Chapter 5: Crimson Lady

A/N: Its been a long while. I hope some of you are still with me! Let me know your thoughts on the new chapter. It's been a while since I picked this story up, so I hope can continue with the same tone.

Bonnie is an entirely new girl here and she is going to go through a different definition of 'emotions off' then would apply to a vampire. After all, she is a witch. I don't want to give too much a way.

Please drop a line, it would make my day!

"How much longer until we have to board?"

"One hour," Klaus did not bother to look up when responding to his sister.

Rebekah rolled her eyes, but not before shooting daggers at her older brother.

Their relationship was an interesting one, Bonnie observed.

All throughout the car ride to Virginia international airport, Bonnie watched and listened as the two Originals bickered (mostly initiated by Rebekah). Klaus responded in his typical droll behaviour. Sometimes he stayed silent, annoyance rolling off him in waves. Most times, Klaus seemed to enjoy the tactless banter with his sister. But, whenever he caught Bonnie watching the golden haired pair, he would quickly sharpen up his facial expression.

Bonnie would like to say she found this amusing, but she was bored. Utterly and truly bored.

"I'll be back," she called over her shoulder as she strutted away from the private plane boarding zone. She was not surprised in the least when she heard the gentle padding of men's shoes against the airport floor. Following her.

This would be fun.

One of Klaus' hybrid henchmen started to follow her, trying to be discreet, but not discreet enough.

As Bonnie continued to walk towards the main part of the airport, gracefully weaving her way through the throng of awaiting passengers, she motioned her hands intricately. A conniving smile graced her pink lips when she heard the satisfying sound of feet scuffling and a body falling to the ground. She glanced at the reflection of a passing store glass window to confirm what she had done. The hybrid was sprawled against the gleaming white airport floors, passersby frantically trying to assist.

That'll teach him.

The witch disappeared into the crowd.

It was sleek, fitted and deep crimson, offsetting her green eyes.

She liked it. This dress made her feel like herself. Not behind someone else's shadow, wearing a dowdy paisley top, playing the back-up to the lead. In this dress she was the lead girl.

That girl.

That witch.

Ever since turning off her emotions, she could feel her magic tingling throughout her body. The essence of her power flowing through her blood vessels. No, the sensation was more pulsating. As if her magic and blood were intertwining while doing a forbidden dance. She almost felt..

Electric.

Bonnie stared at herself in the reflection of the changing room and then stepped out to the main part of the store, her old clothes folded neatly on the changing room chair.

"Oh miss! The dress looks stunning on you, what a figure you have!"

The witch smiled in return to the Burberry sales clerk, "Do you have shoes and a jacket to match?" The clerk nodded happily and scurried to the front of the store and began browsing the racks for the suitable accompaniments.

Bonnie meandered to the perfume section and picked up a random tartan designed glass bottle, and decided to spray her neck. Spicy and dark notes wafted to her nose.

"I'd like this perfume as well."

"Of course miss," the clerk was now back with a light weight velvet jacket and a pair of sling back crimson heels that matched perfectly with the dress.

Bonnie slipped on the shoes and jacket and walked towards an ornate full-length mirror, she turned from side to side. Bonnie Bennett indeed.

"You have excellent taste," Bonnie complimented the clerk, her eyes not leaving her reflection.

"Thank you miss," she stuttered, her southern twang was deep, "It's actually my first day," she beamed, eyes shining with eagerness.

Bonnie checked the girl's name tag, "Olivia..." she began, but she was rudely interrupted.

"Well, Nik won't be happy about this."

Rebekah.

Turning away from the clerk and back to the mirror, Bonnie met the gaze of the only Mikaelson daughter through the reflected glass.

"What's wrong with a little shopping trip before we board our flight?"

"Absolutely nothing, although we only have fifteen minutes before we need to board." The blonde original cocked her head to the side, "And if you hadn't incapacitated your idiotic hybrid security, you would have known that."

"Rebekah, you hardly seem like one to follow rules yourself," Bonnie turned to face Rebekah full on, tilting her head to the side, mirroring the blonde.

Rebekah smirked, "Well if we're going to be late, I guess we better do it fashionably," she stepped back and regarded Bonnie, "This is a different look for you, but you seem more yourself." She proceeded to analyze Bonnie's outfit, while completing a full three-sixty degree turn around the witch.

"I feel like myself," she admitted to the vampire. She turned to Oliva, "I trust your taste, pick something out for the blonde," Bonnie motioned to Rebekah, and the original stuck up an unsavoury finger in response. Ignoring the petulant distraction, she continued to instruct the clerk, "Perhaps something in emerald green? And pack it in a bag for us, shoes and all." The clerk nodded and scurried back to the clothing racks.

"Why assume I like emerald green?" Rebekah's eyes sparked with challenge.

"Because you'll look ravishing," Bonnie responded as she eased down into a plush loveseat in the center of the store. As tempting as it was to engage in a harmless back and forth with one of the Mikaelsons, Bonnie simply did not have the energy nor interest.

Olivia returned and began to pack Rebekah's surprise emerald green outfit in a Burberry shopping bag and placed it on the cashier's desk. The clerk's gaze bounced nervously between the original and the witch.

"How would you ladies like to pay?"

Predictably, Rebekah walked up to the girl, about to compel her, but Bonnie stopped her. "No need, Rebekah, this is my treat," she was greeted with raised eyebrows.

Bonnie rose from her seat and walked towards the cashier's desk, "Now Olivia, we're going to play a little game, but we have to play quickly because we have a flight to catch."

A devious smile graced the witch's lips as she raised her right hand and twirled her pointer finger. A wispy golden cord emitted from the tip, snaking itself gracefully around Olivia's head.

"Repeat after me."

"Repeat after me." The sales clerk's eyes instantly went fully white. No trace of iris or pupil in sight.

Bonnie's voice oozed like honey, "All merchandise chosen by me is courtesy of Burberry and no payment is required."

"All merchandise chosen by me is courtesy of Burberry and no payment is required."

Bonnie snapped her fingers. The golden cord uncoiled, went rigid and retracted back into the witch's fingertip. The clerk's eyes returned to normal. Irises and pupils fully intact and brown again.

"Takes more time than compulsion, but I admit, much more fun to watch," Rebekah's tone was impatient yet her eyes betrayed her. The original was clearly entertained.

"I aim to amuse." Bonnie winked.

As they began to walk out the store and back to the private plane boarding area, Bonnie caught another glance at herself in the mirrored entrance and paused.

"That sales clerk really has good taste, what do you say? " she looked over at Rebekah who had stopped beside her.

"Take her with us?"

Bonnie could sense a small edge of amicable behaviour coming from the original vampire's response. Expensive designer fashion could mend the deepest of gaps between women, supernatural or otherwise.

"I mean, I'd hate for us to pick-out clothes ourselves at Klaus' top-secret destination, why not have someone do it for us? I could enchant her,"

"Or, I could compel her, it would be quicker," the challenging tone was back in full throttle, "Plus you're still an infant at this witch stuff. Even though your little stunt with the sales clerk and tripping up my brother's hybrid was cute, it's better to leave the heavy lifting to the professionals."

The earlier electric sensation throughout her vessels had returned and it seemed to be working double time. Bonnie's insides were trembling. She inhaled deeply, waiting, waiting and there it was, that intolerable expanse in her lungs. The sensation allowed her to reclaim the indifference desperately sought. Exhalation followed afterwards. Not realizing that she had closed her eyes, she opened them slowly. Bonnie was surprised to see Rebekah's gaze on her. Her eyes wide.

"What's wrong?"

"I should be asking you that. Your body, it lit up like a bloody inferno."

"It what?"

"Lit up, like you swallowed hundreds of fireflies. You better get that under control, especially around these mortals."

Bonnie shrugged and decided to continue their earlier conversation, "Olivia, the sales clerk, comes with, yes?"

Rebekah's expression changed from bewilderment to contemplation as she considered both the with and the question. "Nik won't like it,"

Bonnie arched an eyebrow, finally challenging Rebekah back silently. The vampire rolled her eyes and huffed, "But I do what I want."

Bonnie had never met a girl that was so unaware of her need to gain her brother's approval. That would have to change.

"Atta girl." she encouraged the Original with an exaggerated grin.

The witch conceded to Rebekah's earlier demand to compel the sales clerk instead of watching her 'show-off magic'. Bonnie waited near the entrance of the store. To any onlooker, she seemed to be people watching amicably, but in reality Bonnie was hoping that wherever they went, there would be some decent fashion, food, and somewhere to let loose. The tremoring pressure was thrumming through her wildly.

"All set witch?" Rebekah called as Olivia towed along behind her. The girl looked dazed while carrying both of their Burberry shopping bags.

Bonnie nodded, but as they turned to leave once again, Olivia spoke, looking straight at Bonnie, "Miss, what about your original clothes? You left them in the changing room."

"Leave them, I don't need them anymore."
