Chapter 42: Moving Forward with New Changes Along the Way.

The city of Vale was slumbering as the people thanked another peaceful night. There was no grand scale violence, no monsters to eat people, no massive fire to imprison them, and there was no sound of screams of death and terror.

And as usual, tonight, the Spider watched over them in the hours of darkness.

(TWIP)

It was 04:23 AM at the Parker household when Spider-Man entered his room via window. After stopping several bad guys who were trying to steal from anything that wasn't bolted to the ground at a shopping center, the webhead decided to stop not because of sleep, but because of how hungry he is.

'Strange how I don't feel the least bit tired after all of that. Just starved.' Taking off his costume, Jaune made his way to the bathroom to have a quick shower to wash away another day's worth of sweat. Afterward, he put on a simple white shirt and boxers then headed down stairs to the kitchen. 'Aunt May won't mind if I raid the fridge.'

Jaune stopped midstep and stayed still as he listened for any noise coming from Aunt May's room.

"..."

Hearing nothing, he continues to the kitchen and opens the fridge, Jaune only saw some fruits and some cold pizza slices from last week's take out with other assortments that Aunt May cooked. Not wanting to risk waking Mrs. Parker up, Jaune chose to just eat the pizza cold and then take half of some fruit which was an apple, 3 bananas, and some sliced watermelon.

'Three days. I've been stuck being Spider-Man for three days helping anyone that I can. What surprises me most though is that I haven't been getting a proper sleep cycle or any sleep at all.'

Jaune always complained that doing night patrols were hindering his sleep and now here he was feeling no fatigue whatsoever.

"This can't be normal." Jaune scoffed after he said that. "What am I saying? Normal was long since lost to me the moment I left my home. Whatever is happening to me, I can't keep this up. I need to sleep, at least a few hours to actually let my body rest."

Cleaning up his mess and going back to his room, Jaune flopped face first into his bed.

Its soft fabric of the blanket brushing against his skin, the blond hero could start to feel the effects of his body finally relaxing after days of constant movement.

"Close your eyes, relax your body, and your mind will drift to sleep." Jaune groaned, his eyelids started to be too heavy to keep up. Only when turning his body to have him look at the ceiling did his eyes landed to his pet spider, Itsy.

"You, I completely forgot the last time I fed you." Jaune did remember that when he was looking up sites on how to feed your pet spider, they usually say that food is not really a constant for them, so long as they get proper hydration. "Glad I'm still a responsible owner and gave you some water. Have you've grown? You look bigger. I'll make sure to get you a bigger home. Until then, keep getting big and strong. Goodnight, Itsy."

Sleep finally captured the hero and the room was finally quiet with the only one still awake was Jaune's pet spider.

"Grown…"

"Gr...ow..n"

"Grow"

"Big...and… str…ong"

"Grow… big and…strong…"

"I think I've grown taller." That was his first sentence when he woke up.

Jaune was doing his regular routine of getting up in the morning, head to the bathroom and look in the mirror to see that he was indeed still living in the real world.

And just like in the real world, Jaune was starting to see some changes happening to not only Remnant, but to himself, too.

"I know I've grown taller." Taking a step back to get a full view of himself in the reflection. "I was already 6ft tall," Seeing himself in the mirror, Jaune had to lower his body to get his whole body in the mirror. "Now, I look like I grew more than half an inch taller."

'Mom always told me that I'm a growing boy, but I'm pretty sure she didn't expect me to be taller than dad when I haven't even reached my 20s!' Lifting his arms and flexing he could also see more definition in his arms and all the way down to his waist. 'I had that lean muscle form and now I looked like I started living in a gym for months with the only food being protein bars!'

Since he got bitten by that spider, Jaune always made sure to look himself over to see if there were any side effects. Things like extra eyes on his forehead, excessive hair, or even something bizarre like extra limbs.

So far, Jaune kept winning the genetic lottery by getting powers that weren't of the heteromorphic variety. Yet now, getting even taller and more muscles, the young hero can only assume that his body was going through another evolution.

"Was this because of my fight with Adam? That was the toughest fight I've ever experienced. After that day, I started to feel something off about myself." Jaune checked himself out for a few more seconds.

'Staying half naked and thinking about this won't get me any results.' Cleaning himself up and getting dressed up with his usual ensemble of running shoes, faded jeans, and a red shirt under his signature Pumpkin Pete hoodies. Jaune walked out of his room and made his way downstairs where he was greeted by the scent of Aunt May's cooking.

"Morning, Aunt May!" Jaune smiled when the lady of the house turned to face him.

"Good Morning, Jaune~!" She said in her usual upbeat tone. "You're just in time to eat my first batch of wheat cakes."

"Can't wait!" Jaune went to one of the cabinets that had the plates and started to set up the table for two. Just as he set out the silver wear, Aunt May placed a small stack of wheat cakes on his plate and another stack on her own.

Not yet finished setting up breakfast, Aunt May also placed some scrambled eggs and bacon she made before Jaune entered the kitchen. With the full breakfast now complete, the two finally sat down, made a quick prayer, and started to chow down.

Only after getting two bites into his food did Aunt May started to talk to him about Rito.

"Have you gotten any messages from him?" She asked. "I know he said that he returned back to his village and all, but I still worry about him."

"He's doing good, Aunt May." That was the truth, since Rito was now back to his dimension safe and sound with his friends and family.

Speaking about Rito's friends, thanks to one of them being a mad genius, Jaune was able to go back to his home dimension with Rito along, too. Thanks to the D-Dial of his working now, Rito was able to come to Jaune's world and made his goodbyes to Aunt May telling her that he was planning to go back home to his village and leave Vale. If Rito decided to leave the same day that the Breach happened, then it would have caused some stress to Aunt May about losing someone and Jaune wasn't sure he could lie either.

Jaune was sure if people, especially Whitley, who is another fellow hero, would call Jaune mad to not take the time to explore Rito's world. He thought about it, he really did want to experience this knew universe like how Rito experienced Remnant. Yet the blonde spider had to deal with what was happening at Vale and disappearing for too long could cause some unneeded problems. Most importantly was sending Roman back too, now in prison who is not guarded by regular prison guards, but by professional Atlas soldiers onboard their flag ship.

'Thank goodness I found Qrow when I returned from Rito's world. He was able to take Roman to custody and for me to get away in time before the authorities could try and arrest me.'

After their breakfast was done, Jaune cleaned up the table, washed the dishes, and when leaving the plates out to dry, the young hero decided it was time to head out.

"I'll be going now, Aunt May!" Jaune Arc shouted as he was about to leave the house. "I'm going to be with Eddie and Gwen today! I'll see you later!"

"Be careful, Jaune!" Aunt May shouted back from the kitchen. Getting ready to leave the house and help F.E.A.S.T as more people who lost their homes started to flock towards the shelter. "I might not be home before you. Mr. Li needs all the helps he needs, so feel free to get take out, ok?"

"I will! Take care!" Closing the door on his way out. Jaune was greeted by the sight of the early morning sun rising to greet the kingdom of Vale. Grateful that the Breach was only in the deeper parts of the city and not near the residential districts. But Jaune can see how the Breach still effected the neighborhood as he could still feel the weight of what happened still affecting everyone.

"Remember the Breach." Jaune muttered what he read on a poster that was plastered onto a light post. Passing it by the side walk, Jaune didn't have to wait to see the same poster show up again as a second light post had one too. Electric posts had them stapled, houses had picket signs, and even cars have some had yard signs with the same phrase of words.

'Remember the Breach' was a day that made people realize that they were not safe from the Grimm. That the walls that separates them from the wild can still find a way to reach them and to make them experience how helpless they are when facing such a threat that has been the bane of humanity.

A dark reminder on how some forget that life in Remnant was never really easy and that having a small sense of safety can be taken away.

Lives were lost from the Grimm attack, some were missing and found days later dead, but as much as Jaune hated to admit it, things went far better than expected.

If Jaune didn't discover what the White Fang was doing at Mt Glenn, then there could have been more collateral damage and even more enemies taking more lives. If he didn't let Qrow know about what the White Fang was planning and decided to do things by himself, then he would have been outmanned at trying to stop them all by himself would not only cost him his life, it would have taken more lives in Vale too.

In short, any choices that lead to him doing this by himself would lead to unnecessary death.

The results couldn't be any better. Spider-Man discovered their plans, Qrow told his boss, Atlas and huntsmen went to Mt Glenn to stop what the White Fang was planning. What was most impressive was when things started to go to heck from the surprise explosions and fire trapping some of the city. Huntsmen and Atlas military were still able to rescue as many civilians while at the same time prevent the Grimm from overwhelming the kingdom.

Not to mention gaining a major approval boost from the public as they were grateful for being saved by a different kingdoms military and the Huntsmen who risked their lives. People now started to remember why they were needed making the Huntsmen community get the respect and appreciation they deserve.

For Spider-Man, it seemed to have been a mixed opinion.

"I told you! I told you Spider-Man is a menace!" J. Jonah Jameson screamed from the TV that was set up placed near the open window of some electronic store that Jaune walked by. Some people were watching it from the sidewalk and remained silent and listened to J.J speak to whoever was interviewing him.

"We have proof! Actual proof! That Spider-Man not only assaulted innocent people while the real heroes, Huntsmen and Atlas soldiers, were fighting to save humanity. He was also caught red handed when officers were on the scene and witnessed him about to murder a Councilmen of Vale!"

Jaune was already away from the TV to not hear the rest of this nonsense, yet as he continued to walk along the street, Jaune came across some other store. This time it was a local deli/liquor store, with a TV moved to the outside where a small handful of customers were watching the same channel.

"Mr. Jameson," The voice came from a female reporter just across from him was none other than Lisa Lavender who gave J.J a neutral expression to show that she did not agree nor disagree with his statement. "While it is true that we received numerous eye witness reports of civilians seeing Spider-Man attack people."

"Don't forget video evidence too!" Jaune hated how pleased J.J sounded. "We can show the footage, correct?"

"Yes, hold on, dear viewers, we'll show you what the recorded footage was during the time of the breach."

A second after Lisa said that, the screen shifted to the security feed of Spider-Man, Jaune's hero persona, enter the building that housed Adam and his group, where different video shots showed him going through each floor. All seemed normal, but then it started to show the real 'evidence' of Spider-Man attacking people. People that were 'coincidentally' angled to where they were only seen after they were knocked out to the floor by the webhead. The screen then shifted back to Lisa and J.J with the added bonus of several shots of the people Spider-Man 'brutalized'.

"When the police arrived to see Spider-Man leave the crime scene. People who were able to escape the building told officers that Spider-Man assaulted multiple victims and asked questions about the whereabouts of Mr. Williams. A 39-year-old who held the seat of the council for over a decade, who was in critical condition when police arrived, but is now no longer in danger as he is safely in recovering in the hospital." The pictures of the 'victims' were moved away to show a hospital with a dozen police cars guarding the building.

"We see that the authorities are protecting the building and we have been told by Captain George Stacy, a veteran officer of Vale, that he's also getting help from Huntsmen who willingly volunteered without any form of compensation that shows a budding trust and respect between the police force and Huntsmen alike."

As Lisa was going over some other bonuses of the aftermath of what happened when the Grimm invaded the city such as polls having a 60% of people favoring Huntsmen. She also showed a poll of the public opinion of Spider-Man being only around 40% when before the breach the hero had around 90% public favoritism.

Jaune was a little relieved to know there are people who still trust him. He's even more thankful that without Rito's help stepping in as Spider-Man, then Jaune was sure the chances of him being liked as Spider-Man would be up in smokes.

"Now, as you can see, Mr. Jameson. The approval of Huntsmen has indeed increased since they repelled against the Grimm and saved many lives and even made sure to keep property damage to a minimum. However, you can still see that there are some who haven't forgotten what happened months earlier when we discovered students from Beacon, whose names we are not allowed to use due to them still being minors, were discovered causing chaos and almost ending multiple lives when fighting a... what was it again?"

Lisa looked away from the camera and then turned back to face the viewers.

"A giant Atlas mech piloted by Roman. So not only do people still remember that Beacon has students who broke several laws, we also can see how even the Atlas military can be breached themselves. I'm even more concerned that Atlas has such terrifying military weapons in their possessions that opens an even bigger possibility for a chance that Roman or other criminal organizations might have them too."

"Now, Ms. Lisa. Don't forget that due to the actions of those brave and resourceful students that the police were also able to arrest the White Fang who was recruiting many people to joining to terrorist operations." J.J looked like he was trying to remain professional towards the anchorwoman, but Jaune knows his boss well enough that J.J was holding back his enraged rants so he won't cause a scene while on live television.

"I also didn't forget that thanks to Spider-Man, Beacon didn't suffer too much backlash from the countless families whose lives were almost ended thanks to the school's reckless students." Even when Lisa was giving J.J a neutral look, Jaune couldn't help but hear her voice showing some defiance against J.J's claim of Spider-Man being a criminal. "But let's get back on track, shall we? Now, during the time during the outbreak, there were several eyewitnesses witnessing Spider-Man repelling the Grimm. The last time people saw him was when he saved a train full of passengers before he left them."

"The police car dash cam showed Spider-Man leave the scene of his crimes aligned with his disappearance after he 'helped' people." J.J looked serious as he concocted whatever lucid interpretation of the evidence before him. "What I believe is that he was just showing himself to have an alibi, leave when everything was getting under control, and tried to assassinate Mr. Williams only to fail and was found red handed."

As Lisa was again trying to defend Spider-Man's good name, Jaune shifted his attention on what the people of Vale had to say about all this. Some were talking about while staying close to the TV and other were talking while walking past Jaune, but the blond can pick out what all of them were saying.

"You think he actually tried to kill someone from the Council?"

"Don't know why he would. I heard that Mr. Williams was actually really liked compared to the other representatives. Just can't really think of why Spider-Man would do such a thing."

"I want to believe Spider-Man didn't do it, but they have a lot of evidence against the guy."

"Maybe it's a conspiracy?"

"I heard the same group of Huntsmen who almost killed people were also taking part in stopping things from getting worse. Still don't think we should all forget what they did."

"I know what you're talking about! The papers said they also stopped the White Fang from ramming a train full of explosives underground from MT Glenn! I think I also read that Beacon and Atlas also took part in stopping them as well."

"You think Spider-Man helped them? I mean, he could also be the one that helped set up those explosives."

"Guy was weird to begin with, and seeing him do all that just proves he's more than we thought he was."

No longer seeing anymore reason to stay in one spot, Jaune continued his walk down the sidewalk where he passed by many buildings that still had caution tapes wrapped around them to tell people that the city is still working on fixing some damages. While some places did get lucky in having their place of business safe for them to continue make a living, those who were unlucky had completely lost their place of income for the time being.

Despite the loss of jobs and some homes, people still tried their best to live their life and to pick up whatever they can salvage. At the same time, it gave others a chance to profit off of the situation such as Oscorp who is now gaining more workers and buying out buildings that previous owners couldn't afford to repair giving the large corporation more influence in the city.

"This place seems good enough." Stopping at a secluded area that was blocked off by the rest of the public for construction. Jaune removed his hoodie to reveal a part of his hero costume underneath his civilian attire. He removed his last piece of clothing and stashed them away in a makeshift web bag that was then buried underneath a pile of rubble so that people passing by can't find it. "Now, one last change and it's all complete."

What Jaune meant was that his signature piece of his hero costume, the sleeveless blue hoodie with his spider symbol, was his Pumpkin Pete hoodie that was sewn on the inside. Removing the hoodie, flipping it inside out to show the blue side, and rolling up the sleeves, and putting it back on and the finished product was the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

"Glad I decided to make my costume more efficient by using the hoodies I already have and not just buying blue hoodies and ripping the sleeves off." It was an idea that dawned on him when he was patching up his original blue hoodie after it got ripped up when he helped someone that was almost ran over by a driver. His blue hoodie that he used was already starting to fade and the patches and stiches can do so much until it resembled more of a bluish rag then an actual hoodie. "Costume is all set, normal clothes hidden."

Pulling his mask over his head, Spider-Man leaped high into the air, shot out a web line to a light post, and started to swing around the city. Whenever he has eyes in the sky, Spider-Man would always enjoy the fast pace sights below him as well as around him if he decided to swing lower, but now as he looked below, Spider-Man can still see the scars that was left in the city. Most notably the dark, burnt markings that was left after the fire. It was like Vale itself was branded with a mark that everyone can see from above and Spider-Man wasn't sure how long it'll take before the city can recover to its normal state.

"Despite the injuries, Vale isn't looking weak." Letting go of his web and letting gravity take a hold of him, Spider-Man plunged down back to the city street and just as he was only 14 feet away from leaving a crater did his spider sense kick in and his arm quickly ejected a web line that slowed his decent then soon rocketed him back up into the air. "People are trying to get back to their normal lives, Atlas is showing kindness by having their military give out relief aids, and even the Vytal festival will still be happening to not only show their unwavering determination to show Vale is still strong. It's also a way to gain revenue, too."

Holding the web line, the spider hero extended the organic webbing until he was gliding through traffic, weaving past each car like he was passing students in a tight hallway to get to the next class. Getting low enough to having his legs touching the road, Spider-Man's legs started to move as he lowered himself onto the road, and when his body finally landed did the hero show his speed.

'Looks like I'm fast enough to keep up with some cars.' Spider-Man thought to himself as he was matching the pace of a van that had a family inside it. 'Still not fast enough. I know I can run faster, just like when I was fast enough to reach Rito.'

"Hm?" Spider-Man noticed that the family that was in the car was gawking at him. The father was trying to looking in front of him while also taking glances at the hero, while the mom and kids were taking pictures of the him. "What!? You never saw a guy use their Chevrolegs before?!"

'Since I'm fast to keep up with a soccer mom van, let's see if I'm fast enough to catch up to a sports car.'

"You guys enjoy your day!" A small wave to the family and Spider-Man started to push his legs to go even faster. Outrunning the car and several other vehicles in front made him look like a red and blue blur to those with normal eyesight. 'This is the same feeling I got when I ran across the city to reach Rito. The cars around me seem so slow compared to me that I don't even think some could even beat me. Is this how Ruby feels when she uses her semblance?'

Spider-Man's view around him was like web swinging, only with running he didn't have to use his webs to get around everywhere and use gravity to make him go faster.

'I always knew that my physical abilities would alter, but have I once tried something like this? No, not since I discovered a more convenient way to travel. I never really pushed myself at running, only when I fight, I use short, fast sprints to close the distance.' Only now, after fighting Adam and almost losing his life did Spider-Man realize how he was wasting his potential. 'With how fast I was going, I wonder if how many times I saved a person just because I was in the 'nick of time', when in reality I could have been there a lot sooner. I wonder… if I realized I could do more than this… would I have been fast enough to save Denny?'

Thoughts of the past surfaced into the front of Spider-Man's head and as he was drowning in his own guilt of what could have been, he was unaware that the road he was running on was reaching a four-way intersection. The road he was on had the traffic light turn red, signaling the cars to stop, but since he wasn't paying attention he kept running and was almost run over by a semi-truck.

The semi was just close enough to have Spider-Man feel the heat radiating from the large truck's grill, but Spider-Man used his legs to do another amazing feat.

Blood rushed to Spider-Man's legs making them bulge with muscle and veins through his costume, and with a simple bend in the knees, Spider-Man jumped 30 feet into the air! Dodging the semi and landing on the side of an apartment building, Spider-Man stopped his self-loathing, looked down, and saw people looking at him with surprise and astonishment at Spider-Man's actions.

"I should probably start my day." Web swinging away from his spot, Spider-Man now focused back on his plan.

What is his plan? Simple, to clear his good name.

Fall was already ending and by the time the breach happened, the school decided to start a school break early, or in some students terms, 'extended vacation from education'. Aunt May was told by the staff of the school that they would start the second semester around 2 months after December ends on the account that they needed time to repair some damages for the school.

Eddie and Gwen used that time to help Dr. Connors with more on his research that was coming along on a much faster pace now that the two senior students have more time on their hands. Harry and his family are using it to visit Vacuo to strengthen their family bonds after the events that happened when the Grimm attacked, but Harry only scoffed at the idea when he knew the real reason was cause he heard his father one night talk on his scroll about trying to land a foot hold in the kingdom and to extended Oscorp business.

Which leaves Jaune Arc to himself the entire winter break and giving him more time to do his job as a reporter for the Daily Bugle and have more time being as Spider-Man.

All day, Spider-Man has helped over a dozen people from lifting heavy debris that was once their homes to salvage their belongings, stopping thieves, stop car accidents, help the occasional lost pet, and the most recent case was saving a kid who was crossing the road from getting hit by a car.

"Thank you, Spider-Man." The young boy's mom shed tears of joy as she lifted her son out of Spider-Man's arms. "What did I tell you about playing without telling me, Tony?! Say 'thank you' to Spider-Man, dear."

"You stink, Spider-Man." The boy didn't show any hesitation to state the obvious to the webhead.

"What did I just say?!" The mother looked at the hero who saved her son and made a small bow with her head. "I'm sorry, Spider-Man. He didn't mean it, he's just really shy with other people."

"Don't worry, Ma'am." Spider-Man can't really deny what the boy said, he could smell how bad his costume smelled. "He's not wrong, I really need to get this thing washed as soon as possible."

Web swinging away from the parent and child, Spider-Man started to notice the sun was slowly coming down and the people of Vale were getting home for the night. Less people meant a shift in crime, giving those who use the night as a good cover for any criminal to try their luck at getting something valuable.

Those were the usual nights Spider-Man gets, but since he's been making more appearances it seemed that those nights of taking down drug dealers, sexual deviants, and purse snatchers were far and few lately. Law enforcement are another major factor too, as they've been pushing more cops to be out at night to keep the piece to show that they have not been crippled by what happened.

"This should be a good pace to try this out." Deciding not to go home to refuel, even though he still felt perfectly fine since morning, Spider-Man was using this free time to be at the city train yard.

Trains have been one of the most heavily relied upon mode of travel for people trying to get from the city to villages or other kingdoms. Planes were faster and convenient, but they also had a chance to be harassed by flying Grimm with the only way for anyone to use air fare was the use of pre-used flight paths that had a low rate of Grimm popping up or had the assistance of the 4 kingdoms to have certain parts of their sovereign air space be monitored by their military.

Trains on the other hand was said to be more secure, it had Huntsmen protecting the people, well, the people who hired them, and it's heavily armored to the point that it can hold out against a pack of Beowolves and even a couple of Ursai.

"Looks like I picked a good spot too." Train yards had certain location where they would take some train cars off the tracks due to it being too damaged to be repaired or because they were out of date. Where he was currently standing, Spider-Man saw some train cars that were busted down, had missing pieces that were being used for working trains, and were particularly no longer a priority. "Ok, which one should I try? This one, maybe?"

Spider-Man was looking at one that was a locomotive that looked to be the most recent addition to the graveyard as it was sporting a destroyed front that looked like it hit the side of a mountain.

"Looking a bit closer. The dent looked like it hit something large and fast. A Grimm maybe? But what kind of Grimm is able to stop a locomotive that is heavily fortified?"

Tossing the idea away, the webhead thought that the first one looked too heavy for him to lift and looked for a different one.

"This one looks to be a good choice." The second choice was a common train car used within the city.

"The local train that travel around the city is around 82,000lbs." Bending his knees and grabbing the side of the heavy locomotive, Spider-Man did the math in his head as he continued to talk. "Converting the pounds to tons and I get 41 tons of weight I'm about to lift."

'Have I ever lifted more than 41 tons?' Was the question going through his brain as he recounted times he needed to rely on brute force. 'I stopped speeding cars, veered a bullhead from crashing, and can break carbonadium, but lifting?'

"Maximum effort." Muttering those words, Spider-Man started to lift the train. At first, the weight didn't register to him as he got half of it off the ground, only when did he attempt to lift the entire thing did he start to feel the weight. "Glad I picked this one to be my first test."

Not wanting to give up so soon, Spider-Man continued to lift the railroad car off the ground. Feeling a wave of determination, he didn't stop from just lifting it off a couple of inches off the ground and continued to get it up higher to the point that it was above his head.

"Oh-oh my god! I did it!" Putting the heavy, man-made cart back down, Spider-Man looked down at his hands in astonishment at the feat he accomplished. "I can't believe I did it! This strength! I can't believe I had this within me the entire time!"

After his test of strength was over, he now placed his right palm flat in the side of the metal coach.

"Just like what happened with Adam." An image of the bull faunus flashed in the front of his mind. "Remember what happened and try to recreate it."

It was hard for him to describe the feeling he went through after such an ordeal. Spider-Man could still remember the pain of being stabbed through the shoulder, the feeling of warmth from the fire, smoke invading his lungs, and the pressure around his neck from Adam strangling him to death.

'At the time, the only thing in my head was staying alive.' His body was suddenly feeling warmer. 'I hated how desperate I felt. It was also very frustrating too! I just wanted to live, to leave and get away, but Adam tried to stop me and then I put my hand on his face and-'

"Ah!" A moment, it was just a small moment that Spider-Man could feel that whatever he did worked as when he removed his hand, he could see his imprint on the metal surface. "A perfect shape, too. All I did was press my hand on it and I didn't use my super strength either."

Reaching out to the handprint, Spider-Man only had his index finger touch the surface only to bring it back quickly.

"It's warm." Just like what happened to Adam, whatever he did caused a reaction of his hands to emit heat strong enough to burn anything he touches. "Not just any heat. It's some kind of energy that can hurt someone who has Aura. Otherwise, Adam, who still had Aura, shouldn't have that burn mark."

"..." Thinking long and hard about this discovery, his reaction to learning this new revelation was to pump his fist into the air. "I got a new super power! Unbelievable!"

A minute of celebrating was beginning to decline as the young hero thought about something that made his mood turn sour.

'I really haven't tried my best to further understand my abilities, have I?'

Spider-Man can admit that he was still green on how to be a hero, but can anyone blame him when he got powers that should only be in comics and not real life? He has no teacher to actually share wisdom and for his entire career as being a vigilante, his only lesson was on the job.

It was like he was relieving puberty, only this time, his puberty was about discovering his body can do more than just simple spider powers.

'And there's also the future that has yet to happen.' The same vision has started to appear to him at random times showing him the same images and ends the same too with something laughing at him. 'Will it happen soon? That question keeps popping up in my head. And I still have no idea how to interpret them too!'

"This is different now." Spider-Man has time now. School was postponed, his job at the Bugle was manageable, and his apparent super endurance can make him last for days without sleep shows how he has no real excuse to use his time to train. "Training here is a good start. This place is far enough away and I think this is also a good time for me to make a schedule too. Yeah, I think I can actually pull this off!"

From here on out, the blond spider would begin his training understand his growth.

"Ok, let the training begin!"

[A/N]

This is the short chapter and it's going to probably be a short chapter in the next one too. I realized that I sometimes go too far off the deep end and I don't want to overflow chapters with words that some might think are unnecessary. I know I left some stuff out, like the other perspective of what happened to MT Glenn, Roman, Neo and Flint Marco, and also about when Jaune gets a new costume, but that was on purpose as that will be brought up in the next chapter.

This chapter was to show Jaune his growth and his realization that training is needed to have him see the limits of his abilities and to learn his new ones too. My reason to have him train is cause I want Jaune to actually try something he hasn't done yet, learn how to use his powers in a more effective way and to also learn how to fight, since the level of danger is starting to escalate. It's even going to be harder too, because Jaune doesn't really fit into any kind of style like the rest of the RWBY cast.

Jaune fights with agility, speed, strength, and a other spider like abilities that make him a good fighter already. But he needs to have a teacher who understand what he's going through to help him understand better.

An example that I have is like Qrow and teaching Ruby how to use a scythe. Or in canon it was Pyrrha teachings regular Jaune how to use a sword and shield. Jaune, with spider powers, would have a much easier time understanding how to fight if there was someone who was similar helping him.

One of Jaune's powers, is in fact a nod to Kaine's 'mark of Kaine', and I will go in to further depth as to why Jaune's is different on the account that it can ignore aura. Same as how Jaune's physic has also changed, for that was also a similar change to all Spider-Man interpretations. Only this time, Jaune was already tall to starts, so after his battle with Adam, who is a beast in the RWBY canon, his body has started to push his biology to help him grow.

Anyway, moving on I would also like to go in depth on what's happening with the rest of the cast of RWBY too. With the next arc leading to the Vytal festival, I would like to have some simple normal time with just Jaune talking to RWBY before they go their separate ways and then coming back to Beacon. So, in a simpler term, I'm just going to do a filler arc.

[Omake: Strings that leads to you]

"I'm late! I'm Late! I'm Late!" How was it possible he was able to plan his morning routine to have minutes to spare, yet is running late for his train ride!? "Of course, I didn't account for traffic! This is what I get, I'm so dumb."

Just another busy day in Mistral central train station and this particular man was running late for his job. Speaking about running late, the train he was trying to catch already left right when he made his way downstairs to see it leave him behind.

"Oh no~!" The nameless man clutched his head in despair. "I had an important meeting I had to go to. Now I have to go and call my boss and hope he doesn't replace me with someone else for the meeting!"

Pulling his scroll from his pocket, the middle-aged office worker's luck went even lower as some random stranger shoved him aside without even apologizing making him drop his call device.

"No~!" He bent down to reach it only to once again curse his bad luck as another bystander kicked it away without even noticing. "I'm already late, so why is this happening to me~!"

Kick after kick, people that were also hurrying to reach their train ride ignored the office worker's plea as he continued to chase after his scroll. Finally, as if giving him a moment of mercy, the last person who kicked the scroll made it slide under some table situated away from the bustling crowd.

Extending a hand out to reach under the table cloth a cane appeared out of nowhere and startling the man. "Waah! Huh?"

"It's rude to try and peak under a table when a woman is sitting, you know. And while in public too? My, youth really is bold nowadays." Came a wise, mature woman's voice.

Taking a second to register his dilemma. He now took in his surroundings and realized the type of scenario he's in. From an outside perspective, anybody could see that he looks like he's trying to sneak under the table to look between some woman's legs.

Such a humiliating thought was enough for him to shoot back up in his feet and give the woman a deep bow.

"I'm so sorry, Ma'am!" He said in an even tone just so he can at least show some professionalism. "I didn't mean to disrespect you! What I was trying to do was-huh?"

As he was lifting his upper body from the bow to get a better look at the woman, the desk jockey didn't need to bow to her in the first place.

Because she can't see him bow, the woman was blind.

'Great, I was about to look between a blind woman's legs! Seriously, my luck is at rock bottom!'

Even despite the surprise of her disability, it didn't stop him to notice how good looking the woman was. She was a woman who looked to be around her late 50s, yet her mocha skin still held the healthy complexion of a woman who was reaching her mid-30s. White, long hair was braided to a large pony tail making it clash against her skin giving her a look of a mature woman who has experienced life just made her look more beautiful than old.

And her eyes, her eyes were behind thick blue sunglasses that matched her blue robes that has small skulls patterned to look like spiders. She was blind, what with the whole walking stick and glasses, but he couldn't help feel like she was staring at him-no, it felt like she was seeing through him.

"I... uh," She reached under the table, picked up his scroll, and placed it on the table between them. "My scroll! Thank you so much."

Just when he was going to grab it, the blind lady reacted quick enough to hold his hand in a form grip.

"What?" He didn't even realize his hand was being held by her until he felt smooth skin touch his palm.

"Hmm… I see, I see it very clearly."

'Palm reading. I heard about this on the TV once when fortune telling was still relevant.' Experiencing it firsthand made him slightly creeped out at her sudden hand holding though. 'I hope she doesn't expect me to pay after her so called 'vision'.'

The woman's grip was surprisingly strong. "You're lucky today."

"Excuse me?" He wanted to laugh at the notion, but he stopped since it would look bad if he laughing at some blind woman's rambling. "I don't feel lucky. I feel the opposite. My job-"

"Is secure." How she sounded so sure of herself gave him pause. "You endure your job and take whatever menial task assigned to you by your bosses. For you, the time has come, you have the path set, yet you must take the steps to move your position forward. Today is the day you show your true colors and you won't need your boss for what is about to happen."

Letting go of his hand, the fortune teller lady grabbed her cane and started to walk away from the man.

"We all have a line that leads us to our destination, sir. You can call it fate to make it easier for you to brush it aside, but it always leads you to the path made for you no matter what. All you can really do is accept it and be ready." A step was made and she stopped and looked over her shoulder. "Oh. Your unlucky numbers are 1,7, and 8."

His feet remained planted and his focus was at the back of the blind woman who entered into the crowd and vanished from his line of sight. Anxiety about his job were gone and all that the man felt were the words she spoke to him that made him feel a new set of feelings.

"Might as well bite the bullet now, than to have it later. Guess I'm telling my boss what happened." Just as he said that the scroll in his hand rang. "Hmm? The boss? Already?"

"Hello, boss." He answered. "Your train has been delayed? It was train line 7 that made your commute run late? You told them to hold the meeting, but you won't make it? Yes, yes, I understand sir, but I missed my train and… you'll have a ride pick me up and I'll be the one to lead the meeting? Yes! Yes, I understand, sir! You can count on me, sir!"

After the call things seemed to go up and up for the office drone. His ride, paid by his boss, picked him up, dropped him off at his work place, and after dealing with the meeting on his own the higher ups saw great potential on the man.

That man would then be promoted and would be in charge of a different branch, would find love, marry, and make a happy family. Years passed and he had a fulfilling life and watched as life continued on without him with no lingering regrets what so ever.

Any last memories he had was that day he met that blind woman after failing to catch a train.
