A/N: I've watched a few episodes past the third season of Lost, so some of the deaths and information here probably aren't accurate.
Disclaimer: I do not own Lost.
P.S. Sorry for the short stories. I not one who would normally share my fan fiction with other people, so I'm trying to get used to having my fan fiction be public before writing longer stories.
Far away, on an island in the middle of nowhere, an old woman sat next to a gravesite, recounting the deaths of those on flight 815 as she had for ten years.
Bless the souls of those who had died in the crash. They weren't buried here. They were cast out to sea or burned.
Then there was that poor woman who drowned after being pulled out to sea by a riptide.
And the man, Scott or Steve, who was killed by Ethan.
And Boone, who died soon after a plane fell on him and crushed his leg.
She had heard that Dr. Arzt was blown up by dynamite.
Shannon was shot and killed accidentally by Ana-Lucia only a week after her brother died.
Ana-Lucia and Libby were killed by the person they were keeping in the hatch, the Other.
She never heard that Eko was dead, but after the search party returned empty-handed, she could guess what happened.
After they returned, Kate and Sawyer told everyone what happened with the Others and Michael. She hoped that Michael and Walt got away safely (even though Michael betrayed them), but by the fact that nobody came to rescue the people stuck on the island, they were probably dead.
Kate, with the help of the other survivors, created a raft, and she and Sawyer left the island to get Jack back. They did, but Kate received a fatal gunshot wound.
Desmond was out looking for the other hatches, and didn't foresee that another lightning strike would set fire to Claire's shelter, that Charlie would die saving her, and that Claire would die of her burns too, leaving behind one-month-old Aaron. And Aaron, without his mother's milk, died quickly after.
In fact, Desmond was shot by Rousseau, who'd never seen him before and assumed he was an Other.
Unfortunately, Sun died during childbirth and the child was stillborn. Jin killed himself a few days after she died.
Everything was fine for about three years. Some people got sick or injured, but Jack helped them quickly. Then everything went downhill when Jack, who was working too hard and wasn't eating or drinking enough, had a stroke and died.
Everyone else died quickly after that happened.
A disease struck the camp about a month after Jack died, and Sayid went to find Rousseau and ask her if she knew anything about the sickness, or if there were any natural remedies on the island. Hurley found them a bit later with an Other, all three dead with bullet holes through their chests.
Several people died of the disease, Bernard, Nikki, and Paulo among them.
Hurley disappeared a while after that, but his body washed up on the beach, looking as if he'd drowned and had been thrown against some rocks. While they were taking apart his shelter, Locke and Sawyer found a letter, which apparently said that Hurley thought none of this was real, but if it was then he made some great friends and that he hoped they would be rescued soon.
Nobody knew how Sawyer died. Some people thought that he developed a brain tumor, because he reported headaches and smelled burning, but before he died everyone chalked it up to him losing his glasses and recently starting another signal fire.
She couldn't really remember what happened to everyone else. She remembered that the Others left for some reason, and something about Locke and a polar bear... She was old now, and her memory was fading.
6 years. She'd been alone for 6 years. She didn't even want to leave the island. Nobody would be there for her when she got home. When she first crashed, she was afraid of leaving because she thought that there was a chance that her cancer would come back. Now, she didn't want to leave because everybody she loved was gone.
Rose stood up and walked away from her friends' and husband's graves, waiting for death to take her too.
It's been a few days since I started this one-shot, and now I know how several people die.
