December 12th, 1969

Dear Annie,

You wrote your first letter! Oh, I'm so, so, so, so so proud of you! I see that Daddy helped you write your letter. I took a nap on the couch and wake up to him giving it to me, the small envelope covered in your pretty drawings! They are so adorable! Now, I know I'm no teacher, but I do know that the only words you should capitalize are the first letter in a sentence and in someone's name. The rest are lowercased. And I know you like food, you love prawns and it's just so adorable when you try to fit a whole one in your mouth! And there are a few spelling errors as well, but I can help with that. Oh dear, maybe I could be a teacher after all!

I'm sure Auntie Maree and Susan like you very much. In fact, Susan wants to come over tomorrow. I'm sure you'll love that!

Now, let me finish this so I can give this to Daddy and start dinner.
