Well I'm finally back with an update on this story. Thank you so much for all the feedback and follows on this story. I can't thank you all personally but thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Okay so nobody actually guess who's at the door so I think I have an honest to god plot twist here *grin*. I'm not going to have much to say here other than I took a character that we only saw once on the show and I'm making her my own...much like I did with Lorna in Shattered Worlds so she's not canon.
Oh and I know Jo's a bit emotional here...but it really is all the pregnancy hormones.
Author's Note at the bottom.
Thank you again!

Chapter 24
"You're dead…we killed you," Sam said in shock as he stared at the woman in front of him.
"Obviously it didn't stick," the woman taunt as she eyed the younger Winchester. "You're looking good Sam…I see the demon blood is completely out of your system."
"Who is it Sammm…son of bitch," Dean hissed as he pulled the gun he had tucked against his back and aimed it the woman in the doorway.
"You do know that normal bullets won't really kill me," Tammi Fenton reminded the elder Winchester.
"Good thing Lucille is loaded with witch killing bullets," Rufus sneered as he cocked his gun and aimed it at the witch's head.
"Kill me and you kill your best chance at taking out Samhain and stopping the rising of Lucifer and the beginning of the apocalypse," she told them calmly as she looked past the men and saw Jo and Ellen standing beside Bobby. "Is that chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting?" She asked as she pushed past the men to join the women.
"You stay away from her!" Dean shouted as he grabbed the witch by her arm.
She turned and looked at him, "I'm here to help…honest. I have no intention of harming any of you."
"Why should we believe you?" Sam asked as he stood between the witch and Jo.
"Because of what Astaroth did to me," she hissed.
Dean raised his eyebrows at her comment and exchanged a look with Sam who shrugged his shoulders. Tammi may be a witch but she was also a woman and they knew in a way she had been violated.
"Not letting you anywhere near my wife and…" Dean said.
"Really…you do realize if I wanted to hurt her I would have done it already."
Bobby stepped forward, "if you're really here to help then you won't mind if I get out a little necklace for you."
"Necklace?" Dean asked in confusion.
"Yeah a nice witchcatcher," he told him as he disappeared into the den and came back out a few moments later.
Jo swallowed when she saw the iron collar and gasping when she saw the seven iron spikes on the inside of the collar. "Bobby you can't be serious…that's a torture device."
Ellen put a hand on Jo's shoulder, "it won't kill her, it will harness her powers."
"It's disgusting," Jo argued.
"I'll put it on," Tammi told them. The older woman was right, it wouldn't kill her…it would hurt like hell but wouldn't kill her.
The hunters watched as Bobby crossed over and snapped the collar on the newcomer and Jo shook her head slightly when the other woman winced and saw the trickling of blood that seeped out from beneath where the spikes were located.
"Now do you want to listen to me so that we can stop the rising of Samhain and the apocalypse or not?" She asked heatedly.
Jo turned and walked out of the room. Dean looked over at Ellen and she jerked her head in the direction her daughter went and he followed Jo into the kitchen.
"Maggie hungry?" He teased hoping to lift her mood.
Jo turned and looked at Dean, "not funny."
Dean sighed, "Jo she's a witch."
"I know and I know containing her powers is the logical thing to do," she admitted as she sat down.
"Then what's wrong?"
"This is our second wedding Dean. The first Sam wasn't there because you two had a fight when you found out that he was drinking demon blood and tonight a witch shows up on our doorstep and we put a mid-evil torture device on her…I'm starting to think someone is trying to tell us something."
Dean looked at his wife and sighed, "Jo I hate this too...I do."
"I know you do. We haven't been in our home 24 hours yet and it's already shrouded in darkness…well more darkness than normal for us." She murmured as she rubbed her hand along her stomach.
Dean reached out and settled his hand over Jo's, "you know I don't want to start our life together in our new home to be shrouded in darkness."
"Of course I know that. I'm sorry I'm being so emotional…we don't have time…" Jo began to say.
"Don't. Don't pretend this isn't important Jo," Dean told her firmly. He had grown up with that attitude, 'if we don't talk about it…it'll go away' and that had always bit them on the ass. He wasn't going to have a marriage like that.
Jo gazed into Dean's eyes, "do you believe she's on the up and up? Does she have a legitimate reason to want to stop this?"
"Astaroth screwed her over big time…I'm guessing if Samhain and Lucifer are set free it might not be the best thing for her. She didn't seem to appreciate being a demon's meat suit the first time around." He admitted.
"So we all have a common goal right?"
Dean took a deep breath as he slowly nodded his head, "yeah…that I do believe."
"And if we do decide to work with her then we'll need her powers to help track down the other witches," she reasoned.
Dean watched his wife's face for a few seconds before he turned and headed back into the living room as Jo slowly followed him.
"What's in this for you if we decide to take you up on your offer?" He asked as he stood in front of Tammi.
The witch rolled her eyes, "you hunters really think humans are the only ones who would suffer if this apocalypse happened, don't you? This fallout will devastate all of us…humans and supernatural creatures…and the ones who survive will be nothing but slaves for either the demons or the angels...and I've already lived one lifetime as a slave…I won't be one again."
Dean swallowed as he asked, "you mean to another demon?"
The woman laughed bitterly, "no I mean slave...as in I was born in 1786 on a plantation in Louisiana…so yes I mean slave as in I was a white man's property."
"Oh," Dean murmured. He knew witches could live hundreds of years but he had never thought about their human lives before they became one.
Jo stared at the woman in shock, "how did you become a witch?"
"I was tired of having a white man controlling me…raping me. When I was fourteen I became pregnant by my master. I had four children by him by the time I was twenty-one…the same year he sold me to another plantation owner…because I had the audacity to ask that our oldest son be allow to train in the livery instead of being a laborer in the fields."
"And he...he umm..." Sam stammered.
"Sold me...yes he sold me to Manuel Andry."
"Wait, you belonged to Manuel Andry?" Rufus asked in shock.
"I did and it was there I met Charles Deslondes."
"The Andry plantation is where the 1811 slave revolt began and Charles Deslondes was the man who organized the slaves," Rufus explained to the others.
"It was and I was the go between the house servants and the field servants but I was pregnant with my fifth child and decided not to follow the others."
"Was he the father of the child you were expecting...Charles Deslondes" Jo asked.
"No…not Charles...it was his friend Thomas...we became close when I would meet with him to tell what was happening in the house so that Charles could plan when the uprise."
Rufus shook his head in wonderment as he asked, "if you didn't follow the others, what did you do?"
"I made my way to New Orleans to the French Quarters where I met a woman named Sianna, she was a gens de couleur libres and the mistress of Phillip Pierre."
"A gens de couleur libres?" Sam repeated questioningly.
"Free person of color," Dean said as he shrugged his shoulders when the others looked at him. "What…it was in an Anne Rice book."
Tammi smirked at the older Winchester before continuing. "After I gave birth to my daughter Katrina I became Sianna private servant and it was then she began teach me the craft they worshipped in Haiti."
"And you became a witch?" Jo asked.
"A voodoo priestess," she corrected Jo.
"But you're not a voodoo priestess, you're a witch," Ellen argued.
"What changed?" Jo asked. A voodoo priestess was one thing…they weren't necessarily evil…some were good people but a witch was a whole other beast.
Tammi snorted, "a man."
"Ahhh," Ellen and Jo murmured at the same time to the men amusement.
"His name was Marcel Pierre and he was Philip's older brother. We began an affair and at first he was kind not only to me but to my Katrina but one day he overheard Sianna and I talking and he learned I was an escaped slave. He planned to return me to the Andry plantation."
"How did you find out?" Sam asked.
"His driver Thomas, he told me. It was Thomas who also introduced me to my original coven. They helped prepare a hex bag that caused Marcel to have a deadly riding accident before he had a chance to tell anyone about me."
"So this Thomas brought you into the coven?" Ellen asked torn between the horror the other woman was living through at that time and the realization that she couldn't help but understand how she let her be drawn into that life.
Tammi laughed, "no Astaroth brought me into the coven…he was using Thomas as his vessel at the time. Of course I didn't find that out until I had signed my faith to the coven that worship him."
"He tricked you," Jo murmured as she thought about everything that other woman was telling them.
"I didn't have to make that choice but I did," Tammi admitted. "I won't lie to you I liked the power and I embraced the dark arts. I decided to leave New Orleans and travel north we I could be free."
"Katrina?" Bobby questioned.
For the first time since starting to tell her story she had hesitated before explaining. "I couldn't travel with a child. I gave her to Sianna. She could raise her as her own. It was a privilege she had as a gens de couleur libres."
Jo gasped as her hand instinctively went to her baby bump. "Did you ever see her or your other children again?"
Tammi gave her a sad smile, "no. Sianna became a merchant's mistress and lived a comfortable life. Three of my older children died in slavery, my youngest son James lived to be freed after the war. Him and my grandchildren who were born into slavery were all freed."
Sam looked at the witch and finally asked the question that was still bothering him, "say we believe everything you just told us, it still doesn't explain how you're here. We killed you."
Tammi shrugged her shoulders slightly, "I may have a few resurrection seals tucked away."
"Resurrection seals?" Jo questioned.
Bobby snorted, "serious black magic. Basically it's a version of a hex bag literally sawn in sewn into the body. Isn't one of the items needed an infant heart?" He asked, wanting the others to understand completely what they were able to deal with.
Tammi narrowed her eyes at the older hunter, "I haven't lied or denied anything and I certainly am not looking for forgiveness. We call a truce and team up as a one-time deal. After we stop Samhain and prevent these damn angels and demons from taking our world then we can go back to normal."
"You do know that eventually when you don't have anymore resurrection seals to cheat death that you will be going to Hell and you will become a demon yourself...not just one's meatsuit. Aren't you screwing yourself over?" Ellen asked.
"True but then I will be in charge of myself still...not a slave under one. Trust me there is a huge difference." She admitted.
Dean looked over at Jo and then at his brother, both nodding their heads in silent agreement. With turning his he called over his shoulder, "Bobby take it off of her."
"What?" The three older hunters cried.
Dean shot the witch a warning glare before looking at his surrogate father, "she could have lied…instead she placed all her cards on the table face up. I don't like working with her either but we only have one shot at stopping this and if it means working with her what choice do we have."
"Dean's right Bobby. We never consider what would happen to the supernatural beings other than the demons. They have just as much to lose as the humans. As much as I hate saying it, we really do have a common goal." Sam reasoned.
"And she volunteered to put the witchcatcher on," Jo added.
Rufus and Ellen each cocked an eyebrow as if to say, 'your decision' and Bobby huffed as he went over and inserted the key into the device while mumbling, "yeah like this isn't gonna bite us in the ass."
Tammi winced as Bobby none too gently removed the device. Once the item was removed she reached up and touched one of the wounds the spikes had made. "I don't like it either…but I'm willing to put our differences beside to prevent Samhain from being raised."
"Right…we're just one big happy family," Dean said as he stood next to Jo and placed a protective arm around her shoulders well giving the witch a warning glare.
Tammi cocked a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at the protective husband and father to be before saying, "seriously…isn't anyone going to cut me a piece of cake?"
TBC
A/N Okay did anyone see Tammi making an appearance? Sorry I know Rowena is the go to witch in SPN but they hadn't even met Crowley yet so I wanted somebody completely different. Now I researched it a bit but I didn't see anything saying Tammi wasn't a witch before she was possess by Astaroth...maybe he was a little pissed she left him trapped behind Samuel Colt's devil gate all that time.
Also I did a little research into Andry plantation and Charles Deslondes. I didn't want to make Tammi a major player in this historic event out of respect but I needed a back story for her. If you aren't familiar with Charles Deslondes story in history please read it...he is an important figure that should never be forgotten.
Thank you again and I hope people enjoyed this part!
