Introductions
Rachel Mason is the head teacher of Waterloo Road Academy in Greenock, Scotland. After a very messy divorce to her husband, Adam Fleet, four and half years ago, Rachel moved on from Manchester and up to Greenock in Scotland, going back to where she felt was home, her one and only Waterloo Road. It had been a good few years since Rachel had become head and into her third year, half way through the first term of the new year.
Of course her senior management team she had to coax back. She had approached Eddie, but he declined politely as he was in a better situation, Kim agreed and so did Chris. The same old staff were still about, including Steph, Grantley and Tom. They were a family and they weren't just colleagues, Rachel had the respect for her colleagues and they had the respect for her, even if they could test her.
Having her senior management team back together was a highlight for Rachel, her and Kim had grown in company over the past year, both been independent women, obviously Kim had dexter who was in primary school but apart from that she was single, so was Rachel and that was how it was meant to be…that was until Kim and Chris had begun dating just after Easter of last year and were still very much going strong. Of course Rachel didn't approve of staff relationships after what happened with Eddie eight years ago, but she knew together they were happy and so let them be.
Rachel held a secret that even her closest friends didn't know about. On Wednesday afternoons, she would take the afternoon off, travel to Manchester, just like she did on Saturdays, it was a personal reason she kept close to her and one she was too ashamed to share.
