Notes: This takes place in episode 155, when Juudai and Yubel are fusing.
Summary: They will never be separated again. Juudai kept his promise, and they're going to forge a future together.
From the first moment, as their souls began to become one, Yubel became aware of what Juudai felt and knew and believed. They'd already known a great deal about their past - now they knew him as he was now. Not that their love would ever falter, but they knew him - knew all that they'd missed in the years between their exile into space and this moment. Tears spilled down their cheeks as the two of them became one - part of them regretted all the harm caused, knowing now the meaning of love that went beyond pain and suffering. Part of them could not quite be upset by it, because it had brought about this moment, this perfect fusion of the two of them.
What they'd done before, through the vessel of Martin Kanou, hadn't been anywhere on this level. That had been forced, ham-handed, clumsy, and could be easily broken. This was nothing of the sort - this was forever. It came from both the power of Super Fusion and their own commitment to one another.
Juudai loved them. Juudai had always loved them. What he hadn't known until now was that the love existed or why it had existed. Now that he knew, he loved them all over again, just as it had been in the old days. While he did care for Johan - and Yubel could feel that as well - it was a different kind than what he felt for them. But, Yubel thought as the two of them blended into one another, perhaps there would be room one day for Johan. They would need time to learn to live with one another like this, to manage the future they would have together. But once that was done - it was something they would have to work out together. They had a great deal to work out together.
A future with Juudai - Yubel could hardly believe it. For ages they'd feared that it would never be. Yet it would happen - it was happening right now, the beginnings at least. They would be together forever, and nothing would change that. Through everything, the love that had begun so long ago had prevailed. There would be a great deal to make up for, in one form or another, but it would be done.
And Yubel looked forward to every single moment of it.
