"That's it, give it another shot!"
Green's voice carried across the plains and beckoned Abby out of her nap. She blinked and groaned.
"Be quiet," she muttered.
Abby rolled over, laying against the back of Green's backpack. Charmander squirmed out of her arms and complained with a little, high pitch cry.
"Oh, whoops. Sorry Charmander."
Charmander hopped onto the ground and beamed at her.
"Char!"
"I guess you're awake now huh?"
"Char! Char!"
Abby giggled and sat up. She stretched, yawned and rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she looked around.
"Seadra?"
"Sea," Seadra whispered.
He was sitting at the edge of the cleared circle of grass. Abby clumsily wandered over to his side.
"What are you- Oh."
Peeking out from the grass was a pink, polyhedral head. A Porygon beeped at her.
"A Porygon? Out here?"
She crouched down and offered her hand.
"Hey little guy, you lost?"
Porygon's tail twitched back and forth as he let out a series of beeps with a strange pattern. Its eyes lit up, turning red as a wave of red light washed over Abby. It scanned from her head to her toes, then back up, then back down. It snapped away and Porygon beeped again. It floated past her and began scanning everything within the circle. Abby scooped up Charmander and followed it.
"Porygon? Where's your trainer?"
Porygon continued scanning, going over Green's bag and Abby's belt beside it. It scanned the healing machine and made what seemed to be an excited noise. Cautiously, Abby approached and snatched up her belt.
"Char!"
Charmander swiped at the air in Porygon's direction and Seadra floated up to Abby's side in a ball of water, eyes narrowed.
"What? It's not doing any-"
"Gon!"
Porygon whipped around, eyes ablaze with white fire. Its whole body flashed white and then everything turned to white. The world filled with heat and the ground disappeared from beneath Abby's feet. A ringing, loud and piercing, flooded her ears. And then, all at once, the world returned and Abby found herself in an empty field of ankle-high grass. It was clearly still Route 15 but with no sight of Green in any direction. All the stuff in the circle was around her feet in the exact place it had been previously. She was about to yell when someone spoke first.
"Good job, robot. You found the girl!"
Abby spun around and saw Liam of all people. She put down Charmander, raised her hands and forced a gentle smile.
"Hey, Liam… whatcha doin' out here?"
"Shut up, girl! I'm gonna battle you."
"Oh come on, you don't have to do that."
Liam scrunched up his face.
"I do too."
"Nope, it's your choice actually. We don't have to fight."
"No! Bird said so!"
Abby's stomach sunk.
"Alistair's here?"
"Bird is gonna beat your friend and then come help me!" Liam said with a grin.
Abby quickly got out Charmander's and Seadra's balls and returned them. Slowly, she began to undo Dragonair's Pokéball pouch.
"Liam, think about this. I don't wanna hurt your Pokémon."
"Shut up, girl! I'm gonna hurt your Pokémon!"
He pointed at her.
"Go, Robot!"
Porygon floated forward and narrowed its hexagonal eyes at her.
"Go, Dragonair!"
Abby threw Dragonair's ball into the air. It burst open and released him before her. He narrowed his eyes at Porygon and the gem at his throat pulsed purple. The space in between the two Pokémon was a fair distance, more than enough for an arena. Both trainers stared the other down, neither willing to make the first move. Their silence carried across the plains, allowing the wind to whistle in Abby's ears.
"Dragon Pulse!" Abby yelled.
Dragonair opened his mouth and began to charge. Purple light filled his mouth and purple light pulsed in his throat gem. Fire and sparks, both purple flared from his eyes and scales. At the same time, Liam yelled.
"Ice Beam!"
The tip of Porygon's head glowed. A beam of clear energy fired, shooting across the field like a bullet. A purple beam fired from Dragonair's mouth, meeting the ice beam. They connected and stopped the other in their tracks. The Dragon Pulse, thicker and more powerful was the first to give way. The Ice Beam split it, splicing it into a thousand smaller beams that shot out in all directions. The Ice Beam travelled up the Dragon Pulse, reaching Dragonair's mouth and striking him in the face. Dragonair's head whipped back as he cried out. His Dragon Pulse snapped away as ice crystals grew across his face.
"Shit, you good?"
"Air!"
"Alright then! Fly up!"
Dragonair burst into light blue flames and shot into the air.
"Ice Beam!"
Porygon fired an Ice Beam after him but Dragonair spiralled around it, avoiding the attack.
"Thunderbolt!"
Yellow flames shot from Dragonair's snout as a bolt of lightning cracked through the air. It struck Porygon in the face, making him fall to the ground. He sparked and spasmed but eventually recovered and hovered back off the ground.
"Again!"
"Teleport!"
Another thunderbolt cracked through the air but Porygon flashed white and disappeared. The thunderbolt hit the ground and Porygon appeared behind Dragonair.
"Signal Beam!"
Porygon's head glowed light green and fired a light green beam point blank at the back of Dragonair's head. It hit with an explosion of light green energy and sent Dragonair crashing down. He spiralled for a moment before regaining consciousness and swooping, avoiding the ground narrowly.
"Dragon Pulse!"
"Ice Beam!"
Again, both attacks collided and again, the Ice Beam split the Dragon Pulse into a thousand streams. However, this time Dragonair avoided the Ice Beam as it split his Dragon Pulse down the middle. He spiralled around it and shot towards Porygon. His tail burst into white flames and he whacked Porygon with it, creating a ring of white flame on impact. Porygon flew back, arching high and landing before Liam with a heavy thud.
"Damn Robot, be stronger!"
Liam reached into his jacket and pulled out a small device. A small, square beige device with the symbol of a disc on the front. Liam tossed it to Porygon and on contact, Porygon began to glow white. His rigid edges smoothed over and his hexagonal eyes became circular.
"Porygon 2?" Abby asked.
"Robot can upgrade! Stupid girl," Liam laughed.
"Whatever, Dragon Pulse!"
Dragonair began to charge.
"Magic Coat!"
A pink veil enveloped Porygon 2. Dragonair's Dragon Pulse fired and struck him. The veil absorbed the attack, dispersing it all around him.
"Thunderbolt!"
"Zap Cannon!"
Both Pokémon's heads burst into yellow flames. A thin bolt cracked from Dragonair, while a thick beam of electricity fired from Porygon 2. The Zap Cannon split the thunderbolt up the middle and struck Dragonair, frying him from snout to tail.
"Air!" He cried out and fell to the ground.
"Ice Beam!"
Porygon 2 fired an Ice Beam. It struck Dragonair's side, covering it in a thick layer of ice crystals. Dragonair squirmed free of the beam, his face scrunched up in pain. The pulse in his throat gem had weakened and all the purple fire had gone out around his body.
"Fly again!"
"Air!"
Dragonair burst into light blue flames and took off with a burst of light blue flame.
"Ice Beam!"
"Dodge!"
Porygon 2 fired another Ice beam but Dragonair spiralled around it.
"Ah, teleport!"
Porygon 2 disappeared with a flash of white and appeared behind Dragonair.
"Ice Beam!"
"Aqua Tail!"
Porygon 2 fired his Ice Beam but Dragonair ducked beneath it. His tail took on a veil of glowing water, swung up and whacked Porygon 2. The force sent Porygon 2 flying to the ground.
"Water gun!"
Dragonair followed up with a thick beam of glowing water, striking Porygon 2 as it lay embedded in the ground.
"Argh! Upgrade again, Robot!"
Liam reached into his jacket and pulled out a purple box. He tossed it to Porygon 2 and again, the Pokémon took up a white glow. Porygon 2 smoothed out further. More purple overtook his body. A horn grew from his head and his eyes turned yellow, gaining an inner black ring around his pupil. His head twitched back and forth rapidly as he spasmed.
"P-P-Porygon Z!"
Porygon Z teleported back and forth across a small distance. Dragonair watched with a strained look. The ice crystals had grown across his body, weighing down his middle section significantly. Liam pointed at Dragonair.
"Hyper Beam!"
Porygon Z's eyes turned white and then burst into white flames. A thick beam of white energy erupted from his snout.
"Dragon Pulse!"
Dragonair charged and fired a Dragon Pulse instantly, roaring as it erupted from his mouth. The two beams struck each other and matched the other. They pushed back and forth, creating a ball of swirling white and purple energy where they met.
"Harder, Robot!"
"Keep it up!"
Both Pokémon made their beams surge. The grass beneath caught fire, smouldering and whipping about. The air around the beams warbled, distorted by the heat. The ice crystals clinging to Dragonair's body grew faster, climbing his neck and joining with the crystals around his face. They crept over his mouth and all at once, the Dragon Pulse snapped away. The Hyper Beam hit Dragonair with a frightening explosion that rocked the ground. He was sent flying, far beyond Abby. With a huge crash, he hit the ground limp and beaten.
"Haha, yes! We did it Robot!"
Porygon Z turned to his trainer, eyes drooped and made a less than enthusiastic beep, while Abby scrambled to return Dragonair. She readied her next Pokéball and tossed it into the air.
"Gyarados, go!"
A blinding light filled Abby's vision and a booming roar dominated her ears. As the light faded it revealed Gyarados swirling above, snaking back and forth through the air. Porygon Z bounced up and down, crying out with whirring beeps.
"Calm down Robot, ice beam!"
"Fly!"
Gyarados's enormous body burst into light blue flames and Porygon Z's head began to glow. Before Porygon Z could get a clear aim on him, Gyarados rocketed towards the clouds. Porygon Z's head lost its glow, he whirred and his head spun around rapidly.
"You fly too! Go!"
"Gon gon gon gon!"
Porygon Z shot after Gyarados like a bullet.
"Dragon rage!"
Gyarados arched and looked down. He opened his mouth and it spewed purple fire that flared above his head. A ball of purple energy began to grow in his open jaws, expanding quickly. Porygon Z charged ahead, his body glowing light blue. Once the ball filled Gyarados's mouth, it fired. The ball zipped down and in the blink of an eye it was on top of Porygon Z. However, Porygon Z dodged, he moved out of the way with inches to spare.
"Aqua Tail!" Abby managed to cry before the Dragon Rage hit the ground between her and Liam, and exploded.
The air filled with dirt, blotting out Abby's vision. The crack of the explosion made her ears ring and its rumble threatened to knock her off her feet. Through the thick smog of dirt, a blue light pierced through. A ring of blue fire shot out in all directions above and Porygon Z cried out before slamming down in front of Abby and embedding in the ground. It shone bright and returned back to a normal Porygon. Abby waved the smog out of her face, coughing. She grimaced and turned away from the mangled Porygon. Once the smog cleared, Liam yelled.
"Argh! Stupid Robot!"
He returned Porygon and tore his second pokéball from his sleeve.
"Egg, go!" he yelled.
He released his next Pokémon, a Blissey. The round pink Pokémon stood as tall as Abby on two stumpy little legs. On the shoulders of its equally stumpy arms were a pair of small, undersized wings. On its front was a pouch containing an egg that stuck out. The curly fluff on its head bounced as it hopped from foot to foot.
"Blis-sey," It sang.
Its derpy little face beamed at Abby.
"A Blissey? Huh, okay then."
Abby looked to Gyarados above and pointed.
"Dragon rage!"
"DOS!"
Gyarados began charging.
"Egg, use Disarming Voice!"
Blissey looked up at Gyarados and opened her little mouth. A bright pink glow shone from it as she let out a piercing, melodic screech. A ring of pulsing, bright pink energy flew from her mouth towards Gyarados. Gyarados's attack fired and they met in the air. The ring collided with the massive ball of purple energy. The ball warbled and collapsed in on itself. The ring continued past the collapsing ball and struck Gyarados in the head. His head snapped back and he dropped from the sky for a moment before catching himself. He roared furiously while Blissey just beamed at him, her beady little eyes staring vacantly.
"Swoop down Gyarados, Aqua Tail!"
Gyarados lowered his head and began to dive. His tail became veiled in dark blue light, a veil that reached up the back third of his body. The veil flared as he drew closer, kicking up into dazzling blue flames.
"Defence Curl!" Liam yelled.
Blissey's arms and legs tucked into her body, along with her head and egg pouch. A white glow veiled her now featureless body. Gyarados swooped over the top of her, lowered his tail and slammed it into her, sending her flying. She shot through the air far off into the distance. Liam raised his Pokéball and returned her before she could hit the ground. Before Abby could relax, however, he immediately pointed the ball back at the battlefield and released her. Blissey materialised, dazed but physically unharmed.
"Hey! That's not fair!"
"This isn't a game, girl."
Liam pointed.
"Thunder, Egg!"
Blissey beamed and sang happily. Her eyes shot out wild yellow bolts as her body glowed yellow. The clouds rumbled and swiftly gathered, dark and grey. Blissey waggled her stumpy arms and the yellow glow of her body flared.
"Gyarados! Do-"
A huge bolt of lightning crashed down, striking Gyarados on the back. An ear-splitting crash followed that echoed off along the plains and shook the ground. Gyarados's body was sliced up with jagged scorch marks that ran the length. He fell instantly, going limp. Abby raised her Pokéball and returned him before he could hit the ground. Her heart began to race, all her strong Pokémon were gone and she still had two more of Liam's to defeat. Doubt pounded in her head. Her hand hovered on her belt between Seadra's and Charmander's pokéballs.
"Next Pokémon, girl," Liam said.
Abby let out a staggered breath and swallowed before choosing Seadra. She released him and he immediately surrounded himself with a water veil. The veil glowed and pulsed as he sped out onto the battlefield.
"Egg, Thunder again!"
Seadra spun around, eyes wide.
"Sea?!"
Abby's mind raced as the clouds rumbled.
"Seadra?!" Seadra yelled.
"U-Uh…"
"Bliss… sey!"
Blissey's body flashed yellow. Seadra zipped to the side. The sky exploded with a flash of yellow and a huge bolt struck the ground close to where Seadra had been but still off by a few feet. Abby's mind snapped into focus.
"Fly around her and hit her with a water gun!" Abby yelled.
"Sea!"
Seadra flew forward and began spinning around Blissey. Quickly, he dropped his water veil, fired a high-pressure stream of glowing water from his snout, and then summoned his veil before hitting the ground. He continued that pattern, firing a brief stream every few seconds. Blissey waddled around clumsily, trying to follow Seadra's fast movements. She recoiled from the attacks, teetering and tilting, threatening to fall over. Her little arms waggled as she made unhappy cries. The attacks left faint marks behind but didn't break the skin.
"Thunder, Egg!"
Blissey stopped her panicking after a moment and began to charge an attack. The sky rumbled and a bolt struck the ground, missing Seadra by quite a margin. She tried again and again, but each time the bolts missed. With a cry, Blissey began waggling her arms again.
"Focus, Egg! Hyper Voice!"
"Bliss! Bliss!" Blissey wailed.
"Use Hyper Voice, Egg!"
Blissey continued crying. She swiped her arms at Seadra but never got near.
"Keep it up Seadra!"
Seadra flew in front of Blissey, dropped his veil and fired. The stream hit her egg, cracking its shell. Blissey looked down and let out a piercing cry.
"Blissey!"
She hopped forward into Seadra's path and slammed into him. Seadra fell from the air briefly before summoning his water veil back. He shook his head, gave Blissey a confused look and continued his attack.
"Hyper Voice, Egg!"
Blissey's eyes burst into white flames. She opened her mouth and screamed. At first, Abby heard the impossibly loud scream. It seemed to tear the air itself, shredding it apart. But then, it cut out and was replaced by a droning, ringing sound. She covered her ears but it still remained. From Blissey's mouth, several glowing white rings shot out. They fired at Seadra. The first narrowly missed, the second was dodged by Seadra and the third came nowhere near. Seadra zipped to the side and fired. The stream hit Blissey in her open mouth. Blood sprayed, erupting as if Blissey had vomited. She fell back, tears in her eyes and waggling her arms as if attempting to reach her mouth. As the ringing in Abby's ears died down, she heard Blissey's wails. Abby pressed her hands against her ears harder and looked away, only looking back once the flash of Liam's Pokéball brought an end to the screaming.
"Stupid, Egg," he muttered.
He reached for his last Pokéball and tore it from his arm.
"Go, Bear."
His final Pokéball released a Snorlax. The huge, bear-like Pokémon towered a good few feet above Liam. He stood on two, short but thick legs. Two narrowed eyes gazed groggily at Seadra. He stretched his short, fat arms, yawned and scratched his round belly.
"Snorlax…" he groaned.
Abby didn't waste a single moment.
"Twister!"
"Sea!"
Seadra dropped to the ground and his snout shone purple. A cone of swirling purple energy began to form. The vortex grew, and as it did purple flames erupted from Seadra's eyes.
"Bear, Slam!"
With surprising speed, Snorlax shot forward and jumped. His belly glowed white as he fell towards Seadra. The twister dissipated as Seadra summoned his water veil and zipped backwards. Snorlax slammed into the ground with a crash, leaving behind a shallow crater where he landed. He rose and eyed Seadra with the same groggy stare.
"Slash!" Liam yelled.
Again, Snorlax shot forward, his paw engulfed in white flames. He swiped it at Seadra, but again he zipped out of the way but narrowly. Again and again, Snorlax came at him, swiping in a crisscross pattern back and forth.
"Water Gun!" Abby yelled.
Seadra shot back out of the way of Snorlax's slash, dropped his veil and fired a small burst before summoning his veil and dodging another attack narrowly. The stream of glowing water did little more than blast away a patch of Snorlax's dark blue-green fur. Liam began to laugh.
"Girl's Pokémon are weak!"
Abby's heart began leaping up her throat. Each swing of Snorlax's blazing paw tied a new knot in her stomach. They were getting closer, bit by bit, the flames were beginning to wisp Seadra's veil; the water refracted their light. In her blossoming panic, Abby felt her belt and found her hand resting on Charmander's pouch. He didn't stand a chance, it was plain to see. Abby clenched her fist.
"Seadra! You need to use Dragon Rage!"
"Sea?!"
"Just try!"
"Sea!"
Seadra dodged back, far this time. He dropped his veil and landed on the ground. The extra distance surprised Snorlax and he staggered. Seadra's snout shone purple and his eyes closed, furrowing. His snout erupted in purple flames. Snorlax regained his footing and re-ignited his paw.
"Come on, please…" Abby whispered.
Snorlax lunged forward and swatted Seadra, sending him skidding across the ground. He bounced, flipped and landed on his side before coming to a stop amongst the grass. Shakily, he rose his head and made an alarmed trumpeting sound as he saw Snorlax barrelling towards him. Without thinking, Abby tossed a Pokéball. But not Seadra's, instead she threw Charmander's. He appeared before Snorlax and let out a terrified cry. Snorlax made an equally alarmed cry and screeched to a halt, his narrowed eyes as wide as they could possibly go, which wasn't far. In the confusion, Seadra summoned his veil and took to the air. He fired a stream of glowing water at Snorlax, making him raise his hands to block.
"Work together! Keep your distance and attack with Water Gun and Ember!" Abby yelled.
"Sea!"
Seadra jumped into action immediately and began flying circles around Snorlax, bombarding him with Water Guns.
"Ch-Char!"
Charmander scurried back a few feet before firing a stream of embers from his mouth. They showered Snorlax, singing his fur. Small flames ignited all over him but were extinguished by Seadra's water. Snorlax watched them, not moving, a scowl on his face.
"Cheap tactics, girl," Liam said.
He pointed to Charmander.
"Bear, separate them. Belch!"
"Snorlax!" Snorlax bellowed.
He opened his wide mouth and it shone a light purple. With a burp, he spewed a stream of light purple gas at Charmander. Alarmed, Charmander tried to dodge but was caught in the gas. His face went white and he vomited, ending his attack.
"Thunder Punch!" Liam yelled.
Snorlax turned, his paw became engulfed in a veil of yellow bolts. He swipe it through the air, intercepting Seadra as he dropped his veil to attack. Bolts surged through his body as he was sent flying, they left jagged black streaks across him that wafted black smoke. He hit the ground, bounced and landed limply in the grass, smouldering. Charmander staggered from the cloud of purple gas and saw Seadra, he let out a furious cry and turned to Snorlax. Snorlax towered over him, at least three times his size. Nevertheless, Charmander ignited his paw with three purple claws made of purple lighting. His tail flame turned dark purple and he leapt and slashed at Snorlax's face.
"Block," Liam said.
Snorlax raised his arms in a cross before his face and they burst into white flames. The lighting claws struck his arms but did no damage. Charmander flew past Snorlax and landed behind him. He leapt again but Snorlax was faster, turning and blocking the attack. Snorlax swiped, swatting Charmander out of the air as he sailed past. He hit the ground but was on his feet instantly, his tail flame surged and flared above his head.
"Char!" He yelled and fired a stream of embers at Snorlax.
They did little more than singe his fur. Liam laughed.
"Weak little lizard!"
"Don't listen to him Charmander! Keep it up!" Abby cried.
"Char!"
Charmander leapt again and attacked but was blocked and swatted again. Even so, he continued getting up and attacking again. Leap, block, swat and crash. Again and again, until he was standing on shaking legs covered in cuts and bruises. Despite his state, his tail flame grew larger and larger. He opened his mouth to fire an ember attack, but only a puff of smoke came out. This time, it was Snorlax who laughed. He leered at Charmander, smirking. Charmander snarled, then cried out.
"CHAR!"
His tail flame became a pillar of flame that shot high into the air. His lighting claws grew twice their size and purple flames erupted from his eyes. Then, a white glow engulfed him. He doubled in size, his eyes sharpened and he grew a small stub on the back of his head. Liam huffed and crossed his arms as Charmander emerged as a Charmeleon.
"Chaaaaaar!" he roared.
His mouth burst into purple flames and an orb of purple energy shot from his mouth, exploding in Snorlax's face. Snorlax stumbled back out of the cloud of black smoke with an alarmed shout. Charmeleon shot forward and slashed his purple lighting claws across the side of Snorlax's head, sailing past and landing behind him. Three gashes opened up on Snorlax's face and began to weep blood. Snorlax whipped around, eyes blazing with fury and lunged at Charmeleon. Charmeleon roared and his eyes blazed with purple flames. His left hand erupted in silver flames and turned to steel, growing three metal claws. He leapt forward beneath Snorlax's slash and sliced his side with his metal claws. Rather than landing, he kicked off from the ground and leapt past Snoralx's other side, slashing him with his dragon claws.
"Argh! Finish it, Bear! Hyper Beam!"
"SNORLAX!"
Snorlax's eyes shot white flames as he opened his mouth and began to form a white ball of energy in his mouth.
"Step back, dodge!" Abby yelled.
Charmeleon nodded and leapt backward just as Snorlax fired. A thick beam of white energy blasted the ground, kicking up chunks of earth and rock. Snorlax lifted his head and swung the beam towards Charmeleon. He ran to the side but Snorlax followed him with the beam. It carved up the earth, leaving behind a ravine of destruction. Just as the beam was about to reach Charmeleon, it cut out and Snorlax groaned. He fell back onto his bottom and clutched his stomach. Charmeleon stopped, took a wide stance and turned his tail flame from purple to red. He blasted Snorlax with a torrent of flames that engulfed his head. Snorlax flailed feebly before rolling onto his back, unconscious and defeated. At the same time, Charmeleon buckled and fell to his knees. His tail flame flickered as he panted. Abby returned him, along with Seadra and glared at Liam. He returned Snorlax and returned the glare.
"Abby!?" Green shouted.
Abby turned and saw Machoke and Green running towards her. Liam's glare disappeared.
"B-But, Bird, he-"
"Your friend lost!" Green yelled.
Machoke ran in between Abby and Liam, scowling. He puffed out his broad chest, making Liam shrink back.
"Y-You're a liar! Bird is strong and Girl is weak!"
"Get out of here Liam, it's over," Abby said.
Liam looked back and forth between her and Green with a look of utter confusion. Machoke stepped forward and Liam immediately took two back.
"D-Dog is gonna be mad," Liam whimpered before turning and running off.
Green grasped Abby's shoulders, eyes wide.
"Are you okay?!"
"What? Yeah, I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
Green looked her up and down frantically.
"I could hear the explosions, you didn't get hit by any debris or anything?"
Abby laughed and put her hands on Green's shoulders.
"Green, I'm fine."
Green's eyes filled with tears. She lurched forward and wrapped her arms around Abby, laying her chin on her shoulder. Abby hugged her back stiffly. But then, her stiffness suddenly went away. The feeling of Green's arms wrapped around her, her chin on her shoulder and the warmth of their bodies pressed together. It was like the inviting warmth of a bed on a cold night. She let herself smile and lay her chin on Green's shoulder. Suddenly, as they were embracing a large hand came down on Abby's free shoulder. Machoke stood over them, arms around them both as he scanned the horizon with a suspicious look.
"Ma…" he muttered.
Abby lifted her head.
"We should keep moving. I only have one Pokémon left and he's weak as it is. If there's more of them, we'll lose another fight."
Green lifted her head too and nodded.
"Right. Come on buddy, let's go."
Machoke nodded and ran ahead. Green and Abby ran after him towards the distant skyline of Fuchsia City.
