PROLOGUE
Queen is hungry tonight. She cries for fish. She is so hungry these nights, I can never sleep enough. If I do not catch food with the others, she will spit fire at me. Her fire is like a spout of lava, it scorches bone, melts eyes.
Queen likes to spit fire at me, since I am the only Night Fury of her nest. She has said my family has died. She says she has eaten them and liked their taste. I believe she is not lying.
Longhorn will fight the manking for his fish. Strongjaw will help steal the fish with her big feet. The others will scare the village away, and I will make the final threat of warning for this manvillage to beware of our return. Longhorn tells me to be careful of man's flying mouths. He has seen them in other villages. Men are demons.
I find a mancave to rest my paws, one where light hides and men will miss me. Fire dances on the manstreets below. My brethren are foaming at their mouths, they like to burn the manvillages.
Brethren with long mouths and horns spray their fire like blazing arrows at the men and shemen, others with bodies like stones hit the men with their tails. It is funny to see the men run away. I fly in for the final scare of the manvillage.
The scare is easy. I speed over the village, shooting electric sparks from my throat. I scared many men to their caves.
The others have called me, enough fish has been stolen. I will be late to meet Queen if I do not fly faster.
All at once, my wings blind my eyes, and I fall. I scream for my brethren, but they have not heard me.
A flying mouth has eaten me.
