8 Years Later-

For the past eight years since Kate stayed within a year her and Theo moved into Dylan's house, Theo claiming the biggest bedroom that was converted to a football players dream.

A week after they'd settled in Kate found out she was Pregnant with Liam, after the birth of him eight months later Dylan asked Kate to marry him while she was sitting in her hospital bed breastfeeding Liam.

'Are you crazy?' she'd asked in surprise

'Crazy about you' was his reply,

Married a year later and the news broke that Mike and Serena were getting a 'amicable' divorce but would co-parent there daughter.

When Liam turned Five Dylan retired from the AFL wanting to spend more time with Kate and the kids he became a radio host from home for a local Football podcast.

Kate still working as a local reporter her schedule changing from seven days a week to four, two years later and they found out they were pregnant again this time with a little girl a few complicates throughout the pregnancy prevented Kate from working unless it was from home but the minute she held her little girl in her arms she knew it was worth it, that their family was now complete.

"Here you go" Theo smiled placing a stack of serviettes on the kitchen bench

"Thanks baby" Kate smiled

"Where's Dylan?"

"Ah out the back with your brother I think"

"Cool" he ran towards the back door

"Theo?"

"Yep?"

"Twenty-minutes tell your Father"

"Okay" he nodded.

Running across the grass Theo stopped in time to catch the basketball, throwing it towards the hoop he pumped the air when it went in "Oh yeah!"

"Show off" his seven-year-old brother caught it when it bounced off the ground

"Your just jealous"

"Whatever"

"Boys, knock it off" Dylan snapped turning around with a baby strapped to his chest "I just got your sister to sleep"

"Sorry pop" Theo shrugged "by the way Mum said twenty-minutes"

"Do me a favour and teach your brother some shots why I go help your Mother"

"But.."

"Not buts"

"Fine" he huffed snatching the ball off Liam as Dylan made his way inside.

"Hey beautiful" Dylan stopped next to the kitchen bench

"Where are the boys?" she looked up from the nappy bag

"Outside, I wanted to check in you absolutely sure your okay with this?"

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Baby.." he grabbed her arm pulling her to him "I know that this isn't easy for you"

"It has to be done, Serena is a part of this family whether her and Mike are divorced or not they share a kid and that kid also happens to be Theo's younger sister"

"You could always stay home with Soph, make up some excuse"

"As much as I would love that" she ran her finger over the head of Sophie who was in the baby carrier strapped to Dylan's chest "you know that Lea see's me as a surrogate Mother I have to be there it's her birthday"

"You just had a baby less then a week ago, I'm sure she'd understand if you stayed home to relax"

"Having her here was well worth the forty-eight hours of labour" Sophie stirring against Dylan's chest, unclicking the straps Kate carefully took her out taking her in her arms moving in a swaying motion she kept her eyes trained down on her little girl.

Watching his wife with a big smile Dylan reached out placing his hand against her cheek he lifted her head to look at him

"What?" she asked in confusion

"Nothing, I just wanted to see that look"

"Look?"

"The way you've looked at me and our kids for the past eight years"

"You big softy" she laughed softly, leaning over she placed a kiss on his cheek when she moved back he held onto her head pulling it back to him and meeting her lips in a passionate kiss

"Eww!" two voiced groaned from the doorway

"You two ready?" Dylan moved back from the kiss looking over at Theo and Liam

"Ready" they nodded

"Ready?" he looked back at Kate who gave him a slight nod also.

Collecting the nappy bag off the bench he watched in content while his family made their way to the door a part of him finding it hard to believe that this was his life now.
