was heard to their left, as the Governer-General of the Fallen Angels emerged from what looked like a sports car that was outfitted with all kinds of weaponry. "Oh, hey Michael. Sorry, I didn't hear you coming in."
"It's fine." Michael replied, raising a blond eyebrow at the sight of the car that Azazel had emerged from. "...Should I even ask?"
"Nope." Azazel replied, stretching himself with a grin before walking over to the two Angels, his expression shifting to a slightly more serious expression. "We all know what you're here for, so let's not waste time. Come on."
Azazel then led Michael and Pit through his lab, with the two Angels curiously looking at several of the projects that Azazel seemed to have strewn around the place. One looked like what most regular humans thought of when the term 'UFO' was used, one looked like a bicycle but seemed to have rockets attached to it, and another simply looked to be a lance-like golden dagger with a purple jewel at the end of the handle. The latter thing that Michael cast his eyes across seemed to have Dragonic energy seeping from it.
"Would've pulled that out during the Summit if Roxas hadn't gone and been all Roxas-y." Azazel remarked, when he spied Michael looking at the dagger. "I was gonna say a whole thing about the Gear and how it's more important than starting needless wars, too?"
"Wait, Gear?" Michael blinked, as he, Pit and Azazel came to a door at the very back of the main room of the Governer-General's laboratory.
"Not important!" Azazel replied, placing a hand on the door and seeming to unlock it with magic, before pushing the door open and allowing the Acting God and his Queen to enter, before he shut the door behind them.
Pit was the first to notice the main 'attraction' of this seemingly-specialised back room. In a pod, looking to be unconscious, and dressed in nothing but what looked like a pair of swimming trunks-
"Is that... Pittoo?" Pit spoke up for the first time. Azazel looked over at the young Angel, blinking slightly as he processed what was said.
"Pittoo... Pit Two... oh, that's clever." He remarked. "But yeah, that's him. Got him from Wukong in the aftermath of the Zeppelin Incident up on Earth a couple of weeks back. He was a bit too rowdy, so I had to knock him out and put him in stasis while I... figured him out."
Pit walked up to the pod that Dark Pit was contained in, and placed a hand on the glass as he looked inside.
"What do you mean by 'figured him out', Azazel?" Michael asked of the man who was once the second-strongest Angel in all of Heaven, behind himself.
"His origins, mainly." Azazel replied, pulling a file out of a magic-circle and tossing it onto a small desk, before pointing to it. "The report from Grayfia regarding the Kokabiel incident states that Dark Pit was created from something called the 'Schaff Mirror', which was actually based on one of my own inventions-"
"Of course it was." Michael mumbled, rolling his eyes. "Why did you even make something like that?"
"Last-ditch effort to make more Fallen Angels to fight during the Great War." Azazel replied. "Anyway, the Schaff Mirror seems to be based off of that, and when the destroyed mirror was recovered and brought to me, I found some magical engineering inside it that I found pretty interesting."
Michael raised an eyebrow, also seemingly interested.
"It seemed to engineer the clones created by it to be loyal to the head of Millennium, and by extension, Millennium as an organisation." Azazel continued, before turning to Pit, who was still looking at Dark Pit inside the pod. "Hey, Pit."
"Yes?!" Pit jumped from being directly addressed, and turned around. Michael gave a little chuckle as Azazel spoke.
"You destroyed the Mirror before the cloning process could be completed, right?" Azazel asked of Michael's Queen. Pit hesitantly nodded.
"Y-yeah, I did." He replied. "I ran at the mirror, jumped at it and shattered it, and Pittoo was there."
"I see." Azazel nodded, sitting down at a small desk, picked up the file and began flicking through it idly. "Hmm."
"What are you thinking, Azazel?" Michael asked.
"I'm thinking that I've got a theory for why our edgy little incomplete clone over there is so vehemently anti-authority that you could mistake him for V from V for Vendetta." Azazel replied, jerking his head towards Dark Pit. "Pit, you're not loyal to Millennium, right?"
"No way!" Pit replied, slightly indignantly. "Why would I be? I'm loyal to Michael, and to Lady Palutena, and to R-"
"Your step-father Roxas, right." Azazel replied, holding up a hand and flicking one finger, conjuring up a horizontal line of light that hovered above the desk. "I'll explain my theory as simply as possible. I think that when Dark Pit was created, the Schaff Mirror was meant to take Pit's un-loyalty to Millennium, or rather loyalty to Michael, and turn it into loyalty to Millennium." Two vertical lines popped up, one on either end of the horizontal line, with the vertical line on the right accompanied by a small projection of a swastika, and the one on the left accompanied by a small projection of Michael's head.
"And you think Dark Pit's loyalty was caught in the middle?" Michael asked, drawing a vertical line in the dead-centre of the horizontal line that Azazel had drawn, directly in between the two vertical lines Azazel had drawn earlier.
"Exactly!" Azazel replied, waving a hand to dispel the magical drawing entirely and standing up, before walking over to the pod that Dark Pit was kept in. "Two opposite extremes: loyalty to Michael and loyalty to Millennium. It's a scale, and Dark Pit being incomplete has him right in the middle. Loyal to no-one but himself, I'd bet."
Michael remained silent for a moment as he considered Azazel's explanation of his theory.
"That... makes sense to me." The Acting God spoke, after a while. "But if Dark Pit is an incomplete clone, do you think that that's the only thing incomplete about him?"
"I doubt it." Azazel replied. "I've got a couple of theories about Dark Pit's connection to Pit thanks to that mirror, but they're pretty damn hard to prove without having Pit here, which is why I asked him to come here with you."
The look on Michael's face told Azazel quite plainly that he had already figured out what the leader of the Fallen Angels was getting at. He shared a look with Pit, who silently nodded, giving his consent to what Azazel was asking.
"How long do you want him for?" Michael asked.
"A week." Azazel replied. "Maybe slightly longer. Won't mistreat him, I promise."
"I'm sure you won't." Michael replied. "Just keep Pit him away from anything that could tempt him into Falling."
"Will do." Azazel nodded. "Kinda goes without saying, but still. Will do. Any other conditions?"
"I'll be coming back every couple of days to see how Pit's doing." Michael replied. "Just to be on the safe side."
"Fine..." Azazel rolled his eyes, but nodded. "Deal."
"I'll see myself out." Michael turned to the door as Azazel cast a spell at it, opening it. "See you in a couple of days, Pit."
Pit nodded and gave a salute to Michael as he left Azazel's lab. When the door closed behind Michael, Pit turned back to Azazel, who cast a magic-circle with one hand and summoned another table, a chair and some food.
"Might as well eat something before we get started, Pitty Pat." Azazel muttered. He raised an eyebrow as Pit positively DIVED at the food and began scarfing it down without any hesitation, finishing the entire meal in under a meal.

A transportation-circle opened in an unseen alleyway in downtown Seattle, with Roxas and Raven appearing from said transportation-circle a couple of seconds later. Raven immediately left the alleyway and began walking down the street to the right, with Roxas following after a couple of seconds once he realised that it was night-time in the city.
"I swear, I'll never get the hang of human-world timezones." Roxas muttered, once he fell into step with Raven as they crossed a street. Raven let out a quiet chuckle in reply as they walked for another moment before coming to a small-looking shop. Raven opened the door to the shop and walked inside, holding the door open for Roxas with her foot as she did so. The inside of the shop looked very much like your typical gun-shop: with guns lining on display on most of the walls and in cases, and some other wares such as body-armour, melee weapons like knives and machetes, and even souvenir t-shirts, around the rest of the store.
"Welcome to-" a female voice from the counter began to speak, but stopped. "Oh, Raven. Hello."
"Hey, Emma." Raven greeted the main person at the shop. She took a quick glance around, and after seeing that nobody was there, spoke up. "Remember how I said that I'd be bringing someone to the special section here?"
The aforementioned Emma, a no-nonsense-looking woman with brown hair done up in a ponytail, nodded.
"Well, here he is." Raven stepped aside, allowing Roxas to step into view. Emma looked Roxas up and down, and nodded.
"I see." She replied. "Well, right this way."
She then turned around and walked through a door to her immediate right (Roxas' left), with Roxas following at Raven's silent insistence, and Raven herself bringing up the rear. After travelling through a firing range and walking down a short flight of stairs, Roxas and Raven were led into an underground room at least 20 times the size of the shop up above. The room was filled with workers dashing around and doing stuff that Roxas was sure Raven understood far better than he did, and he also spied Qrow, Ruby and Yang in a corner talking with one of the workers.
Emma disappeared back upstairs, while an Incubus (easily identified by their tail that had an arrow on the end of it) walked up to Roxas and Raven.
"Hi." The Incubus greeted Roxas and Raven. "I'm Renar, and I'll be working with you today. What do you need done today?"
"Roxas has a new pair of guns, and he wants them modified." Raven replied. "I believe he wants modifications done to the gun that I personally made for him, too." Renar nodded.
"I see." He replied, looking at Roxas and smiling. "Could I see the guns in question, please Roxas?"
"Sure." Roxas replied, summoning Luce and Ombra from gun-shaped tattoos on his lower-back (enchanted as such by the Dwarves from Venelana's peerage, same as had been done to Clarent Galatine and the Vindicator), and showing them to Renar, who widened his eyes slightly for a couple of seconds but otherwise showed no reaction.
"Yup, I'll be able to modify them, no problem." He muttered to himself, before looking back up at Roxas. "And the other one?"
Roxas dispelled Luce and Ombra, and summoned the Vindicator. Renar let out a low whistle as Roxas dispelled the gun as well.
"Same for that one." He replied. "Follow me, Roxas, and we can get started right away."
Roxas nodded, and silently followed Renar through the underground space. He caught a little snippet of conversation as he passed Yang, Ruby and Qrow.
"You sure you need enough recoil on that monster you call a sniper rifle, Ruby?"
"Yup! The more mobility for me and my sweetheart Crescent Rose, the better!"
"I just need a new kind of ammo for Ember Celica. I'm thinking something like sticky grenades?"
Roxas held back a chuckle at the enthusiasm from Sona's second Knight as he continued to follow Renar into an office-like space. Renar cleared some papers off his desk with a wave of his hand, and sat down as Roxas pulled out Luce, Ombra and the Vindicator and set them down on the desk, as he was bidden to.
"So, what kind of modifications were you thinking of, Roxas? We do anything you can think of... within reason, of course."
"Heh." Roxas chuckled, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Well, for all three, I want them to be able to fire bullets made out of my own mixed demonic and angelic power. I know that one-" he pointed to the Vindicator "hasn't been customised to be able to do that, but I'm not so sure about those two." he pointed to Luce and Ombra. Renar gave a nod.
"Oh, that's easy enough." He replied, waving his hand and conjuring up a chair. "Just take a seat, and I can get a drop or two of your blood, which is all I'll need to get your life-signature, that I can implant into the guns."
Roxas sat, and offered his hand. He clenched his teeth for a fraction of a second as Renar pressed one finger against his hand, extracting some blood from him and healing the wound up in the same instant.
"Thanks." Renar thanked Roxas, as he walked back to his desk. "That the only thing you wanted, or...?"
"For the Vindicator, yeah." Roxas replied. "For Luce and Ombra though, no. I wanted to change their look a little, in order to fit... well, me, more than Sparda when he made the guns, or had them made." He spoke. "Does that make sense?"
"Yes." Renar nodded. "And that's quite an understandable wish. What did you have in mind for Luce and Ombra?"
"Well for Luce, I was thinking a light silver finish all over, instead of pure white." Roxas replied. "And for Ombra, I figured a darker silver would go well instead of black."
"A fan of the colour, are you?" Renar smiled, doing as Roxas wished simply by touching them with one finger each. "That makes sense, considering who you're descended from. And how much you look like him."
Roxas let out another chuckle.
"So I've been told." He replied, blushing slightly before continuing to outline all the modifications he wanted for his guns: for Luce and Ombra, he requested for the engravings of a smiling half-sun and half-moon on the outward sides of both pistols to be replaced with engravings of Angel wings and Devil wings, respectively. He also had the grips that were already on the guns replaced by new ergonomic grips that perfectly fit his hands.
All in all, the process took only about five minutes.
"That should be everything." Roxas spoke to Renar, as he asked. "Thanks for your help."
"No problem." Renar inclined his head in reply. "I'll get to work on the blood ritual to be done on your guns at once. I should be finished with them by the end of the day: I'll ask someone to give them to Raven, then she can give them to you. That sound reasonable?"
"Sure." Roxas replied. "How much do I owe you for all of this?"
"750 Souls." Renar replied, conjuring a small card-machine. "I'm sure that won't even be a drop in the bucket for you, will it?"
Roxas calmly smiled and paid with his card, before silently taking his leave from Renar's office. Before he could leave the underground section of Raven's shop, however, he spied something interesting-looking that was situated where Ruby, Yang and Qrow were before he went into Renar's office (they weren't there anymore. They probably left after getting the upgrades that they wanted). It looked like the handle of a sword, with some miniaturized computer-looking tech situated inside it. The whole contraption was closed inside a glass case.
"Something else caught your eye, Roxas?" Raven's voice sounded from right behind Roxas, making him jump slightly, prompting a slightly dark chuckle from her.
"Just that." Roxas pointed to the sword-handle-looking thing. Raven cast a glance at it.
"Just something I've been tinkering with." She replied. "When the Kuoh Treaty got signed, Heaven came to me asking for a new model of the light-swords that your usual grunt Exorcists use, and this is the result." The glass case opened, seemingly on cue, and Raven took it out, treating it far more delicately than anything Roxas had ever seen her hold. "Of course, it's unfinished right now. And it's only a prototype."
"Sure, I get it." Roxas replied. "So how's it different to the old light-swords that Exorcists use?"
"Well, it doesn't project a blade of light by default, for a start." Raven replied. "It projects raw magical energy that can be configured into light or dark energy, depending on what opponent you happen to be fighting at the time."
"Right." Roxas nodded. "So how does it work?"
"Computer chip on the inside projects a magnetic field in the shape of a sword's blade." Raven replied. "Think something like a hand-and-a-half bastard sword."
"Ahh." Roxas nodded.
"When thaumatium is inserted into the handle of the blade, and when the blade is turned on, the blade of magical energy is projected in the shape of a rigid sword-blade." Raven continued. "With said blade being only a few nanometres thick. Ten thousand times thinner than your average sword-blade. So cutting through anything that's not energy itself, or made of materials with magic woven into them, is a damn certainty."
"Sweet." Roxas replied. "Very deadly-sounding. Very you, Raven."
Raven let out another short chuckle, as she smirked.
"I know." She replied. "Mind you, these'll only be going to Human Exorcists, so your average self-righteous prick's still going to need a lot more than a new-fangled energy-sword to pose a threat to any decent supernatural being, let alone someone like me. Or you."
Now it was Roxas' turn to let out a short chuckle.
"I wasn't worried in the first place." He shrugged in reply, with a smile. "But still, that sounds like a damn cool weapon. Thanks for letting me have my guns upgraded here, too."
"No problem." Raven replied, her smirk devolving to a more genuine smile. "See you when it's time for the Kyoto trip."
"Same to you." Roxas nodded, beginning to walk towards the stairs that led back up to the main gun-shop. "Really looking forward to spending time with you in Kyoto, by the way."
As he left the room, the Branwen Head felt herself trying to suppress a light blush as she watched him go.
Line Break
"Alright, have the biology worksheets finished and back to me by next Friday." Roxas instructed his second-year science class, as Elsha handed out the aforementioned worksheets to all forty-or-so students in the class (with Isane, Asia, Irina and Xenovia among them). "You should find everything you need to answer everything on the worksheets in the fourth chapter of your textbooks. And I know we got the Kyoto trip coming up tomorrow, but I still won't accept any excuses for not having the work in on time, I'm giving you more time than I usually would to get this done as it is. Got it?"
There were general murmurs of ascent from everyone in the class.
"Good." Roxas sat back down at his desk and yawned. "Speaking of the trip, I figured I'd stop teaching a little early and let you know how things are gonna go down on the trip." A small smirk escaped him as he saw the entire class of second-years lightening up and beginning to chatter excitedly.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm excited too." Roxas chuckled. "Quieten down a bit and I'll tell you about it."
Everyone proceeded to shut up, almost instantly.
"Right." Roxas rebooted the laptop located on his desk and began logging into it as he talked. "As you probably already know, the trip's taking place over four days. Most of the first day, after we arrive at the hotel we'll be staying at, will just be general sightseeing and shopping in Central Kyoto. In the later afternoon, we'll be taking a dedicated tour of the Nishijin district, then heading back to the hotel for dinner. Day two, we'll be taking a tour of Northwest Kyoto in the morning and going to Arashiyama in the afternoon, and having dinner at a restaurant before going back to the hotel. Day three, we go around Southern Higashiyama and Southeast Kyoto, and day four will be going around Northern Higashiyama and souvinir-shopping in Downtown Kyoto before taking the train home, where we'll arrive back here in Kuoh at around 5pm, if things go well. Any questions so far?"
Nobody had any questions.
"Alright." Roxas continued, booting up a word processor on his laptop. "Raven and I have already decided, for safety's sake, that everyone'll be in groups of five or six. We've tried to keep the groups limited to students who know each other well, but nobody's perfect. If anyone's got problems with the groups they're in, let either me or Raven know and we'll see what we can do." He scrolled down to the lists of groups and stopped on them, showing them off to the students via the interactive whiteboard installed in the classroom.
"I won't bother talking about every group individually, you can all read." Roxas remarked, taking a glance at the group. What he had said about him and Raven trying to keep the students to their friend-groups, who they knew well, had some truth, the only groups that that rule had to be bent, or rather completely shattered, was placing Kiba with Isane, Asia, Xenovia and Irina, placing Reya, Momo, Tomoe and Tsubasa from Sona's peerage with a second-year named Tadami Kamo (who apparently came from an Exorcist family in Japan), and... placing Matsuda and Motohama, two students who got along with literally no-one else in their year, with the only other four male students in their year.
Roxas couldn't even remember the names of three of those four off the top of his head, with the fourth only coming to mind because of how often Sona complained about his open desire to impregnate her. Not marry, just impregnate.
Regardless, Roxas was prepared for a wave of outburst remarks to come flying his way, and he got... less than what he was expecting. The only major complainers, it seemed, were Matsuda and Motohama.
"THAT'S NOT FAIR! PRETTY-BOY KIBA GETS TO BE WITH THE FOUR HOTTEST GIRLS IN THIS CLASS AND WE GET STUCK WITH A BUNCH OF DUDES? COME ON MR. WILSON, HELP FELLOW DUDES OUT!"
"No." Roxas replied, his voice becoming unexpectedly cold. At the sound of his new tone, everyone in the class stopped talking, at the exact same time. "I won't 'help fellow dudes out', if it means giving you an excuse to perv on them even more than I have a feeling you'll already try to do." He got to his feet and walked over to their desks, and leaned down. "And believe me, if that feeling of mine proves to be right, and you try to perv on any of the girls on this school trip, then I, and more importantly Raven, will know. Am I understood?"
Both pervs audibly gulped in unison, with large beads of sweat forming on their foreheads at the exact same time, and nodded. Roxas knew for a damn fact that they feared Raven more than him (which he could sympathise with, but only a little. He'd been through being taught by Raven, too), and he doubted that Raven would mind if he used that fact to full advantage.
"Good." Roxas replied, straightening up as the bell rang. "Alright, out you go. I'll see you all at Kuoh Station tomorrow morning."
Everyone began to file out of the classroom, Matsuda and Motohama walking with clear expressions of pure FEAR on their faces. After a minute and a half or so, within which all the students had left the room, leaving Roxas and Elsha alone, Roxas used a quick spell to transform his suit back into more casual clothes.
"Damn, that was a long one." he remarked to Elsha, who transformed her own suit back into her regular purple dress.
"I thought that lesson would never end." the blonde Pawn replied, stretching. "And it's kinda weird to see you getting so serious with Matsuda and Motohama. Had to try hard not to laugh at their expressions when you threatened them with Raven."
"Getting serious and threatening to sick Raven on them was the only thing I thought would work." Roxas replied. "Nothing else seems to. It's a wonder that no-one's started a petition to have them kicked out, or at least seriously punished."
"Yeah." Elsha replied. "Maybe someone can put a word in with Sona whenever she's not dealing with that Gaji kid, or whatever his name was."
"Saji." Roxas corrected her. "And yeah, I might try that." He shrugged. "In the meantime, let's get back to the apartment. I asked everyone to meet up there around now so I could tell them all at once about what's gonna be going on."
One transportation-circle later, and Roxas and Elsha were warped to the living/dining room of Roxas' Kuoh apartment, which most of Roxas and Valian's peerages were already situated at: Venelana was sat at the table, reading something, Palutena was sat on one of the couches and talking with Jeanne, Akasha and Akeno were sat on the other couch and watching a show on TV, Kuroka was curled up on a rug on the floor, Shyelin, Catora and Katerea were stood up and to the side, waiting to be asked to do something, Ingvild was grabbing something to drink from the refrigerator, Valian, Esdeath, Neo and Lavinia were sat on conjured-up chairs, with Neo... eating ice-cream.
"Hey, all." Roxas greeted the group of gorgeous women, as he plopped down on the couch next to Palutena, who he shared a kiss with. "Rias and co. not back yet?"
"Nope." Kuroka replied from her position on the floor, before letting out a yawn that Roxas would've expected to hear out of a lion, not a cat (or cat-girl) like her. "Hope they're back soon so you can get this explanation of what you're doing over with. I'm tired."
"You're always tired, Kuroka." Valian replied, coolly. "I swear you spend more time asleep than awake."
"Wouldn't be surprised if that actually were the case." Roxas replied. "Even if the time Kuroka does spend awake is time damn well spent, in my opinion."
Kuroka let out a giggle, and crawled over to Roxas. She then proceeded to rub herself up against his leg, purring lightly as Roxas reached down to gently scratch her behind her ears.
"I know." Kuroka looked up at Roxas, a slightly lustful smile on her face. "Hey, once you're done with whatever you're gonna tell everyone, how about we get out of here and have some fun? Just the two of us, nya~?"
Roxas didn't even have the time to answer Kuroka's proposal as the door to his apartment opened, and Isane, Kiba, Asia, Xenovia, Irina, Rias, Mirajane, Koneko and Gasper (who had begun attending Kuoh Academy as a regular student around the same time as Roxas had become a teacher) walked in.
"Finally..." Kuroka muttered, as the Kuoh Academy students took seats in chairs that Roxas conjured up for them.
"Hey, all." Roxas called everyone in the room to attention. "Sorry I had to gather all twenty-four of you to this apartment that was only brought for five or six people, but I had to get you all here to tell you something important, and I don't want to have to tell you all individually."
Roxas summoned a water-bottle from a magic-circle and took a swig before continuing.
"The thing is, I'm heading to Kyoto with Raven Branwen and the Kuoh second-years." Roxas explained. "Now normally, this wouldn't be too much of a problem, but given that three quarters of my time on that trip will likely consist of me having to concentrate on the façade of being an ordinary science teacher-"
"An extraordinarily hot ordinary science teacher." Rias piped up. "With silver hair."
"-An ordinary science teacher who just happens to be extraordinarily hot and have silver hair," Roxas casually corrected himself. "And the other one quarter will likely be spent sleeping, I won't be able to manage matters relating to the supernatural as quickly and as easily as I usually do. So..." he took a breath, and took another swig of water. "After I'm off on the train to Kyoto tomorrow morning, by this timezone, I'm leaving Venelana and Valian in charge of matters that I'd usually take care of for the next four days, starting tomorrow."
Venelana looked up from whatever she was reading, and nodded. Valian did the same, and was the first to stand up.
"That all?" she asked. "Because I ordered something online and I don't want to miss it arriving at the villa."
"Yeah, that's it." Roxas replied. "You can leave, if you want."
"Got it." Valian nodded, opening a transport-circle for herself and leaving through it. Akeno, from her place on her chair, giggled.
"I hope you're not too lonely in Kyoto, Roxas." she remarked, licking her lips. "Without certain servants of yours to service you in the ways that I might know best~"
Roxas let out a chuckle of his own as he stood up and stretched.
"I think I'll be alright, Akeno." the top Nephalem replied, as he felt Kuroka (who was still extremely close to his leg) getting up and wrapping her arms around his waist, pressing her impressive bust against his chest.
"Not a fan of your claim that you're the best at pleasuring Roxas, Akeno..." Kuroka gave a small pout. "I like to think I'm better at certain aspects of mating than at least most of the girls here. You amongst them."
"Is that a challenge, Kuroka?" Akeno raised an eyebrow, her flirty expression becoming slightly harder as she did so. "Because, not to insult you, but I think I'd win."
"If you're going to challenge each other regarding how to make my love feel good," Esdeath spoke up, standing up and folding her arms underneath her own impressive rack, pushing them up and making them look slightly bigger than they already were. "Then I think I'll get involved, too. Even if only to prove that you're both wrong, and I'm the best in bed with Roxas."
The two black-haired women both glared at Roxas' bluenette Rook with equal intensity, but Esdeath didn't back down. A grin that looked mostly sexual but bordered on slightly sadistic began to form on her face as she felt the hostility positively flying off of Akeno and Kuroka.
"Alright, how about this?" Roxas pulled away from Kuroka and stepped between her, Akeno and Esdeath, doing his best to diffuse the situation before it got any worse. "We all go to my room, and we all fuck. I'll decide who's best out of the three of you who's best, without there having to be a fight and this entire town being levelled because of it."
"Yes, please don't fight in here." Venelana remarked, slightly absent-mindedly as she went back to reading whatever she was reading. "We just had new carpets put in."
Kuroka, Akeno and Esdeath all looked between each other for a second or two, before they all silently nodded.
"Sounds fair to me." Esdeath spoke, her expression becoming less sadistic-looking but losing none of the competitive edge Roxas knew she had.
"Agreed." Akeno replied, grabbing onto one of Roxas' hands and beginning to pull him towards his bedroom. "Come on, let's get to it~"
"Nya~" Kuroka grabbed onto Roxas' other hand and pulled him away as well, as everyone else chuckled lightly while they began to leave... with one exception.
Shirone (who had her cat-ears and tail out) looked down at her chest (which was washboard-levels of flat, even without comparing herself to anyone else in the room, let alone the super-busty women like Valian and Catora), and then back at where Roxas had been dragged away by her older sister, a small blush forming on her face.
After a moment, the sound of the opening and closing of a door could be heard. A few seconds after that, the sound of clothes being removed could be heard, closely followed by the beginnings of a low moan from Roxas, before the sound was sharply cut out, as if someone had placed soundproofing spells around Roxas' room.
Sighing to herself, Shirone slid off the chair that had been made for her, and disappeared through a transportation-circle.
Little bit shorter than some of my more recent chapters, but that's okay. Eight to eight-and-a-half thousand's the average number of words per chapter I write for this fic, anyway. Either way, that's the forty-fifth chapter of Nephalem done: we got some training with our two resident sexy Dragon Empresses, upgrades for Roxas' guns, the promise of more Pit and Pittoo, and with the end of this chapter you can consider the Kyoto arc of this story finally begun. It's gonna be a banger, I promise!
Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed this chapter! Whether you did or you didn't, please leave a review and let me know, because I really do love hearing feedback of all kinds. If you fancy letting me know about some possible ideas you might hae for later in the story, or just have questions for me (because I'll be happy to answer them), let me know in a review, drop me a PM or hit me up on Discord (name for it is on my profile)... preferably the latter, because fuck this site's PM system.

"Somehow I feel that part of the reason you're interested in having a child with my husband is because of the copious amounts of sex that would go into it." Palutena replied, in a deadpan tone, as she looked Aphrodite up and down.
Seeya!
