Chapter 2 - Eight Years' Time
Over the next eight years, while still trapped in Strange's pocket universe, Stewie grew into a fine child. About nine years old at the time. And during those eight years, Strange managed to provide for Stewie, even conjure up some sustenance for him. And even for education, Strange taught everything he knew about the mystic arts to Stewie, and then some.
Finally, it was the anniversary of the day.
"Well," Stewie began. "It's been eight years. Eight years of serving penitence with you, Stephen."
"Yes, Stewie," Strange replied. "And if it weren't for you, I would have lost control of the creatures I absorbed. The creatures that shaped me into a sorcerer beyond supreme."
"I'll bet by now, that canine companion of mine, Brian, has passed on. You know, the dog I was talking about?"
"Oh, yeah," Strange chuckled. "I know that you once traveled the Multiverse with him. I could conjure up some fresh batteries for your remote."
"Yes, you could," Stewie nodded. "But I guess I can stay here a little longer. After all, I have some stories to tell."
"Stewie," Strange began, "even if it's about the family you left behind…"
"Not yet, anyway," Stewie interrupted. "It's about one of the universes I discovered. It's one where Brian had gotten run over, and was replaced with a Jersey-speaking dog named Vinny. Seriously, he sounds a bit like Peter Paul 'Paulie Walnuts' Gualtieri from The Sopranos. But, there's more. Even if the events of that universe never happened in other universes, Brian and Vinny do share a fraternal relationship."
"You mean…they're brothers?"
"They have different mothers, but the same father."
"This I have got to hear."
But just when Stewie was about to tell his story, the Watcher suddenly burst into the pocket universe, breathing in defeat for some reason, getting their attention.
"The Watcher?" Strange noticed.
"I've heard about the Watcher," Stewie added. "He's from a race of sentient observers that can do nothing but…well, observe."
"I'm out of options," the Watcher rued. "That thing has left me no choice."
"What thing?" Stewie replied.
"Ultron," the Watcher replied back. "In another universe, he took over and destroyed most life in it." This news made Stewie gasp in shock and sadness. "And now, he's going to destroy me."
Strange chuckled. "Been there," he said. "Been living the dream ever since. But I wasn't alone as I had thought, since this little guy came in. Are you ready to break your oath?"
"You want me to say it?" the Watcher guessed.
"Oh, yeah," Strange chuckled. "Oh, yeah, I wanna hear you say it."
With no other option, the Watcher reluctantly agreed. "Okay, I can't believe I'm about to say this. I see now." He breathed in, and got on his feet. "I need your help, the both of you."
"Does this mean I can finally get out of this universe?" Stewie asked.
Pause.
"Maybe," the Watcher answered.
