Chapter 9: Fateful Confrontation
Written By AnimayWriteY0
After witnessing the ID cards and how this discovery placed Sanada into a stunned realization. Sanada noticed that the girls who had been missing and confirmed murdered had worked in a similar profession. The stern eyed detective had also noticed some of the girls worked at the same place. Primarily tailoring corporations and clothing decorative cosmetic designing. But what caught the stern eyed detective the most is how similar the girls looked from their facial features, not only that but their choice of clothing. He questions if these ID cards and documentations are actually legitimate, he turns to Kei who's preoccupied on patching up his wounded arm.
"Sanada, are you holding up alright? Don't put too much strain on that arm of yours, okay?" Sanada sighed. "I'm fine." Kei looks on while Yakimori wanted to listen in on what Sanada has to say.
The glaring detective closes his eyes as he paused to think for short amount of time. Something popped up. "We can check out the places where those girls worked seeing if there's anyone who can give us more info on what they were up to during their employment, once we have enough information, we spread this to their known relatives about their career choices. Seeing in their point of view and perspectives. So, our goal is to bring them together and have a conversation about their own experience" It was clear something else is bothering the young officer, not the disease he finally figured out, not what's been happening behind closed doors with Division 5, but something that gave him a hunch the moment he came across the ID's, his visions, and Jazu's story related to this Mistress. "So, about Ryumo being involved in this, what exactly do we need from him?"
"Well, it comes to our attention that Ryumo is basically the only person who hasn't been subjugated to jail time or worse. A target to whoever wanted him dead in hopes of keeping any of us nor the other Divisions to bring them into true justice. Sasiki looked directly at Sanada using the rear-view mirror. "So, our job is to monitor him from a distance and ensuring nothing bad happens to him during our investigation. He has already sustained pretty bad injuries during his encounter with those assailants."
"A protective custody?" With that question in mind, he turns t Kei as she nods in confirmation of this call for action. "So, if we track his whereabouts there's a chance that he'll get targeted with another hit attempt?" Kei further explains. "Sanada, there's more to this job." She glances at the ID photos and turn to Sanada. "We also want to keep an eye on your little sister."
With that request, Sanada immediately reacts with denial and outrage. What could they possibly want with his little sister Himiko? This in turn made Sanada decline this since he doesn't want his sister getting involved into this matter at all. As expected, coming from the older brother, the two Division 3 officers knew he would refuse but given the fact that the victims from their photos looked pretty similar to Himiko Shibumi in terms of physique they have to take extra precautions.
What's more, she's been getting some unwanted attention from the perpetrators. Sanada finally realized this back when the three thugs who were beaten down by Ryumo did attempt to take Himiko. Now things are falling into place and it's becoming more crucial for Sanada, now that he's needed to protect his sister again from danger. Sanada finally loosens up and goes along with whatever plan they have on protecting Himiko and Ryumo.
"So, what is your next course of action you guys?" He glances at Kei and Yakimori to see if they have anything. Easy enough Kei's the first to come up with her plan. "If it works, I do suggest you looking after Ryumo since he's by any means the next closest thing to someone your sister cares so much for other than you. Umm no offense." She sweat drops looking away from Sanada after her comment. "Yakimori you should probably go with Sanada. Me and Sasiki will go and check out the workplaces those girls were last seen before their disappearances."
"Sounds like a solid plan. Alright, I'll put Ryumo San under protective custody, I can even get some insight of his past relations with Ai about their last known interactions." After this, Sanada has some plans as well relating to the hunch that keeps popping up in his head. But to him he needed some more evidence in order to prove that his hunch can lead to the actual ringleader to all of this.
Ending the long-lasting torment and suffering for the girls from his visions, the heart ache from their loved ones, and put a stop to the continuous massacre that has been an ongoing plague for the blind public. Now that he has suffered the same disease as his mother, he must put every effort to finding the killer and end it with a simple trigger. It may go against his morals of not resorting to violence but because of his time on this world he has no other choice. And frankly he doesn't care what happens to him, he's willing to risk his own life to keep his sister, that goes the same for his companions. Now it's time to act, there's absolutely no time to lose.
[On the way to Kinki Ward Devision 3 Police Department, 12:10 p.m.]
A few miles away to reach Kinki Ward Department, Kei gets a call from HQ. Once Kei answered, she's been informed that Ryumo has arrived at their police building and is currently waiting for them. Good, then it's set Sanada and Yakimori will be looking after Ryumo as for the rest of the Division 3 officers, they'll take a look into the girls detailed information from their work history and investigate their last known company they all seem to work at. As the four finally arrive back at their headquarters, the four main officers saw Ryumo outside waiting on one of the flower beds waving at them. Sanada, Kei, Yakimori, and Sasiki greeted Ryumo into the building to have their discussion of their next course of action.
Sanada checks up on the young man. "It's good to see that you're recovering Ryumo San." Ryumo follows alongside with Himiko's big brother examining his wounds as they are indeed well patched giving the idea that he was treated at some hospital home. "Yeah, I just didn't think it would be this bad given what I was told by one of the nurses, she even told me that if I were to take a few more damage I could have died." He sighs out of relief as he makes his way to what looks like the waiting room lobby next to the offices.
Kei asked the young man to have a seat near the planning table. "Ekijo San if you may, please have a seat. Do you need something to drink?" Offering the young man with anything to ease his tension during this meeting. "No...but thanks anyway Wume San..." He took a seat and sees his surroundings of Division 3's office area. He notices that there are so many of them working really hard. Having his name called by the stern eyed brother of Himiko the young lad puts his attention on Sanada.
"Ekijo San, I know this may be strange for us to ask you to come here despite what happened back at Sagaoritocho. But we really need your cooperation." The stern eyed detective ensures him that he isn't in trouble but because of his background relation to Ai, he needs more to go along with the search for any connection, primarily where she worked at. "If it has anything to do with Ai, then I don't want to talk about it...she made my life all the more painful…" He immediately pulls back and look to his side in disdain.
Expected this response since his time with Ai before all of this was nothing but pain and betrayal. But Sanada points out the truth to Ryumo and explains his findings from the evidence he and the rest of Division 3 main officers found. "Ryumo San….what if I told you that the Ai who is this loving, spunky, and funny girl you've been dating who suddenly became an abusive, raving, irrational, and controlling person after you two reunite a few months from her first disappearance. What if I told you that Ai wasn't really the actual Ai Fujisawa you loved?" Sanada's comment struck a nerve to Ryumo as he turns his gaze at him with disbelief yet obviously curious.
"W-What exactly do you mean by that Sanada San?" Ryumo raises his eyebrows with a puzzling expression figuring out what he's getting at from this. "What if the Ai you were dating with at that time was nothing more than someone else, mimicking her behavior and her literal appearance..." He turns to Kei for a simple request. "Kei please bring me the evidence found from our last location." With that Kei handed him the photo ID of the victims including Ai, plus the photo taken right at Katsuya River, the body of Ai. He's aware that if he shows these to the confused young man it would definitely scarred him but Sanada hopes that his will is strong enough to handle the truth. "Unfortunately, Ryumo…I well...Ai, she was actually...dead all this time….and the girl you were with imitated Ai's looks and personality."
Without a single word coming from Sanada after he bluntly told Ryumo the unfortunate truth of what happened to Ai. Ryumo instantly froze, his pupils shrink, his eyes shook uncontrollably from this. His breathing intensifies as he looks directly at Ai's ID photo then slumps on floor level. He clenches his hand to a fist and slams it on the coffee table cursing to himself. He looks on to Sanada with hopeless tear driven eyes, demanding him more of what Sanada discovered. With that, Sanada unravels the secret.
First, he told him everything about the other victims being abducted for spiritual/ritual purposes by some sort of unknown cult. To make it plausible, he best described that the true perpetrator is behind all the kidnappings who wanted to copycat and become their intended targets. Ryumo trying to comprehend all of what he was told then asked why? To back up Sanada's claim, Kei simply point what seems to be her hypothesis through Sanada's perspective.
"If I can guess, these actions may result in trying to cheat death, although I don't want to believe in the supernatural but from what we look at the evidence. We may be dealing with something from the paranormal. Or with a more realistic detail, they wanted to operate on identity fraud to get insurance money out of the victims' parents, spouses, or significant other by having a female test subject take on the role as the victim."
Ryumo scoffs with a disbelieving smile. "Oh, come on that's...that's just crazy!" In obvious denial about the whole thing but he's been assured by Sanada that this is indeed a real-life crisis for anyone whose involved from this operation directly and indirectly. Ryumo, finding himself finally at a less tense state asks a question regarding to himself about his involvement.
Yakimori further explains. "Yeah, well you see man, you're going to be on protective custody with both me and Sanada." He crosses his arms as he leans on the wall nibbling on his toothpick out of habit.
"W-wait what? D-Did I do anything bad?" Starts to panic a little from this. That is until Sanada mentioned it's just having them as bodyguards in a way. "Oh, so that means you guys are going to monitor me to make sure nothing bad happens to me. And if there are people coming after me you guys are gonna be there to intervene?"
Sasiki snaps and nod. "Bingo, but most importantly you have to fill either Sanada or Yakimori in, we also want to make sure you don't ruin their cover when they are keeping an eye on ya. Right now, this case is going well as I hoped since the evidence, we have been pretty damning but it's still not enough to find out who our female serial killer actually is." Sanada brought up the biggest point that bothered him related to his sister regarding to that encounter. "Oh, and one more thing, I like to know coming from you Ryumo. Don't worry this isn't anything personal, but…why did you mistook my sister for Ai?" His stern eyed glare forms but only so slightly not to tense up the young spiky haired man, waiting for his response.
"It was the umbrella she used." He stated out why he did what he did. "Excuse me?" Lost from such a weird excuse. Sanada raises an eyebrow and asks why the umbrella is such a telling thing to identify Himiko as Ai? "Ai seemed to love and buy traditional looking Japanese clothing that don't even fit to her personality or looks. She's also the one who tailored the umbrella to have that distinct patterned color design. But I don't even know where Himiko got the umbrella?" He shrugs and says all the things he knows. Sanada rubs his chin at this indication. "Hmm, I guess I'll have to ask Himiko exactly where she got it..." Sanada turns his attention to Sasiki. "I believe it's time we should go about our business now. I'll see what I can do, I have a hunch of something." Sasiki now curious asked his superior. "Sanada san do you have something in mind?" He looks on wondering what his stern looking friend is talking about.
"I don't know but part of this hunch may have something to do with our next findings. Alright let's get going." Sanada proceeds to go but his friends notice they can hear his stomach growling, thus causing Sanada to fluster. "Ugh I hate having to deal with this bull crap now." Suddenly he can hear another growling noise coming from both Yakimori and Ryumo. Thus, thoroughly annoying Sanada causing his eyes to twitch obviously taking an easy guess to their look. "Oh, let me guess you two, I'm treating this time?" Yakimori made a toothy smile. "Heh, hey you said it! Okay it's settled, free food woo!" The spirited Yakimori rushes at their car waiting for the other two.
"Rghhh….well I guess it's time to part ways. Good luck Kei and Sasiki." He strolls out the building and enters in the car while Ryumo follows behind. Once everyone is in, Sanada starts the car and drove to the nearest place at Division 3, Ganko Sushi.
Once the trio are on their way to the restaurant, Ryumo took the opportunity to ask Sanada a request on behalf of his little sister. He looks at his phone to see if he has enough time to spare to spend for Himiko. Seeing how it's at 1:00 p.m., this casual hangout with the two detectives would take about an hour or more. Finally, he calls out to Sanada for his attention, clearly nervous with this he hopes that Sanada would accept. "Sanada San, may I ask you a request it's pretty important if you're willing to hear me out on this." His tone of voice is obviously quivering, yet he pushes through and found his courage to continue on trying to gain his permission. "Are you okay of having me spend the night at your place to be with Himiko?"
Being silent, Sanada tries to rationalize this request as to why he should let him do such a thing at his family's place only for the safety of his sister, however given the fact that he and Himiko really felt happy together he can't help but reconsidering his doubt. After all, it does sound like the best choice of action. Himiko will have company along with someone who will protect her, while Ryumo won't be seen out in the open from anyone who are still after him. Then, he has an idea, he grants Ryumo permission to have a sleep over in the Shibumi residence. Under the condition to have Ryumo find a way to obtain Himiko's cell phone. Yakimori find Sanada's own request as an unusual one. But to Sanada it makes sense since he begins to reflect his experience on a certain someone that grabbed his attention the moment he arrived back to Kyoto Japan, but right now he must be on point with clear proof of his hunch.
"Umm sure, I can do that, but I need to know why? I don't see the point on looking into her phone, I mean shouldn't you be able to ask her to check it yourself?" Stating a good point but Sanada counters, by telling Ryumo that there is a chance someone may try to lure her out, thus making Ryumo awe struck. Why didn't he think of that possibility? "So, what you mean is that, if you were out of sight from Himiko there's a slim chance of some mysterious caller seizing the chance to bring her out leaving her exposed to be captured?" Sanada nodded. "Right on the money, Ryumo. Which is why I want you to keep me updated on any strange messages that may occur on my sister's phone and texts it to me."
"Alright we're here, time to fill our stomachs boys!" Yakimori stops the car and parked at the nearest area by the sushi restaurant.
Meanwhile back at the Shibumi Residence, Himiko gradually becomes nervous as her excitement for Ryumo coming over for this sleep over is giving her anxiety because of the decision her brother may choose. She's worried that she won't have a chance to spend more time with Ryumo. Suddenly she realizes that she hasn't heard anything from Miyazu in a long time. Now curious about her friend, Himiko recounted the time where she refused to spend another day with her.
She thought that because of that decision her friends decided to become inactive, feeling slightly guilty she checked up on her phone to see if she actually sent out a single text….Nothing, this indeed frustrates Himiko a bit but now she wonders if it's partially her fault she didn't spend more time with her that often. Once she read some of their previous text conversation especially her outburst. The brunette frowned wishing she correct her mistake. "Mmmnnn…. She hasn't even given me a call...ohhhh I hope I haven't been too distant with her..." She whispers with a hint of regret on her shoulders.
Himiko falls flat on her bed and stares directly at the ceiling wishing that she could do anything to lighten the mood for Miyazu. Out of nowhere her phone starts to ring. Like a chameleon catching Its prey with lightning speed she instantly grabs hold of her cell phone and sees its Ryumo calling. Thus, the bubbly brunette answers. "Ryumo! There you are! Hehe so how did it go?….Really?! That's great, oh I'm so glad, tell Onii chan that I said thank you and love ya big brother!" Once again, her brother knows exactly how to make her so happy. And so Himiko is getting herself ready for their return.
On the way to Hankyu Line Sasiki and Kei are on the way to go straight at the address 278 Enpukuji-mae-cho, Nakagyo-ku to find the company that several of the girls seem to get employed in. After getting off the transport subway train, they continue their travel to their destination. During their walks both Sasiki and Kei are in a discussion regarding to Sanada's efficient detective skills and how far they've been able to reach this far from the cases that has been silent for such a long time. Sasiki still finds this hard to believe. To Kei, she's finally starting to hope for the parents, families, siblings, and friends of the victims. For a few steps both of the Division 3 officers stopped and looked to their left to see that they have come across Amura Tailor Shop. To them, the girls that got hired here were seamstresses, sewing, knitting, and crafting traditional Japanese garments. As soon as they stepped in, they were greeted by the front clerk asking them what they need from the shop.
"Hello, we're the police detectives from Division3 and we would like to speak with the manager regarding to several of your previous workers."
The staff obliges and went to the back room informing this shifts manager about the arrival of forensic investigators asking for some workers. A few minutes passed until a robust middle-aged man comes out and greeted the two officers about the situation. Sasiki shows the man pictures of the murdered victims to see if he can recognize any of them. Then to their surprise the manager knows the first 3 girls who were the recent ones compared to the remaining pictures that were a couple decades old. "So do you happen to know anything with these girls you recognized here?"
"Ai, Inami, and Hiharu were fantastic workers, they've crafted amazing designer wear kimonos, yukatas, and most importantly their most common fashion women's attire they created and the most expensive, the Josie Natori Japanese Nouveau Dress that cost 398,000 Yen" It's sad they went missing right after they umm start to have some sort of midlife crisis."
Pulling his head back while tilting from that comment. Sasiki asked the manager to elaborate. "Wait what do you mean? Midlife crisis, do you happen to know what the girls were talking about?"
The manager rubs his chin with his eyes close shut and continues to explain. "Well, it's more towards Ai, she's been talking about a lot of nonsense regarding to staying beautiful forever. Unfortunately, I have no idea what happened to her now."
After a good 10 second pause Kei chimes in with her own question to the manager. "Sir do you happen to come across anyone who is currently working here like the girls on these ID cards? That happens to have the same passion for tailoring and sewing?"
"There is one currently working here but now, she seems to be getting off more often than I expected….and when she does start to show up to work, she looked a bit desperate about something...I just can't put my finger on what her deal is?"
Sasiki simply ask the manager her name. "Can you tell us the workers name, sir?" The manager nodded. "Sure thing, her name is-"
[At Shibumi Residence 4:50 P.M.]
Back at the Shibumi Residential, Himiko and Sajime heard the door open and saw Sanada and Ryumo coming in right after they had their fill from the sushi place. Himiko immediately jumps off and ran towards the two boys hugging them both with untamed joy. Once she gives both of them space, Ryumo blushes and hugs his new girlfriend in return while Sanada approaches his grandmother to discuss something important.
"Grandmother…. there's something I need to let you know. I'll be still going to work during the evening, there's something important I have to take care of. Can you look after Himiko and our guest Ryumo?" The elderly woman smiles pat her grandson on his shoulder. "Of course, my child, I'll do what I can and thank you for filling me in on what you were up to. Since you're trying to keep the populous safe from danger, I won't hold you back on doing your job." Before she turns back to her room and rest, Sajime worryingly expresses her concern for her grandson noticing the obvious bags on his eyes. "Just be careful, okay?"
"I always will, I'll try to stay in one piece." Now that he's here, he needed to try and see what his sister's doing with her phone, but in order to not have Himiko become wary from his ploy to confiscate her phone he needed something to keep her at a safe distance so he can examine it. Then he sniffs noticing that Himiko have wholly forgotten to take her shower in the morning. "Himiko! Did you take a shower yet!?"
She turns her attention to her brother as he covers his nose and mouth which made her tumble around after Ryumo lets her go from their grasp as she bows and apologizes. "Ohhh Onii-Chan I'm so sorry! I forgot that your nose is highly sensitive I'll go straight to the shower now! Ryumo San, I'll be back down, okay? Give me a few minutes."
"Sure thing, don't go crazy up there..." Once that's taken care of, Ryumo took a seat at the living room couch. Sanada knocks on his grandmother's room and ask her a few things. "Grandmother if it's okay for me and Ryumo to have a chat in private?" He looks at the closed door waiting for her answer. "Of course, I'll leave you two boys some space since you two must be exhausted." And so, she goes to her room to get herself ready for bed.
Once the close is clear, both Ryumo and Sanada examines Himiko's phone to see anything that is strange or out of place. Sanada unlocks the password to open the screen and goes straight to Himiko's phone messages to turn on a certain conversation he chose to look into. From the texts he sees that it was normal as usual from the start but then he realizes something. He checked the time the texts were sent to each other; it looks as though that their hang out plans were during the time when Sanada goes straight to work. The more he sees the texts after scrolling down he also took notice of how the person displayed signs of frustration in those texts. Ryumo also pointed out that at one of those days is when he met Himiko and her friend he was greeted pretty harshly by that said person to the point she doesn't want to see his face again, not only that is when he and Himiko were attacked by the three thugs that attempted to kidnap Himiko, not long after that someone asked Himiko to hang out an hour before they were attacked.
Sanada slowly glances at his guest with a very intimidating angry glare. "Ryumo…..are you thinking what I'm thinking..?" The older brother of Himiko clearly pissed off the moment he read all the message history between his sister and that said person who lied and tricked her to be back in Kyoto which is the reason why he agreed to joining the move in the first place. So, he can figure out why there were so much missing persons cases unsolved back at the west in which the victims went silent after they visited Japan. Ryumo is overwhelmed by this as he too felt equally as pissed. "I did….I... just can't even.." Before he can say anything, Sanada tells him to do one last favor before he can spend time with Himiko as soon as he's ready to go. "I need you to ask Himiko where she got the umbrella okay?" Given his last favor to do for the stern older brother, Ryumo nods. "Good, I'll be taking Himiko's phone, tell her I'll be borrowing it to fix up the screen." The spiky haired boy nodded again with a thumbs up. "Alright, done and done."
With that, the angry glaring detective storms out of the house and enters the car as Yakimori asks what's going on given Sanada's scary mood. Sanada doesn't respond but looks intensely at the phone, he asks Yakimori to drive anywhere to kill time. Unaware to the context of this is Yakimori just did what his cop partner told him to. The pair had been on the drive for a couple of minutes, suddenly he's gotten a call from Kei. Sanada picks it up and answers, once he listens in on the information, He immediately tells Kei that it's enough information then drops the call. Not too long after that, he has gotten the text from Ryumo that the one who gave Himiko the umbrella was none other than Miyazu Kanatoshi. This solidifies his hunch and is more than willing to meet the person who deceived his little sister into coming here.
"I should have known!….Now it makes sense….!" His teeth grit, hands clenched to a tight fist, and his brows furrowing to a scary degree which made Yakimori scared by his ominous and deathly aura around Sanada. "Dude what's wrong?! What did you find out…?"
Just after Yakimori asked out of nowhere Himiko's phone started beeping then stops the moment it hits the 5 second mark. He looks at his sister's phone to see who's behind the call, it's Miyazu asking Himiko to meet her between Fresco and Juiko thrift store through an alleyway for a simple hangout. "Now I got you!….Yakimori go to this destination!" Sanada pointed out the specific address. With this, both the detectives drove at the location marked on the map pointer from their GPS system.
Not long after they arrived at their set destination, Sanada is the first to get off the car and approaches the mentioned area that she-demon left for them. In a few feet away he can see an alleyway right between the two buildings. Instead of going straight in to confront this lying murderous fiend. He informs Yakimori to stay on guard for anything that can pose a threat nearby. As Yakimori complies, is when Sanada enters the dark and dirty alleyway in which Miyazu chose to meet with Himiko. To her surprise instead of expecting Himiko to come she's met with someone who is the last person she wanted to see in front of her, Himiko's big brother Sanada who sports the most intimidating glare he could possibly showcase towards the obviously distraught red ponytail head.
In a state of panic but tries to keep her composure, she asks Sanada why he's doing here of all places. "S-Sanada I- I didn't think you would find me here; I was umm lost…."
He slowly stalks her, slowly walking around the confused Miyazu as if he's a shark ready to claim its target. Coming ever closer to the lying monster not believing anything she says from this point on. "Oh really? Your face sure tells a whole different story seeing how you at first went completely blank and shocked to see me here. Better yet I should be asking you the exact same thing on why you picked a place like this specifically. Care to explain that to me?"
His tone is even more aggressive not laying anything down as he throws a few hints and clues that made him suspect her the moment he arrived here with Himiko. "No scratch that! Do you really think I'm that stupid to fall for your lies here?! I figured something was off about you the moment I met you at Kyoto Train Station! You pulled that same reaction when I arrived here just like our first meeting! Well, your mistress, the jig is up for the amount of murders you've done and the way you used them for your personal gain sickens me to a god damn core! I'm glad I stuck around to know exactly what this was all about! I guess it still wasn't enough for you I bet, no you wanted more! So, you went out of your way to desperately get Himiko to come over here so you can kidnap her and sacrifice her with your twisted fucking ritual so you can take over her body! Who the fuck do you think you are taking their lives away and utterly destroying and humiliating their loved ones!? You even got one of the Divisions to cover your tracks so nobody can get to you!"
Sanada is not done; he throws in the number one reason why he got involved into joining the trip in the first place. "And there's no doubt you're the one who's responsible for the disappearance of Michelle Osborn, Blake Burlington, Suki Tokomi, Haley Shire, and Brooklyn Rose!" Sanada's rage intensifies each time the names were said as Sanada's hands clenched to the point of bleeding. "Their cases in the US have always bugged me for the longest time! Their families, friends, and anyone who held them dear had never gotten the chance to know what had happened to them when they visited Kyoto Japan! Which is why I finally agreed to myself that I'll find out what led to their disappearance! There's no getting out of this Miyazu! There is no way I'll let you take my sister! No chance in hell!"
There's a long drawn out pause from the blank Miyazu, suddenly she begins to laugh, laughing to the point of insanity as she made a sadistically mile long smile. "He… hehe… hehehe… HEHE…HAHAHAHAAHAHA! Ohhh…..I guess I'm just a bit too clumsy and overconfident about keeping score of how long I can get away with my silent murder count...guess that's on me….I knew you were the type of guy who could pull this off unlike those poor excuses of policemen and women from the other Divisions….." She slowly claps her hands for the furious older brother of Himiko. "My My I have to say Sanada San the way you show your hatred, anger, and rage...is ever soooo exquisite!" She twirls around like a prancing little child as if this is a game to her while an angry Sanada keeps a tight lock on her. "But it doesn't matter, you have been a petulant foil ever since you came with my sweet little Himiko…. you've just made my job a lot harder than it should. Oh, and that Ryumo brat!? Should have killed him when he was kept in captivity while I sunk a few blades in his precious…." She licks her lips in a twisted delightful manner. Thus, further enraging the glaring detective. "Hehe and besides it's useless to try and put me on trial…. you'll just embarrass yourself in front of the general public who are stupid enough to believe what I have to preach! I'll never get caught because I have the trust of Division 5 and the stupid sheep's who wouldn't dare to question a helpless little girl such as myself who couldn't do no wrong!"
Suddenly Sanada said the one thing that unnerved even the twisted and sadistic Miyazu Kanatoshi. "Who says I'm arresting you?"
"W-what?!….." Her sadistic features changed immediately to terror as what she saw is Sanada slowly pointing his 9mm colt pistol directly at her. "N-Noo Sanada w-what are you doing?! Don't do anything rash! If you kill me, you'll be labeled a murderer, a killer, a danger to the general public!" Her devilish purple pupils shrink in horror as she's facing death with a press of a trigger. "You'll be ridiculed, hated upon, and be forgotten by the public if you put a bullet in me!"
Sanada spit on the floor keeping his gun locked on the apparently cowardly teen girl serial killer. "You may think you've figured me out, you may have thought that I'd be this soft to not resort to violence. Here's a hint little mistress, you have no clue what I'm able to do for my sister's sake! I've never been a saint! My actions were never pure! I did horrible things to keep my sister safe and alive!" The scared twin pony-tailed red head fell on her butt crawling away from this maniac. "I simply don't give a damn about myself!….What I am after is justice, justice for those who lost their lives by your hands, avenging the families who lost them, and put a stop to your unnoticed massacre forever!" But right before he can pull the trigger, his whole body tenses up in an alarming rate. His vision blurred and suddenly he felt an excruciating pain coming from his head as he shakes off the effects of one dormant disease attempting to claim his life. "ARGHHH!…..urgghhh…." Sanada tries his best to aim and shoot but the pain keeps destroying his focus. The detective bends down and starts to puke up blood from his mouth right in front of the now confused Miyazu. Sanada coughs violently while pressing his right hand onto his chest gripping it tightly to try and stop the ever-growing torture from within him.
Her sheer fright turns back to a malicious eerie felt laugh after watching him go down suffering from an unknown disease. "Poor Sanada….look's like mother nature really running it's course for you? Too bad…..you were such a cool person at first but then again...you're partly the reason why I can't get to Himiko…." She raises her arms in a strange position as the sadistic girl looks up to her sides with her wicked smile grinning even wider. "Farewell Sanada, it's been nice knowing you, but we all know you'll be saved from ever watching your own sister get violated and turned into my very own plaything once you're gone." She proceeded to puts her hand down to where Sanada is.
Suddenly Yakimori came in and ducked himself with Sanada on the ground only to miss being shot by a .50 cal sniper rifle bullet thus causing Miyazu to become fearfulness again and ran off to the opposite way of the alleyway Sanada starts shooting at her but miss his shots due to the blurry visions from his eyes. "D-Damn it all!…." The sickened detective continues to spit out blood, Yakimori tries to pick him up by the shoulder as he carries his working partner back to the car as tons of people witnessed the shooting. Yakimori ordered everyone to back off so he can put Sanada into the police car and request an emergency ambulance pick up. Sanada faintly stares at his cop partner and pleads for him. "Yakimori….please….don't tell my sister….about this..."
"D-Don't worry I won't let your sister see you like this! I promise. Please stay strong buddy!" He struggles to keep Sanada breathing so he won't slump down and get hurt even more. "Damn it all! No, you better not give up on me!"
Sanada slowly closes both his eyes ever so slowly as he cursed the very thing that took away his mother and ruin his chance to end everything here. "I-I….can't believe….this...s-so close…." He finally passes out right in front of Yakimori causing him to fear for the worst.
"Sanada!...SANADA!"
