Hey folks, this is my first story, so if you find any flaws in my writing or grammar, just let me know in the comments.
Second, given that this story is a crossover between Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeast and Far cry New Dawn, some characters, elements, and lore from both Far cry 5 and Far cry New Dawn will be added as well, and some of the established characters from Far cry New Dawn and Far cry 5 will be changed to mutes to help the story blend better, at least in my opinion.
I'll leave more notes at the end of my chapters, but for now I'll just shut up and get to the story, that is why you're here, right? Just let me write this disclaimer and give a shout-out, then we'll begin.
Warning
Writer is not politically correct, as in I'm very patriotic, pro-American, pro-free speech, and very, very anti-socialism. If you are offended by this fact, you know where the back button is. Remember: Don't like, don't read.
Disclaimer
The Far cry series, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeast and any other games, brands, books, songs, etc, that are mentioned in this story are property of their respected owners. I own nothing.
Shout-out
This story was created with encouragement from fanfic writer Chance Green G King, who I thank by asking you the reader to check out his works as well.
Chapter 1
Prologue
June 27th, 2035
One month has passed since the Captain fought the twin leaders of the Highwaymen, Mickey and Lou, and had driven them both out of New Eden and rest of Hope County with their gang, and the tension that had been present since their arrival had finally eased off to the point that the people in the settlement of Prosperity and the rest of the county were talking about what would come next, now that the Twins and the rest of their bandit scum had been forced back east.
Currently, our hero is resting at Prosperity in his private space on top of the main building, lying in a hammock suspended between some trees that are growing on the roof, enjoying the afternoon breeze.
At least he was, until he heard someone calling out for him.
"Cap…Captain…Are you up there?"
Personally, C.J., or Cap as he was also known as, would have preferred to take it easy today and not be running around the county, but most likely someone was in need of his help, and just like the quote by Thomas Jefferson that his father taught him: 'All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.' And if someone was in need of help, the last thing C.J. was going to be was silent...unless he chose to use stealth when fighting his enemies. After all, that's what silenced guns, bows, and throwing knives were for…and the occasional slingshot.
With a deep sigh, C.J. got up from his hammock and walked to the edge of the roof to see who was calling him, yelling back "Yeah I'm up here. Who wants to know?" only to see the culprit who had interrupted his afternoon was none other than Bean.
The young business founder of WikiBeania visibly brightened at the sight of the local hero before he went on the tell C.J. "There's someone on the radio in my cartography room asking for you."
"Any other details about who they are?" C.J. asked before Bean continues.
"They said they're part of a group called the American Survival Alliance."
This got C.J.'s attention faster than a snake bite. The American Survival Alliance, or A.S.A., was the faction that Rush formed after the collapse with the goals of establishing settlements and uniting survivors, promoting peace and coexistence between mutes and humans, and most importantly, rebuilding the United States to its former glory before both the Great Mutant Outbreak of 2017 and the following world wide nuclear war that ensued the year after in an attempt by the different governments of the world to stop the mutes from completely taking over. But obviously dropping nukes could only do so much, given the fact that it only caused more problems than solved them. But hey, that's government bureaucrats for ya.
A major example of the different problems that arose after the bombs were the two problems that got away from C.J. at New Eden and were currently still leading the biggest problem in all of wasteland America, instead of taking a dirt nap. However, it now seemed that the winds of change have finally shifted in C.J.'s favor.
Meanwhile, Carmina Rye, a young woman of seventeen years and friend of C.J.'s is currently looking for him around Prosperity, with little luck. Having few options left, Carmina decides to ask the one person in the settlement that had a tendency of keeping tabs on where C.J. would be.
Walking into the main building, Carmina yells out "Hey mom! Do you know where Cap is? I can't find him."
Turning the corner around the fireplace in the middle of the building is Carmina's mother, Kim Rye.
"Bean was shouting for him earlier about a radio call. So try the cartography room." Kim said to Carmina.
With a quick shout of thanks, Carmina ran out the front door to hopefully find C.J., only to accidentally step on the tail of a female cougar mute who was sitting at a picnic table helping to clean some fish for the settlement guards dinner.
"OUCH! DAMMIT CARMINA, WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!"
Realizing her mistake, Carmina turned around and quickly apologized.
"Sorry Mrs. Catteric, I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just in such a rush that I forgot to watch my step."
After smoothing out the fur on her tail, Mrs. Catteric then sighed. "It's alright Carmina, just be more careful next time. And why are you in such a rush anyways? You're the last person I'd expect to be running around Prosperity like a chicken with its head cut off."
"Its Saturday, and Cap and I are going to be headin' out soon to meet Sharky and the others at Roughnecks Crag for some Drubman barbecue, followed by our weekly game night. It's kind of a summertime thing that Cap came up with to help us 'guns for hire' unwind and relax after fighting the Highwaymen for so long." Explained Carmina.
Mrs. Catteric shook her head hearing this.
"If Sharky is at Roughnecks Crag then I guess that would explain why I haven't heard any loud booms coming from the explosives lab today. Just be sure to watch yourself Carmina, and remember to grab a few extra first aid kits from Selene's clinic. Sharky tends to become a bit of a pyromaniac when he's around fire." She said warning Carmina.
"I will ma'am, take care."
With that said, Carmina continued on her way to the cartography room to meet C.J. and then leave for Roughnecks Crag to meet their friends for the barbecue.
Meanwhile, C.J. is finishing his conversation with an A.S.A. official as Carmina turns the corner into the room.
"Hey Cap, ya ready to go?" Carmina asked, only to see that C.J. was wearing a set of headphones while sitting in a chair using the radios microphone, which only caused Carmina to double her efforts in getting his attention by using the captains real name, something that only a few people knew, mainly his friends.
"C.J.! Are we leaving or what!?" She yelled.
C.J. turned around in his chair and shot Carmina an annoyed look while holding up his index finger, indicating for her to wait a moment while he was using the radio.
Carmina could only lean against the wall and listen to C.J.'s conversation while tapping her foot on the wood floor.
"Yeah? Your sure? A week from today? No, that's good. It will be on the fourth, so the people will have twice the reason to celebrate."
Hearing this, Carmina couldn't help but stand closer to C.J. as she was getting more and more interested in what he was talking about.
"Yeah, I'll spread the word. The entire valley will be ecstatic to hear this. Captain C.J. Monroe out."
Quickly switching the radio off and setting the headphones down, C.J. then got up from his seat and gave Carmina a grin as he walked by.
"Alright Carmina, we can leave now."
Despite the fact that they were finally leaving, Carmina couldn't help but ask C.J. about the radio call he received, especially after catching the tail-end of it.
"But Cap, what were you talking about? And why did you say that everyone in the valley would be ecstatic?" She asked while walking along side C.J. as they preceded to leave the cartography room and exit the main gate.
"Listen Carmina, all you need to know right now is that A. Its really good news, and B. I'm not gonna say anything else about it until we get to Roughnecks Crag so the others can hear said good news, okay? Now lets get a move-on before we're late. You drive."
Carmina could only huff in annoyance as the two entered her car and drove off to meet the others at Roughnecks Crag.
Meanwhile, over 1,500 miles away in a burrow under the ruins of the city once known as Los Angeles, a ten year old girl with pinkish skin is walking home from school with her father, who just so happened to also be the teacher.
"So Kipo, what did you think of today's science lesson?"
"I was so cool, dad! I had no idea you could make an electric motor with a few peaces of wire, a battery, a magnet, and some tape!"
Kipo's father, Lio Oak, couldn't help but smile hearing this.
"I know, right? Sure its not as impressive or as powerful as the hydro-electric generators we have powering our burrow, but its just as amazing."
"Will you teach us to make more cool stuff?"
Lio was now beginning to chuckle. The look of excitement in his daughters eyes was just too much.
"Well I do have something planned, but its a surprise."
Kipo gasped in wonder at what the surprise could be.
"Now Kipo, before you ask, it'll be at least a week or two before I tell the class what it is, and that includes you too."
"But dad, that's such a long time, and I don't want to wait that long."
"All good things come to those who wait, Kipo. Now let's get home, I feel like making mandu tonight!"
Kipo gave a squeal of delight as she ran ahead of her father, who then began to chase after her, because her fathers mandu was one of Kipo most favorite foods in the whole world, and she was not going to wait for that.
Okay folks, that's chapter one of Kipo and the age of New Dawn. Be sure leave a comment and let me know what you think. Or not. Its your choice. Have a nice day/night.
