"Mummy!" Theo ran towards her when she entered the church two days later
"Oh Munchkin look you so handsome" she knelt in front of him
"Your beautiful Mummy, like a princess" he ran a hand across her cheek
"Hi Bud" Dylan smiled stopping behind Kate
"Dylan hi" he reached a hand up "Oh.." he reached his own down shaking Theo's little one
"Your suit matches mine" he pulled his hand away as Kate arose to stand, her hands flattening out her blue dress that stopped just above her knees with her favourite pair of heels
"That they do little man"
"Are you here as Mummy's boyfriend?"
"Ah.."
"Theo" Kate shook her head at the same time as Dylan stuttered
"It's okay because I like you" he nodded
"Kid your killing me here"
"Theo, time to get ready!" Mike's mother called from the alter
"Coming Nan" he yelled
"We'll see you after the ceremony" Dylan ruffled his curls
"Bye Mummy" he smiled running off
"That kid" Kate turned to face him
"His got his Mother's spirit"
"I um.."
"Why don't I find a seat and you go wish Mike luck"
"What?"
"I know you wanna see him"
"Believe me I don't, I don't even wanna be here but Theo needs me" she nervously fiddled with her clutch
"Kate" Dylan smiled placing a hand over hers "go see him, I get the feeling that you need closure just as much as he does"
"The last time I saw him he.."
"What?"
"Things got heated and I don't particularly want to relive that"
"Do you want me to come with you?"
"No.. thank you but"
"I'll be right here waiting" he leaned in kissing her cheek,
taking her clutch from her when she stepped back he watched in silence when she head towards the back of the church where the change rooms were.
Taking a deep breath Kate knocked on the door entering after she heard a annoyed 'Come in'
"Having trouble?" she closed the door behind her seeing him struggling with his tie
"A little" he turned away from the mirror
"Here" she stepped in front of him taking over to tie his tie
"I'm glad you came"
"I came for Theo" she avoided his eyes
"Did you see him? In his tux?"
"I did, he looks very handsome"
"Unlike his tie mine isn't a Velcro one"
"There" she fixed his collar stepping back
"Thanks" he smiled
"No problem"
"Kate.."
"I should get back out there, just wanted to say congrats"
"Don't do this" he reached out grabbing her hand "don't push me away"
"I'm not, I'm stepping back keeping my distance can't have my boyfriend thinking I still have feelings for you"
"You.." he dropped her hand "your seeing someone?"
"It's relatively new"
"Do I know him?"
"Ah yeah.." she cleared her throat "it's actually Dylan"
"Oh, I didn't think you two were.."
"Like I said it's relatively new" she shrugged
"Well I'm happy for you" he forced a smile
"Thanks"
"Do you.." he paused
"What?"
"Nothing" he shook his head "you better go find a seat"
"Sure, see you out there" she smiled opening the door and exiting the room.
Making her way down the middle of the church Kate spotted Dylan sitting on Mike's side his knee bouncing up and down nervously, slipping onto the pew next to him she instinctively placed her hand on his thigh
"Fuck.." he jumped
"Sorry"
"Everything sorted" he placed his own hand over hers
"I guess"
"You okay?"
"Surprisingly yes, I thought I'd feel something but I.." she shifted to face him "I didn't feel anything except for closure.."
"Closure?"
"Yeah"
"Kate.."
"Okay folks lets take our seats" a voice echoed throughout the church
"We can talk later" she smiled turning back to face the front
"Sure" he nodded
going to move his hand off her his stopped in surprise when she flipped her hand interlocking her fingers through his sliding closer to her so there shoulders were touching he smiled watching Kate who had a small smile at seeing Theo wave at her.

Hours later sitting in a chair at the reception sipping a beer Dylan watched Theo attempt to dance with his Mum, arising from his chair he made his way over tapping him on the shoulder
"Mind if I cut in little man?" he asked hopeful his eyes meeting Kate's that were sparkling under the light
"Do you know how to dance?" he let Kate's hands go
"I'm pretty good at it"
"Mummy's an amazing dancer, you can take over" he nodded skipping away,
"May I?" Dylan asked holding out a hand when they were alone
"Of course" she smiled placing her hand in his, resting her other hand on his shoulder her breath hitched when Dylan wrapped his around her waist pulling her against him.
"I don't know if I told you this already but you look beautiful"
"Thank you"
"I meant to tell you earlier but the little munchkin beat me to it"
"He's just trying to suck up" she dropped her head
"Kate" he pleaded waiting while she lifted her head to look at him "Theo maybe trying to suck up but I'm not, your beautiful the most beautiful woman in this room and Mike is an idiot for letting you go"
"You really think that?" her hand on his shoulder moved to his cheek, letting her hand go he placed it over the one on his cheek
"Every word but I'm also grateful that he cheated on you"
"What?"
"Because otherwise you wouldn't be dancing with me, making my hear skip beats with every time you look at me" Removing her hand off his cheek Kate stepped back grabbing his free hand in hers
"Come with me"
"Where are we going?"
"I'm over this wedding"
"What about Theo?" he looked across at him just as he stuffed a piece of cake into his mouth
"He's spending the night with Mike's Mum" she wiggled her fingers waiting for him to take her hand
"And we're.."
"Ditching" she smirked grabbing his hand impatiently,
"Kate.."
"Do you trust me?" she stopped to face him
"You know I do" his free hand gripped her waist
"Then come on" she laughed dragging him towards the exit.
